Nothing about me is easy or simple. I’m complex and misunderstood. And if you think you’ve figured me out…you’re dead wrong.Amy wanted to keep pace with me and be what I needed. She desired the dark, but she had no idea what the dark really looked like. There was something else I craved and hungered for. For a long time, I’ve chased it and have done terrible things for it. Dark and sinister things … it. Dark and sinister things that never even cross most people’s minds.
Now I have a ticket to Hell…and I’ve earned it.

Breaking The Mold was a perfect addition to this stellar series. I loved everything about this read it was thrilling, suspenseful, and exciting. This alpha male will blow you away. You really need to read the Club Irons Series if you have not already. Don’t miss out go grab it now.
We met Amy and Paul/JP in Between the Lines, but now we get to see JP’s POV as his story is unveiled. This was an amazing follow-up, and so many questions I had are answered. I loved and hated him in equal measure, never knowing what the next chapter would reveal. This was another fantastic book in the series, and I can’t wait for the next! Just loving how the characters as I get to know each one of them in more depth!
I loved this book for a myriad of reason. The first is reading/watching the metamorphosis of J.P. to Paul. All the anger and wrestling with his inner demons. We see Amy change as well in her quest to be what J.P. needs. I love knowing the back story of all the characters from the Evertt Gaming series. The authors books are always well written and paint vivid images in my mind. You won’t go wrong in reading this book.
This book took me through a gamut of emotions. I’ve never been quite so conflicted. Then because I have read all of drew’s books I felt like I was hurtling toward an inevitable conclusion I just couldn’t bare. My heart actually beat faster and real tears streamed down my face at times. The characters are so real. Drew is simply put a brilliant mastermind
This is the second book of JP’s you need to read the first one to understand it but with that being said it’s a wonderful book! However be prepared for a rollercoaster ride but definitely in a good way! There was times I had to put the book down and let everything sink in to fully understand. I really loved everything about the story love JP or hate him you’ll end up rooting for him by the end. The second part delivers a clear picture of what we never knew about the man and helps you understand him in a way you didn’t before.
Overall this book is seamless and has a great flow even if you need to take a minute to absorb it all it’s definitely worth reading. I would recommend to others another spectacular book from Drew Sera!! Loved it and looking forward too reading many more!!
WOW! This was dark but oh so good! JP made it so easy to hate him. It contained so much information (well for me at least) relating to the Everett Gaming Series and cleared some of my confusion. I feel JP was a total psychopath who unravelled so spectacularly. Hated that he is depicted as so good-looking on the cover…..as how could someone so good-looking result in this person who has totally lost the plot. I just wanted to tell Amy “get out strong independent woman”. Loved Blake, the quiet yet solid guide in the background. There are many strong emotions at play in this book and so much I would like to say but fear revealing too much plot. I will end by saying it all adds up to an awesome read!
Breaking the Mold expands on JP and Amy’s relationship.
And delves more deeper into the complex personality of Paul and his obsessions.
It’s definitely a page tuner once it gets into the nitty gritty of JP/Paul.
It’s twisted,complicated and dark.
Amy is sweet and very naive. She truly loved and wanted to be JP’s everything.
She gets caught up in his web of deceptions and manipulations.
This story provokes many emotions. So be prepared to be rocked to your core.
Oh, wow! Drew Sera knows how to write a book that grips the reader from the very first page and keeps the reader totally engrossed! The story was so well written, the plot flowed effortlessly from page to page and the strongly written characters totally kept me totally captivated until the very last word was read! I look forward to reading what this author writes next!
Oh My!!! This is the 2nd part of Amy and J.P’s story.
“She wanted dark…but how dark could she go?” Amy wants to be everything J.P needs, J.P wants her to be everything he needs, but she can’t. Amy finds out the hard way what it is that he truly “needs”. My heart went with Amy’s. This story had me holding my breath. Drew Sera does a great job with these characters, one Character in particular, J.P he’s dark, twisted and manipulative. He’s the character you love to hate. There was a moment where my heart went out to him. Amy is the character you love and just want to cuddle and tell her everything will be ok. This book can be a bit dark for some people,so please read with caution.
Obsession at its finest. This was a very good book about an obsession that runs your life and the one you say you love. Amy loved JD (Paul) with all her heart but it wasn’t enough and she paid the price for her love. Paul being obsessed with Anthony put him on a course that would ultimately be the downfall to him and everything he holds dear. Absolutely fantastic writing by Drew Sera. You will cry and scream and be angry with what transpires but that is why it is a great book
This book is complex , you have to be very strong minded to focus on it because of the intensity in the scenes . JP proof me wrong to the point that constantly asked myself how far can you go for an obsession? . I felt so much for Amy and relate to her character . Supported unconditionally on her final decision to leave . All the love i felt for JP die with his manipulative personality , the poor treatment towards Amy and the hate towards everyone just because they have money , without even looking at the circumstances. This book has a good trail of the events, passion, hate, bondage, you can not miss it . The finale was not expected bu i love it all the same .
A reading journey that will make you think hard, and feel just as conflicted…
BREAKING THE MOLD is the continuation of JP/Paul (as we know him really) and Amy’s journey. A story that continue’s to spiral into the deep and out of control. Yet compassion for what shapes and molds us can be felt with the words that Drew Sera so eloquently gifts her readers.
Like life, we are molded and shaped by past life experiences. We can also find ourselves lost inside another’s manipulations and perceptions. JP/Paul and Amy are prime examples of life that molds and shapes our behaviours. Behaviours that can spiral as triggers unfold and life can find itself out of control. Our perceptions are more than what the eye can see on the surface at times. When we want something so badly but wanting more comes with a huge cost.
This book – so utterly gripping from the word go… so many thoughts on human behaviour, life experiences, what we should/shouldn’t accomplish, words and actions that may or may not help situations to prevent actions and outcomes… a minefield of emotions that leave you breathless and anxious! I know it left me with plenty of what if this had happened moments… Like life, and inside the words of a book character… we have choices and free will. What we do, our words, our actions all have consequences – some good and some decidedly bad.
Drew is a such a gifted story teller. She delves deep into the heart and makeup of her characters. They all have such hidden depths, that is more than what is surface level to a character. This book is written with heart and compassion. It delves deep, it is dark! it is definitely a journey that will make you think hard.
NOTE: For those familiar with Drew Sera’s – The Everett Games and Club Irons series… BREAKING THE MOLD, will blow your mind, leave you gasping in shock and give you more thoughts to reflect upon. If you love to delve into the minds of your characters and understand human behaviour… you will need to travel back and read the entire book series. For those starting their journey… go back and start from the very beginning with The Everett Games… then Club Irons. It is an epic journey of unimaginable tragedies, overwhelming emotions, personal triumphs and always, stories steeped in love. for some it’s unconditional love and for others destructive love… well worth your time to read every single word, every single book…
First of all, Drew Sera is a brilliant writer, gifted story teller and does a spectacular job of character development. I really loved Between the Lines the prequel to this book but had a very difficult time with this one. This book was extremely dark and I personally struggled reading some of these scenes. If you’re already a Drew Sera fan, I’ll recommend, but it was just not a good read for me.
Wow! Its a must read book. I loved JP in the first book Between the lines, how he was Amy. Reading this book answered so many questions i had, and how he became the Paul we all knew in EGS.
I am willingly sharing my review with Endlessly Reading book blog.
You need to read Between the Lines (Irons Series Book #3) before you read this one since it introduces you to Amy and JP. In this book we follow JP and Amy as they explore Amy’s desire to join the world of kink. Amy is a newbie, she has the inexperience of knowing what is right or wrong within the community. JP is a Master at Club Irons and in her Everett Gaming Series we learned that Paul is a sadist when we first were introduced to him as a side character. Amy loves JP but can she be everything that JP needs? For that answer you’ll need to read for yourself.
Overall thoughts: Drew Sera takes us on another emotional roller coaster ride with this book; I went through a wide range of emotions when reading this book. I will like to warn you that this book is not suitable for someone whom is unable to read about possible triggers of abuse (this is my only spoiler). It was well written, although I did feel that the ending was rushed just a bit but I get it because it has to mesh up with a timeline event that happened in a previous book. I had a difficult time watching as JP became the Paul we knew and hated in the EGS, reading from his POV was a bit difficult only because of the previous dislike of him that I still carry. I had trouble trying to wrap my head around some of Paul’s behavior, I tried to understand the reasoning behind it but couldn’t. Although I have rated this book as a 4 because I wasn’t completely wowed, I would still recommend reading this book.
Wow! Just wow! I could not put this down, once I started I had to see how it all ended. I knew Paul (J.P) was dark and scary but I had no idea how dark and scary. Getting to see his point of view and his perspective was so necessary, it answered so many questions from the previous book, Between The Lines, as well as rounding out the view of Paul we got in the Everett Gaming Series books. I loved being able to see how his relationship with Amy evolved while at the same time hating what happened. This book was so well written, the characters, their relationships, and their flaws are all so real and believable. You’re sucked into the story right from the first word. I highly recommend this book, I loved it.
I loved this book but, I have yet to read a book by Drew that I didn’t love. Get in. Buckle up and hold on tight, for the ride of your life. This book helped answer a lot of questions for me like why JP is the way that he is and made me love and hate him at the same time. Another phenomenal book.
This was an amazing book. I love the charachters and storyline
This book is amazing read that will take you on dark twists and turns that will have you hooked from the first page tell the very end. This book was hard to put down. This book had my emotionals every were. This book will take you down a dark road that will that you on a rollercoaster ride.
Where do I begin, Drew Sera draws her readers into this wonderful world of hers and brings her characters and stories to life. All questions are brought to light, as she delves into the destruction of JP/Paul to try and make you understand his hatred, jealousy and darkness that lives inside him each day a true side of a psychopath. We even get to see a side of him with the love for his brother and Amy that in the end escalates his destruction. Amy wanted the Darkness but at what cost, Paul gave it to her until he broke her and showed her she would never be enough for him she was able to escape him because she knew that his obsession with Anthony was increasing and she feared his darkness was destroying her. With each page you feared for Amy and her love for her Sadist as she hoped that she could be enough for him but Paul was doomed years ago with his first meeting with Anthony his muse who he would never stop obsessing over, his talent for mind fucking his victims and Amy was just a means for him to defuse his yearnings/hatred for Anthony, Colin and Blake and his attraction/ need for Sydney as well as Tammie leads to his downfall. This book will have you crying, screaming as you finally get the answers and ask yourself how far would you go to the DARKNESS. Thank you Drew for taking me on this journey with you and await your next adventure. I highly recommend this book!!!
