Nothing about me is easy or simple. I’m complex and misunderstood. And if you think you’ve figured me out…you’re dead wrong.Amy wanted to keep pace with me and be what I needed. She desired the dark, but she had no idea what the dark really looked like. There was something else I craved and hungered for. For a long time, I’ve chased it and have done terrible things for it. Dark and sinister things … it. Dark and sinister things that never even cross most people’s minds.
Now I have a ticket to Hell…and I’ve earned it.

JP has come clean and shown his darker side to Amy and she hasn’t run away! She is in love with him and keeps coming to visit him in Vegas. The Dom in him keeps her in line and on her knees. The author in her has her researching her feelings deciphering why she enjoys the spankings. JP has his own family struggles and isn’t getting enough from Amy so he seeks more from Club Irons. He constantly goads Anthony and believes one day he will succumb to his needs and seek JP. She tries her hardest to be what he needs but she doesn’t have the pain tolerance he expects. Amy is giving up the things that were important to her, writing, her friends and even her Audi. She begins to realise that she will never be enough for him.
ONE MESSED UP STORY! It has been hard for me to find the words for this review. This is book 4 of the series, but the first one I have read. I have read other BDSM stories, but this one is almost too much. It is written in vivid detail, which just makes it more messed up. It is hard to describe without spoilers, but I will try. Paul has an obsession. One that grows to epic proportions. Amy tries to deal. Blake tries to handle. For half of the book I’m screaming in my head for Amy to *spoiler* and for Blake to get off his ass and *spoiler*. This story was so intense that I could only read a couple chapters at a time. Now that I am finished, I need to read a sweet romance just to get my head back in balance. Then, I need to read books 1-3 to see what led up to this f*cked up scenario.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book. Wow, is about all I can say. I’m not sure how I feel about JP, he’s dark, charming, says the right things, and Amy was a good fit for him. He’s trying hard to keep control around her and not scare her, but his needs and his obsession with Anthony could just be the demise of JP and Amy. JP is a complicated man, and we learn more about the love for his family and the love he has for his brothers. Their blooming relationship is taking on a life of its own and Amy wants to be his everything and is trying the things that he likes, but will that be enough for JP to walk away from the notion that he can help Anthony with his dark side? He’s made promises to Amy, but can he really delete all the photos of his muse and move on with her? The story is so twisted, I feel for both of them, I believe that JP really does love Amy and she’s fallen for the sadist, but can Amy really put herself out there and allow him to be as rough with her as he is at Club Irons with others? Can she truly become the submissive that he needs in his life in and outside the club? Or has she bitten off more than she can chew? Will these two come out on top or will JP’s obsession destroy them? No spoilers here, loved this book, Drew did an amazing job taking us on this journey with JP and Amy, I can’t wait for what’s next in this series.
Drew Sera is a master at telling dark stories. In Breaking the Mold, we get to see how JP evolves from the romantic sadist into Paul, the hard and cruel monster we see in EGS. Within the book, the reader will get to understand the circumstances that contributed to Paul’s downward spiral. Good intentions for a loved one that lead Paul down a very dark path, a path that Amy never saw coming.
I have read every single one of Drew’s books and she is a brilliant author. Her characters are amazing and she gives each one such depth that you feel that you know them. You almost feel as though you are a part of the story.
I cannot say enough great things about Drew’s books. She is an incredible weaver of words and I highly recommend all of her books
Wow, just wow!! Since Paul made an impact in the Everett Games and Club Irons series it makes sense to have his story told starting with Between the Lines and it leaves you thinking, well maybe there’s hope for Paul when he gets involved with Amy, even though you can’t stand Paul-he has major issues, now we are at Breaking the Mold and out comes Paul’s very dark sick true colors-two fold!! WOW!! Drew Sera did an outstanding job with this book.
I am truly speechless. This is difficult to process, but here I go.
Paul was so loving to Amy, and it was a slow progression, but I finally saw how evil he could be. He was so obsessed with getting what he wanted, regardless of the consequences. This is a great story, and one that will haunt me for a little while.
Wow! This book left me feeling so many things, one rollercoaster of emotions after another. That is what I really love about reading Drew Sera. She has the capability to draw out all those emotions that you never thought you had. To say that this is simply just a dark read is an understatement because even though it is a very dark read, it is also so much more. You get so much insight into a character that has been present from the beginning of her Everett Gaming Series and then into her Club Irons Series. I really could not put this book down as I just had to know more and more about J.P./Paul and what made him the way that his is and Amy and her newfound interest into the kink world. Every time i read a Drew Sera book, I fall in love with her writing more and more. I highly recommend everyone to go check out and 1-click all that she has to offer.
Breaking The Mold is a continuation of Amy and J.P.’s story. Amy wants to be what he needs. She wants to experience the dark…but how dark can she go? In this book we get to dive deeper into J.P.’s world. Some light is shed on why he is the way he is. And whether you agree with his actions or not… they start to make a bit more sense. I don’t want to give anything away but this is yet another great read by one of my favorite authors.
Another astonishing piece to the puzzle that is the Club Irons/Everett Gaming Series’. I couldn’t put this book down but was so affected buy it that it has taken days to be able to write a review. The author had taken me on a rollercoaster of hating this character to loving him to almost feeling sorry for him before hating him again. Bottom line, I would recommend this book – these series’ – to all of my friends.
Read in June 2018
She wanted dark…but how dark could she go? we will know soon.
JP and Amy are meeting weekends and are ready to go the the next learning step but is Amy ready? Amy loves JP and is willing to be there in the full sense of a relationship.ups and downs and supporting your partner.
is JP ready? welcome and happy to have Amy by his side but he still wants more.his little muse has been his primary attention until now. Amy loves him. he loves sher but is that enough? Amy understands that he has needs and then a turn of events. JP’s brother is sick again and needs surgery. He will do ANYTHING for his brother. but is it worth it? Amy meets Johnny and wants to help also. this is where we learn more about JP.
if you have read the Everrett Game series you have an insight to this. you need Between the Lines to see where this relationship started.
Now I feel more for JP than Paul and yes the empathy and feeling good about his love for his brother.
Money is NOT everything. Love is. .
Enjoy and be prepare for some talented mind work…

I enjoyed this book and wasn’t sure where it was headed. J.P aka Paul is a master at mind games and seems to always be playing them while Amy just wants to love him unconditionally. This book takes twists and turns i didn’t see coming and I look forward to what I believe will be another book in this series. I read his book through kindle unlimited
An amazing dark and twisted read
I loved this book. This is such a dark and twisted read that I couldn’t put down. This book was so dark I didn’t see this book was going where it went but it was worth the read. Such a well written story that grabs you from the beginning.
It was a difficult read. When I first met Paul I didn’t like him that much. In the book ’Between the Lines’, J.P. was lovely. Then again in this book, J.P. became Paul. I still don’t like Paul, but that he could do what he did…I couldn’t even imagine.
It was an intense read that had to take a little time. Couldn’t force the reading pace.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I am still in the process of reading this book, but I have to say it grabbed with the opening paragraph and has drawn into a delicious trip down the rabbit hole.
Amy is a Romance writer beginning her journey into Dark Romance, while researching the topic of BDSM her life took an unexpected turn. She met the most unlikely of princes, JP a Dominant Sadist and hopeless romantic. Has their relationship begins to blossom and Amy is working on her second book in her Dark series both her heroine and she are venturing deeper into Wonderland.
JP however is struggling with his own journey and his obsession with his “Muse”. Sometimes the scars of our past and the objects of our desires can lead down a dark path bordering on madness and we struggle to remain in control. How dark is too dark, how far is too far? Just how far are you willing to go to find out? I can’t wait to see what that answer is.
Another great book by Drew Sera that delves into the complicated characters of the Irons family. JP became an almost lovable character in Between The Lines, one of those likable guys, you almost couldn’t reconcile him to the same Paul from the Everett Gaming Series. In Breaking The Mold, Drew brings the story full circle. You see the complexity of JP/Paul and find out the lengths he will go for family, how much of himself he will compromise. But you also see how much of Amy’s romantic sadist from Between The Lines is real compared to the sadist you know from the Everett Gaming Series. I had a lot of questions prior to reading this book, knowing how much I hated Paul’s character from the EGS, and then found myself liking the JP side from Between The Lines. Drew does a wonderful job reconciling the two here.
Breaking the mold is a complex book with mixed emotions, that will having you thinking OMFG!! This is the continuation of Paul and Amy’s story. Really it is more about Paul. You want to know what happens when obsession goes wrong. The how, what, when is all answered in Break the Mold. Even with the answers, you as a reader are left still trying to piece everything together. Remember love doesn’t always help others or even help, sometimes has you taking on more than you can handle.
This is your only warning.. Drew writes dark but this is one of her darkest. The dept she had to go through to get Paul’s story out, leaves you as a reader tied up in knots. Drew writes like you are right living beside her characters. Romantic Sadist, not in this book. Paul knows how to play and manipulate people around him. In fact he is so good, that you as reader can feel for him. He is one character that gets into head and has your questioning what would you do if you were in the same situation. Breaking the Mold is a book that once you start, you keep going until you are finish.
This has been a difficult journey reading JP/Paul’s story. If you have read the Everett Gaming Series from book one – [[ASIN:B018PX4X9C Fragile: Book One in The Everett Gaming Series]], you will come to know a man that is so vile and delusional that you wonder why would Drew Sera give this man a book. Well like any great writer, all stories must be told – good, bad or ugly. You will need to read https://www.amazon.com/Between-Lines-Drew-Sera-ebook/dp/B079WHBX68/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1528410412&sr=1-1-fkmr0&keywords=fragilebreaking+the+line+drew+sera to find a more charismatic man that you want to fall head over heels for – J.P. Breaking the Mold takes you through what JP/Paul is thinking and how he rationalizes. It is quite fascinating to see his mind at work. Don’t let the charm fool you. He is still a sick son of a gun and will sell just about anything to get what he wants. Go out and buy this book to see all the twists and turns of a man obsessed.
Wow!! Just wow on this one from Drew. She has done it again. Loved getting the blanks filled in. Hooked from the very first page. Couldn’t put the book down until I had read every last word
After having read the Everett Gaming Series I had a lot of trepidation going into this book. A big part of me didn’t want to end up liking Paul. I have to say, the author does a wonderful job of telling his story from his perspective in a very neutral way. The reader is able to hear his side of the story, mostly from his point of view. It helps us to understand the reasons behind his actions, which were reprehensible, and see that perhaps he wasn’t an evil person. That said, he was obviously a disturbed person regardless of his intentions.
In the end, my feelings for Paul have not changed. He is irredeemable.
I couldn’t help but feel for him though. If that was the author’s intent then she did it masterfully.
First I read an ARC version of this book. I am completely lost for words. I am going to try and leave a review without spoilers. The main character is unbelievable. I feel for Amy. Near the end of the book things got repeated many times. I hope this gets fixed in the final version. This is a book that is for you to read in your own.
