He’s moody, stubborn, and quite possibly the hottest guy I’ve ever seen.
And I’ve seen quite a few, but this one… I’ve been watching him since freshman year of college.
Word on the street is that he thinks women are too needy, too catty, and overall pains in the butt.
He’s about to meet his match.
As a curvy girl who’s had to work hard all of her life to be a ballerina in a world where I … ballerina in a world where I don’t often belong, I’m up for the challenge.
And he is soooo worth it.
Dark hair, piercing eyes, and a smirk that leaves me panting with weak knees? Yes, please. More.
But he’s not going to make it easy.
I wouldn’t expect him to.
First thing is first. Time to break the ice.

This is the first book in the Providence University Series, a sweet College Sports Romance. Aubrey and Lucas’s slow burn romance is sweet, emotional, and cute, filled with angst, drama, and relationship issues. The supporting characters are interesting, and I liked the friendship and the brotherhood in this story. The College Life felt real, and well researched. I liked the happy ending. Brian Meslar and Kelsey-Ann ODowd did a good job with the narration. Looking forward to listening to Looking To Score, the next book in the Series. I find these authors’s writing style to be clear and easy to read. I enjoyed it.
Loved this story about Aubrey and Lucas! Wonderful hockey romance with great characters!!!
I read an arc copy this book.
Aubrey and her twin brother, Jayce, attend the same university. He is crushing on her best friend, Layla, and she has been in love with his best friend, Lucas, who is head of the ice hockey team for three years. She doesn’t know how he feels though. Aubrey is a ballerina but is in a biology class with Lucas and they help each other with a class assignment in which he agrees to pick up all the bugs! Aubrey is an Ice Queen for the team and is the one who organises that they get to matches and fund raising opportunities. Neither she nor Lucas have had a boyfriend/girlfriend throughout college. They both have unhappy backgrounds – her with her mother and him the result of his older brother committing suicide. They work so well together and look at each other thinking that no one notices but Jayce does and he is very vocal telling Lucas to back off from his sister. But the thing is that Lucas only has three months left there before possibly turning pro will he regret if he doesn’t try to have either a fling or relationship with her? They are so good together and there is plenty of humour, flirting and deep emotional soul searching as they let each other into their lives. But Lucas has so much baggage that they may not stand a chance! This is a delightful first book in the new series, Providence University, by the fabulous best selling authors Ali and Weston Parker. The characters are very much 3-dimensional with all their flaws and foibles. This is one of those stories that you just can’t put down as there are so many layers to the storyline with other great characters too [I hope we get to read Jayce, Layla, William and Jacob’s stories in the series]. I received a reader’s copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here. I look forward with enthusiasm to reading the rest of the series! MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED. ENJOY!!
What a phenomenal book from Ali and Weston Parker about finding what makes you happy and discovering your dreams. Lucas is the captain of his college hockey team but is unsure if playing professional hockey is his dream or that of his father and late brother. Aubrey is training to be a ballerina in order to one day open her own dance school and has secretly been in love with Aubrey since her first semester. When these two finally get together they both discover new dreams and find happiness. I really loved this novel and I can’t wait to read the next book in the Pro U series. Breaking the Ice is a captivating and fun loving novel that will have readers falling in love with the story line and the characters.

Absolutely loved this book. These two are amazing together. The writing flowed well and was well written and developed. After the situation in real life this book took me into another reality that I didn’t want to leave. Well done you two and in Mc at wait to read more.
I voluntarily read this as an advanced readers copy
A wonderful start to this series. Very well written. I absolutely loved following these two on their journey.
The Parkers bring you a fabulous story, loving characters and a happily ever after to curl your toes.
Ali and Weston Parker know how to write a story that pulls you in and it feels like you’re right in the middle of it. Their books have substance, style, true love, drama, and happily ever after‘s that will make you sigh. Everything that’s going on the book feels like it’s happening to you. It opens up your heart and you feel everything that the characters in the book feel. They have each loved each other for the past three years, since the day they first met. I absolutely love the way that Aubrey and Lucas dance around each other not trying to show their feelings, but flirting shamelessly. of course, when you love someone for three years, it’s hard to hold it in. You can just tell from the way that they act that it’s the real thing, it’s not just a college fling. It goes much deeper than that. Secrets come out that overwhelm Aubrey and is afraid she is going to lose Lucas even though they are not officially a couple. Aubrey still has one year of school left and Lucas has been contacted by a professional hockey team in Washington state. Can they survive a year apart? Will one of them have to give up their dream career? Excellent, excellent book.
Boy this book really had depth to it.
The plot is well thought out and interesting
The main characters start off as friends but
turns into more than that.
The journey they took is not all roses.

Oh my goodness if this is only the first book in this series then we are going to be in for a real treat. The amazing chemistry that these two have kustn, ales us want to stay up till the we hours of the morning to find out how it ends. I’ve got to say that we each new series we get from you it makes me so proud to be able to read fantastic books by you. I absolutely loved it. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader’s Copy.
I spent a lot of time reminding myself just how young the characters in this book are. There are a lot of things in this story that I would handle differently but then I’ve got an extra couple of decades worth of experience on them. (Though, I don’t remember behaving quite like this even when I was their ages.) I really appreciated the messages in this book about living life for your own dreams and not those of other people. After Aubrey and Lucas finally stopped dancing around one another, I really liked seeing how they supported one another and cheered each other on to be their best selves.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
The Ice Queen and the Hockey Captain, beautifully written, this story is funny with drama has great characters. Wonderful book start to finished. Loved it!!
Breaking the Ice is a college romance of the Hockey player and the dance major. The two are realistic I enjoyed how supportive they are for each other and bring out their bests. There’s lots of real life drama and issues to deal with.
I felt a connection with the two.
Even if you don’t like hockey this is enjoyable. If like college romance, taboo of brother’s friend then this a must. Another Ali and Weston Parker must read!
I was given a copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Another fantastic story by this dynamic duo. It’s well written, a great storyline and has awesome characters with lots of chemistry. Believe me when I say it is hot! Aubrey and Lucas must endure all the drama to reach a happy ever after. Kudos to the happy couple.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed this advanced readers copy provided by the Parker’s Team for my unbiased opinion
A realistic look at college romance
Aubrey, a junior dance major and leader of the Ice Queens, caught feels for Lucas, a senior business major and captain of the hockey team, back when she was a freshman and has never acted on them. As the story progresses a chance for more arises, life continues to throw the book at them, and just surviving is no longer good enough. Ali and Weston Parker’s Breaking the Ice is a realistic look at college romance and the choices everyone faces. I was really drawn into this one and would love to read about Jayce and Layla getting a happy ever after in addition to some of the other boneheads from the team (Jessie and Will).
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
I really enjoyed this story and the build up from just a friendship between Aubrey and Lucas to more. These characters are both strong, maybe a bit stubborn, have an intensity for their passions, Aubrey with her dance and Lucas with his hockey. I was pulled in to their story, the connection, the friendships and even their friends have me wanting more from all of them. It’s a great read that has a great flow, amazing characters and I cannot wait to read more from this series.
The great plot was well written and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each page the chemistry between the characters kept me totally hooked until the very last page!

Good well written story with entertaining and charming characters with drama and action
I really enjoyed this book. I could really identify with how Aurbrey struggled to deal with how people talked about her weight, how to her mother she could do nothing right. It can be hard but she did it so well. Lucas was awesome. He never made her feel like less than, and always struggled to keep his true feeling hidden. I loved the ending when they both felt so strongly about each other that they would both sacrifice their dreams for the other.
I received an ARC copy but also bought the book since I loved it so much.
I believe I am going to love this series if this first book is any indication of the way it is going to go! Audrey is queen bee of the hockey team even though she does not sleep with any of the players. She has been in love with Lucas, the captain of the team for so long. Lucas has been in love with her for just as long but tried to stay away. These two dealt with a lot of stuff in there lives. Parents that ride them hard, past hurts, someone else’s dreams. But they make it through. I loved them together. I want to see Layla and Jayce get together. I think they would make a great couple. I love this series already and can’t wait to read more
Another great read by this brother and sister duo. They once again bring strong characters with a hot chemistry in Aubrey and Lucas as well as bringing a strong cast of supporting characters. They do a great job developing the story and pulling you in with all the emotions flowing throughout. It’s a story of grief and loss as well as addiction and suicide and the effects it has on everyone. My heart went out to Lucas and Aubrey as they struggle with the expectations put on them by others. Told in the dual POV shows both of their thoughts and emotions , their pain and uncertainty. I loved watching the walls come down as they come together and work through their issues. It’s an emotional story,is well written and flows fluidly. I enjoyed and would recommend reading.
