In the live music industry, Eddie Valenzuela’s seen enough bands to know what good really sounds like. During one wild night out, he collides headfirst with an up-and-coming singer who puts ‘good’ to shame. She’s got the voice, the look, and holy hell, the body too. But after a sizzling week together, the singer who seemed like Mrs. Right turns out to be Mrs. Not Quite Right when she disappears … disappears without so much as an Instagram handle.
Fiona Frank’s only goal in life was to make it big doing what she loved: playing music. And her hard work paid off, in the form a big-time record deal that has her doing TV shows, radio spots, and even her first international tour. Her career is built on spurning love and staying single, though she’s never been opposed to the occasional lover. As long as they don’t last. And she’ll do whatever it takes to make sure that the world falls in love with The Sin Girl.
But she wasn’t ready for the positive pregnancy test on her first international tour. There’s only one man that could be the father: Eddie. While Fiona grapples with the next steps, Eddie goes gung ho being the family man she never asked for, and the pressure from the label is mounting. If they discover her secret, she can kiss her contract goodbye.
Which means she has to figure out how to break her fall.

I thought this book was good. The characters had strong chemistry and have been well written. I felt that the story whilst it was an easy read was too predictable for me. Another well done book!!

It’s a long journey from Sin Girl to Loyal Girl:
Fiona and Eddie have an instant attraction and connection but there is a problem. Fiona not only doesn’t believe in relationships, but she is also contractually obligated to avoid them. She has portrayed herself as The Sin Girl but also personally has a lot of insecurities and is terrified of being rejected and hurt, so closes herself off. Thankfully Eddie is patient and persistent in his pursuit of Fiona.
There was a lot of angst and drama and for the vast majority of the book the main characters were apart or unhappy. There were a few steamy moments but overall the tone of the book felt a bit too melancholic to me. I could empathize with Fiona having hurts that made trusting in love difficult, but I would have preferred a few more lighthearted and tender moments to break up all the angst.
This is book 5 in the Breaking series but can definitely be read as a standalone. I had not read the prior books but was able to follow along without any difficulty.

When the stick turns pink what do you choose
I first found this series with the third book, Breaking The Sinner, and loved it and since then I have also really liked Breaking The Habit. The author has carried on with this fifth book with Breaking The Fall. The author’s writing and storytelling styles I really like as there are nuances to the characters and the way the story-line is developed. This is a great book and I would recommend the series to other readers.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
This a wellwritten and fastpaced story that captivated me from the start. The storyline is entertaining and actionpacked. The characters are wonderful. Can not wait for the next book in this series.

I am assuming this is the last book in this series.. We met Eddie in the first book he was Amara’s brother and Amara’s love interest Holt’s best friend. He was also very protective of Amara and I liked him since then, because he came around..I have been waiting for his story and was surprised that All the other guys had gotten a story first but it is what it is, I think we got a nice ending to this crew, if it was the ending, I mean I am wondering what will happen with Amara and Holt desire to be parent? ahh..All in all I was happy Eddie met someone and got his happeness instead of just watching all of his friends pair up..enjoy!

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Fiona is a female music artists. Eddie had seen enough artists, when he ran into Fiona. The chemistry between them is intense hot and steamy with emotions that makes you want more.

This is book five in the Breaking series. Fiona and Eddie are brought together by their love of music. That same love for music may also be what tears them apart. After a great week together, Fiona disappears but that week has changed her life forever. Will dreams be shattered or the beginnings of a HEA? A great story with characters that have face some challenges and make some.decisions that could effect their personal and.professional lives. Enjoy!

This is an enjoyable story. This story is about Eddie and Fiona. There in the music business. The storyline has drama suspense and conflict.

The attraction and chemistry between Fiona and Eddie is instantaneous. This is my first book by Ember and I liked it. Fiona is trying to make it in the music world, but one complication can derail that from coming true. Eddie is already in the music business, but is also ready for the love that his friends and sister has. Good book for my intro to Ember Leigh.

I absolutely loved this book! I couldn’t put it down.
I enjoyed seeing the role reversal between the main female character and the main male character.
Their love story was so sweet and their sex scenes so hot. Their HEA ending is every girls fantasy.
I have mixed feelings about this story. I really wasn’t a fan of Fiona. I liked that she wasn’t clingy but I didn’t like how she treated the pregnancy. Why is it ever a question whether you are going to tell the father? I also wondered how she thought this wouldn’t cause problems with her label. You knew it would break your contract and she still tried to go on as if she wasn’t pregnant. It was an ok story but I was too critical to fully enjoy it.
I wrote this review based on an advance reading copy that the publisher sent me.
Fiona is a new musician on the scene and when she meets Eddie just before she goes on a huge tour the sparks fly!
Finding out she’s pregnant isn’t in her plans – nor the contract she has with the record company. There’s lots of things to cope with, starting with Eddie being the one who is looking forward to becoming a family and keeping her secret from the record company.
A good read with lots to pull you in, would recommend this book and the others in the series.
The story of Fiona and Eddie is so raw. You will go thru several emotions reading this book from laughter to tears. Ember Leigh has given us another awesome book!
I loved Ember Leigh’s “Breaking the Fall.” Both of the main characters, Fiona and Eddie, were incredibly likeable and sympathetic, and it was easy to root for them both individually and as a couple. Eddie was a hard worker, a caring brother and friend, and very passionate about his career and music in general. It made total sense to me that he would fall in love with a musician like Fiona, who was so committed to her craft. As for Fiona, I really appreciated that she wasn’t ashamed to show her true self to the world through her music. Her brand as the Sin Girl may have been exaggerated by her record label, but it certainly had a basis in truth.
I’m not usually a fan of romances that rely on insta-love as a primary basis for the main characters’ relationship, but in this case, it worked for me. Eddie and Fiona’s chemistry was electric from the very beginning, but they also had so much in common that it was easy for me to understand why they’d fall for each other, and fall quickly. They had so many problems to work through before they could be together, however, which may be why this story didn’t feel like a typical insta-love plot to me. It actually took some work for Fiona and Eddie to get their HEA, and as a result, it felt incredibly well-deserved.
I have to comment on one (teeny, tiny) thing that bothered me as I was reading, though: Eddie’s nickname for Fiona, which was “Fifi.” I understand that it was just a shortening of her given name, but it didn’t work for me at all. It was too cutesy for someone who tried as hard as Fiona did to cultivate a tough, rock-chick image. To me, the name Fifi sounds like it belongs to a poodle wearing a pink sweater and rhinestone collar, not a strong, independent, guitar-playing musician branded the Sin Girl. I cringed every time Eddie called her Fifi (especially at the end of the book when he did it in public!), and I really wish he would have come up with something better. (Again, this is a tiny, nitpicky detail, and just my personal pet peeve. I still loved the book!)
In any case, I have read and enjoyed a couple of books by Ember Leigh before (the Bayshore series), but they were on the “lighter” side (more romantic comedies). Now that I have also read one of Ms. Leigh’s more “emotional” works, I can confirm that I am definitely a fan of her writing. I will certainly be reading whatever she writes next, and also plan to go back and read the earlier books in this series.

Breaking the Fall is a story that at times will have your heart beating to the perfect melody and then have your soul drowning in the sorrowful tune of heartbreak. Eddie and Fiona are drawn to each other from the first moment as the chemistry between these two radiates and can be felt skin deep. However with outside pressure, old wounds and a surprise that they never expected can these two see their way to forever or will they fall short. Their story is mesmerizing, passionate, angsty and emotional. A story that will take you on a tour of twists and turns and up and downs. A captivating read that will inspire you to take a chance knowing that sometimes the prize of love far outweighs the risk of heartbreak. Eddie and Fiona’s story ends with a truly beautiful epilogue that will have your heart and soul singing.
