USA TODAY bestselling author Ella Frank continues the story of Alexander Thorne and Sean Bailey in Breaking News.XanderSean Bailey, the older brother of my lifelong best friend, has always been a surly, temperamental pain in my ass. But sometime during the last few weeks, I’ve gone and fallen head over heels for him. Gruff and charming, charismatic in his own way, I’ve found myself looking past … own way, I’ve found myself looking past my preconceptions and discovered a whole new side to Detective Dick—a side I could fall in love with.
But life isn’t always easy—it can change course in the blink of an eye. Sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad. I know this because last night I experienced both sides.
I went to Sean for help in guarding my body; what I didn’t expect was for him to steal my heart.
Breaking News is not a standalone and should only be read after book one, Inside Affair. Headlines, the third and final book in the Prime Time Series, will be available 9.28.20.

Breaking News is the second book in the Prime Time series by Ella Frank. You can not read it as standalone so if you haven’t read Inside Affair, go do that now. I don’t want to spoil anything so this will be fast. It starts exactly where Inside Affair ended, with a bang.
Sean and Xander have known each other for most of their lives but over the last few weeks, they have been learning more about each other in a completely different way. They are seeing different sides of one another and it’s beautiful, flirty, and raw. They are opposites in so many ways but they somehow blend. But, what will happen when others find out? The world has seen them as a couple for survival but what will happen when the ones in their circle find out it’s more than that?
I love these two! Sean is showing his sweeter side and Xander is showing his more vulnerable side. They are also showing other sides that nobody else gets a glimpse at and it’s awesome. I can’t wait for the next book!

Quotes:
“It’s where I come when I need a reminder that there’s still beauty in the world.”
“You’re so fucking beautiful.” He trailed his fingers up the outside of my legs to my hips. “I’ll never forgive myself for not seeing you until now.” I ran my hands through his hair and gently tugged his head back.
“Just keep seeing me from now on, and I’ll forgive you.”
“One minute he’s kissing me, the next he’s talking all things glitter and fairy godmothers. Wow, there might be hope for you yet.” “I didn’t say shit about glitter.”
Xander chuckled. “There’s my Sean.”
Even knowing that this book was probably going to end with a cliffhanger, I couldn’t slow myself down while reading. I had to know what more was in store for Xander and Sean.
Breaking News picks up right where Inside Affair left off, and answers some burning questions that book one left behind. The relationship between Xander and Sean is absolutely beautiful, and they are the true definition of opposites attract. I feel like this book was more about them discovering themselves inside and outside of a relationship.
Once again we are left with another cliffhanger that has me asking why September is so far away?! I loved everything about this story, and I as much as cliffhangers typically kill me, Ella Frank set this up in such a way that I want to be mad that’s how it ended, but I can’t be, because she has a definite reader for book 3 and that’s what a great author does!
I loved the continuation of Sean and Xander’s story! It was beautiful and steamy, just the right combo for this budding relationship.
Breaking News picked up right where Inside Affair left off, as this is a continuation of a trilogy. This is a story of healing, both emotionally and physically and it’s also a beautiful story of love.
This is Sean Bailey’s first relationship with a man and even though he’s known Xander his entire life it’s just been recently and through this time together that he’s even noticed this attraction to Xander. We left them in book one just admitting this attraction to one another before Xander’s stalker attacked and stabbed Sean. Now as Sean is left to physically heal from his wounds, Xander has emotional wounds to clear from his mind.
Breaking News has steamy moments, but this story is even more about two men falling in love and really discovering one another emotionally, even though they’ve known each other their entire lives. I love how their blinders are slowly removed, little by little, as they open their hearts and really get to know one another.
Their next hurdle, now that there is no longer a stalker and that they realize their attraction is not just close proximity, but true want is letting their friends, family, and the public know about their relationship. This may test their new found love more than anything has yet.
I’m looking forward to see how their relationship is put to the test in the final book, Headlines.
I love how it basically picks up where book one left off. So Sean and Xander’s relationship is finally progressing, but just when things are getting good, I have to wait for book three. So I can’t wait to find out how other people in their lives will take their relationship. September will need to get here soon.
