Michael Matthews has been in love with Katherine Moore since the second grade. In Michael’s mind there is absolutely nothing that will ever be able to keep the two … able to keep the two of them apart. The night Michael is set to propose to Katherine the evening is interrupted by an unexpected tragedy that tears the two of them apart for good.
Three years have passed since that fateful night when Katherine, now known as Kate meets Daniel. After an awkward start sparks fly between them. Daniel and Kate fall hard and fast into the most passionate and intense love affair of their lives. In three years a lot can change, Michael knows he made the biggest mistake of his life when he left Katherine and he will do anything to get her back. Asking his best friend Daniel for help is his first step in righting the wrongs he made so many years ago. Unfortunately, neither of them realizes that Michaels long lost love Katherine is Daniel’s true love Kate.
While attending the engagement party of a mutual friend, all of their paths collide. How is Kate supposed to choose between the two men that mean the most to her in the world? Kate has to push past her heartache and put some serious thought into what comes next. One wrong choice and not only could she lose them both but Daniel and Michael may never recover their friendship.
Breaking Kate is the 1st book of The Acceptance Series, it is a semi-cliffhanger with no HEA until the last book in the series

I don’t like books that don’t give you an end unless you keep buying all the other books
I have now read Breaking Kate book 1, then read book 1.5, then I went to book 2 Releasing Kate , and about an hour ago I finished book 3, Loving Kate. I really enjoyed this series, can hardly put them down. Lots of twists and turns in all four book. Some parts just a little to much intimacy. Plot was great. Gave a true meaning to family, and friends.
U have to read the whole series to find it what she decides. The book was good but disappointed to find out st the end the story continues..
I really cared for the main characters, the only thing I didn’t like it the TO BE CONTINUED PART, very frustrating
This book was well written … The only thing bad is it’s a cliffhanger, wish I’d know that before starting the book.
Wow
Kate has had so much loss in her life. First her mom, then her boyfriends dad, her ex boyfriend, and then her baby. She finally fines peace and with help from her best friend Jess, and Conner she goes to a party at Conner’s and finds true with Daniel. But there is past and present needs to get figured out until she gets peace.
Most of this book was a necessary build up to the story line, however, there were a few issues. First, there was way to much talk about feelings. especially between the men and the women and the men. I can get behind most women talking their feeling to death, but it was too much across the board. Second, I am all for a quick love story, but one with so many complexities and the insinuation that the leading lady has too much character to easily fall into love it left me a bit conflicted. There was also one last comment about Vanessa’s baby that I felt was a bit off for Kate’s character, but I am hoping it was a passing emotional comment and not a real one because that will discredit her character completely.
That was the bad, now for the good. The story has a plot and it is a great multi level story line. The adding of the characters was great and the way they interconnect was set up well. It is for this reason that i do not mind the cliffy at the end and will continue to read the rest of the series. I do hope that Kate gets her happy ending, but what that may be and with who remains to be seen.
I liked it all except the ending because it did not have an ending eg. to be continued……. so I guess you have to buy it to find out the ending.
Enjoyed it a lot
Absolutely loved this book and had to read the whole series afterwards! I’m not a huge reader (never have been) but once I started to read this book to occupy my mind during the pandemic, I just couldn’t stop! Highly recommend!
Didn’t want to put it down
Great read that keeps you enticed to continue reading for more. Transports you into their story like your there on the sidelines watching it unfold.
Dee Kelly is an amazing story teller to read her is to fall into a book
I loved this story with all of the twists and turns, You see it coming, but it is not the way you imagined or has other complications. It was a good read.
I keep waiting for the ending. Son’t care for stories that don’t finish, wanting you to read the next book to find out how everything settled.
Loved the series and the characters
I love this book! Must read!
Love this entire series!!
Liked this book but was disappointed that it took so many books to get to the end of the story
Whooo! This book threw me for an emotional loop. I was like..”D. Kelly is dark.” But then I realized, she’s just real. She wrote about real life drama not quirky storybook drama. My favorite quality about the series is that on the flip side, she creates her world and characters from a place of fantasy…as she wished real life could be. Her characters are evolved in a way that we don’t really find in reality but that we all wish existed, especially in the feminist movement. And isn’t that why authors write, to create a reality that they think would be great. All in all, Kelly created a beautiful world that I was happy to get lost in, cry and fall in love with.
