Breaking Hollywood is a hot and hilarious standalone romance from New York Times bestselling author Samantha Towle…It wasn’t supposed to be like this…I wasn’t supposed to be boyfriendless, homeless and jobless at twenty-eight. And I most definitely wasn’t supposed to hit Hollywood’s resident bad boy Gabriel Evans with my car and break his foot. Now I’m stuck in his apartment, taking care of … in his apartment, taking care of him while he’s incapacitated. Living with the hottest guy in Hollywood, who I’ve had a crush on forever, doesn’t sound like a chore, right? Wrong.
Gabriel Evans is rude, crude, drinks way too much and, as soon as his foot is healed, I’m out of here.
So, why do I keep forgetting to check the classifieds? And keep getting flustered when I see him shirtless? Breaking Hollywood wasn’t part of the plan. But neither was falling in love with him.
‘Breaking Hollywood is romantic comedy at its best. It’s laugh-out-loud funny, incredibly sexy, sweetly heartfelt and unadulterated fun… You’ll be smitten with everything about this entertaining, steamy and feel-good romance’ USA Today’s Happy Ever After

the good: The narrators were great. The premise, though a bit far fetched, was cute and fun. And I loved the little bit of quirk we got to see in Ava. I mean the goat thing was adorable. And the heat between the two characters was fantastic. I was definitely rooting for them.
the not so good: I found the story to be a bit repetitive in a couple of different ways. First I struggled with the use of word choices, there was lots of repetition and it impacted my ability to enjoy certain scenes.
Secondly, Gabe pushed Ava away so many times. It was for a variety of reasons, but it kept happening and it got a bit old. And she was so quick to forgive him! Even when he was unnecessarily cruel to her. I wanted her to make him work for it a bit more. Show a little more self respect.
And his very obvious drinking problem felt like it was acknowledged as an after thought. I would have liked them to address it more.
So there was a lot of good elements going on, but all together it just didn’t work for me.
Well another book that i had of wished a read so long ago but so happy i have read this book. Samantha Towle has one hilarious book with Breaking Hollywood and within the first page i was hooked and read this all in one sitting.
Gabe is your broody alpha who was so funny but sometimes i wanted to junk punch him for the way he treated Ava at time but 90% of the time i loved him and his banter with Ava was so funny i had so many lol moments and these two were exactly what i needed.
Ava was a great character forgave Gabe a bit to quickly but i would have done the same so i can’t judge but i really loved how loyal and loving she was.
I really loved this book it was steamy and emotional but laugh out loud and i loved it especially Gucci now i want to go out and get a Pygmy goat, and i was happy to get a little bit of Vaughn and Charly again from Wadrobe Malfunction.
If your looking for a laugh and great storyline then both these books are a must and i loved both of them so much. Pick it up now and you won’t be disappointed
A fun, witty, endearing, and charming journey to go on with Gabe and Ava. Once again Samantha Towle had me laughing out loud, and swooning. My heart was captured from the beginning of this story by these wonderful characters. I enjoyed every single moment of this book.
So today I bring to you Breaking Hollywood by Samantha Towle. If you’ve ever read Towle’s books then you know she usually has you hook, line, and sinker by the end of chapter 1. Did she pull it out this time??? Seriously you needed to ask that question?? SMH. Absolutely she did! She introduced us to Ava Simms, who is in the midst of having a crisis. Jobless, boyfriendless, and soon to be homeless, Ava is totally inside her own head when she runs over a speed bump. Did I say speed bump, well, I meant a person’s foot. I’ve done this in real life so I can vouch this is a very plausible scene (sorry honey!!). Enter Hollywood’s current bad boy/sex idol, Gabriel Evans. Yep she ran his freaking foot over, sorry I still chuckle over that. All he wanted to do was make sure that the sobbing mess of a woman he saw was okay and that’s how he get repaid. Stop smirking!?! I know I’m not the only one who smirked over that scene.
Ava, being the kind hearted person she is, insists on driving a very ticked off Gabriel to the hospital. She can’t just let him attempt to take of this himself. Some how in the midst of getting his foot looked at she agrees to help him while his personal assistant is off. By doing this she lands herself a place to stay, a job (even if for a short time), and the headache of dealing with a man who is known for not letting anyone get close.
Somehow this woman who does nothing but ramble and does not find Gabriel’s fame in the least bit attractive (that’s only his fame ya’ll, You know she finds him smoking hot) worms her way into his life. When past secrets are brought to the light will they crumble under the pressure?? Or will they learn how to maneuver through Hollywood and that paparazzi?? When Ava is framed for releasing Gabriel’s secret to the press, will Gabriel ever believe her? Will their love survive?? Only one way to find out, pick up Breaking Hollywood!
Samantha Towle has done it again. I absolutely loved Gabe and Ava’s story. Lots of laughs, smoking hot chemistry, and characters that actually grow and learn throughout the story. There were times I wanted to punch Gabe in the junk and times I just wanted to hug him. Ava and Gucci (her Pygmy goat) were totally adorable and makes me want a baby goat of my own. Add in a plot twist, great supporting characters and witty dialogue and you’ve got a great read. Definitely recommend.
Ava and Gabe’s story was very entertaining. I found it part sexy, part humorous, and part angsty. I loved the banter between Ava and Gabe as they fought attraction, but I must say that I’m team Ava. I felt she forgave Gabe too quickly for some of the obnoxious and hurtful things that he said. And, I loved Gucci, the goat. Thank goodness for dual point of view, or I would have really despised Gabe 99% of the time. The story flows. No cliffhanger.
This storu was great, the banter between these characters had me smiling wide. A great easy and fun read.
