XavierThis is not a love story.I hate you not for who you are, but what you represent.I’m the whispers in the darkness you can’t quite hear.I’m the unease that can’t be explained, but won’t go away.I’m your worst nightmare come to life.I’m the filthy rich guy who’s coming for revenge.Everything you’ve ever had.Everything you hold dear.I won’t stop until I break you.RockyYou were once my savior. … savior. Now you’re my bully.I’m the girl from the wrong side of the wrong side of the tracks. No match for your money, your might, or your wrath. But I’m not going down without a fight. When I go, I’ll take you with me.Because we’re more alike than you want to admit. And more connected than you know. This is not a love story.

This is the 1st book in a new series, and is Xavier and Rocky’s story. I loved the way in which these two had a love / hate relationship going on, and Rocky is the perfect match for Xavier as she does not let him get away with his nonsense, as well as having undeniable chemistry between them. This is a well written flawless story which has drama, revenge, twists, witty banter, and is a humorous and sexy read. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more in this series, and I highly recommend this talented authors’ work for all.
This is my first read by this author, I really enjoyed the way she told her story. Hate love relationships are one of my favorite genre and this one even had a little suspense which was fun.
Rocky and Xavier are awesome characters. He’s rich, she’s poor. He’s a jerk and she’s tough as nails. Together they are explosive. This is a hot, sexy read that was a little twisted and oh so good!

Break You by MV Ellis is book One in the Boys of Trinity Hall Series. This is the story of Rocky and Xavier. Xavier has grown up being well off but not unscathed by darkness. Rocky has struggled all her life with just living and getting by her life is so much different than Xavier. Rocky works to be strong and stay strong even when Xavier seems to being doing things to make her weak.
This is a dark young romance but I enjoyed it. I hope to read more from this author and this series.
Rocky has incredible strength as she works to make the most of her college opportunity, changing the outlook for her life after growing up with a neglectful mother that put her in and out of foster homes. She has to work multiple jobs to pay the bills but has a drive to succeed that won’t stop. She is a tough character to get to know, keeping herself protected but as this story unfolded, the moments she shares about her childhood are gut-wrenching yet hopeful. She finds herself crossing paths with Xavier, big man on campus and super wealthy, and the attraction between them shocks them both. Xavier has a mission for revenge against Pixie but gets distracted by Rocky, something that has never happened to him. He has closed himself off to love after his mom left when he was a toddler and his father was absent from his life. As he finds himself looking for ways to see Rocky, he learns some things that helps him in his quest for revenge. I had moments in this story where I wanted to strangle Xavier for how he treated Rocky while at the same time, cheering Rocky as she stands her ground and doesn’t quit. Then something sweet will happen making me want them to find a way through their tumultuous pasts and open each other up to love. So good with several surprising moments and several intense sexual encounters between the two. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Hes everything she hates, yet everywhere she is there he is.
Shes the girl that’s going to get him in trouble. Nothing is too much, no reach is too far.
Fate brought them together, but destiny wont be outdone…
The bully trope really is alive and strong and this book is a perfect example of why!
Intimidation is the name of the game, and boy hes so good at it!
I had goosepimples at one point, and the visual was so strong I almost had a mini freak out myself!
His anger and passion, mixed with her hate and lust is a powerful and explosive thing! and oh my gosh so delicious!
Loaded boy is the character you love to hate, but end up wanting and needing to love.
Angry girl spits fire and oohh I loved every second of it!
One page two very powerful characters and there are so many fireworks its dazzling!
I’ve not read M.V Ellis before and whilst I hoped this would be good I’m so glad it exceeded my expectations and my love for this trope wasnt dampened!
Break You was a refreshingly different story within the current bully romance trend. Xavier and Rocky have a hate/love relationship, emphasis on the hate, with a couple special twists at the end. The book was a quick read and I would definitely recommend it to others.
Well written story, with a wonderful array of characters. I love the inclusion of twists you won’t see coming and there are several. Nothing is as it appears and I implore you to look beneath the surface of these characters. A secret society run by the carefully chosen members, a vendetta and a girl who just happened to fall into the fray.
We met Xander Cross when he was an out of control teenager and he needed protecting from himself. The spoilt rich kid was taken under the wing of his fathers lawyer Viv, under sufferance. Now a few years later and it seems that his attitude still needs some work. He is still up to mischief, however it’s on a whole new level.
The very aptly named heroine “Rocky” lives up to her name. She is stubborn and has spent her entire life fighting through the bad to find something good. Her intelligence is rewarded with a scholarship to the exclusive Heathcote. She doesn’t even bother trying to fit in with the rich and elite, they treat her like a piece of gum on the sole of their shoe.
This unlikely pair have an awkward meeting, an embarrassing moment and find themselves questioning their odd feelings. When things are taken out of their control, a web of lies and deceit are spun to break her. Xander has no idea just what he’s up against though, because Rocky does not back down for anyone.
I thoughly enjoyed reading this bully romance between a young fiesty girl named Rukiya Gordon known as Rocky, and her nickname is well suited. Xavier Cross is one intense rich college student who is not what he seems.
This was a well written book with great complex characters and a great storyline. I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait for the next book.
What a story!! MV Ellis is a new author to me and after finishing Break You I am looking forward to reading more of her work!! This Enemies to lovers story was amazing! I think it’s a fun genre to read because I love how the characters start off disliking each other but oh so slowly you see the cracks appear and them wanting to actually admit their true feelings. Xavier and Rocky are no exception to this and I loved it!! And the extra twists thrown in? I never saw them coming! Fabulous writing and I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait for book 2 in the series!
Holy crow, this story was the riveting tale of Xander and Rocky. Their relationship was the very definition of a thin line between love and hate.
There are mysteries and twists galore and Ms. Ellis keeps you guessing and gasping till the very end.
Xander is the rich boy, the stereotypical alpha-hole, and he has a big hate on for Rocky. I was appalled at some of the things that he did to her, but then he would redeem himself somewhat. I absolutely loved to hate him.
Rocky, wow this girl was a spitfire. An absolute rock star. She gave back just as much as she took from Xander and made no apologies for it. The only thing that I wanted to shake her about was she was apt to forgive Xander too quickly. But when you’re in love sometimes you make crazy decisions that people outside of the relationship will never understand.
Now, this can totally be read as a standalone, however, I have had the privilege of reading all of Ms. Ellis’s previous stories and it was lovely to see past characters make little cameo appearances. It doesn’t take away from the story, it just adds a cherry on top of a fantastic tale of love, hate, secrets and lies.
Who really breaks who in this story….read it and find out!
Oh my. This is the first (won’t be the last!) book I’ve read by M.V. Ellis. And what a book to start with. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review. So, honestly: this book is now one of my favourites. It’s one of those books where you are intrigued from the start and you need to know more so you keep turning those pages happily. But it’s also one of those books where the further you get in, the faster you want to turn those pages and you just can’t put it down. Rocky aka Angry Girl and Xavier aka Loaded Boy hate each other. Plain and simple. But find themselves unable to escape each other. Their hate/hate chemistry is SO good to read. And SO steamy. I love Rocky – she is a very strong take-no-crap kind of character and I love that. She has fought for everything in life. Xavier is someone who you could easily dislike… but dammit… there’s just something about a smoking smokin’ hot bad boy with tattoos… and the more you find out about him you just can’t seem to fully hate him. I loved finding out more about Rocky’s past and Xavier’s past as the story went on. And oh the tears. And oh the twist! What. A. Book. I’m going to finish with telling you this is a must read, it’s hot hot hot and the ending will not disappoint. Now excuse me while I go add all of M.V. Ellis’ books to my WTR list!
This was the first book I’ve read by this incredible author, and I’m kicking myself for not picking up her books sooner!! This book is so much more than an enemies to lovers/bully romance. There are so many twists and turns, and just when I thought if was going to go one way, the book threw me for another loop and went in the opposite direction! I can’t say much about the plot, because literally everything would be a spoiler, but just pick up this incredible novel and start reading. Even if you are nervous about the bully trope, let me assure you: this book in no way shape or form crosses the line sexually. So please don’t let that deter you from reading, because it is just so good!
Also, I love how our female lead was a black lady that knew her worth, knew she was incredible, and didn’t take shit from anyone. I loved, loved Rocky. She had been through so much, and she was so damn strong.
I even loved Xavier, and how big his heart was even though he pretended that nothing ever phased him. Until Rocky of course. 😉
I’ll definitely be reading more from this author! Five plus stars!

4*
Xavier & Rocky have been partnered on a project together much to their disgust he’s the rich have it all she’s the scholarship girl but is she?
He finds they have someone in common & it’s someone he’s hoping to get even with.
A nice book which gives you the background of the story to understand the characters.
I’m so pleased to see it’s part of a new series and look forward to reading more from this author.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I received an ARC for an honest review, so here it is. First of all I must say, that it was my first book by M.V.Ellise, and definitely not last! I love haters-to-lovers stories, sooooo… that was something for me!
I liked Xavier aka Loaded Boy for his arrogance and confidence. He feared no one and was doing what the hell he wanted and I liked it. He had this vibe around himself that was screaming “dominance!”, but… he had also a soft spot for a particular Angry Girl.
Rocky aka Angry Girl took BS from no one, especially not from Xavier. Their banter and perpetual fighting was so entertaining that I couldn’t put this book down. This story was full package – intriguing, engrossing, funny, hot, hot hot!!! You can find here a lot of hate, revenge, bully, many plot twists and so much more. The ending though… let me tell you one thing – be prepared for something unexpected! WOW!
Thank you, M.V.Ellise for this opportunity and for this amazing world you created in this book.
Xavier and Rocky literally burn up the pages in this story with their drama and antics. The story goes from one to a hundred seconds from reading and stays in this lane. He is the detestable rich guy you love to hate and she comes from the wrong side of town. Opposites attract and in this case they are volatile. This descriptive well written story will have you talking about it long after reading.

This was my first book by this talented author. It had references to characters that immediately had me looking to see if they had books. They did!!!
I just love a book with a hot insufferable bully. Xavier was all that and more. Rocky was the girl that fought her way through life. Pulling herself up time and time again by her boot straps. Together they were explosive.
I felt that she woke him up. The twist??? I didn’t see coming. It was so far off the realm of what I was thought was coming. I was shocked.
My favorite part was when she told him about her life-changing moment. This made me teary eyed, but only a few chapters later made me cry when it came full circle. “I have the tattoo there to remind me every day that I’m a different person now, from that scared and lonely little girl, and that I can do this. I’ve got this.”
This was extremely dark (as in sad, unhappy), moody & not your usual love story. Xavier & Rocky were just so angry which fed this lust filled tale. There are also a lot of coincidences fuelling this as well.
Not my usual sort of story especially seeing its YA too. However I can’t fault the writing or the circumstances surrounding this couple. This may appeal more to a younger reader.

Oh dear oh my! This story is not for the weak! Angry girl & loaded boy boy did these two have some rollar coaster madness in this. This bully romance will def make you throw things a few times I sure did. Their hate scenes are the best and can’t wait to read more from this author!

Combustible! That is the only way to describe Break You by MV Ellis. This book was a sexually fueled roller coaster ride that takes off at warp speed. There is no slow leading up, oh no, the story line and the characters are enough to strap you to your seat and not let you up till the ride is over. Enemies to friends romance with lots of scary tormenting thrown in, Break You will leave you reeling. This is book one of the Boys of Trinity Hall and I can’t wait to see which boy is next in the story line. 5-stars for Break You by MV Ellis.
Rukiya “Rocky” Gordon has had to fight for everything that she has. In and out of the foster system Rocky has her walls built up so she doesn’t get hurt. Even with her outstanding GPA and awards Rocky had to rely on a scholarship to go to the prestigious Heathcote College. Surrounded by privileged spoiled students Rocky keeps her head down and tries to fly under the radar, at least until an unfortunate run in with one of the richest boys at school. Xavier Cross has only known privilege his whole life but when he meets Rocky, a girl who is the exact opposite of him, he can’t stop thinking about her. The two hate each other instantly and when Xavier finds out a deep, dark secret about Rocky she becomes the most interesting person he’s ever met. To exact his revenge on an old enemy Xavier must break Rocky and try not to lose his heart in the process.
