Xavier Cross is no longer the high school kid with an attitude that we met in ZED. He is the college kid with an attitude attending Heathcote University. Revenge is the only thing that Xavier is thinking about. Rocky is a complete stranger that comes into Xavier’s world. The level of hate between the two is powerful and unbelievable.
It’s a book that you just can’t stop reading. You feel the emotional struggle of the characters. Book is full of surprises!!!!

This was my first book by MV Ellis and what a way to start. Loved the characters so much… and looking forward to some books about the secondary characters as well.
Loved the background stories and the chemistry between Rocky and Xavier.
Oh and the twists…
This is definitely a must read. Bring on book 2

Romance: 3.5/5

HEA(?): Yes.
Pacing of the Book:
The first few chapters in the Beginning definitely caught my attention, but is slowed and became a tad sluggish and muddled in the middle that it became a bit of effort to keep my attention and was leaving me a little confused throughout the book on the POV changing.
Because if you don’t immediately spot the POV name when it changes, you’ll have to go back to the beginning of the POV and start again.
But thankfully it picked up later in the book, but by that point I was still wavering if I wanted to continued.
But as book 1 in this series, I’m hoping it gets better.
I would like to continue this series to see if it builds up better 🙂

This is a well written book with strong, well developed characters and an intense story line. The author does a fantastic job developing and moving the story , filling it with tons of emotion and steam. She keeps you turning the pages as fast as you can with the story line , moving it fluidly. There’s tons of sexual tension and banter in this slow burn romance. I loved Rocky and Xavier’s characters and reading their story and would highly recommend reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
MV Ellis did an amazing job on this! This was the first book I read from this author and I loved it!!! So much angst, hate, and love!! The story follows Rocky who has had her fair share of trials in life thrown at her. Her hard work earns her a scholarship in a prestigious college. While attending she meets a privileged rich boy, Xavier. Upon meeting the two hate each other. Despite the animosity between them, Xavier’s mind is consumed by thoughts of Rocky. Xavier discovers something that deepens his disdain for Rocky. Xavier acts upon his hate and treats Rocky horribly. Will they get get past their hate? What secret did Xavier discover?
At first the story is slow but then your on the edge of your seat not expecting all the twists and turns in this story. You will love all of the characters! Cant wait for more!
M.V. Ellis had me hooked ever since I saw the cover of this book. This is the first book for me by this author and I now another one-click author!! I loved Rocky and Xavier’s story. Rocky is one bad a$$ chic who does not take any crap. I love that this character didn’t let her background deter her for going towards her goals. Rocky attends the prestigious university where all the rich and elite attend. Rocky meets the arrogant and cocky Xavier at a reception that she works at. Right away these two are like oil and water. These two have so much hate for each other but their sexual chemistry is off the charts. This book had so many twists and turns that I didn’t want to put the book down I needed to know what was going on. This book had me in a ball of nerves and I cannot wait to read more by MV Ellis!!!!
Another great story from MV Ellis! This had me hooked from the start and I had a hard time putting it down till I finished. I thought Xavier and Rocky were well-developed characters, the story had a good flow and the dialogue and banter between the two was on-point: snarky, cruel, apathetic. There’s no doubt there’s plenty of chemistry between these two, and I couldn’t wait to find out how everything would turn out for by the end of the book.
This book starts out intense and only gets more so by the the end! Xavier Cross is an entitled, wealthy legacy on campus. He is the head of a secret organization and wields his power ruthlessly. Rocky has had a rough life. She’s learned the hard way how to toughen up and keep her eyes on the prize. Nothing and no one will keep her from her goals! A chance encounter with a wealthy entitled asshole who just so happens to be sinfully sexy, gets under her skin and on her nerves like no other. Attitude and sparks fly! These two burn white hot in and out of the bedroom. There’s more to the surface of each of them but it’ll take getting close and letting down walls or they’ll burn each other out. This story has so many twists and turns! The premise is so unique and entertaining to read! The characters back stories are rich and could easily become a story of their own. ( hint, hint)I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read something a little different, immensely satisfying, and with seriously hot chemistry between its main characters!
‘ROCKY’… What a perfect name for this girl, she was a fighter. I loved everything about her.
Break You is the story of Xavier Cross and Rukiya ‘Rocky” Gordon. An intense, blistering hot romance that was full of unexpected twists. MV Ellis is extremely creative.
Having met the handsome young Xavier in “Zed” I knew his background story. He was a cocky little asshole but I still had a soft spot for him. However, he was now an arrogant prick on a mission. I had to admit, the stunts he pulled, I was on the edge of my seat, and worried he was never going to be able to redeem himself.
Rocky Gordon is my new favourite heroine. She was resolute in her determination to take care of herself, doing things the right way with her strong moral compass. She had been doing that all along, being put into care from an early age. She was fiery, smart and captivating and I laughed out loud at her wit and sarcasm.
This book starts where they meet at a function and from their first interaction together I knew it was going to be one hell of an enemies to lovers blockbuster.
‘ Xavier Cross tasted like cigarettes, sin and regret. A whole lot of regret. But my body didn’t care. I opened my mouth and we kiss-battled, each of us jousting for dominance over the other. Exploring his mouth felt like entering a forbidden secret garden. The one behind the electrified barbed wire fence you were warned against entering, but went beyond anyway. The one you were too curious about to avoid, too drawn to its illicit danger to resist its mystique. Although you knew it couldn’t end well, you found a way to sneak in anyway, because you just had to.”
This is not a love story. That’s how the blurb starts but, strap yourself in for a hell of a fantastic read. I promise you will be rewarded in the end. All the stars shine bright in this one.
WOWZA!! this book was a page turning can’t read fast enough kind of story. Xander and Rocky’s relationship is definitely a love hate one.
This story has lots of twists and turns and MV keeps you glued to the pages wondering what’s next right untill the very end.

Crazy Ride! This wasnt your average romance.. Xavier and Rocky were magnet to a disaster.. These two were hot on fire, rough and yeah complicated relationship.
Xavier is the rich, alpha male bully of the school. Rocky is the girl he loves to torment. The two have a hate/sexual attraction relationship. I liked that Rocky gave as good as she got from Xavier. This is the first book I’ve read and the first in this series. I will be looking forward to the next book.

I admit the first thing that draw me in was the cover, because just looking at it, I was like, hot damn! He was so fiiiiine!!! Add the trope and intriguing blurb, I was hooked. And yes, I’m a cover whore. So sue me, LOL!
Break You is a bully romance with enemies to lovers trope and my first time reading from the author. I have always been a fan of bully romances and combine with enemies to lovers trope, is like feeding my addiction. Xavier and Rocky’s chemistry is insanely off the charts. I loved that Rocky seems to hold on her own. I love a good back and forth between characters and I was in for the ride. The twists and turns of the story had me in it’s claws and won’t let me be until the end. I loved every minute of the story and I highly recommend this to those who loves this trope. This is another must read!
Well, I do not know where to begin with this book except to say that it is AMAZING!!! This book is intense, amazing, unpredictable, and twisted. Oh so beautifully twisted.
When Xavier’s eyes meet Rocky’s you instantly feel the pull of attraction there. Xavier however is your rich bad boy with good looks and crappy attitude on life. So why is he drawn to Rocky? Rocky is the the good girl from the wrong side of the tracks but don’t think she does not know how to handle herself. SO LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!
So Xavier finds out some information and starts to put his plan in motion. However, there is a twist and he is trying to use it to his advantage. Can he be emotional and physical closed off? What is it about Rocky? Rocky tries to stay to herself and focus on school but somehow Xavier just shook her foundation and not just physically but mentally. So does she figure things out? Why does she feel that there is more to what is happening to her? Then there is another unpredictable twist that came out of nowhere. It was like what just happened!!
Overall this was a great book! Amazing start to the series. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Wow, what did I just read! Xavier and Rocky probably have one of the most messed up, complicated, sexy, heart-pumping hate filled relationship that I have ever read about and I love it! Xavier is portrayed as the quintessential rich, bad boy. Whilst Rocky is from the other side of the tracks, working hard on her scholarship and trying to keep herself above water. They have an instant dislike for each other, but are forced to work together on the Psychology assignment and boy is their hate strong.
The story develops really quickly and you see why both of the characters are on different sides of the fence as well as see why Xavier does what he does (holy crap can he be cruel!) There are some secondary characters in this book who (hopefully) are going to have their own book. I would definitely like to see if Pixie gets his comeuppance with a strong woman as he needs to be put in his place!
Not to give too much away, but this is a fast-paced book that keeps you turning pages until the end. You’re also want to get to the end so that you find out what the cliff-hangers are…. Boy were they good! The sexy scenes are super-hot and there are enough of them as to not dominate the book, but boy does Rocky have some sass in these scenes and Xavier comes across as a guy who knows what he’s doing
This is a must read if you like the bully romance/enemies to lover’s type genre.
ARC received for a fair and honest review.

5 THRILLING BULLY STARS!! I freaking loved Xavier and Rocky….they had the best banter and sexual tension ever. This story flows like river….swift and beautiful. These two will give you all the feels and have you flipping pages. This author’s words are perfection, she knows how to hold our attention. I highly recommend this book…..download it now.
I knew after meeting Xavier Cross in MV Ellis’s last release Zed, that this was not going to be a tender love story by any means.
But DAMN woman! This boy is such a complex mix of villain, mastermind and lover, I predict you’ll almost hate falling in love with him as much as I did!
And don’t get me started on Rocky.
This feisty, abrasive, defensive and altogether epic badass heroine, is my new favourite book girlfriend!
What she dishes out to the men (and women) in this story will have you fist punching the air and cheering from the sidelines. This girl has Game!!
From their very first meeting these polar opposites have some of the most intense magnetism I’ve ever read, and their mental and verbal stoushes and the vitriol they spew at one another is so brilliantly written, it’s no wonder when they do come together they are nothing short of explosive in the bedroom. Or out of it, as is the case here!
I absolutely loved this volatile coupling; Xavier is such an intense and elusive character for much of the book, and Rocky’s hard won shell around her heart so seemingly impenetrable, you will question if they will ever find their way to the love the reader can so obviously see.
But they have a lot of ground to cover to even realise a HEA, and the twists and discoveries Ellis so masterfully infuses into this story keep you on your toes to the very end.
Though I had a little trouble justifying Rocky’s easy forgiveness for the torture Xavier puts her through, their connection both historically and emotionally justifies their ending, that I can easily say this is definitely a 5 star read for me and makes my fave list for this year!!
Rocky and Xavier were like a stick of dynamite and a match… this bully romance was jam packed full of twists and turns, one seriously strong female && a leading man that you’ll want to junk punch on more than one occasion. These two could not detest each other more to the point that they purposely try to ignore the undeniable pull towards one another (opposites attract and all that) but when they stop fighting just WOWZA! … The twists in this book…GAH! I did not see it coming! Break You was quite a ride and I can’t wait to see where we go next with the Boys of Trinity Hall Series!
Oh, my Bad boy! Break You was was a fantastic Dark and Rough, Enemies to Lover Romance with lots of emphasis on the rough! It was deliciously sinful and heart-poundingly scary! I never expected this book to be what it was! I really enjoyed it, everything flowed together smoothly and I’m a sucker for a good Hate book! Rocky and Xavier were the perfect rivals, their extreme dislike for each other only added to the savage sexual energy they pulsed out to each other. Rocky is a hardcore survivor and she’s unlike any strong female lead I have read. Xavier definitely needs some therapy and to be knocked down a few pegs! He is the definition of alpha A88hole. The ending twist was something I thought I had figure out but it was an entertaining surprise. My reasoning for not giving a five star to this read was… I found myself having to reread things as they started to unfold a few times. I started to get lost in the secret society jargon. Keeping up with some of the facts started to feel like repetition, and I got a bit lost in the mix and had to just keep reading and let some of it go over my head. Other than those bits I really did enjoy this read and It really gave me the feel of a good Netflix binge. I received an Arc in exchange for an honest review.
