She’s my best friend’s kid sister. Now she’s not a kid any more.As a forest ranger, I believe in the simple life. I prefer cabins to apartments, trails over freeways, and trees to people. My life is orderly, predictable, and quiet.Until it’s hit by a woman I never saw coming — Hurricane June. She’s fierce. She’s feisty. She has a laugh like the first day of spring, and she’s so pretty that I can’t … spring, and she’s so pretty that I can’t breathe when I look at her. June will only be in town for a few months—just while job-hunting. She won’t last until winter, but how can I resist?
Except I have to. She’s my best, oldest, and most loyal friend’s baby sister.
Betraying him would be the worst thing I’ve ever done. Not betraying him might be the hardest.
Especially once we start working together on a secret project. All this spending time together, sneaking around at night, and lying to her brother about what we’re doing sure feels like more than friendship.
June might break my heart.
Her brother might break my nose.
But I guess some things were made to be broken.
Break the Rules is a steamy, standalone romantic comedy.

IRRESISTIBLE & FUN!
A very well put together read that had me laughing one minute and toying with my heart the next. It’s edgy entertaining and heartfelt throughout this amazing story that keeps giving and taking as the suspense filled twist keep the pages flowing at a nice steady pace. Irresistible hot chemistry with all the warm yummy tingles. I really enjoyed this read and gladly recommend it as a perfect five star read.
ARC REVIEW
As sweet as this book is, nothing compares with how hot and steamy it actually was.
‘Break The Rules’ Roxie Noir is book number three in the ‘Loveless Brothers’ series, it is a brother’s best friend romance with a hint of mystery and a lot of laughs.
In this book, we follow Levi Loveless, the quiet Loveless brother, the one who never got in trouble, the one who’d rather hike up a mountain than have to have a conversation with an actual human being, the one who thinks trees matter as much as any other living thing on this planet. He is cold and hard to understand at first, he likes to be alone, he craves to be outdoors in the middle of nowhere just listening to the silence, he is book smart, altruistic, calculating and observing. He is hot in both a nerdy way and in a hot hot hot way, he will pull at your heartstrings from the very first moment you meet him and you will love him fiercely from cover to cover.
Throughout the book, we see him change from the quiet and reclusive man he was to a fun wise*ss, a man full of passion and tenderness, a man ready to give everything up and to show true emotions, even if they only end up hurting him. We see him blossom and become his best self, and even though sometimes he might still do some stupid things and act in ways he shouldn’t have acted, we understand that to get where he needs to be, he needed to go through everything that he has gone through.
June is known has Silas’ little sister, she is sarcastic, funny, hard-working, devoted and passionate in what she does. She is stubborn and strong-headed but she is delicate at heart, especially after all her past relationships. She is sweet and caring, paranoid when it comes to nature and especially snakes, intelligent and brave, she has an easy-going character that sometimes leads to childish behaviors when it comes to confronting reality, but overall she is a good well-liked woman who is still finding her path in life.
Oh, did I mention that she also has this enormous crush on a very particular forest ranger, that just so happens to be her big brother’s best friend? Oops.
This couple is one of the craziest couples I have ever read in a romantic book. For real, some sense is so funny and so out of this world, they will feel surreal, something different and new and something that needs to be discovered.
Their relationship is wild, to say the least, they are hot and cold and then hot again and then bam they are absolutely on fire!
I mean, I laughed and gasped through this book, like through most books, but I have never been so captured by a story as I was with this one!
Every scene, hot or not (and trust me there were some preeettyyy hot scenes), captured my attention in a way that I lost track of time and had to force myself to put the book down.
I won’t lie, this book was confusing at times, it would jump from one thing to another or maybe mention something that didn’t fit, but Levi and June were worth overlooking that because no matter how confused I was, I was way more interested in the storyline and what would happen next to actually pay attention to it!
Keeping their relationship a secret from the whole town is not an easy feat, but if you also add a tree murderer, a crazy and cute dog, a group of brothers that are as hot as they are bizarre, and you get a surreal experience that you won’t regret having.
The characters in the book, from the main to the side to the background characters, were so well detailed and described it feels like I have a whole movie of the book going on through my mind. Every character managed to leave its print on my mind, every interaction, every dialogue just cementing more and more their role in this crazy story and making it more and more amazing.
If you love quirky unique stories with amazing characters, lots of laughs and fun, a side of mystery sprinkled with suspense, a romantic story that will make you fall in love with a crazy writer and a quiet ranger, then this is 100% the right book for you.
I am so in love with everything about this. I’ve wanted Levi’s book since the first Loveless brother book. There’s just something about the quiet, unassuming serious Levi that I had to know more about. And there’s a bit. He’s not as quiet as he seems. He has a side to him. I liked him before. After this book I am in LOVE!!
I love June and who she is. She’s fun, outgoing, not a fan of nature, and someone who totally knows what she wants. And, what she’s always wanted was Levi Loveless. Only problem is, Levi is her older brothers best friend so she’s always been untouchable. And speaking Silas, we see a whole other side of him in this book. He’s not just the fun loving friend who’s always down for shenanigans. He has his own demons. He’s not a Loveless brother, but I’m hoping he gets his own book. He needs one.
Levi and June are so different but couldn’t be more perfect for each other. She brings out his fun adventurous side, and he calms who she is and grounds her. Their relationship is far from easy though with all of the obstacles they face. But it is worth it.
I don’t know what I like more – the scenes with the brothers or the sex scenes! Levi continues this series in fine form. I can’t wait for the last 2 brothers because they seem MUCH more complicated. Keep up the great work, Ms. Noir. I received an advanced copy for my honest review.
I loved Levi and June’s story. This was a well written opposites attract/brothers best friend – pulls you in and makes it hard to put down read. A great addition to the series. This is the third book in the Loveless Brothers series and can be read as a standalone, but is more enjoyable was part of the series.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is my second Loveless Brothers book (somehow missed Book #2) and I definitely can’t wait to read them all! Levi was the mysterious, quiet brother that always seemed to follow the rules in his orderly but lonely life as an Arborist. June is the younger sister of Silas who is Levi’s best friend yet he never realized she has had a crush on him for as long as she can remember. When Levi acts on is attraction to June, sparks fly as they try and figure out what their relationship is and where it might take them all the while trying to keep it a secret from their family and friends. There is an ongoing mystery that as a reader I tried to figure out while Levi and June were investigating but when the secret was revealed I was very surprised. This is definitely a book as well as a series that I recommend.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
I am totally in love with the Loveless brothers and with each new book, it’s that particular brother that I love the most. This time it’s Levi and holy heck! He’s absolutely perfect!
When June returns home after being laid off from her job, she’s ready to reinvent herself. The first thing on her list is to fall in love with nature. Of course, that’s not working out so well for her, and when her girlhood crush arrives to rescue her she’s wishing she was anywhere but there.
I loved June and her quirky wikipedia facts, her ability to hold her own against a brother that teasingly torments her, and the way she manipulates Levi into allowing her to help him on a case. She’s fun and fiesty with a heart of gold but she is so lost as she tries to find employment in her chosen field. Her emotions shine through and I adored her from the very first page.
Levi was perfect in every way for June. When he finds himself seriously attracted to her he fights it as long as he can. She’s his best friend’s little sister. I loved that he made a conscious decision to make a move and let her know that he wanted to take what they had to the next level. So many times there is no actual decision, just action in the heat of the moment. That action made Levi even more special in my eyes.
I’m not a huge fan of the best friend’s little sister trope but the way this author wrote the friendship between Levi and Silas made me wish all the previous books I’ve read with this storyline had put that much thought into the friendship. What Levi and Silas had was something so special and beautiful I got choked up by it. And it was that unique friendship that made me love Levi so much and also accept that he could never put what he had with Silas in jeopardy.
This has so many fun moments, lots of one liners and great upmanship from siblings that I found myself laughing out loud. The steam level is intense and the closer this couple grow the steamier it became. And holy apple doughnuts, there is one scene where I think I actually drooled and my eyes just about dried from refusing to blink while reading it. Hot doesn’t even describe it because along with the heat was a swirling morass of emotion that took the scene to a whole new level.
Ms. Noir raised the bar to untold heights with this one as the humor, steam and believable emotions grabbed me and refused to let me go.
Really Levi’s and June’s story from start to finish. I definitely recommend this book, I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy. Loved it Roxie
This book is EVERYTHING!
I waited a long time for Levi’s story and it was everything I expected and so much more. June and Levi are so perfect for each other. They gave me all the feels. I loved their sizzling hot chemistry and their bantering, I loved their depth and and the obstacles they had to overcome…
And of course I loved to re-meet all the other brothers! This book is another page turner in this fantastic series!
Release Date: November 21st 2019
Spoken In: Dual POV
Rating: 5 Stars
Break the Rules is the third full novel in Roxie Noir’s Loveless Brothers series. Although it can totally be read as a standalone I would recommend reading in order to get the full experience of all the Loveless brothers, family and friends as they make reappearance’s in this book.
I’m a complete sucker for the older brothers best friend/bests friends little sister tropes they are my weakness and this was one of them. We get Levi the oldest Loveless brother and June in this story and I absolutely LOVED them. Levi was just downright swoony and June was a blast. These two try to fight their attraction for one another but with chemistry like they have it was on! Whats going to happen when Silas the brother/best friend finds out?
I really enjoyed this book and I loved seeing all the family and friends together again. I can’t wait for the next Loveless brothers story. Whose it gonna be?
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.
I liked it but didn’t love it. It started off great with the suspense of who is killing the trees, then the suspense fell off for me. Then it went into lies, secrets and when are people going to find out. I do love the love and camaraderie of the Loveless brothers. With all the joking and ribbing that goes on between all the brothers, it doesn’t matter they have each others back. June’s brother Silas got on my nerves and his caveman tendencies, I get he doesn’t want June hurt but she is a grown woman for crying out loud. I liked Levi he is strong, intelligent and little too quiet for my taste but to each his own. I liked June she is smart, strong and stubborn. In my opinion Levi and June compliment each other. I felt their chemistry. This was not my favorite by Roxie Noir but it was still entertaining. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader’s copy.
Levi and June, our main couple, were so much fun! It’s a case of best friends little sister but they have both been crushing on each other. It’s also a case of opposites attract. Levi is your by the book, never break the rules, back to nature, loner. Phew! June, well, she isn’t as fond of trees, she’s quirky, confident, and a little vulnerable. They bicker constantly but somehow they end up being good for each other. Do they make it work? Read it and you’ll see. OK, it’s a romance novel with an HEA but that’s all I’m going to say.
Since this is the third book in the Loveless Boys series, all of our lovely boys are back and just as loveable as ever. Not sure who my favorite is yet because I love them all so far. I will pick one out by the last book or maybe just have them all as my book boyfriends.
This is another hit for this author. I’m not sure she knows how to write a bad story whether it’s drama or comedy, she draws you in and you are completely engaged in the story. Good plot, good flow, and great characters make this a must read.
I have read the other two books in the Loveless Brothers series and have been looking forward to Levi and June’s story ever since her character was introduced in Best Fake Fiance. Well I can say that Break the Rules was 5 fantastic stars! Levi is the quiet, thoughtful, oldest Loveless and we finally get to know what is going on in that handsome head of his. June has been a part of his life since he was 6 years old. June’s brother Silas is Levi’s best friend and if there is one thing Levi values is his family and friends. He has always known that June was beautiful but he put her safely in the “friend” zone so that he would never overstep and risk upsetting his best friend because if there’s one thing that Silas is protective of it’s his little sister (even though she’s 29)! June is back in her hometown because she recently lost her job with a newspaper and her boyfriend broke up with her the same day. She’s home to search for a new job but most importantly she’s searching her inner self to see why she has been dissatisfied with her life and where she would like it to go next. Levi and June are great together. They start off working on a mystery regarding Levi’s job within the forestry department but the more time that they spend together, the more the lines get blurred. If you haven’t read the other books in the series Break the Rules stands alone however to get the most out of the Loveless Brothers and their family and friends, I recommend reading from the beginning. This book is full of laughs, lust, a bit of mystery and a bearskin rug named Jebediah! It is told from dual POV and I cannot wait to see which brother’s story is coming next!
June is a journalist, when she left home for college she had no intention of moving back to her home town. But, when she lost her job she found herself with no choice but to move back in to her childhood home with her parents. Levi Lawless is her brother’s best friend, she had a crush on him when she was thirteen years old, and those feelings have never left her, and have grown. Levi has had feelings for June for a long time, but her older brother, his best friend, is very protective of June so he has always hidden his feelings. June and Levi enter into a steamy relationship which they try to keep secret, but soon find out that almost every knows.
Fascinating, funny, and authentic characters that seem to be complete opposites, but will find out that their feelings for one another can help to overcome whatever challenges they could face. Sexy romance with a bit of a mystery, and some unexpected insights into the after-effects of war. Fantastic book, I loved it.
I am voluntarily leaving an hones and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
Oh my! I have fallen!!! Each new book in this series brings you extras characters that you can’t really not fall in love with! June’s brother is Levi’s best friend and when they start falling falling for each other things become a bit complicated. They are a perfect match and their journey is fun, quirky and you become so invested it is crazy! I honestly volunteered to review this arc.
4.5 Stars
I really liked this story. Levi is just the best and June is such a good match for him. It was so great to see everyone else in the story and I really hope Silas gets his HEA.
Brilliant – the Loveless brothers keep getting better. Levi is the quiet type but aren’t they often they ones you have to watch. Desire from afar for both him and June and it all ignites when the sparks get too close. Three brothers down and two to go. They should be good and so worth the wait.
Levi and June are a great couple. Levi is so sexy and now willing to admit that he has always had a thing for June. June has kept her crush a secret for so long. This story was captivating from the very start. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. There was definitely moments that had me wondering whether Levi and June would be able to overcome everything that seemed to be pulling them apart. I have enjoyed all the Loveless brothers to date. I do believe Levi is my favorite. Wonderful HEA!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I think I am falling harder for this series with each new book. I just really love small town settings and big families. I love all their interactions and Rusty almost always steal the scenes when she’s in it. She’s such a cute kid with sass.
Levi is not anything like my favorite type of hero but I loved him like he was. I don’t know how anyone can’t love him. He just has that calm, gentlemanly trait about him. I’m not sure if I am even describing him right, I just think he will be universally liked. He’s the kind of guy that most woman wish they could meet.
I was a little concerned with the best friends little sister trope only because that usually means a lot of pushing away. There was some resistance but even with that resistance, we get good quality couple time. I also just enjoyed these two together even if it was just friends at first.
Break the Rules was just an enjoyable read, about an enjoyable couple, in an enjoyable setting. I can see this being a favorite re-read. of mine.
YES!! Okay first off, brother’s best friend stories are my absolute favorites and this author is a top one for me; so when I saw this book I JUMPED on it and it was more amazing then I was expecting!
It has dual POV which makes the snide and sassy remarks even better, a fun and quirky female lead, an alpha and strong male lead, brother’s best friend, it’s funny beyond anything, sweet, charming… I could go on and on!
I loved the dynamics of the two characters; they are opposite but also really well fit for each other. The humor and the dialogue is what kept me turning the pages. There is heat and steamy in this story and it is perfectly balanced between the action and the rest of the plot. I want to tell you everything but I think you should just get this and enjoy it. I received and ARC and am leaving my honest review, I also read it again in KU because I couldn’t get enough!
