She’s my best friend’s kid sister. Now she’s not a kid any more.As a forest ranger, I believe in the simple life. I prefer cabins to apartments, trails over freeways, and trees to people. My life is orderly, predictable, and quiet.Until it’s hit by a woman I never saw coming — Hurricane June. She’s fierce. She’s feisty. She has a laugh like the first day of spring, and she’s so pretty that I can’t … spring, and she’s so pretty that I can’t breathe when I look at her. June will only be in town for a few months—just while job-hunting. She won’t last until winter, but how can I resist?
Except I have to. She’s my best, oldest, and most loyal friend’s baby sister.
Betraying him would be the worst thing I’ve ever done. Not betraying him might be the hardest.
Especially once we start working together on a secret project. All this spending time together, sneaking around at night, and lying to her brother about what we’re doing sure feels like more than friendship.
June might break my heart.
Her brother might break my nose.
But I guess some things were made to be broken.
Break the Rules is a steamy, standalone romantic comedy.

Even though this is a standalone, what an addition to the series. I already was hooked on this family and this story added so much to it. Levi is the odd man out sort of in the family of five brothers. He is more awkward introvert type. He has this odd friendship with Silas. They have been friends since first grade when Silas beat up a third grader who stole Levi’s lunch money. June is Silas’s younger sister. He is overly protective of her even though she is twenty-nine. June has had a crush on Levi since he “saved” her bear. She has no luck when it comes to relationships. Her career isn’t doing so good either so she is living at home when Levi and June start a “relationship”. It is a fun story. The different things that happen on the way of them being together kept me entertained. The poison ivy, the sneaking around and the hot, hot sex. I enjoyed the Loveless brothers being such a part of the story also. They are a story just by their selves. Add in the little things like naming a bear rug, a lost dog, tree killers and many other small yet fun additions to the story and I feel like the characters come to life. I can’t wait for the next brother’s story and sure wish to read Silas’s story too.
This was another great Loveless brothers read. Once these brothers get together, hilarity ensues. Levi is the oldest brother and has always seemed like the quiet one. In this book, you get to see another side to Levi. Levi has been listing over June for some time, the only problem, she is his best friend’s little sister. June is back home after losing her job and is only back until she can find a new job. When that happens, she is gone. These two both like each other, but keep their distance. When trees start getting cut down, June decides to help Levi find out who is doing it. At first, he tries to tell her no, but he finally relents. With that, they become closer, but what will happen if or when Silas finds out? Levi and June share such a strong connection, but is it strong enough for the obstacles that pop up in front of them. There is suspense, sneaking around, secrets, and some insanely hot and steamy times between Levi and June. These Loveless brothers are something else and I love this series. Now, you don’t have to read them in order to know what is going on, but once you read this book, you’ll want to read the others. Even though Silas is not a Loveless brothers by blood, he is still part of the family. He definitely needs his own book. Don’t miss out on the fun the Loveless brothers bring.
I loved Levi’s story. I have enjoyed this whole series and look forward to more. I definitely recommend this book, this series, and this author.
f: June
m: Levi
(Dual POVs)
During Levi and June’s first interaction in this book, I could feel the unspoken heat between them! I wasn’t sure if it was the chemistry of the two of them together, the nature of the situation they were in, or both but it was so intense June’s heart wasn’t the only one that was tap dancing! It honestly felt like there was some sort of magnetic pull or electric charge in the air between them!
Levi is definitely in the running for being my new favorite Loveless brother! I found Levi’s quiet and methodical personality to be so attractive! He is also absolutely adorable when he’s being mischievous or cheeky! Don’t let his typical quiet demeanor fool you, cause in the bedroom he is all passion!
Silas and Levi’s relationship is soo sweet, I was not expecting that sort of relationship between them at all! Watching Levi be understanding and comforting towards Silas really melted my heart because you don’t see too many men being that sensitive with friends. I cannot wait til Silas’ book is released!
I wasn’t a huge fan of some of the decisions Levi and June were making towards the end of her job hunt but, if sex is going to be like that every time Levi is mad, sign me up!
Favorite Quotes:
“Be as loud as you want,” he says. “There’s no one around but me for miles, and I’m clinging to every last syllable.” -Levi
I have the wild urge to let her draw blood so that at least she’ll hurt me in a way that I can see, a would I could tend to properly. -Levi
“I love you desperately,” he whispers in my ear. “Never doubt that.” -Levi
Loved the book, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. Once I started I could not get enough, from the start till the end I was engrossed I was even on the edge of my seat with twists and turns, lust and passion, strength happiness and funny. The story of erotic of sensation. Do yourself a favor and buy the book you want be disappointed.

Levi and June….*sigh*. I loved these two. Levi is the smart, quiet, hot forest ranger that you have to love. June is the excitable little sister of his best friend. Their romance is pure combustion and they have to make adjustments to their expectations in order to be together. I love that Levi is so protective of June, while not wanting to stand in the way of her dreams. I love how organized and prepared he is for emergencies. I love how he is so completely true to himself and unswayed by what others think he should do or feel. I really love that he comes to terms with his feeling first and takes a risk by loving June anyway. (I might have fallen in love with him a little bit.) The underlying mystery they are working on adds to the story as June figures out where she wants to go from her life crossroads. The other Loveless brothers continue to be a big part of this story and I cannot wait for the rest of the series.
This was a really interesting book. It took me a while to get into. The plot is amazing.
I enjoyed the slow burn of June and Levi. It kept you wondering what will happen next.
I enjoyed the mystery what was thrown into the book.
I love these brothers!! I can’t wait to read more! I needed to read a book like this. I laughed and enjoyed this book from beginning to end!
Levi – one of the Loveless brothers – has his own style, a bit quiet, love the forrest and is not so outgoing as some of the other brothers are. June is a lot more outgoing and are afraid of snakes because they move strange.
It was a very fun read and I loved Levi. Everyone should have a Friend like Silas has.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
I’ve read the first two in the Loveless Brothers series and I enjoyed them thoroughly. Each of the Loveless boys bring their own unique personality and flavor to the table. In this one, we get a deeper look at the oldest brother Levi. He’s quieter and more reserved of the five men but that doesn’t take away from the overall sexiness that he exudes. June, the love interest, isn’t what I’d say is a opposite but there’s some definite differences between the two. But they mesh so well, the chemistry is there and it’s felt.
The only thing I can walk away from this book wondering is after she gets done telling the Loveless brother’s stories are we going to see Silas get some love? Silas is a bigger character in this novel and I have a soft spot for vets so I can only hope so.
Wow! I absolutely loved and enjoyed this book. It is a compelling, sexy, and passionate read. The story line is emotionally deep, drama-filled, consistent, well-developed, witty, funny, and moves at a brisk pace. The characters are likeable and perfect together; the chemistry between them is off the charts. This is a must read!!

Favorite Quotes:
Levi is a mystery wrapped in an enigma stuffed into a crate labeled puzzle, and I don’t think he likes me.
There are reasons besides loyalty and friendship that June is a bad idea for me. Reasons like Silas has extensive combat training and Silas is not a reasonable human being when it comes to his little sister.
“June, there’s a bottle of your father’s pizzazz sauce on the door if you’d like some for the chili,” my mom says. “And I think there’s still some of his butt burner if you want to go ahead and use that up.” I make a face, because your father’s pizzazz sauce is a phrase I could happily go a lifetime without hearing, and that goes double for your father’s butt burner. He’s turned to making hot sauces in his retirement, because everyone needs a hobby…
“It’s not hoarding if it’s books,” Charlie says. “Then it’s knowledge collection, and that makes you fancy.”
“There are animals who won’t breed in captivity,” he says. “Is that why you’re not married?”
“Give me more advice, please,” I say. “Fart before you go into the interview room,” he says instantly. “Don’t hold it in, because then you’ll end up gassing everyone in there, and they’ll know it was you, and you will not get hired at that job. You will not.”
“Who is this?” I demand…”You’re being nice and my brother Silas once held me down and farted into my mouth, so you’re obviously an imposter,” I say.
My Review:
I barked with laughter and giggle-snorted repeatedly while reading this delightfully clever tale. This was my first experience reading the feisty and talented Roxie Noir but I plan to be hitting her page like a binge dieter at the all-you-can-eat buffet on cheat days.
I was euphoric over this adorable couple and well enamored with most of the secondary characters as well; they were smart, sweet-natured, witty, well suited, funny, sexy, and thoughtful and kind with each other. Levi and June’s harmonious relationship was gentle, supportive, and considerate, as well as atomically sensual and gasp ~ hot enough to melt my Kindle.
Swoon, Levi is my forever BBF. The storylines and writing style were highly amusing, unfailingly engaging, fun, lively, easy to follow, and laden with sharp wit and comical observations. I have a new favorite author to fangirl, I need more of her stellar arrangements of words in my life.
4.5 Stars
I truly love Roxie Noir’s romcoms. They have plenty of humor, but a lot of heart as well. I gobbled this book right up. I love a brother’s best friend romance. Levi and June have a ton of chemistry. One of my favorite parts if the book is the banter between June and Levi. They both work a secret project to catch some nasty characters. Just make sure you have time to read this one because you won;t want to put it down. I had a book hangover from this one. This is a book you keep saying just one more chapter until your’re finished. I highly recommend this one!
This is another delightful tale in the Loveless Brothers series! Levi has been one of my favorite characters since the first book; a position that was even more solidified in the last installment (coincidentally – or not! – in a scene involving June). He’s the quietest of the bunch, laid back, easy-going, methodical, purposeful. And he’s absolutely head-over-heels in love with June! So much so that he often finds himself lost for words around her. Which just adds to his whole silent and broody persona.
June has had a crush on Levi for as long as she can remember. He has been (rather unexplainably) her older brother’s best friend for years, so she’s been around him much of her life. Still, he makes her nervous, and she’s never sure what he’s thinking. Which is too bad, really, because they probably could have gotten together much sooner, if they’d been privy to each others’ thoughts. Other than the biggest obstacle, which is her over protective big brother Silas.
For about forty percent of the book, Levi and June are still fighting their attraction to one another, telling themselves that it is one-sided, that a relationship between them couldn’t work for various reasons. But at the same time, they are working together on a secret project (which gives us something else to get caught up in and focus on when they are being extremeley frustrating), and they are really getting to know each other and becoming true friends. It was lovely to see the relationship that developed between them before they had any romantic interactions. I adored how much Levi wanted to protect June; his stealing the pen for her was probably my favorite scene in the whole book. Although the whole nightcap situation was pretty great too. (On a side note, I love that the whole “ma’am” scene from the last novel was brought up! I just wish that Levi had actually discussed it with June. LOL!)
As usual, the author’s writing is smooth and sensual, the dialogue witty and fun, the love scenes hot and steamy. The secondary characters are all a delight, from the rest of the extended Loveless clan to Levi’s adopted dog. It was great to catch up with the other brothers, especially the couples from the first too books, not to mention Rusty! I really enjoyed the addition of June’s parents, especially her mom, who definitely did not have the wool pulled over her eyes about what was going on. I did not at all enjoy the section towards the end where most of the angst and drama comes in to play. I thought both Levi and June acted like idiots and I just wanted to smack some sense into both of them. Luckily, they both did finally come to their senses at least.
I believe there are two more books in this series (one for each of the remaining brothers who still need to find their HEA) and I can’t wait to read both of them! This is definitely a book and a series that I recommend for lovers of contemporary romance.
Good story 3 ½ stars – It has a good story but the pacing is a bit slow for me. It has steam, adorable characters but not that engaging for me. [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
I hate saying this because they’re all great books, but Levi is my new favorite!! He’s perfect. I was so looking forward to his book and it was everything I expected and more! I adored June. She’s my new favorite heroine! The emotions you feel with this book is everything you come to expect from Roxie Noir and it’s what makes her books one-click worthy. Levi and June’s story is funny and steamy! Don’t miss this one. I definitely recommend!!
I thought this was a good read! The writing flowed well, and I really liked Levi and June together. They had great chemistry, and I felt like they really got each other. Levi was more of the strong silent type, and June made up for his silences 🙂 More so than the brother drama, I felt like June applying for jobs thousands of miles away was more of an obstacle for their relationship. I liked the side story of the people cutting down “Levi’s trees”, and I loved the interactions between the brothers. The ending was sweet, and these 2 get their HEA.

I’m in love with these brothers! each book just gets better and better!
I loved this book! I did not put it down till I had finished it. I was completely engrossed. I loved the characters. They captured my heart. This is my new favorite!!! A definite must have. This story brings together a man who loves his solitude and a woman who is looking to start the next chapter of her life. Levi has been June’s brothers’s best friend for as long as she can remember. When she moves back to her small town and he saves her on a stormy night, she is reminded of the crush she has had on the quiet, serious man since he was a boy. This story is sweet and I enjoy the sarcastic, serious humor the characters share, but unfortunately this story also lost me about halfway in. I felt the relationship between Levi and June could’ve been just as thoroughly explored in much less time. There were events and conversations that could have been condensed. In the end, the couple gets their HEA as we expect and there are some notable sweet and funny moments. Levi and June just happen to take a longer road than expected.
