My rules: No players. No flirts. No cocky jerks. My exception: Dawson Marsh. Dawson might be every girl’s crush in this small town, but not mine. I can appreciate him from a distance, and that suits me fine. Except that one time he kissed me. Up close and personal. Once is a mistake. But the second time? Sublime. The man should come with some kind of a warning sign: Not safe for work! Hot to the … a warning sign: Not safe for work! Hot to the touch! But what kind of girl can’t handle a little friends with benefits action, right?
The one who missed the most important warning: Danger, risk of falling.
*This is a full-length, standalone romance with a guaranteed HEA.

Omg! These two! These two give you all the feels!!
This is my first book by this author and it certainly won’t be my last.
I couldn’t put this book down. What a page turner.
The author dives into some deep topics, real topics. We watch as the characters grow together, we watch how they battle their emotions and we watch as two people let down walls and let each other in.
Gahhh…I absolutely loved this book. The angst that was felt had me flipping the pages and that ending…..SWOON!!
Highly recommended.

Dawson and Evie each carry devastating baggage from their past. He made himself the punching bag for his father to protect his mother and his younger brother. She lost her twin sister in a boating accident just before high school, and her grief made her the perfect target for bullies. They have danced around each other for two yrs always teasing each other. Suddenly Dawson has changed the rules with a kiss that knocked them sideways! Can she trust the guy with the player reputation? Can she trust that this isn’t just a game to him? Can he convince her that the rumors aren’t nearly as true as she thinks? This story had some truly heavy subjects, but JH wrote it amazingly well! The steam and sexy factor is through the roof too!
This is my new favorite series by J.H. Every book so far is amazing and this one is just as good. I love Dawson and Evie together. They are my favorite couple so far. I read this book all in one night, losing sleep. It was worth it. Loved every single moment in this story from beginning to end. Amazing book.
I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.
This was my first with J.H. Croix and I can definitely say that it won’t be my last! Break My Fall was full of swoon, chemistry, and personal growth. We are able to see how just because the baggage of our past tries to take us over and bring us down, if we just embrace that it is that baggage which makes us us we can truly find the peace and the love that we desire.
This was a beautiful book and I cannot wait to start back at the beginning on the Swoon Series and see what other beautiful stories J.H. Croix has shared.
Break my Fall was my first read from J.H. and I am SO now a fan girl!! Evie and Dawson have that undenaible chemistry but they have a very bumpy road and real romance is hard , it takes work . Their story gave me all the feels . They had a fabulous witty banter that is very sexually charged . They are brought to us as real people with real problems that need to have solutions to move on to hopefully true love . Wishing to find their person can be a struggle but the risk is worth it in the end!!!!

Not quite as good as some of her others but still fun and engaging
Once I dove into this book, I couldn’t put it down. Evie and Dawson have a short history, but it’s an intense history – and that intensity spills into their eventual relationship. While that relationship has its incredibly rocky moments, the both of them grow and mature in ways that make them one of my favorite book couples I’ve read this year. Add into it the backdrop of the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains, and this story is beautiful in so many ways. It’s also a little dark at times, and incredibly realistic, which I very much appreciated; Evie and Dawson aren’t all cupcakes and unicorns and all-the-way-in-love-from-the-first-second-they-see-each-other, which made this story a little unpredictable (in a good way) and a great read.

Break my Fall is the third book in the Swoon series and the first book by this author that I have read. I loved reading and following Dawson and Evie’s story. I found the book to be a joy to read and look forward to reading more from this author.
No spoilers Dawson and Evie story is well worth the read. Ms Croix does a fantastic job with the character and story line building. This story line involves Dawson and Evie who have worked together for over two years and have fought the flirting and attraction til they cant anymore but it is not all smooth sailing for the two you have to read to find out the twist and turns that Ms. Croix has laid out for the two of them

Let me start off with saying I read this book not realizing it was a part of a series. I still was able to enjoy and understand the book, but my type A personality loves to read things in order! I am grateful that I found this series because I know I have a brand new one to enjoy and a new author to read (two of my favorite things).
I loved the overall writing of the series. It gripped and pulled you in to the point that you are swiping your kindle faster and faster to devour the words that are on the screen. Each chapter pulled me deeper into the story of Dawson and Evie. The two people who should be together in my opinion but were fighting it for some weird reason. I love the development of both characters. Especially when it comes to Evie dealing with the demons of her past and how she fights through that, with the support from Dawson. It is hard for Evie to trust what Dawson says, being a playboy, so will these two get their HEA?
I remember reading this author last year so when I seen this one it helped sway me to jump into this one. Dawson and Evie give you what you want from a romance. You get the banter that comes from two people whom at first try to deny but the chemistry will begin something else. As you turn the pages you too become embroiled into their growing romance. You see how sometimes you just need that chance to see if they are the piece you need to make you whole. Being swept away into their tale you soon find yourself well satisfied and toes tingling.
I have yet to find a J.H. Croix book I dont enjoy and this one certainly doesnt disappoint! I loved everything about Dawson and Evie! Loved the characters, loved being able to get some updates from previous characters in this world, loved the heat between these two main characters.
I have to honest with you… this is my first book that I have read from this author, and I picked a book that was the third installment in a series.lol But let me tell you it will not be the last… I have one-clicked the first two already.
This book follows Dawson and Evie and OMG!! It is so swoon worthy.
This book contains great writing, believable characters and a fantastic plot. Definitely recommend this series to all who love ” happily ever after” books
This is book 3 of the Swoon series and the first on that I have read and I really enjoyed this book. Dawson and Evie were such a great couple. The chemistry between them was off the charts. You could feel it radiating off the pages. I am surprised that my Kindle didn’t melt. They both had some issues in their past and they were able to overcome those because they had each other. I loved watching how their friendship developed into something much more. Great book.

This is the first book I’ve read in the Swoon Series and loved Evie and Dawson’s story! I loved their fun banter and they were hot hot hot in and out of the bedroom! Both had a tragic past that held them back from facing and accepting their feelings for the other. Overall I liked the storyline and flow. Cant wait to read more in this series!
Having read a few books by this author, I was once again not disappointed.
Dawson and Evie are just perfect. I’m a sucker for a hea and I got it. Definitely recommend this one.
Really enjoyed reading Dawson and Evie’s story. Their back and forth joking and banter along with their undeniable chemistry made this an awesome romance. This was my first book in this series and I can say that you can read it completely as a standalone, although I plan to read the first 2 books! If you are looking for an easy to read romance with some steamy chemistry this book is for you!
Dawson and Evie both work at the Stolen Hearts Lodge. Dawson is a fun-loving flirt who prefers one night stands versus having a serious relationship. Evie while not looking for a relationship, is not against having one if the right guy comes along…and Dawson is definitely not the right guy for her! However, after 2 years of working together and joking with each other, things between them begin to change when he randomly kisses her one night. A great read to see how their story unfolds and how their private lives affect their relationship.
I usually don’t enjoy books that go back and forth where one chapter is from the hero’s point of view and the other from the heroine’s point of view, but this book was done so well I overlooked that! Still not a favorite, but the story was just that good!
Evie and Dawson both have issues. His stemming from abuse he endured from his father when he was younger, and her’s from the loss of her twin. They battle their depression in different ways. Evie is introverted and quiet. Dawson is extroverted and brash. Neither of them is what their actions make them seem to be.
One kiss. Will it mean they will be together or might misunderstandings pull their burgeoning relationship apart. Can either of them believe in a long-term relationship? Will they be able to have the type of healing that love brings?
Gosh…I’ve never read this author before, but I certainly will be reading the first two books in this series as soon as possible. Great voice, and a story that takes on the pain of depression and helps these characters grow and heal.
Evie and Dawson have both had some hard times in the past. He is known to be a player so when he starts to want her she isn’t quite sure what to expect. They try and help each other out at times and fall hard for one another til he screws things up
