Circumstances in Derek’s career have left him dishonorably discharged from the Navy. A sad and possibly preventable occurrence had steps been taken early enough.
Ella struggles daily to make ends meet, her boss is a jerk and is constantly hitting on her. Then there’s the day he goes too far. Fortunately for Ella, Derek is the one that comes to her aid, and he does it in a way that can change things. Not only for her but also for the others working there. That is if Ella can convince them to do something.
Nothing is really easy for either of them. As this book progresses Derek is approached to aid in an investigation, and Ella falls into a job she’s not sure she wants.
Ella is a great mother and has been through so much. Derek also wants to gain forgiveness from his former SEAL team something that seems impossible. Their journeys are compelling and their romance even more so.
Once again Teresa Reasor has given us a story filled with action, compassion, sizzling heat and more!
I now have to go back and catch up on this series, I’ve missed a couple.
What a great ending to a fantastic series. I can not imagine what it took to write Derek’s book. Few authors would attempt to write a romantic suspense featuring the “bad guy” of a series. There is no way in the early days of the series that I could that I would have imagine that I would come to understand, much less mostly forgive him for, his betrayal of his team. Teresa Reasor did a beautiful job of balancing his past with his present without weakening the history.
It has been a long and wonderful journey. I made friends, laughed, cried and cheered for seven years, seven novels but it will not end because this series is a definite reread. I got to read an ARC but I also bought a copy because I loved it.
Even from the cover the reader will know that Derrick will have a heart rending journey to love and a future with Ella . This is part of the SEAL Team Heartbreaker series . Enjoyed the growth for these characters through out the story along with their overcoming obstacles in their world to keep me turning the pages until the end.
Ebook from Author with thank. Opinions and review are entirely my own .
I’ve loved this authors books from the first time I read them. Each book brings a guy on the teams their own hea. Knowing the guys and their ladies was a fascinating journey. But something was missing. We needed closure for Derrick. I knew this book would be emotional but hot damn! This was good. Getting to know Derrick better was eye opening. His background and what made him the way he was literally had me in tears! The strength he showed to turn his life around was inspirational. When he meets his girl, who also by the way has had her fair share of trauma, I was jumping for joy. She fit him perfectly. Her son helped mend something precious within him and gave him unconditional love too. I’m so glad we got to have closure with this book. Awesome book.
