OH WHAT A (WEDDING) NIGHT (Book 3):
SPECIAL NOTE: The sample pages of Oh What a (Wedding) Night may appear familiar. That’s because they appeared in an earlier novella titled Lady Sophia’s Rescue (no longer available). At readers’ request, the story has been turned into a full-length novel with a completely different middle and ending.

As Lady Sophia Beresford (recently Lady Finkel) passes through the gates of her new bridegroom’s country estate and he begins to whisper in her ear of the delights that await her in his bed, Lady Sophia realizes she has made a most dreadful mistake. There’s only one thing to do. She must bolt.
The bride-on-the-run is rescued by the exceedingly handsome William Birmingham who thinks she’s a woman named Isadore, and though he’s the richest man in England, she mistakes him for a common (but well-to-do) criminal. Since she’d rather be dead than wed to Finkel, Sophia pretends to be Isadore and take her chances with the provocative Mr. Birmingham. But how could she have known that her ruse would bring the gallant Mr. Birmingham into such peril from the wicked man she married? And how could she have known her enigmatic rescuer would ignite passions she’d never known she possessed?

Cheryl Bolen is one of my favorite Regency authors. Her research is accurate, and her stories are just what you want if you’re an Austen or Heyer fan. I’ve read each of these 3 novels, and I plan to read them all again! A great collection for a great price.
“Counterfeit Countess”
Edward & Maggie
Maggie is a Rotten, Spoiled, arrogant & counterfeit Woman.”
Example ;
“She had racked her brains trying to come up with some way to continue living in modest dignity with her sister, but no viable possibilities presented themselves.”
Edward wasn’t any better.
Maggie shows up at Edwards & as he descends from the stairs he sees her & is immediately bewitched by her.
What was likely the most beautiful female he had ever seen stood spitting out orders to his servants.
He was powerless to keep his gaze on her incredible chocolaty eyes,
“settle on a remarkably lovely pair of breasts that were only partially covered by the bodice of her elegant gown.”
“His Golden Ring”
Fiona & Nicholas
The Story was well written, Albeit the problem with them not getting to the truth about how they felt for each other & thier mussing was tedious & repetitive.
Oh What A (Wedding) Night)
Sophia Beresford & William Birmingham’s Story was OK, it could have been better.
I felt Sophia’s Character to be Obnoxious, Selfish & Snooty.
Will was so besotted with Maggie he could never think straight.
I am not even sure how to explain this Story. It just wasn’t Great. I was a tad disappointed.
You need to read all three books in this series, and you really won’t want to stop at one. Cheryl Bolen did a really good job of weaving the stories of the three main heroines together throughout the three books.
Maggie is an American born of English parents who tries to bluff her way into Earl of Warwick’s home. She had some doubts that her now dead husband actually was the Earl of Warwick, but since she and her sister were penniless she needed to try. She and the Earl of Warwick are a matched pair and fires fly between them.
Lady Fiona Hollingsworth is forced to offer herself to Nicholas Birmingham after a ransom note for $25K pounds for the life of her brother. Her family’s estate is bankrupt and she has to go somewhere, even if it is to someone outside of her class. Nicholas turns down her offer of marriage, but offers her the money. Fiona turns down his offer of charity. Nicholas has secretly had feelings for Fiona and returns to her and proposes. They marry on Christmas Eve,
Lady Sophia Beresford marries Lord Finkel to save her sister’s reputation. On her wedding night after being totally disgusted by Lord Finkel’s innuendos, Sophia and her maid, Dottie, run away. She meets William Birmingham in a nearby inn, and William mistakes her for his contact, Isadore. William rescues Sophia from Finkel’s men who want to drag her back to consummate their marriage. Sophia and William have other ideas. They join forces and nothing can stop them, or so they think.
There are quite a few twists and turns in each of these stories. It was a fun read.
