When I picked up Brash I wasn’t sure what to expect, having never read this author before. I am happy that I took the chance. I read some of the reviews for other books by this author and I honestly thought there would be more of a Mafia twist to it, however was a breath of fresh air to me. Two people who in normal circumstances should and do despise each other. But when events take a turn for the worse and they have no one else to rely on but each other the story became quite enchanting. The author gave me a wonderful romance to get lost in and forget my everyday problems. The banter between the two main characters keep me smiling, the suspense kept me turning the pages and watching a young woman grow into her own at the hands of a man who is broken in his own right, was simply stunning. I highly recommend Brash and offer it 2 thumbs up and 5 stars.
I Love a good enemies to Lovers story ,and Brash is a very well written take on this trope.
A sexy suspenseful read full of twists and turns,I was continuously surprised and captivated by this story.
What would you do if you were trapped on an Island with a Moody Broody but very hot and sexy playboy you despise,Could you ignore the attraction between the both of you?.
Mafia princess Alyona is left in this predicament with Wealthy Ben brash Collins.
I loved and read with exctiement the Hate to Love relationship between Brash and Alyona,it is an Amazing story and I honestly could not put it down.
This is a fantastic book and I relished it thoroughly,
I highly recommend it ,great read.
SC Daiko never fails to deliver! In Brash she gives us the perfect alphahole who doesn’t want to let his guard down for fear of a broken heart. Alyona, on the other hand wants to find her forever love. She realizes quickly that Ben will not be the one to give her that. When circumstances force them in close proximity tensions soar and Ben finds that he has difficulty keeping his perfectly erected walls up around her. If you have yet to start a SC Daiko book, what’s stopping you? Start with Brash! It is epic!!
Epic love/hate romance!
Who knew that overcoming their mutual hatred while stranded on a deserted island after narrowly surviving a plane crash would be the EASY part of their relationship? Whew! This is a story that will take your heart places it’s never gone before!
Brash – young Ben from Brute – is a confirmed womanizer, a man who willingly lives up to his nickname. Aly is everything he doesn’t want, and being rude to her is as easy as breathing. Aly is determined to prove to her mobster father that she’s more than qualified to lead her own life, and she’s not going to let some overbearing hotel-owner distract her from her career goals.
There is no way these two would ever have given the other a second glance were it not for the ill-fated trip. Being forced to survive together strips away all their protective layers down to their core selves, forcing them to reevaluate what’s really important in their lives and for their future.
The action and suspense comes from a variety of angles throughout this book, and I was completely captivated throughout. Just when you think their HEA is just around the corner, you realize that their fight has really only just begun.
While this is a standalone romance, having read Brute and Beast gave me enough backstory to really understand the final climactic scene in context, though the author does give enough detail for those who haven’t read the previous books. This was a non-stop read for me, pure escapism at its finest. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I have read every book from the author.
If you haven’t, well, you should start as soon as you can.
This story was perfection, full of love, angst, suspense!
Alyona is the Princess mafia but wants to live her own life and not follow her dad’s orders.
Brash, is living by is nickname! But I would love to be on an island with just him.
They both have a second face beneath the one they have to wear everyday to show the world.
They are changing, the need to survive, are showing us who they really are. What they are capable of.
They bond grew during their stay. It was beautiful to ‘watch’/read about.
What happened on the island is taken from a movie. I could imagine myself with them. Looking at them trying to get back and be found. I struggled with them.
It was lighter in the mafia scenes but I loved it even more. The author has done an incredible job with this book.
Alyana is a mafia princess, who has lead a sheltered life and she just wants to do something she loves for herself, and that is photography. Ben / Brash is a workaholic billionaire who is jaded as far is love is concerned. He hires Alyana but on the way home their plane goes down, leaving them stranded on a deserted island with only each other to rely on to face the challenges in order to survive what is thrown at them. This is a well written flawless story, which had me intrigued throughout. I felt that this story is a lot tamer than this authors’ usual work, but I highly recommend this gifted authors’ work for all readers.
41/2 stars
Aly or Alyona Abramovich is the daughter of a Russian mafia boss, so a mafia princess by birth. In her early twenties she has already begun to develop a name for herself with her artistic photography skills. Multi billionaire Ben Collins, aka Brash,is just that…self-assured, rude and arrogant- in every way. Not someone Aly particularly likes however working for him at his resort won’t hurt her portfolio, definitely not someone she wants to be stuck on a deserted island with though.
Very creative and ingenious ideas were brought into play on the island and made for interesting reading, in actual fact I found it totally absorbing. This fast paced book is super easy to read because of its solid storyline and brilliant descriptions of both the characters and the settings. That’s why I gave it the extra star, the descriptions are fantastic and take you right into each scene feeling like you are participating.
Another wonderful story with these amazing characters, it was great how original characters have cameo roles too. I thoroughly enjoyed both leading characters and liked how Brash didn’t swoon at Aly’s feet on the island quickly, he stayed true to his character for a more realistic time. Plus, it’s great seeing the growth in Aly too and how her inner strength pushes her further. I like the fact that although she was brought up like a rare bird living in a gilded cage, she didn’t accept everything and stood firm with a strong backbone, no wish washy heroine in this book thank you.
I totally recommend this great story, actually all of the stories that are linked, they can be read as stand-alones but are so worth reading.
Wow! Talk about enemies to lovers… this book was great. I wanted to slap a rash myself at times. Even then being lost for so long, you would think the story would get boring, but it didn’t! When they make it back to civilization, things get even more interesting. There’s plenty of drama to keep you turning the pages. I loved it!
Wow what a fast pace read that will have you on the edge of your set. This is a mystery and little thriller that will have you loving this excitement through this book. This is amazing read that will have you on edge and falling in love.
I received an advanced copy of this manuscript and am voluntarily leaving an honest review. I love how even know where the complete opposite from eich other they still where in the same circle at one time they never met before and when they do meet its like the world stopa moving for them even when they have just rich other and they are trying to not like eich other and are trying to hate eich other they can’t stay away from eich other
A good enemies to lovers story with Ben (the titular Brash) and Alyona taking centre stage. This is a style I enjoy reading And Ben certainly fit the arrogant a….e title to a T. With gorgeous locations for their exploration of each other, Brash takes us on a fast paced journey to happiness.
Having previously read Brute, it was great to catch up with Daniel and Catrin, but I did feel that this book lacked a certain something from the mix. A good, quick, easy read.
Alyona knows Ben through her best friend.
He is rude, ‘Brash’ and a bit of a tosser. He irritates her endlessly and all she wants to do is show him the finger.
She is sheltered, her parents are old school and believe she should be married off. A career is a no, no.
After Ben sees some of her work at an exhibition, he offers her a job. Taking photos of his resort.
For the duration of the stay he is his usual self, a work-a-holic, domineering tosser.
On their way home their plane suddenly crashed leaving them stranded in the middle of nowhere.
Aly is injured with a concussion. Ben seems fine.
They go about setting up, so that they have the basics. The whole way through is still a tosser.
Once they’ve been there a while they start to thaw. Ben isn’t so defensive and Aly eases up a bit with her stubbornness. They get along. Just when they think they are being rescued things go t*s-up, they get themselves out of that and get rescued.
Alyona’s father wants her home where he can have her under his finger, no! Not happening. He is keeping Ben from her. They make plans to meet. Suddenly they realise that they need to run.
From New York to Colorado. His family isn’t happy! He is bringing danger to them. When things get hairy. His uncle Gleb steps in.
Alyona wants to find her own way, she doesn’t want to be dependent on anyone. Gleb gives her this opportunity.
Will these to be together or will her family keep them apart. Well written, fast paced, action galore.
One of the best in the series. An absolute must read!
If you are looking for a book that will allow you to forget about real life for a while, then look no further. Ms Daiko swept me away in a tide of gentle angst and true love.
Brash, who usually lives up to his nickname, actually has a tender side, who had me weak at the knees. And, while Alyona is a pampered mafia princess, she really comes into her own, when faced with the fight for survival.
Their bond grows deeply amid the uncertainty of the situation they face. I really felt that both characters grew in depth as they let down their barriers and shared their inner thoughts, which made this a compelling read.
There is always something so satisfying when, as a reader, you connect with both the hero and heroine and I did just that with Ben & Alyona. Their story will have your heart swelling with love and add in the sizzling chemistry that the author orchestrated superbly, I’m positive that you will enjoy the ride. This story has all the ingredients of a five star read.
Holy moly this book blew me away from the start alyona and ben story was so beautifully written it justed flowed i couldnt put it down please ladies read this book you will not be dissappointed i dont want to give much away so get reading
In this book we have Ben “Brash” Collins, he is 42 yrs old. Brash has gone into business with Semion Abramovich, who is an Old Russian Mafia Mob boss. Brash owns The All Seasons hotel brand, and wants to own more hotels and resorts than Hilton does.
We also have Alyona “Aly” Abramovich, is 22. She wants a photography career. Aly has always been dubbed the mafia princess.
Brash talks with her at her brother’s wedding asking about her photography. A month later he is at a gallery showing her work. He asks her to go to the Maldives with him to photograph his new resort hotel brand and upload the pictures to the web helping the hotel business. Aly agreed and goes with him. Brash is all about work, never stopping for more than a break for eating. Brash just thinks of her as a spoiled mafia princess who is there just to look pretty.
After leaving the resort in the Maldives they are headed back to the US. However, the plane has engine failure and they have crash landed in the Ocean! Once they are in the Ocean, Brash realizes that Aly needs help, and helps her to shore. After a few days on the island, they realize they need to try to survive, do what they need to do in order to survive. Aly starts working and cleaning up the area. Brash tries his hand a spear fishing.
During this time all alone, they do develop feelings towards each other. Brash tries his hardest to keep those feelings at bay. However, he knows being around Aly 24/7 he will not be alone or away from her. They develop a routine of daily tasks, and eventually this leads to more hand holding and kissing. Brash is usually a love them and leave them type of guy, but, being on a deserted island with Aly he isn’t sure when they will or won’t be rescued.
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.
Having read SC Daiko’s other books, BRUTE, BEAST, Nanny and the BRATVA BOSS I was patiently waiting for this spin off novel: Brash’s story.
BRASH: Is lighter on the mafia scene & drama but does dip into the mafia world, however this is not the main focus, true romance at it’s best is. This story is so different from others you will have read by this author but one thing you will get is a hot gripping storyline with all the feelings, a match made in heaven and proof people can change when they fall to their knees for the one they truly love.
Lovers of Romance a one click must

Alyona isn’t going to be held back she wants a career despite been a Mafia princess she knows how to look after herself.
Ben/Brash is determined never to fall in love again. He offers Alyona a job but will she accept his challenge? And how can two people judge each other so wrong?
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Alyona “Aly” Abramovich is a photographer. Ben “Brash” Cross is luxury hotel owner and a playboy, not to mention a pain in Alyona’s side. She grew up in a Mafia family so she was very sheltered. When Ben invites her to the Maldives to take some professional shots of his hotel she reluctantly agrees. Neither knew what would happen on that trip, when their plane crashes and they are left stranded on a deserted island. Can these two get along long enough to survive the elements….and each other? This is a fantastic enemies to lovers story and a fast read. The chemistry between these two was perfection! This was the first book I have read from SC Daiko and will be looking up her other books. Told in dual POV
Who thought being stranded on an uninhabited Island was safer in many ways than wanting to live on your own in New York. It is if you are a mafia princess with a Bratva boss as an overprotective father. Ben was a grumpy driven businessman who didn’t give Aly the time of day but life altering circumstances changed all that and when Aly and Ben fell in love on a desert Island who knew they were safer there than at home. Ms Daiko doesn’t disappoint though and turns adversity into opportunity and a happy ever after love story.
Brash: An Enemies to Lovers Romance was a good read by S.C. Daiko. Brash, Ben Collins, is a notorious playboy. He drives Aly, a mafia princess, insane with his condescension. All of her hate towards him changes when their plane crashes and they become trapped on a deserted island. She can see through Brash and see his damage from his past. I really enjoyed reading Brash and Aly’s story. I can’t wait to read more by the author.
