Brash by S.C. Daiko is a good summer read that has a dash of suspense along with some romance. I would not say a mafia read, more of a spin-off, which I am curious about.
Ben “Brash”, which I can think of other names besides Brash, is true to his name. Blunt, arrogant with a pain in the rear personality. Which fits him well. He was true to character. I enjoyed reading about those layers melting away through the book. The brick wall he has built would withstand a typhoon. When he is backed into a corner or, let’s say, stranded on an island with a gorgeous woman, that brick wall starts to chip away.
Strong-willed, Aly is determined to make a name for herself as a professional photographer without her parents’ help. Mafia Princess has a nice ring to it until you realize how controlling her parents can be. Brash offers Aly a job at one of his hotels in the Maldives. Knowing his reputation and also his personality, she takes on the job because really what could go wrong?
I enjoyed this book, it put me right in the middle of the Maldives. Having not read the original books that this spin-off came from, I might have understood the characters more if I would have read them.. You might want to make sure and read the others of this series first. Besides all that, it is a good read. You definitely feel the chemistry between Brash and Aly. The writing of the Maldives puts you right there in the gorgeous Indian Ocean.
BRASH by SC Daiko is the story of Alyona ‘Aly’ Abramovich and Ben ‘Brash’ Collins.
Ben and Aly meet at wedding where right off the bat they rub each other the wrong way. Ben acts like Aly is the mafia princess with nothing but air in her head where Aly sees him as nothing but a playboy boss. Ben is actually in business with her father but they are legit. When they meet again when he attends her photographer showing of her work, they hit heads again. Although this time he offers her an assignment to take pictures of their Maldives island resort. Since Aly is just coming into breaking free of her princess label and moving into the photographed world she accepts the job.
Of course they keep butting heads but what happens is that they end up being in a accident that they crash into the ocean where they end up on a island until they are saved.
Loved this author’s writing and enjoyed their story.
Brash: An Enemies to Lovers Romance is an enemies to lovers standalone romance. This book can easily be read as a standalone. I haven’t had a chance to read Brute or Beast but I have read Nanny and the Bratva Boss (which I loved). Both Brute & Beast are on my Kindles and I will go back and read them ASAP.
Alyona “Aly” Abramovich, is the daughter of a Bratva Boss and Ben “Brash” Collins, is a hotel developer & is a billionaire.
Aly does not like Brash (he does live up to his nickname) but after she is trapped on a tropical island with only Brash, she comes to like him and maybe even love him. Brash soon realizes Aly wasn’t a “dumb blonde” after-all. She showed him she has survival skills.
I love how SC Daiko combines suspense and romance to create a book that I can sit and read for hours and can get lost in.
I loved reading Brash and I always look for more books by this author.
This is another super read from SC Daiko I have read several books from this author so I could not wait to read this one and what a super read it was. I love a good enemies to lovers romance and this one sucked me right in and kept me hooked until the very end. I just loved the banter between these two and the chemistry was off the charts hot. A super read I would recommend it
S.C. Daiko is a 5 1-Click Author!
Brash is a ‘lighter’ read than S.C. Daiko’s other mafia books but just as good! A great read that I finished quickly because I didn’t want to put it down. I loved the story and characters.
Aly is a sheltered mafia princess who is still hanging onto her V card because she has a Bull aka bodyguard following her around 24/7. She is ready to spread her wings and follow her dream of being a photographer. Aly meets the handsome, rude, rich playboy hotel owner Ben aka Brash.
It was so much fun watching these two that were attracted to each other and disliked each other at first and then grow to depend on each other and fall in love. There was so many different feels in the book. I loved it.
Strip away the material things.
Alonya “Aly” Is a mafia princess. She’s 22 and a wannabe be photographer.
Ben Collins”Brash” is an alphahole.
He’s in his 30s older wealthy a playboy.
On a flight back the crash on an isolated island.
Stripped of their material things they must learn to survive and find the under the layers who they really are.

Marooned on a deserted island with someone you don’t like……….Can you get along?
Well Brash is definitely brash. I literally hated him at the beginning of this story and really wanted to slap him upside his head!!! With that said…………….
Brash is the first book I have read by SC Daiko so I was not quite to sure what to expect. But the book description looked like it could be really entertaining so I gave it a shot. I came away with mixed feelings with this story as I really enjoyed most of it but the the H I just had a hard time with. But in the end he sort of won me over, not fully but enough that I did not want to hit him any more.
The story of Brash and Aly was really about two people who have to come together in order to survive after crash landing on a deserted island. They end up becoming closer than either would have ever thought at the beginning as they get to know each other and let down some of their walls. Eventually it becomes love. But the real question is will it last when they get back to the real world or are their feelings left on the island once they are rescued?
is an interesting story with a solid story-line and good characters.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
This is a quick and easy read. The storyline is well-crafted, intriguing, suspenseful, has drama and steam. The characters are defined, and likable with sizzling chemistry. I liked it.

Unlike any romance novel I’ve ever read – in a great way – Brash is a love story that has a truly unique voice. The story follows Aly, a mafia princess who is trying to make her own way in life. She meets Ben (known as Brash for his abrasive personality), and agrees to photograph his new hotel in the Maldives. The two are total opposites – reserved vs brash, innocent vs experienced, young vs older – and they dislike each other from the start. When their plane goes down and leaves them on a deserted island together, they must work together to remain alive and begin to see the positives in each other.
The writing style is fantastic, giving distinct voices to these characters. I loved the forced closeness of them being stranded together. It’s a totally unique spin on the damaged playboy trope – what happens when you take away his options and he actually needs to get to know a woman? This is an extremely steamy book, though all of the intimacy serves to drive the story forward, so it didn’t feel overwhelming. It’s sexy, romantic and a little dirty with a well developed relationship between the characters. The story was so unique that it was hard to put down, and there was no point when I didn’t feel connected to the characters.

This is a great enemies to lovers. Fun, sexy, suspenseful, and fast-paced! I love the ending! The duet narration is well done. Both narrators have a great voice. I loved it!
Great Story & Audible Listen Survivor Style Romance!
Brash: An Enemies to Lovers Romance
By: SC Daiko.
Narrated by: Hugo Wylde, Kinsey Cass
I knew this book was going to be great as soon as I read it’s synopsis. A brash billionaire playboy and a mafia princess left stranded on a deserted island after surviving a plane crash in the Indian Ocean near the Maldives. This is my first book by SC Daiko and I enjoyed her writing style and the storylines she created, they are original and held my interest from start to end. Aly is the mafia princess, she is also an aspiring photographer, though her father does not take her agree with her career choice, he has plans for her, which include a husband of his choosing. Aly first met Ben Collins, the billionaire playboy was sitting opposite Aly at her bother’s wedding, he is a business partner with Aly’s father and also a cocky arrogant alpha-hole. Lets say they did not exactly hit it off. He sees her again when he attended an opening at the art gallery where some of her photos were being featured. Liking her work he tells her he has an assignment for her, he wants her to take photos of his resort on one of the island in the Maldives to feature on his website and brochures. And he does not ask he tells her when and where to meet. He sure lives up to his nickname of “Brash” but she looks at the job as a good career opportunity. The trip goes well, she gets great photos, she also sees that Brash is a workaholic with little to no people skills. Woman want him for his looks and money but he has no interest in settling down. He is a love them and leave them type of guy. Just leaving the island the seaplane they were on crashes, they are separated from the fuselage, Ben saves Aly and they are floating hoping to be rescued. No rescue in site, Ben gets Aly to an island that is uninhabited. The two are stuck there for weeks, during that time they get to know each other, Aly learns he has issues with woman stemming from a broken heart. But Aly is crumbling that wall around his heart and starts to see there is a caring human inside of him. I liked how this story played out, it was well plotted and included plenty of drama, angst, some suspenseful twists and turns as well as a hot, slow burn enemies to lovers romance. SC Daiko thank you for this great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Hugo Wylde and Kinsey Cass are new to me narrators and I loved their work. They are entertaining storytellers and terrific voice performers. They bring these characters to life, give each their own voice and personality. They did a great job projecting the emotions of the characters, the drama of the story into their performance. Hugo Wylde’s take on Brash was perfectly alpha with attitude and then swoon worthy when he warmed towards Aly. His accents were great too. Kinsey Cass’ Aly was great too, she gave her a lot heart and strength as well. Thank you for this great listen
I love these enemies to lovers romance story. S.C. brings a story of a mafia princess and a multi-billionaire to life with stranding on an island that neither one of them would ever want on their worst enemy.
When Ben and Aly are in a plane crash and are stranded on an island together they will have to deal with each other to survive until someone can find them and save them. But is there another party involved that was trying to kill them?
This book has some wonderful characters and the chemistry is off the charts. I loved it and will be rereading it.
Well-written engaging story
This the first time I am reading a book by SC Daiko. Ms. Daiko developed her characters so that we can relate to them. Sometimes we love them and sometimes we hate them. The characters are believable within the context of the story. While this story does have mafia ties Ben, or Brash as he is called, is not connected. Alyona is a mafia princess but her father has also gone legit. Alyona wants nothing more than to live a normal life and be a photographer. She takes a job with Brash to photograph his rest in the Maldives. Aly is aggravated by Ben’s attitude but there is a spark of something else. Ben is irritating to Aly because he feels something for her and he doesn’t want to. Until there is no choice for them to interact because they crash and are marooned on a deserted island. They have to get along and rely on each other from this comes love. There are some very steamy scenes between these two! I definitely recommend this book!
We really enjoyed this island romance story. The story had great characters that we absolutely loved. The story was super hot and steamy and one than contained a playboy and a women who lead a sheltered life but, one that wanted to spread her wings
Brash lived up to his name.We found him to be sexy and sinful,a panty dropper, possessive, protective and a bit of a-a-hole more than a few times but, we also saw a man grow up and finally deal with his feelings that kept him living in the past .We saw Brash finally experiencing real happiness something that he hadn’t felt in a really long time.
Aly was sweet and kind and not the spoiled Mafia princess everyone thinks but, she lead a sheltered life that left her innocent in more ways than one.I loved that she was creative and resourceful and protective and we loved seeing her also grow and spread her wings.
This was a really a fun and sexy read. This couple had tons of chemistry that lead to a lot of hot and dirty sex .It was fun and had a bit of suspense but, it also had a few surprises along the way.The story had the perfect ending and we loved seeing how it all played out .We loved seeing that do to this couples adventures it changed both them for the better in more ways than one and that their outlook on life. Their love for one another and the simplest things are now what made them the happiest they have ever been and we loved that about them.
An enjoyable read to pass the time.
I quite enjoyed this story. It began with Alyona and Brash prejudging each other and not liking what they saw. Their isolated time together showed their inner selves, and the connection grew. There were steamy scenes, some violence, and some great survival techniques, along with a strong love for each other and for family. I recommend this story.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
These two are total deliciousness. Brash is an Alphahole of the first kind. Aly is a Mafia Princess unlike none you have met. These two clash relentlessly. However the fates have things happening to get them together. When they’re forced to co habitate things start turning hot. But what happens when they’re back into their regular routine? Will they remain together? I love this book and author.
This book was a first for me by this author and I was not disappointed. This was a fun, interesting read that definitely had me hooked. When the book started I had no idea what to expect and was pleasantly surprised at the events that lead Brash and Aly to be stuck together.
I love a good enemies to lovers romance and this one was fabulous. The chemistry between the characters was off the charts and the two of them were both very strong characters. I will definitely be looking to get my hands on the other books by this author so that I can learn about some of these other characters stories. By Alisa
Ben Collins earned his nickname “Brash”.confident, rude, and brazen. He does things because he can. He also hides a broken heart. Aly is a mafia princess ready to flee the castle. She wants to be independent and start her career. Ben and Aly don’t hit it off when they first meet but ending up on a deserted island will change things. Good story with action, adventure and great characters.

Another great page turner and pleaser from SC Daiko. Two fabulous characters in Brash and Aly, loved the way their love evolved throughout the story and the unexpected twists were an added bonus, seeing the depth of their feelings grow.
Although this is a stand-alone was good to meet characters from previous books and learn how their lives have changed.
5* read
Brash and Aly were enemies, mostly due to Brash’s attitude. It took getting lost at sea to turn him around. He’s that alpha jerk we love to hate from the beginning, but it wasn’t until they were lost at sea that he started to come around. The chemistry between them took a sharp turn, and once it did, things changed for them in the best way. Good, witty dialogue woven into an intriguing romance.
