“”This was the Kingdom my heart resided and I finally return.”
This was a sweet story about forgiveness, soul searching, healing of the heart and second chances. It’s also has some twist and unexpected turns. Intrigue and simmering passions are very present. I love Mia’s writing and having a new book of her Sign of Love series was precious.
Brant’s decides to go back home after 10 years of absence from Graystone Hill. The news of his fathers illness from an unexpected young woman makes that decision more easy. He is an imposing, gorgeous, wealthy man in New York. Always surround with power and beautiful woman but Isabelle ( Belle ) Ferris has something he never wanted and unexpectedly ignites a burning passion within him. This two have strong personalities, some misconceptions and misunderstandings will make this two bicker non stop denying what’s bruins. Neither one of them knows what to do with all the feelings. This will make the slow burn of passion more intense and delicious.
The way Mia describes the scenery of the Graystone Hills feels like been there with the sun and wind in your skin. If you like audiobooks I completely recommended this book for you.
This author is just brilliant every time and I have loved each book I’ve read from her. The prologue alone was so emotional that you just know that it’s going to be a story that will take you down a heartbreaking road but that love is very central. A definite must read; one you don’t want to miss!
Isabelle “Belle” has been through a terrible ordeal and tries do the best she can to get through another day. She has a great job at a horse farm and has found some peace doing what she loves; trying to heal what’s been broken for so long. But the past has a way of creeping up on you and when that happens, Grant and even Belle will try to do whatever it takes to keep afloat…
And who knows they may find a love that’s worth fighting for…
Every time I read “The End” in a Mia Sheridan book, I always think to myself, this is exactly why she’s one of my absolute favorite authors. She amazes me every single time and Brant’s Return was no exception. It’s an incredible book, the writing is perfection and the storyline is heartbreaking, endearing and hopeful.
Brant’s Return starts off with a punch to the heart and a person’s worst nightmare come true. My heart just broke for poor Isabelle. Three years later, she’s moved on and is now working at a horse farm. Brant’s family has owned the horse farm for generations and returns home after learning about his father, Harrison’s terminal illness. Brant and Isabelle’s first encounter started out with quite the heated banter. Despite the same, sparks fly, there is an instant connection between them and thus is the beginning of a beautiful enemies to lovers story. Although they’ve suffered tragedy and heartache, there is so much goodness in the both of them. The timing as to when their relationship began developing was perfect. And reading page after page as to how their relationship flourished was oh so romantic. The emotions, sincerity and passion was palpable. Brant’s Return is also about forgiveness and healing not only for Brant and Isabelle, but Harrison as well.
This page-turner also has a great dramatic edge to it as there were some twists, turns and surprises that I didn’t see coming. I swooned so hard over Brant and Isabelle, I loved how their story ended and my heart felt complete. I highly recommend this book.
Mia brings us another heartfelt story involving, love, loss, redemption and forgiveness. The prologue starts this story off with a bang, leaving me with my heart in my throat, wondering what had happened, and where the events that took place were going to fall in the book.
We already know from the blurb that Brant has been off in New York City, managing high end bars, seemingly leaving his Kentucky roots behind. Until he gets a call one day from a woman who claims to be his father’s secretary, telling him about his father’s illness.
That woman is Isabelle Farris, who has been through the unimaginable in her young life. She knows how quickly your whole life can change, and after finding out that her boss hasn’t had any contact with his son in thirteen years, she tries to bring the two together.
Brant and Isabelle don’t start off on the right foot, with him being very suspicious of her intentions, and her thinking he is a “buttoned up blowhard”. But the more time they are around each other, the more they feel an intense attraction they can’t ignore.
There is plenty of emotion throughout this story. The more Brant and Belle get to know each other, the more we find out about the events that took place in their pasts. And it is heartbreaking to say the least. Along the way, there is some mystery surrounding Belle’s past that she is trying to figure out, and Brant is trying to resolve the feelings he has towards his father.
Mia always weaves a story that takes the reader on a journey, and this one deals with how to continue living after suffering great loss. And the setting of Graystone Hill played a huge part in the healing process that both characters go through. As do the horses that Belle loves so much. And Mia’s description of the property was so vivid I could see it all in my mind. The side characters played a big part in this story, most notably Brant’s father.
Another beautiful story from Mia, one that left me smiling and more importantly, reminding me how important it is to appreciate what you have, because it could all change in the blink of an eye.
