Six years ago, Brandon Fierro left the Bad Blood Crew in his rearview mirror. Only one problem—he never forgot the girl he left behind. But his big plans to go back for her as alpha of his own crew turned to blood and ashes, and all he has left is a broken panther, a revenge mission, and four ghosts that won’t leave him the hell alone… Kitty Jameson has spent the last six years trying NOT to … NOT to think about Brandon—her childhood protector, her best friend, her first crush—and the boy who broke her heart when he left the crew without even a goodbye.
But when Kitty’s white wolf genes kick in and start giving her visions of Brandon in deadly danger, she knows she has to find him—even if she can’t forgive him. After all, she was raised a Bad Blood—which means if anybody’s going to kill that friend-abandoning jerk, it’s her.
Unfortunately, Brandon is as hot and sexy and stubborn and maddening as ever—and just as protective. He insists he doesn’t want Kitty to be part of his train-wreck of a life, but he can’t seem to let her go.
Can Brandon and Kitty grab their second chance at happily ever after, before Brandon’s enemies tear them apart forever?

Brandon’s Mate, the first story in the Wild Blood Shifters series is, to say the least, intense. Although this series is a next-generation spin-off from the Bad Blood Shifters series I wasn’t lost for any light background we need is given in the dialogue. I will go back to the previous series at some point, but I do not feel I must right now in order to enjoy this newer series.
Let’s be frank, Brandon is a mess when we meet him. He left his pack years ago or rather was asked to leave by his Alpha. Brandon was out of control then, he’s an alpha himself and was on the verge of an alpha challenge against a leader he liked, respected, but his panther was simply too alpha for him to remain. He left in the dead of night, not saying good-bye to his friends or to the young girl who had his heart. They were better off without him in his opinion and being kicked out of the Bad Bloods just proved that fact.
The years in between then and now were rough, and there were a few times when Brandon believed in a better future until that was also ripped away from him… only this time, death was the cause. Now he’s haunted by ghosts, actually, four ghosts who eye him with anger and accusations. He’s in this tiny town to get justice for those lost souls – and if he loses his own life in the process, at least no one else he cares for will… until the past comes crashing into the present in the form of Kitty, the girl he left behind.
Kitty isn’t a little girl anymore, devastated by her best friend, the man she dreamed of one day being with forever, leaving her behind. No. Today this Kitty is kick-butt and take names and loves with a fierceness that is undeniable. Kitty has a few secrets, she has prophetic dreams and her monster wolf is more often than not out of her control. She knows Brandon is in trouble and she, along with two friends, men who once considered Brandon a friend are on their way to step into chaos whether Brandon wants them there or not.
I was so easily drawn into this world. Brandon and Kitty are perfect for each other, even in their perceived imperfections. While I liked Brandon, even understood his reasons for his actions it was Kitty who stole my heart in this one. Kitty is adorable and fierce, gentle and deadly, funny and snarky – she’s the embodiment of a woman’s anger at her mate leaving her and the take names attitude of you need my help so shut up already. The danger that this crew is up against is deadly, as they’ve already proven. Yet, Brandon is determined to bring those responsible down – but there are a few surprises in store, ones that will fuel the rest of the series in some ways.
I had a blast here, and in some ways, it’s not a bad thing that I’m coming to this series a bit last – at least now I can binge-read my way through since so many titles are out already. If you love an intense romance with danger, snark, and sizzling chemistry then this story and series would be a perfect fit.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
I generally don’t think of a shifter romantic suspense as being funny, but how else do I take a female who decides to hunt down her man with hot twin sidekicks helping her out? Forcing her mate to face his fears, annoying her brother substitutes and beating up crows – a girl has got to do what a girl has got to do and this kitty has no problem with doing whatever she has to, no matter how unladylike she gets.
Brandon has no choice when it comes to being an Alpha
What I did like
I liked the characters, the story and the loyalty between the characters. There were also some funny moments, despite the troubled characters and the dire situation they’re in.
What I didn’t like
I think the writing can be done better. I found certain parts and phrases repetitive and spotted a few cliches.

I’m not related nor friends with this author and I do not have a personal interest in this book.
I love this new series! It’s great seeing these kids all grown up! They have a bit of the bad blood in them but also have a bit of newness about them. This is a great story of trying to get this crew together. The twins are fun and funnier. They really livened up Brandon’s more morose attitude. i can’t wait for their stories. Chaos will happen I’m sure since they are full of surprises. I about cried when Flynn ejected Brandon. That is so sad. But it’s a nice redemption that later happens and it helps bring this crew together.
I really enjoyed all the shenanigans of the new Wild Blood crew!

OMG now I I have to tell you this was a phenomenal book absolutely fantastic there was so much Drama and Action there was no way I was putting it down.
Do you believe in GHOSTS?
Brandon Fierro, he is the Alpha Panther Shifter who is slowly going crazy. But before he does he needs a take his revenge out of the person who murdered of his friend Nick.
Kitty is a Wolf Shifter who senses her mate, he’s in trouble he needs her. Even if she hadn’t seen him in six years she knows she must find him.
This review is my own opinion, this author is one that I love to read her books.
Boy!!! Brandon is not afraid of anything is he? Tip toe through the mind field on a tight rope. Nuts isn’t it? All kinds of things going nuts. Excitement, danger, why can’t Brandon just call the Counsel for a team to help? “Because he is a crazy Alpha.” Very good story. I like it a lot. Makes me smile “The Wild Blood”. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
Oh yes I loved reading this.
It had its what if bits and maybe we should of bits but in the end it all came to together nicely just as it should of, as a family.
This book had me wondering in places and guessing in others but held my attention from start to finish and when the wild you know what came out it I was like woah yes!
Make some time to read this if you love reading shifter books and I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.
I was given a copy of this to read and am leaving my honest opinion in response, it was so worth my time, thank you to the author.
Great first book in next generation series.
I have read all the previous books related to these characters parents, so I had no problems jumping into this next generation story about the children of the Bad Blood Crew.
If you haven’t read that series, do yourself a favour and do so, I loved them.
Overall I found this entertaining with some ancient history thrown in.
A very well done, slightly twisted tale of stubborn and wrongful pride.
Went a bit slow at one point for me but apart from that I read this in one sitting.
Wanted to slap Brandon upside the head a few times for being so self absorbed for the last six years but to put it in context, he is still only 27 years old, so is just starting to mature.
Can’t say I felt the romance between Kitty and Brandon. Yes they have been friends since childhood but I just didn’t get that loving/romantic vibe.
Kitty was a great mix of both her parents and I loved how she kicked butt.
Very interesting about the twins abilities and I loved Squatch.
Having Jacob and Callie join the crew will be entertaining.
This is my honest review of this book which I read through Kindle Unlimited.
I loved the bad blood series so when I saw this was basically the next generation I jumped at it and I wasn’t disappointed a few people have said they had issues following it I didn’t but this may have been because I read all the wild blood so new the history
Brandon and Kitty grew up as part of the bad blood family he was always her protector then he just up and left He intended to return as alpha of his own crew and present that accomplishment to her but it just never happened. Now six years later her abilities as a white wolf have kicked in and she is seeing visions of Brendon in danger Can she save him will he turn her away again Have they got a future together You will have to read to see
Anastasia Wilde has done another fantastic job, with this first book in a new series about the children from The Bad Blood series — Brandon’s Mate: The Wild Blood. This installment is well written with never a boring moment, interesting characters, twists and turns, romance, even a little steam.
Brandon and Kitty were childhood friends and grew up with a strong connection to each other. Brandon was showing signs of being a strong alpha at an early age. Eventually he left and created his own pack. Now Brandon is haunted by the ghosts of the pack he failed to protect. Kitty is having dreams of Brandon dying in a fire and she is determined to find and save him.
This is another five star story and I expect future installments will be just as great and a must read for anyone who loves paranormal romance. I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is the way to start a new series. Being a fan of this author, I have read all her books. To know be reading about the ‘kids’ of some of my favorite characters, kinda makes me feel old. It’s also proof of Ms. Wilde’s talent. Even though this is a spin-off, reading the others is not necessary. (but you should, you’ll love them) Enough history is provided through the characters’ memories. And what an amazing Crew they are. Brandon and Kitty had so much history. Both good and bad. This is the beginning of their future. This book has it all. Action, humor, suspense and love. Old friends and new come together to make a difference when it looks impossible. There was even room for a bit of romance. So I don’t spoil it for the rest of you, I’m gonna stop here. Those twins though…….. Anyway, a must read. You will not be disappointed. This is my honest opinion of an advanced copy I received.
This is the first book in a new series about the children from another series. I haven’t read the series about the parents, but I didn’t feel lost when the past was mentioned. The author does a great job of giving you the history you need without overwhelming you with details and bogging down the story. There is humor, action, suspense, mystery, shifters of various kinds, surprises, twists, and romance. Now having read this one, I plan to read all the stories in the Bad Blood series because I want to know more about how the Wild Blood Shifters’ parents got together. I look forward to more stories in this new series, now that I have met the new crew. I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review. I enjoyed the book so much that I plan to buy a copy anyway!
