Jessica’s had the nightmares for as long as she can remember. Nightmares of being judged for people who have died, of being branded by the angels. Her friends and family think she’s crazy because of it all. Yet she carries the mark of the condemned, seared into the back of her neck, and hides it and herself away from the world.
But when two men she can’t ignore enter her life, everything … everything changes, including the nightmares. The two of them couldn’t be more different. She will do anything to be with one of them. Even tell him the truth about angels, why she never sleeps, and the scar on the back of her neck. But one of the two has set events into motion what will pull her toward her own judgment and turn her into the object of her greatest fear.

While this is a stand alone book, I can*t imagine anyone would not want to read this series. It is a compelling story.
It was just weird. It didn’t make sense why someone that had near death experience would have to get judged for other people. Why didn’t they get to do it themselves -Did they do the penance after the judgement???? I started it & writing was well done but storyline was just too screwed up.
Original and unexpected!

I didn’t really enjoy this story. The premise is good but the storyline moved so very slow. The development of the characters was extremely slow. I also hated the ending. I won’t be reading the other books.
Good idea, but too predictable. I also thought the characters needed to be developed better. I seriously didn’t care what happened to them
For much of this novel, you spend quite a bit of time in the mind of the the female lead and due to her experiences, it can be quite dark—but what kept me reading was the hope that a ray of light would shine somewhere in her life and I was not disappointed. Great Read!
Wonderful twists and original writing.
Slow in parts but it improved as I read on.
Modern day easy read. I enjoyed it.
Enjoyable
Interesting premise, but unfolds painfully. Less time needs to be spent on the protagonist’s every thought and more on her experiences in her alternate world, I couldn’t wait for it to be over but finished it to see if my theory on the identity of Cole formed about halfway through was right and it was.
Brought me in and left me wanting to read the next one.
This book was very disappointing. The main character is really tortured for a reason that has nothing to do with her decisions.
Definitely enjoyed reading this book.
More of a teen book.
Romance novels are romance novels are romance novels-that said, they are one of my fav genres. Because they are pretty much the same, the ones that stand out to me all have something different or unusual about them. Here, well, I can’t tell you because the book description is as much of a spoiler as you need. This is not a steamy sex book, but …
Origanal and interesting.
What a fascinating, creative read on the life of angels in our world. At first, I was unsettled by the main characters mind, then I got further along and had a hard time putting it down. Very different, very psychological. Warning to dreamers, this book’s major focus is nightmares.
The book was long winded and part of a set, not a stand alone.
