Selma Lehmann sees demons. But what’s worse is—they see her, too. No one believes that there are monsters walking among us. No one wants to believe. But they’re real, and when Selma falls into their hands, the truth about her curse proves far worse than she could have ever known.Trapped by a demon whose singular desire is to possess her, body and soul, Selma’s only hope for freedom is to submit … for freedom is to submit to his grueling pleasures.
Branded is a prequel novella to the series Demon’s Mark. Selma’s story concludes in the next book.
Please note: this book has previously been released as a 6-part serial under the same name.

Nora Ash did an amazing job of blending reality and the paranormal. I always enjoy her world building, and I’ve often wondered about being able to “see” more than what the rest of the world does. Ash explores in Branded, her prequel to Demon’s Mark.
Selma has been institutionalized most of her life for seeing “monsters”. No one has ever considered the possibility that she’s seeing actual reality. Instead, she’s been “tortured” by modern medicine to cure her illness. So she’s learned to fake it really well.
So what happens when she finds out the monsters are real? She begins to find out when she lands in yet another institution after attempting to save someone else from a brutal attack. But the cure Dr. Hershey offers her isn’t all it’s cracked up to to be.
Ash turns the HEAT level to nuclear, as Selma is introduced to the world of demons, Lords, Breeders and more. I can’t wait to find out what happens next!
This is an ARC for the book Branded by Nora Ash. Ive been a fan of the author ever since I read her In the Darkness series. IMHO, I would love to read the sequel to this book as Branded sets an interesting and intriguing storyline. There wasnt any romantic scenes in this book, as those would most likely be in the sequel, Demon’s Mark. The setting that the author sets foreshadows the life that the heroine, Selma had to live in. Its scary to think that another species that could so easily harm others such as the demons exists and that humans are so helpless to fight against. I emphatise with Selma, I felt her desperation and helplessness in trying to make sense with the situation. Overall, this book is definitely in my list of fav books. The cons however, would be the sex scenes as I think they are bordering on brutal and submissive sex, which has never been my cup of tea.

This is a revised version of a story also titled Branded, which I have read several times.
Selma is a young woman who has endured her whole life visions of monsters that only she could see and therefore she’s been believed to be insane and institutionalized. She’ll then discover that those monsters are demons and that she’s a very special kind of woman for those beings.
It was the first book I read written by Nora Ash and the theme was what hooked me, demons are rarely chosen as main characters in books and I find them fascinating since they represent the embodiment of darkness and magic. The original version of the book was more hardcore, this one is not so much but still steamy enough, even with some non-con/dub-con elements. The two versions are similar with just some modifications that make it a very enthralling read.
Nora Ash is a superb story-teller, I know her books are going to be always entertaining and original. Her sex scenes are always incredibly erotic, imaginative, never dull.
Another positive thing about Nora’s books, IMO, are the main characters; the story is never spoiled by bratty or insufferable behaviors and the protagonists are usually strong and interesting people.
So, if you enjoy paranormal stuff, sexy demons and a good plot, then read Branded (you will want to read the complete series, believe me). Be warned, this is not a sweet romance and the book ends in a cliff-hanger.

It started off great drawing you in. After reading about 20 pages I started scratching my head trying to figure out what I was reading. Of course I’m a glutton for punishment so I had to finish.

I like the book. I read the first version a while ago, and I feel like this one is better written. There was some things I did not like about this book, but I am not going to give any spoilers. I would recommend this book to people.
