A cowboy romance with some intrigue.
Let me start out by saying that this is the second book in the Seven Brides for Seven Brothers series and it really needs to be read in the order it is written as each “brother” will have a major role in each book. Having said that, this one is about Bradley and Amanda, who are in love with each other but neither one really thinks they are good enough for the other one. Add into the story a few huge twists and turns and you’ve got an amazing story!

Hawkes is still running things in Bullet, especially now that he’s legally not guilty of murdering his wife and assaulting Laura. He manages to interrupt Laura and Brody’s wedding celebration. Laura’s best friend Amanda has a secret envelope from her deceased mother, a map to some sort of treasure left by the father she never knew. Bradley is Brody’s “brother”. They’re working hard on the ranch, and also trying to keep Hawkes from getting his hooks into their property. He’s not sure he’s interested in pursuing a relationship of any sort with Amanda, until her reputation (but not her virtue) is compromised. I enjoyed this book as much as the first on in the series. I love the characters that the author has developed, and the story has it all – action, suspense, friendship, romance. Looking forward to the next book.

The second book in the Seven Brides for Seven Brothers series a well written story that held my interest throughout. This is an intense, gripping and suspenseful. Amanda is a strong, independent woman and has been half in love with Bradley for a while, but after a couple of dances one night, he completely shut her out. Bradley is a stubborn, insecure and impulsive man who wants to be loved, but thinks that nobody ever would. When Amanda’s house gets broken into, the guys and Laura ganged up on her and convinced her to move to their ranch. Bradley’s and Amanda’s attraction heats up with them being close in proximity, to the point that they get caught kissing in a lake. Bradley had to be convinced to do the right thing, but he did propose. Amanda doesn’t want to marry Bradley, because he’d never return her feelings. Hawkes comes to cause trouble again, which has Amanda blaming herself for the trouble, and determined to break from Bradley. Bradley’s story, not knowing who his parents were, and what happened later as a child is tragic and surprising.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
I enjoyed this story! It’s well written and nicely developed. This is an intriguing story with some action, suspense and interesting twists. This is the second story in the “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” series. Although the story has the same bad guy and connected characters you can read it as a stand alone story. I enjoyed Amanda and Bradley’s story! It’s really good and a fairly quick romantic read. I look forward to reading the rest of the stories.
I really like Kathleen Lawless’s SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS series. Bradley’s Bride is Book 2 in the series, but it’s easily a stand alone also. I love the fact that there are no cliffhangers at the end that cheat you of a happily ever after. Well done, Ms. Lawless.
This was an intriguing story. It had action, suspense, danger and wonderful complicated characters.I am looking forward to reading the next book.

Very intense story with twists and turns and surprises. Neither one wants a committed relationship. He was an orphan taken in by this family. She had a father who was part of an outlaw gang and left something with her mother. Other gang members want it. She ends up engaged to him so that his family and he can protect her. Exciting, emotional, surprising, intense and much more. I review this copy I voluntarily received from booksprout.
A wonderful labyrinth.
I enjoy this story this is going to be a great series. Amanda is a bit sassy and will do what she needs to do. Bradley was the strong silent type and Hawkes was a brilliant villain. The author has written such impressive characters. The journey of this piece has such wonderful curves you will love it. This is a great book to have in anyone collection. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
This was a marvelous story of love, romance and intrigue. I loved every word of this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
Bradley never knew his parents but was taken in as part of the Mason family. Amanda’s father was part of a outlaw gang and he left a treasure map with her mother when he left them. Years later Amanda and Bradley are drawn to each other but another outlaw is after the map and Bradley and his family tries to protect her. This story is filled with suspense, drama and romance which can be read in a short time.

Just like the first book of the series, this one is full of action and intrigue. In fact, at the couple from the first book’s wedding, which opens this book, there is quite the gun-fight kerfuffle. While there definitely was a lot going on in the book, I didn’t like the way that the romantic aspect was played out. Often in romances, the hero and heroine go back and forth about their feelings for each other and what to do about them (that’s the basis for romance books), it seemed extreme in this novel. For instance, at one point when it looks like the couple have to marry, the heroine decides that she can seduce him into loving her, and not long after, she’s thinking of how to get out of the marriage so she can run her own business in a different town (though she claims to have had feelings for him from afar for a long time). There is just too much of that kind of wild back and forth for both of the characters. I also thought that the blurb didn’t accurately portray the book. The blurb makes it seem as if the book is all about a forced betrothal or wedding. It isn’t really about that, and that issue is even germaine until after the 40% mark of the book. The book continues the issues with the villain of the previous book, and my gut feeling tells me that this will be the case for the rest of the books in this series about the seven “brothers.” This book didn’t gel for me quite like the first one did, and I quite enjoyed that one. It was nice to see a little bit more of Laura and Brody, the heroine and the hero from the previous book, and their new life together as a married couple. While this book could be read as a stand-alone, you would miss much of the context about the brothers and the villain.
