Top 5 reasons I should stay away from Crispin Dalton:1. He’s been bullying me since the day I started at Wildwood Academy, the prestigious high school for young elites2. He’s the kind of jerk who thinks liking a girl means tugging on her hair (seriously, is this first grade?)3. There’s a scandal tying our families together in the most awful way, and his whole family hates me because of it4. He’s … hates me because of it
4. He’s so far out of my league, he might as well be wearing a sign that says ‘Don’t look, touch or fantasize about me… or else’
5. He’s kind of, sort of, dating my best friend…
We’ve come a long way since being co-stars on my TV show. The boy I used to crush on obsessively isn’t the nice guy anymore.
No, he’s the mean, cruel, evil bully who’s dead set on ruining my life. And to top it all off, he’s more off-limits than he ever has been.
So, obviously, I shouldn’t be crushing on Crispin, because he isn’t the boy he used to be.
No, no, no… he’s even hotter now.
And as it turns out, little old me can’t resist a bully with a heart of gold.
This is a full-length novel, part of the Lords of Wildwood series. Can be read as a standalone.

my review: https://nanasbookreviews.blogspot.com/2019/06/review-boys-that-tease-lords-of.html
This book was so good! I loved everything about it. The characters were perfect. They had so much chemistry. And the storyline sucked me in and I felt like I was in the middle of their world. The tension and suspense of wondering what would happen next killed me. Crispin turned out to be an amazing book boyfriend. And I loved how Tinsley finally found her strength after everything she went through. There were times I wanted to throw my phone. I got so mad at certain characters and what they did. And then I would get all gooey and dreamy eyed at the actions of others. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone!
She fell from a great height and landed in his lap. The golden boys playground.
Their past ensured she became a target before she even stepped on the premises of Wildwood High.
He watches her, from both across the room, and behind her. Never far away.
Shes his plaything whether she likes it or not.
He torments her, day in day out.
This is going to end in tears…..
Oooooohhhhh what an exciting read! I’m left feeling all hyper and giddy it was THAT good!!
Forbidden fruit is always the juiciest and oh my this was one delicious read!
Romeo and Juliet have got nothing on Tinsley and Crispin!
The angst, and drama, so many lingering looks, followed by bouts of guilt and betrayal.
Tinsley just wants to be accepted, and survive each day intact.
Crispin wants her but knows he cant have her. He is completely and utterly torn. His heart divided, his loyalty wavering.
A fantastic start to this series. I cant wait for more!!!!
I do believe I’ve just acquired myself a new book boyfriend and a new one click author! Love it love it looove it!!
Wow loved the book it was great the story was well written and the characters were interesting. Crispin a rich, gorgeous young man at only eighteen years old. Tinsley is a broken star after some bad rumour. Does Crispin break Tinsley or has he got a crush on her.
Thank you for allowing me to review this book it was great.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I got this as and ARC and it is a first read for me by this author.
I will admit that I was a little torn about starting this book. The blurb confused me a little and I was like is this gonna be boarder line dark bully romance. But after the prologue I was set straight and was hooked! I needed to know more about Crispin and Tinsley!
Tinsley was the all American girl next door tv starlet. Having been doing a teen tv show for 9 years. She even had the typical crush on her male co-star. But what she didn’t see happening was when it all changed and came crashing down.
Crispin was a God among gods at his school. Everyone wanted to be him or with him, did everything he said. And when his good girl crush started at his school senior year, he knew he had to turn up his bad boy ways….but would that help him get his dream girl?!
I loved this whole book. Read it in a day haha. I am looking forward to all the other Lords Of Wildwood boys!!
3.5/5 star read
This read had me torn! I absolutely loved parts of it and other parts fell completely flat for me. Enemies to lovers is my jam so I had really high hopes for this book based on the blurb and teasers. It was a good read overall, filled with betrayal, jealousy, drama (so much drama!) and a smattering of hot, sexy love.
For some reason I just couldn’t get behind the ‘ship between Crispin and Tinsley. They were all over the place! One minute he hates her, next he’s befriending her and then back again. And she just lays down and takes it! Total whiplash from these two. Their connection was undeniable though, from the very beginning.
Let’s talk about the “friend” you love to hate! Wow! Estella’s character was everything you want in a villain! She was self centered, manipulative, shallow and vile. I couldn’t stand her the entire read but couldn’t wait to see what a mess she’d inflict from one chapter to the next!
In the end, this book left me with more questions than answers. I understand it’s part of a 4 book series but I felt like too many carrots were dangled in book 1 with little to no explanation or reasoning as to why. Like what really happened to Pandora? Who the heck is Baby and why is she called that? Who was Guest? What happened between Crispin and his family? Will all of these things be addressed in future books? I sure hope so!
*I received an ARC of this read in exchange for an honest review*
As much I wanted to love this book it just didn’t work for me. I felt that the reasoning behind Crispin being mad at Tinsley wasn’t very believable. I know they’re young but they have to have some reasoning skills.
Tinsely was way too naive about her “friendship” with Estella and it was very aggravating
Crispin was always going on about moving with his mom and sister but then he decides to stay and we get no information on how the Mom reacted to him staying….that really confused me.
There’s some inconsistencies and that is a pet peeves of mine.
Estella was a cartoon like villianous very typical nothing really special about her.
I will continue with the series to see where the author takes future characters
We all remember high school, you have a popular girl that always find one girl to be-friend and has the knife in her back from the beginning, then you a guy who is too shy to admit that he likes you so he makes your life hell and then there’s the new girl to the school. Well, those are the main characters in this story. High School Flashbacks!!
The blurb and all the teasers that I saw on IG are what caught my eye and wanting to read this book, it had a great slow burn and the angst was there too but there was something missing that I can’t put my finger on about this book. But the mystery of missing students and not really getting many answers has me wanting the next book just to get hopefully the answers.
Boys that Tease was a good debut novel by Bettie Rosewood and something a little out of my normal genre.
Boys that Tease Book 1 Lords of Wildwood
This story is everything! Amazing! Loved the cover to the very end! There are so many emotions, its crazy! Love the characters and their chemistry!
“My scars are one story; my butterflies are another.”
Fully enjoyed! Absolutely can not wait for Book 2!!
I am speechless. This story is amazing.
Boys That Tease is the debut book from Betti Rosewood and the first book in the Lords Of Wildwoods series which is made up of four standalone books.
The story follows Tinsley And Crispin and the emotional journey they take to love. The attraction between these two is evident from start to finish.
Boys that tease is an all-consuming, angsts and emotion story. Betti hits a subject that is very close to my heart and the way she mentioned it in the book had me in tears, the way she approached it is very thought out. The book was beautifully written.
This book is the type of story that grabs you from page one and refuses to let go until you have completed the whole book. Even once finished, you’re sitting wishing there was more. Most certainly a book that keeps you wanting.
I loved everything about this book, from the chemistry between Tinsley and Crispin, to all the secrets and real-life issues they had, to the very unique names of the characters.
I can’t wait for Boys That Read.
5 Butterflies flying high stars.
When boys are told that good girls like bad boys, you get Crispin Dalton. Deliciously alpha, dirty, and mean in a way that you can’t help but want to be his. Even still, there is a good boy deep inside that is trying to navigate his extravagant world, and when Tinsley Sullivan walks into his life again, he will do anything to get her… even become bully extraordinaire.
Tinsley Sullivan is learning who she is again, demure while uniquely herself, and a strength beyond compare. She shows you that no matter your walk of life, it’s what is inside that counts and is that friend who is always willing to be there for you, even if she gets hurt in the end. Learning what it to truly be in high school, with a generous helping of bullying.
As the rollercoaster ride of emotions between these two sends you to passionate high and heartbreaking lows, you will want the bully to get his, and not in the way you think you would.
Betti’s debut novel is everything I hoped it would be.
This book and characters will have you hooked from page 1. Crispin and Tinsley, I absolutely loved together, even when they were apart. Really great story that will have your emotions all over the place. Can’t wait too read more of this series.
I really wanted to love this book but sadly, I didn’t connect with any of the characters. I put this into my It’s me not you category, because it is written well but didn’t resonate with me. It might be great for someone else!
I’m really on the fence with this book. The premise has potential. This story has many really good subplots that if fleshed out could have made it a great read. I wasn’t able to connect with the main characters it was bumpy in the beginning because the H is a super good guy so it made it difficult to see him in the bully role. He didn’t give me that alpha vibe either. The h is super sweet and just kept getting stepped on and never became the strong character I was hoping for. The reasons for things in the story didn’t work for me. The secondary characters were much more likable for me – Andromeda, Inca, and Finn. Even Estella played her role well. I’m a greedy reader so I would have liked more of the scandal, more of Tinsley and Finn conspiring, more LOW and the plotline around Andie’s sister and Baby. I understand book one in a series has to do a lot of set up so I will be following this series because I’m excited about the other characters and storylines. There is a ton going on in the background that makes it an enjoyable read it just didn’t quite come together for me. Hopefully, book 2 will fill in the gaps.
Boys That Tease was a read I was looking forward to. Bully Romance is all the rage right now and I was so excited to finally have it land on my kindle. It was a good book but fell kinda short for me.
Crispin wasn’t as big of an a-hole as a bully should be. I guess that’s a good thing. He was kinda hot and cold and I couldn’t really get a good read on him. Tinsley’s character is typical with most high school heroines alive read. Although, she was naive and annoyed me a little more than usual.
This may not have been my cup of tea but it may be yours. It is a good book and I wish I was able to connect more with the characters.
Give me a bully romance with high school drama and I’ll be happy. And that’s what Betti Rosewood brought in Boys That Tease. But aside of that this book shows us how difficult life can be when you’re living in the spotlight. It explains also what impact on our daily life can have the behaviour of our relatives. This book has a very important message- if you want to be happy, just follow your heart. Forget about public opinion and expectations of others- they won’t live your life. If you won’t listen to your heart, you’ll be the one standing in the way to your own happiness.
I really liked general message this book carried. I also like the storyline. But I think that the author didn’t exploit the whole potential of this story. I expected a little bit more. Boys That Tease was very mild in bully category and I couldn’t connect with the characters. Crispin was supposed to be this mean bad boy, but for me he was a pushover. Same goes to Tinsley. I couldn’t understand how this girl could be so naive and silly when it came to her ‘friendship’ with Estella. I liked the connection between Crispin and Tins, but how they were acting on it was getting on my nerves. I expected dirty ploys and intense bantering. What I got was immature bunch of kids who don’t know yet how to adult.
Don’t get me wrong- this book wasn’t bad. It just could be better.
There’s a lot of drama,angst, and secrets
between these misguided naive over-privileged
teens. There were many misunderstandings
between the two main characters Crispin and Tinsley.
Mainly due to the Tinsley’s (third wheel aka) bff Estella.
There’s a domino effect that changes everything,
including how some parts of their lives were
supposed to play out.
I enjoyed it,and I’m looking forward to the next book
in the LoW series.
At first glance this looks like a bully romance. They are popular these days. But after reading it, I realized it’s really not your typical bully romance. Crispin was likable from the first few pages. He’s dealing with his family in crisis, with his parents very close to divorce. Tinsley is likable as well. Both teens work on a tv show that Crispin’s father directs. An incident occurs, pitting both teens against each other and destroying careers.
They both end up at Wildwood, a private high school, and Crispin is angry from day one. But things change. He starts to recognize that his behavior was blaming the wrong person. Now you might think his reactions to Tinsley are unrealistic once you find out what the incident was, but this story is about teenagers. Teenagers in upheaval and highly emotional states. Rosewood just GETS this teens. If you think about teens you will realize that their actions are immature and honest. Crispin even takes terrible advice from another girl. Why? Because that’s what teens do!
““Why are you so mean to me?” He looked down at my face, gently stroking his fingers over my skin. “Because I can’t fucking help it.”“Why not?”“Because you… you wouldn’t have liked me if I was a nice guy.”“What?” I furrowed my brows. “Who said that?” He hesitated, so I nudged him with my hand. “Tell me who told you that.”“Estella,” he finally admitted. “She… she said good girls only like bad boys.”“That’s… just dumb,” I managed, a giggle escaping me when he stared at me so intently. “So all of this is because of something stupid Estella came up with?”“I… I guess,” he muttered. “I was dumb for trusting her.”
As Tinsley and Crispin work through their differences, it gets sweet and sexy. I wish we got more about Pandora and Baby, but I’m assuming more will be revealed in the next book. The writing is sharp and the pain these characters go through leaps from the page.
“My mouth stayed shut, and my thoughts remained unspoken. I was addicted to our secrets, obsessed with every minute I got to spend in her company. The fear of losing her was intense. It was also a constant reminder of how miserable I’d been without her and how deliriously happy I was when she was around.”
There are no cliches here. Crispin may be popular, but he’s not a ladies man and quickly stands up for what’s right. Tinsley is a former child star who is down to earth and friendly. It’s a great story because you don’t expect it to go where it goes. I will follow it anywhere.
“Careful, Crispin. Boys that tease always pay for it.”
I would recommend this book to a reader who loves lost heroines, sweet heroes and bully friends.
When I come to think about it, the writing is amazing, but it’s characters. I didn’t like any of them.
My first read by Betti Rosewood and it did not disappoint. Boys That Tease is the first book in the Lords of Wildwood series. This is Tinsley and Crispin’s story.
If you love a good bully romance this one’s for you. The amount of bullying in this is insane and at times had me cringing. It definitely took me back to high school remembering the times it happened to others as well as me.
At first, I was a little confused what Crispin’s intentions we’re when he repeatedly went from hot to cold. As the story progresses, you get a better understanding. Crispin is definitely one you’ll despise at first then grow to love.
I’m looking forward to reading Boys That Read. The next book in the series.
