Top 5 reasons I should stay away from Crispin Dalton:1. He’s been bullying me since the day I started at Wildwood Academy, the prestigious high school for young elites2. He’s the kind of jerk who thinks liking a girl means tugging on her hair (seriously, is this first grade?)3. There’s a scandal tying our families together in the most awful way, and his whole family hates me because of it4. He’s … hates me because of it
4. He’s so far out of my league, he might as well be wearing a sign that says ‘Don’t look, touch or fantasize about me… or else’
5. He’s kind of, sort of, dating my best friend…
We’ve come a long way since being co-stars on my TV show. The boy I used to crush on obsessively isn’t the nice guy anymore.
No, he’s the mean, cruel, evil bully who’s dead set on ruining my life. And to top it all off, he’s more off-limits than he ever has been.
So, obviously, I shouldn’t be crushing on Crispin, because he isn’t the boy he used to be.
No, no, no… he’s even hotter now.
And as it turns out, little old me can’t resist a bully with a heart of gold.
This is a full-length novel, part of the Lords of Wildwood series. Can be read as a standalone.

Mind. Fucking. Blown.
That’s what I am right now.
When I come across authors such as Betti, it blows my mind just how they can write such complex and compelling characters,
This book was unique in so many ways. as were the characters. The two main characters Crispin Dalton and Tinsley Sullivan bounced off each other perfectly. These two had chemistry and a bond developed between the two throughout the book that you could not help but invest in. It wasn’t your typical YA high school reads, Betti added in more, more than just your typical bad boy high school bully. So many more elements to this story that just kept me turning page after page, fascinated on where the plot was taking me. It was a slow burn. A delicious slow burn, with a bit of angst, a lot of drama, romance, sweetness topped off with a push and pull relationship that had my heart and emotions out of whack. It was perfect. In every sense of the word. I think we are in for one hell of a ride with this author and this series and I can not wait to see what else she has up her sleeve.
5 Stars!!
Overall this story was great! Thanfully the bullying died down after awhile I am not huge bully romance fan. I have to know what the “Lord’s” of Wildwood are hiding. Betti teases us but gives us nothing!!!! As much as I really hate Estella I am going to have to keep reading to hopefully get more tiny pieces of this bugger mystery. Tinsley gets her HEA in the end which was perfect
I loved this high school bully romance novel! It had a little bit of everything the angst and the secrets omg! This was a page turner for me I literally could not put down till the end ! Loved Tinsley ! She was so sweet and innocent and Crispin I think was secretly just as sweet and innocent but got pulled into acting the way he did because he wanted to get the girl and was misguided on how to go about doing just that. Can’t wait to see what happens with the Lords of Wildwood in the next book. This story has all the feels with angst and drama and secrets to keep you intrigued! Definitely a 1 click book for me ! I received this arc for my honest review
Oh my did this book bring back memories of High School wow. This is the 1st book in The Lord’s of Wildwood series from Betti and she absolutely nailed it even down to the bullying that I’m sad to say still goes on in today’s high school’s.
This story is about Crispin and Tinsley who were young TV stars they developed a crush for each other and cue mean girl who’s jealous and then something happens between their families and now one can’t forgive the other or can they?
This book was so freaking good it had me flipping pages I couldn’t wait to read what happened next. It’s most definitely a must read.
Boys That Tease is a high school angst mixed with Hollywood drama. Former child star Tinsley is attempting the traditional high school experience after a scandal forced her out of the spotlight. Unfortunately, it’s the school where Crispin attends. He’s her former crush and he’s determined to make her life as difficult as possible at Wildwood.
Bullied, but not quite broken, Tinsley surrounds herself with an eclectic mix of friends…except, they might not be as loyal as they seem. Whoa, one these so called friends has mastered the fine art of Mean Girl!
I like Betti Rosewood’s voice so I’m along for whatever ride she takes me on… I’m a bit removed from high school, but I’m more than ready for the rest of this series.
OMG! I FLOVED this book!! I already knew I loved Betti’s writing from her other pen names, and this new direction was just as good!! I loved the angst, mystery, and heat. Ah, the drama of youth. Loved it!! Crispin and Tinsley are FIRE! I wasn’t sure about the idea of ‘bully’ romance, but it filled my love for the whole ‘frenemies to lovers’ trope. Tinsley starts the book as a broken teen star and ends the book built back up to someone confident in herself. Crispin is that hot, popular guy you both want to kiss and slap. They met on her show and then some drama went down and Tinsley became persona non grata. We meet a whole cast of characters at the private school they all attend. It reminds me of the feel you get from 80s teen movies. That rich kids run the school and do what they want. Parents aren’t all together there or are too there. Or maybe shows like Pretty Little Liars. Especially since there is an underlying mystery that will carry over into the other books I assume. I can’t wait to read more about these Lords of Wildwood! I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Mind blown
This book is a unique, angsty, young adult story filled with high school drama. Crispin Dalton and Trinsley Sullivan have known each other for a few years. And when she starts at the high end high school things don’t go so well for them. Trinsley is dealing with the backlash of something her mother did and Crispin is the guy making her life a living nightmare. They definitely have chemistry and a bond but can they get over the scandal that is following them around?
There’s so many elements to this story that kept me on the edge of my seat. A slow burn, angst, lots of drama, sweet romance what more can you ask for from a young adult book. Definitely can’t wait for more from Betti
This was so good! So much angst, steam, drama and secrets! Each character was different in their own way but they came together great. Tinsley was really sweet albeit a little naive and Crispen was a jerk but with a sweet side. I really felt for both of them regarding their home lives and it was sad to see how much strain it put on them. I loved their push and pull relationship and the sizzling chemistry! I’m still very curious about the other secrets that are at play throughout the book and can’t wait for book 2!
This was such an amazing read! A bully romance with a heart of solid gold, I was totally swept up in and swept away by Tinsley and Crispin’s story. These are complex characters that share a history that is as sweet as it is painful. The storyline is filled with deep emotions, angst, heartbreak, drama, heat, betrayals, emotional turmoil, lies, secrets and desire. The dual P.O.V. lets you really get into these characters heads and that helps you to connect with them. Future books in this series look to be very promising as there is a solid cast of secondary characters (whether you love them or hate them), the seeds are planted for one very intriguing mystery, the foundation of what I anticipate to be a juicy scandal is laid and I feel that there are plenty of more secrets to uncover. A terrific read that melted my heart, sent my emotions spinning and left me craving more from this series.
This was the first book I read by this author and I was not disappointed at all. in this book the two main characters Crispin and Tinsley where childhood TV stars who began to have a crush on one another. But with the help of another costar jealousy took over and he listens to the advice she gave him about being a bad boy towards Tinsley and it put a separation between them that caused fights. Also there was some family drama that caused the friendship between Crispin and Tinsley to fall apart not to mention crispin’s bullying continued. Tinsley then realizes who is and who isnt true to her friendship but after all of this in the end we’re left with a happily ever after which makes the story even better. we also find out about some secrets that hopefully will get answers in the next book.
After reading the blurb I was sure I was going to love this book, hands down. But unfortunately It wasn’t one of my favourites. I enjoyed it well enough and I loved the whole storyline but I felt most of the rest of it fell a little flat for me. It took me a little bit to get into the book after the prologue as I felt there were some things that didn’t make sense/add up. It made me stop to try and figure it out including the timeline of it. It wasn’t until a few chapters in that I really started loving it but even then things popped up that didn’t make much sense. I felt it was really jumpy in terms of timeline and information at times as well which made it a bit up and down for me.
I loved getting to know these characters though I would’ve loved to have known more about them. There were quite a few unanswered questions too by the end of the book which I’m hoping get answered in the following stories.
I loved getting that little glimpse of Crispin’s home life at the beginning and seeing the tenderness he had towards his sister before everything happened. I really enjoyed Crispin and Tinsley together, I thought they were great for each other and I loved their interactions paired with the angsty push and pull relationship they had for most of the book. I felt that Crispin didn’t quite live up to his bully status and I also felt that Tinsley needed to stick up for herself more and grow a backbone, which she kind of did towards the end. I loved the interactions between all the other characters too, I can’t wait to find out more about them and the surprises that I know are coming up in the rest of the series.
This was a fairly good book which I did enjoy, apart from those issues that stopped me from loving the book fully.
3.5 stars
I enjoyed this book. It was like re living your high school years. It had so much teenage drama. I liked that Crispin and Tinsley were not your ordinary teenagers but teenage actors. It was really a different story line. I can’t hardly wait for the next book in the series.
The lords of Wildwood will suck you in, grab you and not let you go. You will be hooked from the beginning until the end! Tinsley and Crispin will have you eating out of the palm of their hands not letting you put this book down. Their story is captivating, compelling, full of angst and emotionally raw. Such a great start to this series and I can’t wait to see what’s next to come. Loved it, highly recommend it.
OMFG!! This is Betti’s first book in her Lords of Wildwood series and she starts it off with a bang. Crispin and Tinsley were co-stars on the same show and they both have crushes on each other. Neither act on it, and after the wrong advice Crispin becomes a complete and total a-hole. They end up having a falling out that was not neither of their faults and when Tins starts going to Wildwood Academy, she becomes the girl everyone loves to hate. This is all due to Crispin, since he gets away with anything there and I mean anything. These two still have feelings for each other, but Crispin knows he needs to stay away from her, but he just can’t. This is a high school drama with bullying, drama, angst, some more drama, jealousy, backstabbing, romance, a little suspense and twists and turns.
Tinsley starts as a girl who doesn’t like conflict and just wants to be left alone, to a girl who is strong and fierce. She is also loyal to her mom and friends, even though some don’t deserve it. Crispin is the king of the school and a bully. He is loyal to his family and I think he is taken a little advantage of by his mom. There are people who deserved to be smacked in the face and possibly more. We are shown how high school is with the stereotypes, snide remarks and bullying. It is very relatable and Betti wrote it superbly. I stayed up very late to finish this and if I could I would say this deserves ten stars. This is a book that I will read again and again. I love Crispy and Tins and liked how they did grow up during the book. The connection they have never really diminished and actually became stronger and they helped each other heal.
“No matter how many scars, physical or metaphorical… you will come back on top.” (less)
Consuming, Enthralling, Sexy, and MIND-BLOWING!” From the very first line to the very last page, Boys That Tease sank into me and didn’t let me go for a instant.
Betti, writing game is on A whole different level, phenomenal!! “This book is hands-down in my top five reads of 2019!”
“A Raw, Emotionally- Charged, Steamy-passionate read!”
Betti, is a absolute genius. “This irresistibly ON FIRE romance stays with you long after you finish the book and more!
Sexy, Wicked addicting, and so very entertaining.. An all-consuming read that had my emotions spinning in a million different directions!
“Spellbinding and addictive. I devoured every word A riveting and heart-stopping story!”
Betti, ability to draw you into turning the next page to see what happens next while wanting to take your time and savor each word that is written!”
“10 Phenomenal stars!”
Tinsley and Crispin… theirs is a story you should really read. A good example of how things can change in a matter of minutes – how lives can change. I read other books already from Betti, I am a huge fan of the Dark Castle series and was not disappointed again.
Lords of Wildwood is a complex story with characters who have to grow up a little too soon and face the evils and consequences of their world and actions. Tinsley and Crispin are two different yet very similar characters. They grow from love to “hate” than to love again. Friends turn to enemies, new friends are gained and lost… All the drama of real-life and teenage dreams/world are mastered in one in this true masterpiece. Full of twists and turns that keep you on your toes although the drama does not overwhelm the story, everything is in perfect balance.
I can only recommend, and I cannot wait for Boys that read. Can a mean girl get her redemption? I bow before thee, Betti Rosewood. Keep on going girl, I need more of their stories!
I need more of this series! < FREAKING AMAZING!!! Totally in love with this new series! Betty Rosewood did not disappoint and I can’t wait for the next book in this incredible saga. We begin this series with the story of Crispin and Tinsley. They were made for each other, unfortunately there was somebody else who was not ready to let Crispin go. After some traumatic events they reunite, but for Tinsley was like finding a totally different Crispin. This story is full of betrayal, hate, disappointment, love and lust. This is definitely one of my favorite happily ever after and I can’t wait for the next book. I received this book as an arc in exchange for an honest review and that’s what I did!
Fantastic book! The characters are Crispin and Tinsley. Their story will capture your attention and heart. You will be on the edge of your seat as you are waiting to see what will. unfold next with them. A definite must read. Can not wait for more from this author.
Boys That Tease was the angsty, sexy yet sweet introduction to the Lords of Wildwood series. I enjoyed the delicious slowburn, the touch of drama and all the feels that wove together to create this entertaining read. From the start the spark between Crispin and Tinsley was obvious and the push and pull between them kept me hooked. I found myself identifying so much with Tinsley throughout this book and my heart ached for her. The secondary characters introduced have me intrigued and left me craving more. After this sweet, angsty, and entertaining slowburn I can’t wait to delve into the rest of the Lords of Wildwood’s stories next.
OMG! I was mindblown! Let me tell you, through this whole book it brought back memories from high school! Everything that was going on then is still going on now.. You had secrets that were hidden, some came out in the light.
We see why Tinsley and Cripsin were always pushing at one another but we see the chemistry they both have and its hot.
I can’t wait for Book 2 to find out more of the secrets that are kept hidden
