He’s wicked smart. Filthy rich. Plus drop dead gorgeous. And he’s never been more off-limits.Estella Hawthorne might have been the homecoming queen last year, but everything changed this year at Wildwood Academy. I watched her fall from the glamorous mean girl everyone loved to hate, to the broken little girl I used to know. Things have really gone wrong for my former best friend.I’m having my … friend.
I’m having my best year ever. Everybody at Wildwood knows my name, and I finally stepped out of my brother’s shadow. Milo Earnshaw. Chess master. Washboard abs. Picky, because I can be.
I’ve got students and teachers eating out of the palm of my hand. The school’s most popular girl wants to be with me. I got in to my dream college. I’ve got it made.
Except I’ve never felt more empty inside.
Estella is a part of my life I promised myself I’d never revisit. Too many dirty secrets.
Besides, I’m not crushing on her anymore. I got over my Estella-fueled-fantasy in grade school. Now, I just feel sorry for her.
But there’s more to Miss B*tch than meets the eye. I know the real story behind her pretty face. I know her deepest, darkest secrets. And I promised I’d carry them with me until the day I died.
Now, I know she needs me more than ever. Not just as her best friend, or the boy who kissed her tears away when we were younger.
She needs me to make things right, and I owe it to our friendship to give us one last shot before it’s too late.
There’s just one person standing in the way.
Her boyfriend…
My brother.
Second in a series of interconnected high school romances. This is a new adult romance with a boyfriend’s brother, mean girl/geek, forbidden relationship.

Milo is HOT! He’s a geek, sweetheart but dominant and possessive. Estella was a mean girl but all that is a mask. The chemistry between these two was explosive but Estella fought it for a long time and ended up with the wrong brother. Milo was her childhood friend that she couldn’t admit she had a crush on for a long time. A sweet, contemporary read that I enjoyed and recommend.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving a review.
The second brilliant read in this series and it’s only book two.
Milo Earnshaw and Estella Hawthorne have known each other from before college, but they went their separate ways once they started at Wildwood.
They couldn’t be more different but they do say opposites attract – Milo is the quiet, nerdy type and Estella is a mean girl. But is that just what they want everyone to see? Could they be drawn back to each other?
Drama and angst. Romance and heartache. Secrets and lies. And then there’s the mystery with Pandora. There’s enough going on to keep you hooked until the very last page – I could read fast enough.
Although this is a standalone, I would recommend reading Boys That Tease – that’s where we first meet Milo and Estella. I’m looking forward to the next in the series, Boys That Smirk with Andromeda and Natan’s story.
Story that kept my interest – full of drama and twists
The writing style of this author made the story flowed effortlessly. We are witnessing the huge change that takes place in Estella’s life. And it touches all aspects of her life from school through relationships and ends with the family. While all of these is happening she has a companion who is always there for her – Milo.
Those two have to go through a lot of trouble, funny and also very serious situations, discover their feelings and cope with them to realize and decide what is really important for them.
I loved the mystery and that author introduced some villain characters and this time not necessary bullies from their peers in high school environment.
While the whole story was very good and quite well integrated the ending took me completely by surprise. Feels a little bit forced and doesn’t fit.
Can’t wait to read next books in the series especially Finn’s story.
4,5 star
Boys That Read is a second book in the Lords of WildWood series. This book can be read as a standalone.
Betti totally surprised me and hell yes, I love Estella! Of course, I love these two too.
We can read this story from Milo & Estella’s POV. We had met some complications but I think it’s all settled too fast. I wanted to feel what they feel. I wanted to fell the pain, despair, not only happiness.

Received ARC from Author for Honest Review

Romance: 3/5
Drama: 5/5
Suspense: 5/5
Dark(?): No
I usually go by my rating list, to help me give a overall rating. But this book is one of the few that won’t meet that requirement.
I don’t want to be a grammar nazi, but this book had a lot of editing issues.
The feeling of the book overall, is vagueness. So that made me drop the rating from 4 to 3ish.
I say that because you really don’t get a feel of history between Milo and Estella, it’s implied but vague.
I won’t spoil but there are separate incidents with a teacher, and also a father, yet both when ‘solved’ were again vague.
No actual details of aftermaths, no depth. I shouldn’t keep asking what did ‘that’ character do? What was the actual charge?!
What about the abuse?!
Estella was a rather naive, yet had an entitled personality that didn’t mash well.
Milo was just a walk over, in retrospect.
I felt like other characters drown their moments, so when they had their moment, it just felt ill timed.
I am though looking forward to reading the next book(s), I love the mystery through it and that ending when some questions were answered was awesome!
Loved it!
Would I read more from this Author? Absolutely!
Boys That Read is book 2 in The Lord’s of Wildwood series but can be read as a standalone. It follows the relationship and struggles of Estella and Milo and you of course, get cameos of all your other fave characters, Crispin, Tinsley, Natan, Finn and the gang.
Estella is very much the queen bee that has fallen from Grace and is struggling to get her life together. You know her as the resident mean girl but see more of why she is the way she is. I love that Betti in no way tries to justify Estella’s behaviour as being okay but rather explains it. E has a rough time in her book and you see so much to her and her struggles and life. She needs saving from time to time but is still very much fierce and beautiful and strong.
Milo, my dirty talking geek. I love my hot nerd. Milo is made with a touch of realism making this book so much more realistic and I, personally, preferred it to Boys That Tease. We see Milo grow and make mistakes. We also see him grow from them and whilst he’s very much a geek at heart, he’s loyal, fiercely protective and very HOT.
With an underlying mystery that will leave you at the edge of your seat, Betti masters the boyfriends brother trope and will leave you needing as many answers as you’ve gained….
I can’t wait for the next book in this incredible series!
My first impression of Estella Hawthorne is that I had her all figured out, I was so wrong. And Milo Earnshaw is much more than the beautiful boy that reads. This friends/enemies to lovers stole all my attention from the first page. So many twists and turns and discoveries brought to light. I was desperate for all of it. And the steamy encounters had me transfixed and needy for more. I loved every last beautifully, broken piece of this story.
This book is about Milo and Estella, childhood friends who grew apart as they attended Wildwood Academy. Milo comes across as a quietly spoken nerd to begin with but about a third of way through, he turns into someone who is possessive and taking what he wants. Estella is a typical queen bee at the beginning but its soon revealed things at home are not what they seem.
I loved Milo and Estella together, they work really well and seem to really care for each other. I think Estella had a very believable character arc and you could feel her emotional states. A couple of times, the characters seemed to take on different personalities, not sure why.
My favourite bit was when Milo first pushes Estella to understand exactly how he feels about her.
This is an easy read, a bit up and down in the middle, but the basic story is very good. Extra explanation is needed for several areas.

This was my first read by this author. I didn’t read the first book so at times I was a little lost when they were talking about Pandora. I enjoyed this book and seeing Estella go from mean girl to a humble one. It was a good story and now I want to go back and read Tinsley and Crispin’s book. Looking forward to Pandora and Andromeda’s books.

Well, Estella and Milo’s story is something else! In Boys That Tease I really disliked Estella although knowing there was a story behind her behaviour. And what a story that is…
And don’t get me started with Milo… His character truly is swoon-worthy to say the least.
Throw in a twisted plot, mind-blowing emotions, some angst and lots of passion and – voilà – there you have the PERFECT read!
Wow, just W.O.W !!!
It’s Milo’s turn.
Milo has everything. Including my two dads. He’s been friends with Estella (who we met previously).
It was harder for me to get on board with Estella because of all the trouble she caused Tinsley.
I just had to focus on how much I liked Milo, who was patient with his princess.
Teen angst and plenty of drama, all in the hopes of getting into Eastvale. A gap year sounds good.

I loved the transformation of Estella in this book compared to the first one, I thought she couldn’t really be redeemed cause she was just so mean girl but I was pleasantly surprised that not only did she become likable but I started to feel bad for her and well I loved Milo from the very beginning!!
I voluntarily reviewed a advanced readers copy of this book
This was a good read. I had not read the first book in the series but it wasn’t hard to follow along. I didn’t much care for Estella. I can empathize that she had a bad home life and maybe as the story progressed I felt sorry for her but i just didn’t like her.
Book 2 of the Lords of Wildwood series is here. Boys That read follows Milo and Estella and their relationship. We first met both of them in book 1 and may have formed an opinion about each of them during that book. But let me tell you Boys That Read sheds a whole new light on each of these characters together and individually. There are some strong elements to this book that may be uncomfortable but make the story that much better. Betti Rosewood has delivered another wonderful teen angst read that just makes me happy that I am out of high school!
Wow.
Where to even start with a book like this.
So much happens in this book.
Car chases, fraud, redemption, resurrection.
You’ll be on a rollercoaster of emotions from cover to cover.
This is one book that shouldn’t be missed!
Would give more stars if I could.
Jesus. Fucking. Christ… Betti… I tried to prepare myself for this… But in no way was I prepared for what this amazing author delivered. My head is everywhere, my mind is blown… And this is after sleep on it before I reviewed the book. I am in complete awe of this author. To me, she cannot write a bad book. Betti is known for her dark side to romance, her uniqueness and her ability to write characters that you can’t help but invest every minute of every day to. Even when I wasn’t reading this, and had to actually do some adulting, I still found myself thinking about these books. I was consumed beyond belief. It literally took over my brain and when that happens for me? That means the book will be marked up as a forever favorite, and it is and will always be. I loved Boys That Tease. It was Betti’s debut into YA romances, but this? THIS??? I fucking devoured it. Love is too weak of a word to explain how I feel about this book, about the characters and about the plot and how she twisted it all together in a delicious way and knocked me right on my ass.
In Boys That Read, we get to see some familiar faces that were in Boys That Tease (Lord of Wildwood: Book 1) and we get to know them more. In this book, we have Milo and Estella, and if you can remember her in book one you will remember Estella as the Queen Bitch. In book one I could not stand her. She drove me bat-shit crazy. But in this book, things start to become a little more clearer.. and messed up all at the same time. Right off the bat, the author threw me into something that had my mind reeling… Trying to figure out where Ms. Rosewood was going to go with this story. There is a reason Estella is the way she is, but is she that person or is it just a front to hide some deep-seated issues that have happened and are happening in her life, her home life. He father is the man I wanted to stab in the neck with a knife and watch bleed out. It’s evil, he’s nasty and I am actually getting angry thinking about it all over again… Estella has not got an easy life, he rather makes sure of that and it was gut-wrenching to read. You know that feeling you get when something you did not see coming comes flying at you.. that deep ache in your gut of anxiety, and wonder, and fear and anticipation and everything in between… Well, I got that right at the beginning of the book and it didn’t let up until the last page of the book…
Milo was something different too. I adored him. He was the hot as hell dorky guy in school. .. He was everything. He was sweet, he was funny, he was hot, he was caring and kind. was once best friends with Estella but as Estella became this Queen Bitch and starts dating Milo’s brother… the more she changed, the more these two drifted apart… It’s when Estella latest drama makes her slip down that social ladder and as she does when shit hits the fan from her stunts, she calls Milo and Milo being the amazing, and sweet-hearted guy he is, drops everything for her… after all the crap that went down last year with Crispin and Tinsley, Estella isn’t at the top of that ladder anymore…
I could seriously sit here all day and write out this book as a book report. Nothing would give me more pleasure. It was that FUCKING GOOD, I know I need a re-read. I won’t go any deeper into this mind fuckingly beautiful story. It needs to be experienced. You need to go in expecting the unexpected and then don’t expect that either. This book completely fucked me… In all the best way. This consumed me beyond belief, it gut-punched me so damn hard. The chemistry between these two main characters was pulsating and insanely intense and it had me craving more. The push and pull, the angst… ALL THE FUCKING FEELS! I couldn’t get enough!!
I suggest reading from book one, you need to know the past, you need to know these characters and who they were before their story…
Bravo, Betti. Once again you’ve gone and gut-punched me hard enough to wind me. I’m sitting here at a loss… I need more. NOW!!
6 stars.. 5 ISN’T ENOUGH!
The second story in this very awesome and amazing series. In the last book I honestly didnt like the way Estella was and how she treated people and with this book I really wasnt too sure how she would redeem herself, but did she ever. I couldnt wait to read Milos story as I really liked him from book one. These two definitely have a complicated history together as they used to be best friends. There is absolutely more to Estella than meets the eye and I enjoyed getting to know her on a more deeper level than whats on the surface. I think they have both had feelings for each other but didnt do anything about it. Now hes going to help her anyway he can. I completely and utterly fell for these two and my emotions were just all over! They were so perfect for each other!
What I like about Betti Rosewood’s books is that they continue with the characters she has already introduced and even do plot wrap-ups from prior books. The story of mean girl Estella changes drastically from Homecoming Queen to a working girl mistreated and abused by her father. Although she’s been Natan’s girlfriend for months, her real love is his older brother, Milo and the plot is outrageous. Milo has loved Stells since he met her in primary school. His faithfulness is really the base of what makes the plot work. Recommended read!
Betti does it again!
This book focuses on Milo and Estella’s romance.
Milo..that man! Hes geeky and hot with a dirty mouth, I love him. I loved Estella’s character development. She changed so much.
The storyline was really good. There was plenty going on to grab and hold your attention. Angst, drama, danger, mystery, secrets, romance, humor, some full blown crazy, heartache, excitement and some never see them coming twists; what more can you want from a book.
Definitely can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen in book 3
Home life that of walking on eggshells forever fearing an impending explosion from her papa.
The brothers have her attention, keep her sane. One on her arm, and the other in her mind. Did she choose the wrong one?
Shes the girl he runs towards no matter what. The girl who he wishes was his, the girl who he needs and wants, yet watches in the arms of his brother.
I’ve been watching and waiting not so patiently for this book, having read the first book in this interconnecting series “boys that tease” where Estella was the character you loved to hate.
This book she shines as the spotlight rains down upon her. She truly comes into her own.
You see the cracks she hid so well, you see the facade she hid behind, crumbling and you get the bare faced girl who just needs to be loved. Beautiful!
Milo is the guy who was right for her, though it wasnt their time. He needed her to become her better self and see him. Really see him.
They make for a fantastic couple and hes the kind of character we all swoon and dream of. The knight minus a steed.
If I was to compare this book to something it would be a bar of galaxy. As stupid as that sounds it’s TRUE! Its smooth and delicious, an indulgence you cant get enough of and your left with a deep desire for more more more!
I’m loving Betti Rosewood so much and cant wait to read more of the lords and their ladies. I just hope I dont have to wait too long.
