I LOVE #MYBOYZ
Geez, once again Meagan works her magic with this sexy, engaging, angsty YA romance that will have you pulling your hair out in the best of ways. Meagan doesn’t give us easy and simply characters with Boys of Brayshaw. But then again, that’s just not her way. We get complex, strong willed young adults that will demand your time and attention every step of the way.
Meagan demands your attention from Page 1 and doesn’t let go, not even at the very end. There is NO shortage of excitement in this juicy romance. My heart and head were all over the place, the roller coaster of emotions were at an all-time high. If there is one thing Meagan knows how to do it’s get her readers riled up, ragey and looking for someone to take their frustrations out on.
Raven was an awesome heroine. Man, this girl was tough, smart and sassy in all the ways that mattered. Her fierce nature was simply intoxicating. I can’t even put into words how I felt about the “Boyz,” Royce, Captain and Maddoc. Their connection was like nothing I’ve ever seen before. They’re not family by blood, but that doesn’t matter to these three. They are so in sync with one another it’s as if they fill a missing piece in each other.
I was a mess during this bumpy ride. Sometimes I didn’t know up from down, but Meagan carried me through this crazy ride the only way she knows how. She pulls you apart, makes you think and shocks you in ways you can’t imagine. This is all part of her master evil plan. But when the roller coaster comes to a stop, you realize what a great journey she’s taken you on and she was there every step of they way. What’s next?!? Only Meagan knows what’s in store for Rae and the Boyz. She’s going to make us wait, but it will be worth it.
5 HOLY HOTNESS STARS!! All I can say is Holy Hotness!! These three, Maddoc, Royce and Captain are what we readers call the perfect book boyfriends. They are hot, protective, athletes, brothers and fun in everyway possible. Raven is tough enough to handle these guys, beautiful, strong and able to overcome her upbringing. Their story takes us on one heck of a ride, it grabs you on the first page and keeps you until the last word. You definitely should 1-Click this book.
I am writing this at 1:30 in the morning. WHAT THE HECK?! I couldn’t put this book down. It is SO INTENSE! My stomach is still in knots. My mind is reeling with where this story left me. Ugh! These characters drew me in and didn’t let go.
Raven is one of the most intriguing and real characters I have experienced in awhile. She acts and thinks EXACTLY like someone would who comes from her world. Self-protection and disinterest has become her armor. In her life she has learn to wear it to protect herself. It is the only way she can survive. OMG how she unintentionally reels these three Bradshaw High boys in is priceless. It so is NOT her goal. She is just wanting to exist under the radar until she can get out. I am seriously so in love with her and what a fighter she is. I could talk about her FOREVER! I won’t but I hope you agree with me about her awesomeness.
Ok let me tell you a little about these boys. Maddoc, Royce, and Captain were hard to like initially. Personally, I think that was this author’s intent which she did beautifully. I knew they had a lot of story to tell but I wasn’t sure if I could take their “lords of the lair” attitude (haha). What really saved it for me was Raven’s interactions with them. All I kept thinking is “GO GIRL”. She was too feisty to not give it back to them. As the story progresses these bad boys started changing their spots or maybe I just got greater insight, who knows. Whatever it was, I fell under their spell.
The second part of this book I was fluctuating between adrenaline rushes or a melting heart. What a roller coaster ride of emotions. Yikes! Yes this is one of THOSE STORIES! Eek! Plan for a story that ends with you going WHAT?! Wink wink! Happy Reading!
“Blood runs deeper than family” I hole heartedly believe this saying as I have many friends that this is true for. Meagan has done it again with this one and I can’t wait for everyone to read it.
Raven (Rae, RaeRae) if feisty AF and a scraper if needed. She has learned the hard way the need to take care of herself because the one person she should be able to depend on, doesn’t take care of her. When you have people who at first are hard to gain trust from, see something in you that you can’t see, well that just makes it harder to express or even feel what a real family is.
The Boys of Brayshaw seem to an outsider as the bullies of the school, but when they meet a force to be reconed with, they feel the need to protect her no matter what.
I can say there were times I was like ok when will Maddoc and Raven just admit they like one another instead of tip toeing around it. The buildup was killing me, but as the saying goes all good things come to those who wait, yeah well I was dying in the mean time.
I am really excited for this series and know it will be one I will re-read many times.
This was my second book by Meagan Brandy so I kind of knew what to expect. I sadly won’t be able to rate it high stars like everyone else. Honestly, this review is going to all over the place. I didn’t know if I wanted to rate it 4 stars because it was entertaining or 3 stars because I had some issues with it.
Like I said while reviewing Fumbled Hearts This book was also a mix between the Fallen Crest series & The Royals series to me. Nothing wrong with that, I am just using them as a comparison.
We have one tough girl and three boys who want to knock her down a peg. We also get enemies to lovers. Our main girl is Raven Carver and she is supposed to come off as a bad girl. Well, I’m assuming so. Anyway, Raven is a lot to take in. I can get what the author was trying to do with Raven’s character, but she came off as a bit much for my taste. Honestly, Raven needed to tone it down. We get it, you’re tough and don’t mess with you.
Moving on to the guys. I did end up caring for them after a while. Which honestly surprises me because they said and did some things that I didn’t think they could come back from. After seeing them with Raven later on in the book, they came for my heart. I liked the way they began to care for her. Even though they were uncertain about it, they were still vocal about their feelings.
These four became a group that I would love to be invited to. They had each other’s back and made a force that was hard to break.
I did say I had some issues with this book and I really did y’all. I’ll leave some short ones and then explain my biggest issue.
-There’s no actual plot.
-This could have been SO MUCH SHORTER!
-So much girl hate! Oh my goodness, so much of it!
The main issue for me was Raven’s self-sabotage. She was entirely negative about her life and situation. Just because you came from nothing doesn’t mean that’s how your life has to be forever. She never even tried to change it, she just wanted to run away. I was honestly getting tired of her “woe is me” monologues.
While it was entertaining, there was no plot and the book could have been way shorter. I will continue with the next book in this series because I’m still intrigued and I need to make sure that those guys are okay.
** I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy.
If I could give this book 6 stars, I would in a heartbeat. This book was so much more than I was expecting, and I never wanted it to end!
This book was about learning to trust, family bonds, and understanding that you don’t have to take on the world by yourself.
Raven was such a strong character who had grown up knowing that she could only rely on herself. She didn’t take crap from anyone, even if meant embarrassing herself. Her pride was all she had, and she wouldn’t let anyone affect her.
Maddoc, Captain, and Royce has such a strong bond. These brothers took care of each other and used their power in the town to accomplish their goals. They trust no one but each other, and they do not need anyone either.
Raven gets to these boys more than anyone else. They each need her more than they want to admit. As time goes on, the bond they form is unlike any other. Even when Maddoc and Raven grow closer, they continue to stay a unit.
The twists, turns, and sexual tension will have you wanting more and believe me…you will get it! BOBH ends on a jaw dropping cliffhanger.
This book will definitely be one of my top reads for 2019.
-An Arc was generously provided in exchange for an honest review.-
“These boys, they think I’ll follow their rules. They’re wrong.”
HOLY FREAKING CRAP! Now that is starting a series out with a bang. I’m not even sure how to collect my thoughts after a book like that! Boys of Brayshaw High is seriously fantastic! Wow. Every time Meagan Brandy writes a book, I swear they get even better than the last! I NEED MORE! Everything about this book captivated me from the very first page. I had to devour this book like a women possessed. I just could NOT put it down. I loved how this book is so original and unique. I can honestly say I haven’t read anything like it before. It’s a touch of basketball, with a mix of power, and a heavy dose of feels. I can’t begin to describe all the emotions I felt this book. It seriously brings them all.i definitely wanted to hurl my kindle quite a few times. I LOVED the authors ability to draw you into the characters. Not just the main characters Maddoc, Captain, Royce, and Raven but the the other characters as well. I loved and hated so many characters but each one has me intrigued about what they will bring next in book 2. I know I definitely want more of them Bray Brothers! Maddoc, Royce, and Captain each stole my heart in a different way. Spring can NOT get her quick enough!
You’re this lethal ass combination of girl they never knew they wanted to be until now but couldn’t match if they tried.”
Raven is officially my favorite heroine to date. I have never read another heroine quite like her. Everything about her was just bada$$!! She let nothing stand in her way. She faced everything head on and with complete confidence. Raven’s character knee how to give as good as she got. She will instantly draw you in with her fiesty, head strong ways. Raven will constantly keep you on your toes. You never know just what you are going to get. Her haunted past will tug at your heart strings. But the loyal, determined, strong women that overcome that is what you admire most.
“This must be a part of why they’re loved and feared. Or secretly hated, but respected nonetheless. Because in the company of others, they work as one.”
The Brayshaw Brothers are out to steal your heart. Maddoc, Royce, and Captain are 3 very different alphas united as one. I don’t think I could pick one if I tried. Each brother pulled at your heart for a different reason. Royce is a free spirited jokester of the group with a heart of gold. He brings this light, fun vibe that you need. I love he can have you laughing one minute, yet fierce and commanding your attention the next. Captain took me while to warm up to, but Once I did I was hooked. He is nothing like you expected. His caring ways had your heart squeezing with swoons. He may be hard on the outside, but inside he wears hus heart on his sleeve. Maddoc is a whole different level. His character is intense, cold, and dominant. He commands your attention, while stealing your breath with his intensity. You can’t get enough of his cocky, arrogant ways.
“here I sit, comfortable on the lap of the king, confident with his palm spread across my abdomen, and strong with his princes at our sides. This is their world, and it seems I’m in the middle of it.”
*5 STARS*
Is so well earned with this book. I CAN NOT RECOMMEND READING IT ENOUGH! This is hands down going in my best reads of 2019 folder. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next installment to what I believe is going to be a fabulous series!
I knew this book was going to be everything i wanted and more, this was right in my wheel house and was so excited to meet the Boys of Bradshaw. I love the whole High School genre, where the top boys are in charge of the school and it takes a tough girl to get through their armour.
This book was long but it was so good some books can go on but everything that was written in this book needed to be there. We get to meet 3 boys who are family by circumstance but have a special bond and a girl who just never wants to turn out like her mother.
It’s a case of who trusts who and who is playing who this book is full of angst, mystery has you turning the pages bad not wanting to put it down. I loved the chemistry between all 3 brothers with each other and with Raven.
I loved all three Boys, Captain with his secrets but the one that needs support, you have Royce who is the joker but he feels so much and is sensitive but I love Raven and his friendship to me it was really special. Maddoc was the hardest to read and he was very intense and was going to take a lot to get through to him.
I loved Raven ’s and one of the brothers chemistry it was hot and off the charts but they just didn’t give you what you fully hoping for too quickly and I loved this slow burn, push and pull and between all four of these characters.
The best part of this book was the ending ohh does it keep you hanging for the next book and I love nothing better that this story has not finished.
This book as it all the drama, the angst, amazing writing and fantastic story line, if you have never read Meagan Brandy then you need to start now one of my favourites for 2019.
I am always a bit hesitant to start a YA book, but this one was screaming my name with the sassy heroine and angst. The anti-heroes are not yet men, but are definitely not boys either. And this heroine is all things feisty, defiant, and independent…she is the center of their storm, and their story will suck you right in from the beginning.
The three Boys of Brayshaw High, Maddoc, Royce, and Captain are EVERYTHING I love about young adult anti-heroes. They are possessive, loyal to each other, intimidating, and hot AF. Although they are not related by blood, they certainly act like true brothers and I absolutely loved how they did nothing on their own, and were there at a drop of a hat when the other one called – no matter what. Their fierce passion and deep emotions came out more and more frequently as their story went on, and I fell for them hard. I wanted to hate them, but could only fall for them in the end. They will break your heart and make you swoon at the same time.
Raven is one of the toughest heroines I have ever read. She has her guard up so high emotionally, lets no one in, gives zero F***KS, and has a broken and dark past. She has had no one – and I mean no one – in her life care for her, and has been taught to rely on no one but herself. When these boys come crashing into her life, you want to protect her, but quickly learn that she is not the one who needs protecting – she simply needs to open her heart and life up to someone, anyone who will let her in. She does not trust easily (or at all), and I found myself yelling at her to just LET SOMEONE IN.
“To feel is to follow. And I’ll pave my path along no one’s steps but my own.” – Raven
This story will take you through all of the HS drama with some catty girls, bullies, hooking up, drugs, parties, etc… but it goes beyond to a much deeper level where these broken young adults are forced to grow up quickly on their own and navigate a world that has not been kind to them. I love the angsty emotional roller coaster and edginess of this book, and I CANNOT WAIT for Book #2. Well done M. Brandy – I am officially a fan!!!
Meagan Brandy’s “Boys of Brayshaw High” brings it. A story of finding yourself. A story of breaking down walls. A story of young adults living years beyond their age. A story of finding first love. A story of survival. I loved the shocking angst this story gave me. Raven is a young woman trying to survive on her own. Maddoc, Captain, and Royce are young men untrusting of anyone trying to get to close to them. Their connection to each other is strong but they connect in ways that’s new to all of them. It’s even more with Maddoc and Raven. In the end they all want what is best for each other. Take a journey with the Brayshaw crew. This story will have you needing more.
No Sacrifice Too Great For Her Boys
They were family. Three high school boys ruling their town. The Brayshaw Boys were all about secrets, manipulation and control…until Raven turned their lives upside down.
Raven was a total bad ass! Piss her off, watch out. Get in her face, get ready for a fist in yours! Hold back, not in her make up.
Raised by a single mother that cared more about getting high than her daughter. Making money on her back, while her daughter tried to avoid the perverts. She became hardened, tough on the outside. No friends, unable to trust anyone.
Then she’s sent to a girls home and a new school. She’s almost eighteen. All she has to do is survive until then so that she can start her own life. Somewhere where no one knows her or her past. She just needs to lay low and graduate.
Raven can’t let the snide remarks and insults go without reacting. Now she’s got the attention of the Brayshaw Boys! Maddoc, Royce and Captain are a force! Do not mess with them or they will make your life hell. Raven…nothing deters her. She was fearless. I think the Brayshaw boys finally found exactly what they needed.
I loved everything about this story. The Brayshaw Boys will make you fall in love times three. The sexual tension between Raven and Maddoc was OFF THE CHARTS HOT!! That boy had control like no other. Is there anything better than a possessive, protective alpha a$$hole? Maddoc met his match with Raven. Backing down to him or anyone else was not in her nature. However, behind all that hardness, was a heart of gold. When she lets you in, no sacrifice is too great to protect those she cares about. A story that will suck you in and leave you with a hangover! There is so much more story to be told. I WANT MORE!!!
God damn! I don’t think I put this book down for five minutes total after I started! I was sucked into the Brayshaw world and trapped their! This book is intense in the most beautiful way. Raven isn’t the typical high school girl who is Gaga over the elite boys. She fights it every step if the way. She’s been dealt a crappy ass life and her trust is broke. I so didn’t see the end coming and can’t wait to see what her boys do next! Maddoc is on my top list of broody alphas now too!
OMG… I loved this book. Boys of Brayshaw High stole my heart. Alpha assholes, a kickass, tough heroine and a storyline that I could not put down, are just some of the reason this novel held my interest. It was addictive, bold and riveting and I was captivated until the very end. These characters were intense and extremely complex. You will love them and hate them and then love them again. This novel was a mature YA enemies to lovers story. Its about loyalty and trust and it shows us that family is more than just blood. It will have you at the edge of your seat, the twists and turn will leave you shocked and that cliff-hanger ending will leave you wanting more. This was my second book from Meagan Brandy and I loved it. It was fantastic read and I would highly recommend it.
Boys of Brayshaw was my first Meagan Brandy read but definitely not my last. It was intense and so gripping! I could not stop reading as the badass girl from the wrong side of the tracks met her match in the three boys who took all the sass she threw and gave it right back to her Brayshaw style. I seriously didn’t want it to end!
Gah!! Without giving away spoilers, Raven Carver had no idea what she was dealing with when she decided to cross the three alpha dogs in her school – Maddoc, Royce and Captain. What follows is a rollercoaster of epic proportions. It was almost like a soap opera. Who can you trust and who had an ulterior motive?
I loved this story as it was angsty, thrilling and so sexy. Raven was so sassy and independent and it was so fun watching her go head to head with these guys and all the drama surrounding them. And the guys? OMG they were sexy af. I seriously can’t wait for book two! Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula
Oh my freaking God, Meagan you did it again, what a rollercoaster of a book in a good way of course 🙂 Didn’t care for the Brayshaw boys at the beginning but I was rooting for Rae, then Royce started to growing on me, then of course Cap and last Maddox. Raven had a shitty childhood, but the girl knew how to stand her ground, better watch out if you picked a fight with her, bacause she would fight back, and of course that upset the order for the Brayshaw boys, even when she had their backs. The only downside is that I have to wait for the next one…but differently one click this you won’t regret it.
Boys of Brayshaw High are not your typical high school boys and Raven is definitely not the girl next door. But when the Brayshaw boys meet Raven, they realize that they have met their match . . . or their equal? Raven was a dealt a crappy hand in the mom department and ends up being removed from the home and moved to a different town and a new school. The boys of Brayshaw run the school and the town and like things their way. Raven is not one for following the rules and finds herself in their sites on the first day. This book has all the drama! The Brayshaw boys remind me of the lost boys who have found their Wendy, just a little twisty. Can’t wait for the next book!!
The Boys of Brayshaw High is an enchanting, grungy, and addicting read. Once I started this book, it was the only thing I could think of and I stayed up until 4 am because I just HAD to finish it. I loved the honesty and realistic issues that surrounded Raven and the Bray Boys. Raven is such a fierce and independent woman. I loved her strength and courage and hope that she will learn to see herself as worthy in the next Brayshaw books. And the Brayshaw Boys…oh the Brayshaw Boys. They are sexy, loyal, protective, and caring behind those fearsome masks they wear. After reading The Boys of Brayshaw High, I am definitely a fan! #BrayGirl
“Someone for Captain to care for, someone for Royce to worry about, someone for Maddoc to protect.”
I voluntarily received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
HOLY FREAKING MOLY! WHAT THE F*CK DID I JUST READ?! Let me just start off by telling you all that this story was everything and I do mean EVERYTHING! The storyline was BEYOND EPIC and so UNLIKE anything I have ever read before. The angst factor was cranked WAY UP HIGH and I wasn’t sure if my heart could keep up with the intensity of the story, which definitely isn’t surprising with this author. Last year Meagan Brandy quickly became one of my favorite authors and I have not missed a single one of her releases since. Her stories are one of a kind reads that will ALWAYS captivate you wholeheartedly and leave you in a trance!
Boys of Brayshaw High is technically a young adult romance, but let me tell you that it is not your normal sweet run of the mill kind of young adult read. This story was seriously messed up (of course in the best way possible) and was addictively captivating from beginning to end! I found myself trying to catch my breath many times throughout when the intensity came to hard to handle. The Boys (Maddoc, Royce, and Captain) and Raven (Rae) will immediately hold a special place in your heart whether you want them in there or not, but of course you will! Trust me these characters are hard to resist, not that you would want to anyway. These are hands down some of the BEST characters I have ever read! I mean come on Meagan Brandy how the heck did you come up with these phenomenal characters? What inspired you to write them this way and tell their story like this? I NEED ANSWERS WOMAN! LIKE NOW!
This story is just releasing and I am already shouting that I need book 2…like RIGHT NOW! Meagan Brandy is going to slowly k*ll her readers with the wait, especially after that AH-FREAKING-MAZING WHAT THE F*CK cliffhanger ending! I am still screaming NOOOOO at the top of my lungs. Please tell me that we won’t have to wait that long…OH PRETTY PLEASE with cherries on top!
For the love of all that is Holy! I am still having a hard time compiling all my thoughts on this book. If I could give a book more than 5 stars this would definitely be one that earned it! From very early on I felt everything! I honestly felt like I was that 17 year old girl. Confused. Lost. Alone. And then having a hard time not getting attached to the things I really wanted to get attached to. At first I hated the boys. I thought they were arrogant and spoiled. Then I when I got more into learning their story I was amazed! And then they took a liking to Raven and it was over! My heart was gone… so much teenage angst! And I cried!!! This book made me cry! The feels were there! The fact that I was personally feeling like I was back in my teen years tells you how great this writing is. I even had knots in my stomach to emphasize that teenage anxiety! The ending had me crying and feeling like I was punched in the gut! And now I am on pins and needles waiting for the next book so I can get my BOBH fix!!
Ahhh talk about an epic book hangover!! Boys of Brayshaw High was amazing. It consumed me from start to finish and I could not get enough. Raven, she is one of my favorites heroines so far. She was feisty, tough, a little damaged but pretty awesome. The boys were cocky, strong, loyal, protective and delicious! I loved the dynamic of all of them. I am seriously dying to read book two!
