Those were the exact words of my social worker when she dropped me in my newest hellhole, a place for “troubled teens”.
I didn’t listen, and now I’m on their radar.
They expect me to play along in their games of hierarchy, to fall in line in the social order they’ve deemed me fit.
Too bad for them, I don’t follow rules.
Too bad for me, they’re determined to make sure I do.
Inconceivably attractive and treated like kings…these are the boys of Brayshaw High.

This is book ONE in a THREE book series.more
This is one of those books where before reading, I saw nothing but great reviews so I went in expecting a good book. Let me tell you…I was not prepared for this phenomenal story. Not one bit! It rose far and above what I expected and I’m still having a hard time wrapping my head around just how amazing it is. Meagan Brandy has given us an astounding story of strength and grit, and beautiful, touching connection. The four main characters are seriously some of the best characters I have read…possibly ever. They all have a depth beyond their young adult years. Raven is spectacular, with her hardened views and pure conviction to just survive. She has never had anyone that she could count on until she meets the Brayshaw boys. Her boys! These guys…I love them all. Their love and loyalty to each other gives me pure contentment. At the same time, I’m so scared that something is going to happen to one of them and I just can’t take the thought. They also, for so long now, have only been able to rely on their close knit group (with an exception or two) so it’s not surprising that they are just as weary of Raven as she is of them. Their defenses are up and they react negatively to this new girl who doesn’t take ish from anyone. In a plot that is intense and suspenseful, the reluctant realization that they are good for each other is a delightful slow burn. I have not done this book justice with my review, but please, PLEASE read it! You will be left more than satisfied, yet deliciously anxious for more. Meagan Brandy’s Boys of Brayshaw High is a top read, and not just of the year! 50 stars if I could!
quintessentially captivating! From the beautiful cover to the amazing story that simply sucked me in and refused to let me go. I was enamored from the moment the story started and left me feeling the need for more. The next book can not come soon enough. Well done to this fabulous author for bringing her characters to life and sharing her crazy mind with us.
Holy Sh*t on a cracker this book was fu*king Amazeballs! Ahhh!! That ending! I’m still screaming at my kindle! let me start by saying this author is new to me! The book was recommended in a group I’m in and I’m so excited that I took a chance! Boys of Brayshaw High was highly addictive! These boys are intoxicating! I want to be a Brayshaw Girl!!!!! Raven is the best kind of character! She’s 100% original! She is all feisty and full of fierceness! She is most definitely a force to be reckoned with. I loved that she stood up for herself from start to finish and never purposely wanted the spotlight or changed. She has her own set of rules and is just trying to bide her time surviving until she’s legally an adult. Unfortunately for her, it seems that trouble has a way of finding her. The Boys! Gosh, what a deliciously intense trio! Maddoc, Cap, and Royce are mysterious pain in the A$$es! I loved all three of them so hard! They only have each other and it’s astonishing how much power they hold! These three are part of a much bigger picture that is yet to be revealed! Gahh!!! I can’t wait! I’m obsessing like a hot mess over these characters and their lives! Somebody tell Megan Brandy that she has me hook, line and sinker! Read This! Fall into this Amazing book and get lost in the world of Brayshaw! Once again, I’m completely looking forward to the next installment in this series! And I definitely have a favorite Boy! #TeamRoyce
Holy crap! Meagan brandy did it again!!! I love a good a-hole who is brought to his knees by a strong heroine. Raven is everything you hope a girl can be.. strong, bitchy, awesome and self aware. She knows when and how to turn it on and she does it well. Loved this book and can not wait for Trouble at Brayshaw.
Ladies and gents, I picked this book up on a whim. I have never read anything by the author before but decided to try it because I have been in a romance slump forever and wanted something new. WOW WOW WOW. This book it utterly FANTASTIC. I swooned HARD for the Brayshaw boys and slowly savored every single word until the final sentence. This book is EVERYTHING. I can’t even begin to describe to you how much I loved this book. It consumed me. It made me feel BUTTERFLIES. It had me chuckling to myself (I cannot get over their actions towards Raven), and it made me HURT. This book has everything I didn’t know I needed in a romance and SO MUCH MORE. I am literally freaking about because I found a book that captivated me, stole my heart, and made me ache. It’s just so phenomenal that I can’t even think straight. I know this book won’t click for every reader but that doesn’t matter because it did for me. If you are looking for an angst filled, drama riven, swoon worthy book with original and hardcore characters, you need this book in your life. I loved it so much that I went ahead and bought the paperback because I know it will be a book I re-read in the near future (actually, I just finished it and want to read it again, now!). Gah!!!!
Anyway, this is a young adult, high school romance (although it doesn’t feel juvenile in the slightest). If these kids weren’t in high school I would have thought to be college level as these characters don’t act like kids. New adult more like it, but that’s beside the point. So these characters have lived some tough lives- especially Raven. After being taken out of her home (her mother is literally a trailer trash, drug infested prostitute) she is sent to live in a group home with other girls who also come from bad environments. Thinking this will be the place where she bides her time until she can process out of the system she goes about her life as she is supposed to: goes to school, keeps her head down, and just exists. But the crowed at Brayshaw doesn’t take too kindly to fresh meat- especially the three boys that run the school (and town). This all thrusts Raven into a world she never thought she would be a part of. I won’t say much more about the plot as I think it would ruin the book for other readers but the angst filled journey is WORTH IT.
If I had to classify this book with any others I would say it has similarities to Bully by Penelope Douglas, the After series by Anna Todd and The Royals series by Erin Watt. Others say it’s also similar to the Fallen Crest series by Tijan but I haven’t read that YET so I can’t say.
I also want to mention that Boys of Brayshaw (oh, how I love these boys) does end in a cliffhanger. I don’t like that it does, but you can bet your ass the second the next one is published I’ll be all over it. I cannot freakin WAIT for it. If a cliffy bothers you, you might want to hold off on reading until book 2 comes out (Spring 2019). Other than this, I highly (like VERY highly) recommend it. Squee!!!
Meagan Brandy
I read this book on the recommendations from several friends and I am so glad I did! I was pulled in from the first chapter and read it late into the night until I fell asleep with my kindle whacking me in the face ( I hate when that happens) and then I had to re-read the last few pages in the morning because I half asleep read them.
Raven (Rae) is so alone and beautiful and lonely and self sufficient. She is broken by life and has managed to deal with it in her own way and not let it defeat her. She is tough and resilient. Maddoc and his brothers Captain and Royce have also had a rough life but they have been together through it all and managed better. They are the Boys of Brayshaw High. They are not only good looking, but arrogant, rich, and rule the school. The Gravens are a rival school and there is a gang-like animosity between the two groups.
Maddoc and Rae are so good together. Their enemies to lovers vibe is so tangible you can feel the heat between them everyone they are together. I love all their interactions and banter! And Rae’s relationship with all the brothers is so unique, she gets each one of them and as their backgrounds come out, you realize there is so much more to them!
This book has all the feels!!! And the cliffhanger!! OMG!! I don’t know how I’ll wait till Spring 2019 for the second book in this trilogy but luckily it’s only a few months away!! 5 AMAZING STARS!!
Just one more chapter. Shot, ok, one more. Ugh! Really?! Okay, one more but I HAVE to go to bed!
Ha! This was me when I was reading this book! I was captivated. I had to know what was going on. Why do these boys rule? Who are they? And RaeRae… She was perfect for them. She wasn’t afraid to give it to them straight and stand up for who she was, but also protect everyone she loved. And she loved so hard, even though she tried to hide it. I can not wait for the next book! Bring it on!!!
All aboard the drama train, non stop to Dramaville. What in the french toast is going on? Omg this book had soooo much drama. I couldn’t look away. I saw this book being recommended on fb and I’ve never heard of this author before, so I thought I would give it a go. There’s so much packed in here. I’m totally going to read the next one because it left off on a great part. I’m hooked on all of these pretend people that I can’t relate to because I’m in my 40’s and you couldn’t pay me to be a teenager again. I’m really glad I checked this one out. It was certainly entertaining times eleventy million.
Wow! This book was good! I loved and hated Raven, and I just want to scream at her to make better decisions! Loved the boys!
So, more often that none, I find books that are so hyped up often aren’t as good as I expect But this was not the case for the book! It was absolutely amazing and everything and more and it certainly lived up to my expectations. I’m not a massive fan of YA, it’s never really caught my interested. BUT THIS BOOK? Wow. It’s like nothing I’ve read before.
It’s not exactly the classic high school theme. Three hot alpha broody high school boys that think their sh*t doesn’t stink, (and I’m kind of, sort of… okay I’m full obsessed and can’t help but fall for these three guys!) and then you’ve got one hell of a heroine, she’s strong willed, she’s opinionated, she’s outspoken, and she’s just bada*s
I just love her!
The author is a master at her craft, weaving together words making them into an incredible plot that’ll have you wanting more the moment you finish the book.
5 stars
This was a fantastic book. It was long, it was in depth, and it ends on a cliffhanger. The cliffhanger I HATE, however, it doesn’t detract from the book. The characters are so well developed, and this isn’t a run of the mill YA book either. It’s a mature YA, there is cussing, drugs, and sex, but there is so much more here as well. There are secrets, lies, lust, greed, love, caring, fear, and so so much more. There was never a dull moment in this book.
Raven has to be one of the best characters I have ever read, not just in a YA, but period. She is strong, she knows what she is about, she isn’t weak, but she isn’t such a ballbuster it makes you dislike her. Maddoc, Captain and Royce are a great mix for her, they all have their personality traits and that highlighted by Raven, and it’s an awesome mix. Do yourself a favor and read this. The next book should be coming fairly soon, so it won’t crush you too bad. It’s told in dual pov.
Once you start reading you will not put this book down!! This book is amazing and I cannot wait to get my hands on more! The characters are so well done and the story keeps you reading up to the very end!
Well what can u say about the boys of Brayshaw?? OMG such dominant, alfa characters in the three boys and Raven, she is such a strong girl on the outside but with all the insecurities that anybody would have growing up like she did, buried deep down inside so nobody cand see them!
I loved reading this book, books like this are why I read!!
Can’t wait for the next one!
I am not at all happy with how this ended. Spoiler alert…….it’s ends in a cliffhanger. If I would of known I never would have read it. I am the type that waits til all the books in the series are if they end in a cliffhanger. I doubt I’ll read the rest.
“Big and bold, fearless by nature and loyal by choice.”
Seriously? This books should come with a warning! Meagan Brandy found a way to put some invisible glue between the lines that will keep your eyes on the pages, turning them until you suddenly finish reading without even realizing what just happened. I finished this book at 6 in the morning and was lucky I didn’t have to work. I just couldn’t put it down. Boys of Brayshaw High is a top level page turner!
My first book by Meagan Brandy got me hooked. The last time I felt this kind of rush while reading was with Drive by Kate Stewart. Although those books couldn’t be anymore different.
If I had to describe this book, I’d say: Take a little bit out of The Royals series by Erin Watt, a piece out of the Fall Away series by Penelope Douglas and a pinch out of the Beautiful/The Maddox Brothers series by Jamie McGuire. Mix it well, bake carefully and you are rewarded with this unicorn rainbow cake of Boy of Brayshaw High.
“There’s something about her that screams at me something deep inside me, only I have no idea what.”
What else can I say about this book if the above wasn’t enough to get you on board already?
The boys are easy to love with their mysterious but oh so charismatic vibes. Hearts of gold hidden behind walls for self-protection. I totally love their group dynamic and selfless love for each other. It’s easy to fall and root for them.
The complex heroine, Raven, just captured my heart in a storm. She’s fierce with an impressive backbone, she’s tough, genuine and feisty. A combination that made me fall in love with her right away. Raven is pretty admirable, specially when you learn about her past and how damaged and broken she really is.
“Like I said, she’s trouble. Problem is, I like the taste of trouble.”
Boys of Brayshaw High is a very delicious, intense, sexy, gripping and messed up Young Adult read that will rip you apart. It will get you addicted to the characters and speed up your heart rate from the first page to the last.
One last thing: THIS ending is seriously killing me! The next book can’t come soon enough!
That cliff! A wonderfully addictive read that kept my heart racing from start to finish. I could not put it down! 5 stars!
Absolute angsty-romance reading PERFECTION!
Holy Moly, let me tell you about I just read. This may just be my top book of 2019 even though 2019 just started. It’s already up there and it isn’t moving!
I loved Raven, she’s a total kick ass heroin and doesn’t take shit from anyone. I MEAN NO ONE! She’s fierce as fuck. I just love a strong ass woman role in a book.
Lord where do I start with these boys?? Big guy at times I hated you and at times you made me swoon. He’s so possessive and dominant. Royce and Captain hold a special place in my heart. These boys had my head spinning. I can’t wait for Trouble at Brayshaw!
One word CABIN! If you’ve read the book ladies ya’ll know what I’m referring to. HOLY HELL!!! WOWZA!
Meagan I just want to say what an amazing book you have written here. You got all us with stars in our eyes and wishing we had a little Brayshaw.

*arc received in exchange for my honest review*
I give this masterpiece of a book 5 CABIN FEVER stars!
Boys of Brayshaw High by Meagan Brandy is the perfect blend of YA angst with grit and sexiness all blended into one.
I love Meagan Brandy’s ability to draw you into her characters age storyline.
Raven Carver is a girl who has had to fight her whole life just to survive. She has been responsible for herself and gets thrown into a whole new world full of people in the midst of a power struggle.
When push comes to shove, will the Brayshaw boys be willing to accept her, or will she be left on her own all over again.

This was one of the most anticipated books of the year. Meagan Brandy has been teasing us with this series and I was SO eager to meet Raven and the Brayshaw boys.
Ever since I read the blurb I was very intrigued and we got that beautiful cover I couldn’t wait to have it in my hands. Since the beginning I was totally hooked. My love for Raven was instant, she was super intense, literally a bada**, she didn’t take crap from no one and she always had an answer on her tongue. I really liked her at the beginning, she comes from a shitty place and because of her mother, she has a reputation she didn’t deserve. But she made people respect her. Unfortunately, her mom’s reputation always follows her.
The boys, *gasp*, they’re from another world. I love how even though they’re not blood related, they’re family. They work as a unit. Maddoc, Captain and Royce are “Brayshaw’s”, like the leaders, what they say is done and everyone wants a piece of them, except Raven. Of course they noticed her, and of course she didn’t take their crap. Eventually they will learn that they need her and that she’s worth it.
I can’t rate it higher because I had some issues while reading. I was very intrigued the first half of the book but it started to lose the pace, I think that the story could be shorter, it was redundant at times. It took too long for Maddoc to BE with Raven. Also, Raven become very frustrating. I understand what she has been through but no one can be so negative in life, and I had an issue with her because the boys trusted her, she knew a lot about them and she didn’t trust them enough to work the things out as a family, so I think she never felt quite like a Brayshaw girl, even though she clearly was.
Honestly I want to read the next book for the boys, book 1 ended on a cliff that really made me mad. Not because I hate cliffhangers but because of Raven’s bad decisions. I need to know what will happen to Maddoc, the lovely Captain and the funny Royce, I LOVE them.
This book has made a difference from any other HS bully romance.
First, the heroine is a badas$ chick.
Second, she’s also feisty. To everyone.
Lastly, this time, it was her who appears to have the biggest issue and hatred and F-upness instead of the hero.
The first book is always the fountain of information so it’s important for the author to provide that in her book. Fortunately, the author did just that. But it’s obvious that the informations we gathered in the first book will be helpful for the upcoming books. So my advice? Read the book thoroughly.
I personally enjoyed this book. Although that ending…I was gutted. I was “God, no!”
But all of it was worth it. I adore the characters in this book. They all have a huge part of making this book kickas$! They also play important characters that makes the story development and progression climaxing.
This is my second book from the author and I must say, she and her books gets better every release.
