Those were the exact words of my social worker when she dropped me in my newest hellhole, a place for “troubled teens”.
I didn’t listen, and now I’m on their radar.
They expect me to play along in their games of hierarchy, to fall in line in the social order they’ve deemed me fit.
Too bad for them, I don’t follow rules.
Too bad for me, they’re determined to make sure I do.
Inconceivably attractive and treated like kings…these are the boys of Brayshaw High.
And I’m the girl who got in their way.

This is book ONE in a THREE book series.more
Obsessed with this book and it’s characters !! A great read to escape from your own crazy life
Boys of Brayshaw High has been on my radar since I saw this book recommended to a lot of groups I’m in. When I say a lot, it means A LOT! Like literally in every book group I’m in. So, you will understand that I have a bit of expectations because of the hype it has. When I read the blurb, I said to myself that I had to read it too, hype notwithstanding. That blurb was just to tempting (it is my jam, by the way) so in I went. I wasn’t disappointed. I had immensely enjoyed the character of Raven, as she is the sassy, bad ass girl who gives as much as she gets and those boys? Whew! Just insanely hot. I’d be lying if I didn’t wish that this was reverse harem cause, girl! How can you choose? Well, definitely not me. Still, never say never (fingers crossed LOL!) I cannot wait for book 2 to see what will happen next!
freaking phenomenal!!!
This is another book I put off because there was so much raving over it. Actually, there was a lot of differing opinions on both sides. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to give it a shot or not. I am glad I did.
I will admit, I have a couple of conflicting thoughts on this book. It is about a group of high school kids. Admittedly, these characters are very well developed, and I found myself drawn to them and their personalities. The conflicting thing for me is their age versus their “maturity”. In some ways, it left me felt a little conflicted.
Even though some things in this book were a little over the top, but it just worked given the story and characters. The idea that these three boys pretty much run everything in Brayshaw is a bit much, but it worked for me. In some ways, it is very much real in life, just maybe not with high school boys.
I was so consumed by this story and all of its layers. I found myself constantly thinking about it when I wasn’t reading it. I needed to read it, finish it. This was a great read for me while I was on vacation. It consumed me and now I can’t wait for the next book. I need more.
Back to the characters. These characters are everything. They are witty, strong, independent. They couldn’t have been more well developed. I felt their chemistry and closeness vividly. They worked so well together, especially with Raven on their side.
This isn’t your typical young adult book. This book is so much more. It definitely doesn’t fit the mold of the YA genre, and I loved it for that reason. It was so raw and real. I highly recommend it.
I am the first to admit that YA is not my favorite genre of romance. But after hearing nothing but stellar things about Boys of Brayshaw High, I knew I had to give Meagan Brandy’s book a shot. And am I ever glad I did! Holy smokes what a ride. It was dramatic and intense and took teenage angst to another level.
It all comes back to Raven. She was something else. Fierce. Brave. Stubborn. A bit foolhardy. Honest. Determined. She had lived a hard life in her 17 years but she wasn’t going to be a victim of her situation, she was going to fight her way out of it. Except when that fighting gets her thrown out of the only home she knows and right into the world of the Brayshaw’s, she doesn’t know exactly what to do. So she does what she is best at…pushing the limits.
However the Bray boys that run this town aren’t having it. They don’t know what do to with or about this fearless girl. They’re equal parts pissed off and intrigued. None more so than their leader, Maddoc. He is a special kind of broody. Full of distrust and bitterness but also protective and loyal to a fault. And when Raven puts her neck on the line for him and his brothers, it puts her right in the middle of his circle. And in the cross hairs of their enemies.
The intensity really ramps up in the final third. I had no idea where things were going. Threats. Schemes. Allies. Truces, it’s all there. And when push came to shove, it was Raven who made the hard choice. The one that she knew she couldn’t come back from, but was also the only one to protect everyone else. Kudos Meagan Brandy- you sucked me right into this drama and I am so ready to know what is in store next for this family of misfits.
Nothing short of spectacular!
I read a few NA books but this one is best because the author has created such amazing characters and a world where even if for the outsiders it looks pretty, it has more than you expect.
One of the strongest heroines that I’ve read and I felt for her upbringing life but in a way it’s what makes her this badass Raven that keeps all the boys on their toes, especially Maddoc.
So much drama, angst, perfect banter and so many things happening that will keep you reading this book in one sitting and when you finish it you’ll go back at the beginning and read it again because it’s that kind of amazing.
I loved the tone of this book, it was beyond
enjoyable. One of my favorite things about
this book was the protagonist, so ballsy, edgy,
and not afraid to say what’s on her mind. She also
had a heart of gold buried deep under. You see so
many sides of Raven, but the one that I liked the
most was her honesty, and her moral compass.
Maddoc and the guys were their own different
story thoug. They had basically lived by the same
code but with differences. Whereas Raven was alone,
had been all her life, she also had to look out for herself.
The Brayshaws had always had each other (Maddoc, Cap, & Royce)
and had grown up in a very, very different environment.
That cliffhanger almost killed me though
Omg!! Not many times I can say I’m speechless.. Raven is a total complete badass and now shes my favorite FC! The Boys.. can we say Hot!! Every single one will make your knees weak.. I truly loved page by page.. and it completely changed what I read from now on true eye opener! Fantastic read!
This YA story had everything I love to read about…cute, alpha boys, angsty drama, tough, feisty girl who doesn’t back down and all of the high school cliques. It was such a page turner and left me wanting MORE, MORE, MORE! Rae/Raven was a girl I could get behind…she isn’t afraid of anyone and doesn’t care what others think of her. Maddoc, Royce and Captain are the guys in charge at the school and with those three, who wouldn’t want to be a Bray Girl? I LOVED this book and the Brayshaw High world. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
I can’t even.
Massive book-hangover. So bad.
This was amazing. The characters, the writing, the story,… I couldn’t get enough of it. I’m not usually into books where the characters are still in high school, but this one sucked me in like no book in a long time.
I cannot wait for the next one!!!
I picked this book up because I was hearing such amazing raves and reviews and I’m so glad I did. The book is by far in my Top 10 Reads this year and I couldn’t recommend it more!
I can’t tell you which of the Boys I loved most, Maddoc, Royce or Captain, because each makes you love them in their own way. What I can say I love most about them is their strong family ties to one another even though they are not blood related. The Boys are bound together and you feel the loyalty and love between them. Raven, talk about a badass heroine. I love a female character who is able to stick up for herself and stand up to those who try to tear her down. Raven is that heroine and more. You feel for her struggles but you quickly learn she is able to cope and rise above.
Now, this book ended with a cliffy and it’s a doozy BUT don’t let that deter you from diving in. I loved the boys and Raven and their story continues with Trouble at Brayshaw High.
5 OMG I loved these boys stars!
You gotta read this book! Omg one of my top books of the year already. I’m a BrayGirl for sure! If you like high school age characters and lots of drama and angst, this will be a home run for you. I love tough heroines too! can’t wait for book 2 in May 2019.
This book is amazing!! I couldn’t give it enough praise!! It got me out of a serious reading funk! I read the whole book in one sitting needing to know what was going to happen next!! I was mesmerized by the story me the characters and I can’t wait to see what happens next!! All the boys are perfect additions to my harem!!
After seeing lots of talk of this book online and with lots of my friends reading and raving about this book there was no way I coudnt not read it so I did and OMG I was hooked instantly and blown away. Meagan Brandy has a new fan.
Meagan has delivered us a brilliant book about trust, loyalty and chosen family. You will be completely addicted to these Boys of Brayshaw High.
Maddoc, Captain an Royce are a force of nature. They command attention from all around them. The girls want to be with them and the boys want to be with them. They don’t easily or let anyone in their inner circle. Together they are a team, family.
Rae, oh how I love this girl, serious girl crush here. She has been through hell but is still a strong, feisty badass. She has a vulnerability she keeps hidden. I want to draw her in and protect her. She deserves to be loved.
So much goes on in this book you will need to have a quiet space to enjoy, to go through all the emotions that assault you and to read in peace. My poor husband learnt after the 2nd time of interrupting that he should NEVER do that again lol.
I am now awaiting the next instalment of this as I can’t wait to see what brilliance Meagan Brandy brings us next.
I absolutely loved this book it was so amazing it was super good had me getting all mad at the characters and their decisions about thing how they went about it. It was really good and had me wondering what will happen next
Boys of brayshaw high is an amazing book. Meagan herself is an amazing author. The book left me wanting more. I originally read it on kindle but loved it so much I had to by my self a paperback copy. I definitely recommend reading it.
Seriously amazing read for those who love bully books!! Very well written and I can’t wait for the next book.
Wow! I really enjoyed this read. Cant wait for the next one to come out!
I really loved this! Really different, great heroine. And just loved the dynamic between the four characters. For me it was crackalicious!
I could not get enough of this book! Every spare minute that I’ve had since picking it up was spent reading it…it’s that good! Poor girl Raven is thrust into the wealthy world of the Brayshaw Boys, Maddoc, Royce, and Captain. Fitting in has always been tough for Raven, but fitting in at Brayshaw is much, much harder…not that she wants to anyway. When the boys take her under their wing, Raven experiences an internal battle between wanting to be a loner and wanting to belong. As the story (and sexual tension) develops, we begin to see the darkness that lurks not only in Raven’s past but in the Brayshaw’s present. The author gives great detail and insight into both the main and supporting characters and the world she’s built for them to live in is so realistic and believable. But there is just enough pieces missing from each person that leaves you wondering what they’re hiding and what we’re going to find out about them later. Unfortunately, the book does end in a cliffhanger, but it was definitely enough to keep me salivating until the next installment arrives.
