Those were the exact words of my social worker when she dropped me in my newest hellhole, a place for “troubled teens”.
I didn’t listen, and now I’m on their radar.
They expect me to play along in their games of hierarchy, to fall in line in the social order they’ve deemed me fit.
Too bad for them, I don’t follow rules.
Too bad for me, they’re determined to make sure I do.
Inconceivably attractive and treated like kings…these are the boys of Brayshaw High.
And I’m the girl who got in their way.

This is book ONE in a THREE book series.more
WTH did I just read??? How have I not read this before?? I’m in love with this book. These boys and Raven are just so much love. Maddoc and Raven especially. The angst, emotions, love, just everything in this book was freaking amazing. Meagan is becoming one of my favorites and I couldn’t be more proud. On to the next book….
3.5/5 Stars
I am going to be completely honest and admit that I have no idea how I well and truly feel about this book. There are parts of this book that perplexed me and irritated me and then there were parts of this book that I was hanging on to tightly. It’s kind of maddening and this review will probably be helpful to no one but here it goes.
These characters were frustrating at the best of times. I couldn’t pinpoint if that made me like them more or less though. A little bit of both honestly. I could not stand Raven, the female lead character, at all at the start of the story. And really, I felt the same way about the other main characters, Maddoc, Royce, and Captain. As the story progressed I warmed up to them a little bit though. Enough not to hate them, at least. I think that what I liked most was the camaraderie and friendship that formed between this odd quartet. The four of them together just had this intense chemistry that was undeniable. Even if the push and pull could be headache-inducing at times.
The romance in the story was hit and miss for me. Maddoc’s character was possessive to the extreme. At times, it was pretty hot. Other times, it felt excessive. The balance was just a little off with it. Though the chemistry between Raven and Maddoc was super electric and palpable. There was a lot of back and forth with these two. They definitely kept things interesting.
The story was a little bit hard to follow in the beginning. There is a rivalry that the reader doesn’t know much about so it’s hard to get a grasp on what is really happening in the story. I felt that the male dominance was a little much. Even with some confusion, the story is still compelling enough that the reader desperately wants to know what happens next. I wanted to throw this book at the wall at times but I still wanted to read more after raging.
Overall, this was certainly an entertaining read that kept me on my toes. It had a lot of elements that I enjoyed and some that didn’t really work for me. Just keep in mind that my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt. I only just finished the book and it could very well be that I need more time to sit and think about it before throwing my opinions out into the world. I am just going to shrug now and say that I didn’t hate it but I didn’t completely love it either. I think that this story is definitely an acquired taste. I don’t know what that says for me since half the time I wanted to gobble it up and the other half I wanted to spit it out. So I guess I’m calling a draw with this one. If you are on the fence about this one then I would recommend reading it. There are definitely some good things inside the pages and the things that didn’t quite work for me could very well be amazing for someone else.
Just. I’m. Whatever I’m trying to write just doesn’t feel right, or enough. I didn’t realise I would get this sucked into the book. I spent all my time trying to figure out the characters and their angle. What they were up to and what was going on. I was in there with them, rooting for them, egging them on. I love being able to read more than one point of view, it really helps get into the story. That ending though…nooooooooooooo. I need the next book and I need it stat!
You have to love a good high school read packed with drama and teens who act waaaaay older than they actually are, lol. It’s intense and angsty and the characters are all tough and rough around the edges and it’s just gritty! I really like the heroine and while I’m not entirely sure she consistently stays true to character I don’t even care cause I just like her. The whole harem of boys leaves me scratching my head a little, but it’s working so who am I to think too hard about it.
Which leads me to my next comment…what exactly is going on? I’m not entirely sure, lol. I’m not sure that it makes sense, and I’m not sure that we are supposed to 100% grasp what is happening in this community, but regardless the author has already hooked me so I’m okay with suspending belief at the moment, but if things aren’t crystal for me by the time I get to the end of book 3 I’ll be disappointed.
What drew me to this book was all the hype I kept hearing about it – and let me tell you they weren’t wrong.
At first I was confused about what I was reading – it wasn’t until I hit the 20 – 30% mark that I became hooked but once I did I couldn’t wait to keep reading.
BOBH had not one, but THREE dominant men.
Raven is one of the FIERCEST heroines I’ve come across in sometime. I loved that she didn’t take shit from anyone!!
There were times when she drove me crazy – the constant going against the guys and then bringing them closer – but with all that indecisiveness there was some SERIOUS sexual tension between the four of them. Meagan Brandy
What the hell I just ended? What the hell is with this author? Hello? Somebody hear me?
This way… this way is the WRONG way to end the books!
„Boys of Brayshaw High” is the first book in the „Brayshaw High” series. High school, young people, skirmishes sounds familiar, right?
But what Meagan Brandy done with this plot is a pure hell.
Here we can met the strongest heroine as I ever seen. I love Raven. If I was a boy, I will marry her! Dunno why these boys are so much stupid and don’t do this immidiately.
Raven Carver is my big love in this book.
But not only she!
I love the boys too. Ok, wait a moment. I’m not a loving person. But these heroes give me so many feelings and emotions that I love all of them.
Maddoc, Royce and Captain are the satanic triangle. These guys are everything, what we need to bypass. But we also love the badboys and here in „Boys of Brayshaw High” we have the perfect picture of them!
We have here a dual POV’s and a high school drama with blackmail and secrets.
Meagan Brandy you done this great.
Big ovation for You.
This book is incredible. I could not, would not put it down. I’ve now read it twice and listened to it twice. It’s my go-to when I’m in a reading slump because I know 100% it will not disappoint. If you haven’t read it, what are you waiting for?
BOBH certainly did not disappoint. I totally get why there has been so much hoopla over this series. MB weaves a story of a girl who has been beaten down but does not give up or give in. She will stand her ground and fight her own battles, never letting anyone close. Three boys, brothers not by blood who stand with each other through thick and thin and defend what is theirs to the bitter end.
“Like I said, she’s trouble. Problem is, I like the taste of trouble.”
When all eyes set on Raven they know they’ll do all they can to protect her and make her part of them. She’s the piece they didn’t know was missing. They’ll show everyone that you don’t mess with theirs.
Until Raven does the unthinkable and you’re left with your mouth gaping open thinking what the hell did this girl just do….
Hopefully you have books 2 and 3 cause you’re really going to want to know what the hell is going on. So many unanswered questions but we’re just getting started.
Wow. Just wow. I simply have no words for how amazing this book is. I am in love with this book. This was my first book by Meagan and it will definitely not be my last. This book kept my interest the entire time. Loved Raven and her boys. Intense, steamy, action, rollercoaster, so beautiful. I’m heading back to buy the rest of the books in the series. There is a cliffhanger. Jillian and Stephen did an awesome job bringing the characters to life with their narration.

***4,5 “Family runs deeper than blood!!!” stars***
Welcome to Brayshaw High!
Have i ever mention that I’m hating cliffhangers??? Yep, i have!!! Many, many times!!!
Still I’m drown to them like a moth to the fire and I’m after them… Bahahaha…
And now, for once again, i probably gonna die until the next book!!! Arrrr….
Gawd, this book was soooooo good!!! It was refreshing in a way…
And it reminded me other favorite books, but at the same time it was so different….
But in case you liked the Fallen Crest High series by Tijan or the Royals by Erin Watt, please be my guest and try this book and you will not lose!!!!
“”Girls like you aren’t exactly welcomed at a place like this, so keep your head down and look the other way.”
Those were the exact words of my social worker when she dropped me in my newest hellhole, a place for “troubled teens”.
I didn’t listen, and now I’m on their radar.”
The blurb has spoken loud and clear…
Raven is a troubled teenager and with good reasons, i may add… And now, she is forced to leave the life that she knows behind and to move in a different house, in a different school… And there she is meeting with the Brayshaw boys and their stupid rules…
Rules that her independent self and wild side will never accept and follow….
And there are starting the real problems!!!
“We make the rules and you follow… like a good little girl,” he whispers all dirty like.
It’s sexy, I’ll give him that but he’s patronizing me, the shithead…
“I hear you, big man,” I whisper…”You’re strong, I’m weak. You’re the king, and I’m the peasant. Anything else?”
The Brayshaw boys aka Maddoc, Captain and Royce are the kings of the school… They are above everyone else in there and everybody wants to be in their good sides, so they are following the rules… And then, this strange girl came into their lives and brought everything upside down…
They wanted to punish her, to keep her in line and at the same time, they were craving her near them…
Oups!!! Nope!!! It’s not what you are thinking now!!!! Your dirty minds!!!!
But i can not say more…. The story was big with much background, awful shits and beautiful things!!!! And no i can not say anything else!!!!
“Get out of my face,” I hiss.
“Get out of my head.”
I loved Raven very much… She was badass and feisty and stubborn and fearless…. She wasn’t trusting other people and she was watching behind her back all the god damn time… She was refusing to bow down to three assholes that thought they were the top of the world and i admired her for that reason…
But at the same time, she was drown to them, especially Maddoc…. And she was feeling protective of them and in a way, that characteristic of hers, pulled her into their world…
Will she accept her role in their lives or she will remain stubborn and do her thing??? And with what consequences???
“Fear isn’t my style. I don’t show it, fight not to feel it, but at the end of the day, fear is the very thing that keeps me up at night.”
“Here, they’re not three boys who need more, they don’t smile at donuts, or enjoy the rain.
Here, they’re the Boys of Brayshaw and nothing else.
So why did I get to see a little from the inside?
An even better question, why does it make me feel… I don’t know how i feel.”
Well, i loved the boys so damn much!!!! A little bit more Maddoc, big man, i think!!!
They were so bound together.. They were brothers who were loyal to each other… Together, they could achieve anything in the world, but unfortunately, they had serious enemies who were there all the damn time…
Raven became a problem for them from the first problem and they really tried to put her on line with various, nasty attemps, but she managed to get under they skin and to become something vital for all of them…
“Raven’s got that ‘fuck you and your world’ attitude -something we’re not used to. It only adds to her appeal.
She’s sexy, likes to argue, and breaks the mold we’ve set.
But it’s more than that. There’s something about her that screams at something deep inside me, only I have no idea what. She’s almost a mystery, one I need to unravel… with my teeth.
Like I said, she’s trouble.
Problem is, I like the taste of trouble.”
Maddoc was the leader between them… He wasn’t speaking much and he was always so serious…
Captain was the one that was taking care of the others… He was such a sweetheart….
Royce was the clown and the manwhore of this bunch…. But it was impossible not to love him from the first moment…
Together they were a complete unserapable unit… Their love and loyalty was what was keeping them together and Raven managed the three of them to become four….
Even though they didn’t fully trust her, they gave her everything they could….
“You’re down for us, Raven, even when you try to pretend you’re not.”
“This is where you’re meant to be. You’re a part of us, that means we handle our problems as a team.”
As you can pick up from above, Raven came closer with Maddoc and their relationship were full of anticipation in my part and completely explosive….
I liked very much the slow burn for the most part of the book between them… Lately, very often, I’m getting bored if the heroes got really quick together… I lose my interest, but here, that wasn’t the case… Those two had their hot moments, but because they were both hotheaded as hell, they were ruining everything again and again and that was delightful to watch… Bahahaha….
They were feisty and stubborn, but they were fitting so good together!!!!
“You should admit it now.”
“Admit what?”
“That you want me.”
“You think I won’t admit it, big man? You’re wrong. Do I want you?… When you’re pushed up on me like this? Hell yeah, I do.”
She makes quick work of pulling away and starts walking backward.
“But when you’re a few feet away, the fog wears off and it all goes to normal.”
“Yeah.” I meet her every step back with one forward. “And what’s normal?”
“Normal is you needing power, and me refusing give it.”
“If someone tries to hurt you, I need you to tell me.”
“I can’t do that.”
“Why not?”
“Because I’m not your problem.”
“BE my problem.”
And then came that ending and god, i didn’t like it at all…
I’m wondering what will happen next…
My lovely boys (Her boys!!!!) will be devastated!!!
I totally understood why Raven had to do what she did, but still… I think that she was reckless…
Many times in the book, i didn’t like how she was keeping things from them, because i think that if she was up front, together could find a solution… But nope, this stubborn girl had different opinion..
So, now, i’m fumming inside from the agony until the next book!!!!
“You need to learn how to stop and think before acting. I know, in your life, You’re accustomed to new people coming in and out, but maybe this is the first time you found some that you don’t completely hate being around. Those boys, they’re more than meets the eye. They need someone to care about and you fit more than you want to admit.”
“I don’t want it to be me.”
“Why?”
“Because I had no plan to stay around.”
I’ve had this book on my tbr for a while and finally dove in! I was so in to this book right from the start! The writing sucked me in atnd add a badass heroine and I was completely hooked! I loved the characters and the storyline. I’m desperate now for the next one!
This book was AMAZING.
The first thing that attracted me to read this book was the cover and the blurb. When I started to read I couldn’t put it down, I read it in one night. Next day I was a zombie. For me, this book was the most unexpected read of the year. This book is my first read from this author and most definitely won’t be my last read from her.
This book will drive you insane, crazy. So full of twists and turns, full of secrets and mystery, action, drama, angst, funny and hot. One of my favorite reads of all time. If you haven’t read it, you must grab it and read it right now.
I highly recommend this book!
This was a great read. I found it kept getting better and better as the storyline developed. The suspense/mystery of the story keeps unfolding. I love the slow burn and the relationship between the Brayshaw boys and Raven. Loyalty!! This is my first book from this author but it won’t be the last. Added a new favorite author!
This is such a well written story with addicting characters! Perfect for fans of Fallen Crest and Filthy Rich Boys!
The story is so addicting, it makes you lose track of time. It is action-packed with plenty of world building, humor, and steamy elements.
Rae is forced into a world she had no intention of being a part of. Her nature just does not allow her to take things sitting down. So, of course, she attracts the attention of those on top of the food chain. Seems this little place called Brayshaw, does not take kindly to those changing the status quo. To make matters worse, the Brayshaws are not the only ones with their sights set on Rae. This town seems filled with many unresolved issues and mysteries.
Rae and the guys click so well, even if they have a hard time admitting it to themselves. Rae is a ‘you don’t faze me’ type of girl. She sticks to her self and doesn’t get attached. The guys seem to have been needing something only Rae can give, but even they are unsure of what it all means.
This book was definitely worth the read and that cliffhanger had me ready to jump off that cliff!
BOYS OF BRAYSHAW HIGH, an addictive high-school drama with lots of twists and turns
This book was similar to others I have read in this genre but also very different. Boys of Brayshaw High is about loyalty, trust, and learning to love. A bond that grows between 3 teenage boys and one girl and the sacrifices made for a family not of blood.
You are introduced in book one to how these three boys rule not just the school but the town and the girl who barges into their lives and turns everything on its head. The power three gradually becomes four.
These are four complex teenagers who have had no real adult guidance, who have grown to trust one another in a way so no outsider can separate them. Raven Carver aka Rae, I cannot begin to sum up her character, she is hard, boyish and a tough nut who has come from a whore of a mother and put into foster care until she turns 18. Rae begins her new life at Brayshaw High which is a power struggle from day 1. This is a journey for all four characters which involves mainly trust.
There is drama and angst, twists and turns, a beginning of a relationship with Maddoc aka Big man as Rae calls him and a whole lot of stuff going on that keeps you turning the pages.
I always struggle with teenagers taking on the role of adults, it comes across as unrealistic and hard to read but I was entertained and will read on in the series to see where everything goes.
This book does end on a cliffhanger and there are three books in this series.
Fans of L.A Cotton and Tijan will like this series
*4 gripping stars*
I had heard so many great things about this series and a lot have recommended it but only now I had the chance to read the first book and I don’t regret it one bit! A really great start to what will definitely be one of those series that you won’t be able to get out of your head. I really loved Raven and the strength she has shown throughout the story but also the way that no matter how everyone pushed against her, she shows that she also has her heart on her sleeve…
Can’t wait to start book two! If you haven’t read this series yet, what are you waiting for? It’s definitely one of those rollercoasters you don’t want to miss out on!
When Raven has no other choice than to move into a girls home after she has shot through her last chance at her old high school, she still does what she does best. Not get attached, stay on her own and most of all, not back down whenever someone gets in her way. When she first arrives at her new school, she quickly learns that three boys are in charge and everyone bows down at their rules. But Raven aka Rae wouldn’t be who she is to challenge them and makes everyone see that she’s not the girl people want to mess with. Whatever Maddoc, Royce and Captain seem to throw her way, she stands tall. Slowly but surely, she seems to be gaining their respect but nothing is what it seems and in the end she’ll have to make a choice that will change all of them in the process…
This is my first Meagan Brandy book. I am very impressed!
Raven is the girl you always want to be your friend.
The boys are the ones you always wanted to be around in high school.
The dynamics that are created and the relationships that are built are explosive! You don’t see things coming, and the chemistry is amazing.
I can’t wait until the second book comes out! It will most definitely take priority to whatever I’m reading!
Oh wow this is a wild ride. There isn’t much I can say that hasn’t been said in a ton of other reviews but this book was great. The characters are bad to the bone (for a lack of other useable words) and I loved the banter. These characters all seem older then their high school years. They have been though so much you can’t help but just want to hug them. Raven is my favorite but the boys are all amazing too. You can’t help but love them all. Now, that ending has me crazy so I need to hurry up and start the next book. This is why I always wait for all books to be released and I’m glad I waiting with this series. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Excellent book 1 of this series of 3. see revoew of book 2 for more.
I LOVE THESE CHARACTERS!!
I’ve heard SO many great things about this series, and I’m huge fan of this genre. I’m disapointed in myself for waiting so long but at the same time, I’m glad I did because of that gaint cliffhanger. But I love a good cliffhanger and Meagan Brandy does them so well.
I absoultley loved everything about this book, I was hooked from the start and I couldn’t put it down. I finished in 24 hours and one clicked the next 2 straight after.
I loved the dynamic between the boys and Raven. They have this amazing bond that I love. There was so much chemistry, angst and twists to the story that I didn’t see coming.
I can’t wait to dive into the next book!
