Those were the exact words of my social worker when she dropped me in my newest hellhole, a place for “troubled teens”.
I didn’t listen, and now I’m on their radar.
They expect me to play along in their games of hierarchy, to fall in line in the social order they’ve deemed me fit.
Too bad for them, I don’t follow rules.
Too bad for me, they’re determined to make sure I do.
Inconceivably attractive and treated like kings…these are the boys of Brayshaw High.
And I’m the girl who got in their way.

This is book ONE in a THREE book series.more
So this is only the second book I have read by Meagan Brandy, and let me tell you she did not disappoint with this one either. Wow I really wanna be bestfriends with Raven in real life. She is a total bad ass chick! And Maddoc Royce and Captain, wow oh wow I need them in real life. This book was so hard to stop reading I couldnt put it down. so be aware once you pick it up , you will probably need to read it to the end !
This story has stuck with me months after reading it. It’s one of those series that just stays with you, the incredible world Meagan Brandy built forever at the back of your mind. An incredible read that I devoured and highly recommend.
Badass female lead
This is the first installment in this Brayshaw series. This is a Brayshaw Review! Lol I am down and in love with the Brayshaw way! Im Brayshaw all the way. I was first weirdly fascinated with the Brayshaw way. Who lives and acts like this!? What town would allow this. I was shook. Lol it is definitely a phenomenon and only a Brayshaw would know. You’re either with them or against them. Everything is so sneaky and secretive. That irked me so hard at first!!! I am Brayshaw for life now! Raven is THE ONE and do not get it twisted or you’ll regret it! These 3 boys are diehard and LOYALTY is at the top for them all.. I’m a die hard fan and this is a top series of mine. I have read the entire series and each book fits oh so perfectly together. The series is complete. Dive in and fall in love like me! 10/10!!
Boys of Brayshaw High
@meaganbrandyauthor
Good Lort. Just when I thought I couldn’t fall for any more cocky assholes, here come the boys of Brayshaw High. Maddoc, Royce, & Captain are totally drool worthy. Raven is a badass chick with a rough past. The boys & Raven do their best avoid each other, but we know how that goes Things seem too good to be true & Raven is forced to make a decision to protect the boys, but will surely ruin everything. We are left with one heck of a cliffhanger! Thank goodness I don’t have to wait for the 2nd book.
This book was amazing. It has fire, passion, love, heartbreak, one strong female character and three hot guys who just want to protect her but also need her to protect them.
Raven is a powerhouse! Shoot this girl has been through soooo much. This girl deserves to be happy. She was dealt an awful life. Maddox, Captain and Royce want to be her knights but she doesn’t need it as she can take care of herself. However, little does she know they need her as much as she needs them!
Amazing book and series!
If you love Mystery, Drama, Sports, Romance, Party lifestyle, Alpha Males, Bullies, and unraveling Secrets this book for you. I don’t want to give too much away because this book a very interesting and I didn’t want to put book down I read and reread this book haft dozen times that how good it was. Readers you will enjoy this book.
Here some insiders about the Characters:
Raven Carver young hot head teenager who not a follower. She is her own leader and has a code.
Maddoc Brayshaw one of the Alpha Male, loyal to his brother, will fight for his family.
Captain Brayshaw Alpha Male who sweet, a protector and someone who have secret that he can’t tell the world yet.

Collins Graven Rich, good look, second to line to a rival family.
Bass Bishop the go-between guy, bookie for the Brayshaw family.
If you don’t wanted spoiler don’t read this part.
My favorite scenes in the book when they kidnap Raven and took there to the cabin. Pretty much the whole cabin trip, those were some laughable, hot steamy moments. I was laughing my ass off when reading the scenes.

Raven is a badass heroine who doesn’t take shit from anyone. She had a rough childhood and being in a new town and new school, she doesn’t feel like she needs to change her ways for anyone. On her first day at Brayshaw High, she has an encounter with the three Brayshaw boys that run the school, and somehow, the whole town, Maddoc, Captain and Royce.
Even though they all got off on the wrong foot in the beginning, the boys eventually see through her hard exterior and realize that there is more to Raven than what she allows people to see and they make her one of them.
Raven has a special connection with all three of the boys, and even though she doesn’t open herself up to love easily, her heart belongs to Maddoc. Their romantic connection is a slow burn, but it is EVERYTHING when they finally give into their feelings for each other. I absolutely love them and their connection. He’s definitely on that ideal book boyfriend list.
This was my second book by Meagan, and wow, it was amazing! I was definitely blown away by it and exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend!!
The boys and girl of Brayshaw were breathtaking! 4 stars
This world and characters captivated me from the beginning until the breathtaking end. As the blurb says, Raven was dropped into the Brayshaw world, because her home life was horrible and of her need to defend and fight for herself. Immediately, she was on the radar of the 3 Brayshaw boys: Maddoc, Royce and Captain. At first, Raven was a difficult character for me to grasp, because she had a chip on shoulder. She was impulsive (usually to her own detriment), defiant and independent which I usually appreciate! She had a wall around her, and it wasn’t until she started to let them down and actually feel something for Maddoc and the boys that I finally was able to really connect with her. Raven and Maddoc had so much tension and push/pull between them that when they finally got together it was fire! The boys seemed cold and calculated on the outside, but they were so much more underneath. Their loyalty to each other was heartwarming, and it was even more heartwarming when they really started to trust Raven and be loyal to her as well. But should they have trusted her? You will have to read and find out! After that breathtaking cliffhanger, I can’t wait to read the next book and definitely recommend this one!
“The fact of the matter is, in the end, the only way to walk away … is to make sure there’s nothing you’re reluctant to leave behind. To feel is to follow.…”
I am obsessed with this one!!! I was waiting for the perfect timing for me to start this series and let me tell you this book is one the best Highschool bully romances I’ve read in a really long time!!! So yeah, this one is not a sweet story, this is dark and perfect for those who love “enemies to lovers” romance books, with a lot of drama, hate and lust. You’ll fall in love with every single character in this series, I can guarantee that if you start this one fully aware of the lack of sweetness, hearts and cheesy love…there’s no way you stop on the first book!!
Raven is not the typical teenage girl, she has a past, one she doesn’t hide; it’s because of that past that she can stand proud and strong in the new Highschool. It’s because of her true self that Maddoc, Captain and Royce noticed her the very first minute she walked on their grounds. Every town has secrets, has leaders and there’s a social ladder but Raven is so much more of what their town has ever seen; she’s meant to be there and she’s ready to prove it!
Amazing. I was gripped from the first chapter and read it all in one day.
Boys of Brayshaw High is a first read for me by this author. I didn’t know what to expect, as high school bully romances are not usually my thing. However, I was intrigued by the blurb and decided to take a chance.
Let me tell you, I was hooked. From the first till the last chapter I couldn’t put it down. For a start, I loved Raven. A damaged young woman, but street smart, strong and feisty she’s a survivor, a fighter with grit and determination and a real backbone. She knows what she wants and won’t let anyone get the better of her if she can help it. Her friendship with the boys starts out as anything but. There’s a decent amount of mistrust between them initially but gradually a friendship begins to form, albeit an unconventional and somewhat controlling one.
Whilst I didn’t always agree with their methods, I loved these boys and their secrets. Each one brings something different to the story and I loved their individual characters and their bond. However, the sexual tension between Rae and Maddoc was the thing that really stood out. It was a scorcher and anyone standing too close likely would get burned.
There’s a lot happening in this book but the story is not over yet. From what I can see, we’ve only scratched the surface. The shocking ending now has me not so patiently waiting for book 2. Bring it on!
Ahhhh I loved this book.
I am so addicted to the Boys of Brayshaw. Maddoc, Captain, and Royce stole my heart. Don’t get me wrong, they can be possessive assholes., but I didn’t really care. It was hot how broody and mighty they are running the show. What I loved even more was how Raven got under their skin, didn’t take their crap, and gave as good as took it. She is badass who gets in people’s face when they come at her foul, stands up for what is right, and isn’t afraid to punch people in the face who fuck with her. At the same time there was this vulnerability to her as her insecurities pushed through the hard exterior she works hard to keep up. Damn if she doesn’t keep that mask in place very well. This really endured me to her because she is strong and tough, but also soft as she is desperate to move towards a future where her mothers sins aren’t a constant shadow on her life.
Enter my Brayshaw boys who need her as much as she needs them. Raven is an enigma to them. She gets under their skin and before you know it she is entwined so deeply to them you don’t know where they begin and she ends. I loved how they both did everything in their power to protect one another. And don’t even get my started on the hot as hell sexual tension between Maddoc and Raven. Hot damn I was desperate for any little moment where that boy could display his dominance. But it was more than that, it was also a vulnerability you can tell he hardly ever shows.
Captain, Royce, Maddoc, and Raven fit so well together. They can read one another and knows what they need. There something brewing that we can’t quite see the full picture to and I am dying to see how this power dynamic unfolds between the Brayshaw’s and the Collins.
My new favorite series
Series Review!!!
I wish I could give more than 5 stars! A truly wonderful book series. I love Maddoc and Ravens story from beginning to the end! I want more! I know there will be spin offs I just hope they come out soon! I was feeling the emotions with the characters and holding my breath more then once throughout the trilogy. You will laugh, cry, smile and want to smack a few people but it is all worth it!!
There are twists you will not see coming and growth in the characters that will just astound you. Plan accordingly to have enough time to read these all at once! So amazing!
ANGSTY, GRIPPING, HEARTBREAKING, INTRIGUING AND COMPLETELY UNPUTDOWNABLE!!
I know this book is over a year old in publication but I’m just now discovering this author and O.M.G. I am totally blown away with this book!! The things that Raven has been through is absolutely awful which only makes her a stronger heroine throughout this book. She is without a doubt one info the strongest woman I’ve read in this trope ever! The relationship that starts with her and the Brayshaw Boys is without a doubt a tenuous one that makes this story a nail biting read. I will give it to Rae though because her snarkiness really had me laughing throughout. Maddoc, Captain and Royce are definitely possessive yet protective alphas but they do hold their secrets and friendship close! They have the a gnawing compulsion to get close to Rae and figure her out but they always seem to run into many roadblocks trying to do just that. The book does end in a cliffhanger but one I’m definitely excited for because I just ordered the other 2 paperbacks to get the entire set!! I absolutely adore and devoured this book in one sitting and I’m sure the others will be the same. Meagan Brandy’s writing style most assuredly grips you and drags you right into the story and I am loving her work!!
A DRAGGY READ WITH ALL SORTS OF WRONG 🙁
“Boys of Brayshaw” is the first book in the “Brayshaw High” trilogy by Meagan Brandy. It was supposed to be a high school bully series that is highly raved about (yes, I did my research and seems quite a number of readers gave it a high rating). Sadly the book just doesn’t work for me.
The story is about a newly transferred girl, Raven, who joins a high school ruled by the elite “Brayshaws” namely Maddoc, Captain and Royce. It doesn’t helped that she comes from a lower society class having a whore as a mother. The story outline sounds great, ain’t it? But the problem I have with the book lies in the execution.
The book is slow and draggy – I am not sure if it is because it is over a 100,000 words or the author simply doesn’t make it exciting for me to keep flipping the pages. Honestly, there were so many times I had wanted to give up on the book, but since this is my first book by this author, I decided to push through and give it the benefit of doubt. Well, obviously at the end I still didn’t like what I read.
There are a few issues I find with the book and I will give a simple explanation.
1. Writing
This is my first time reading a book by this author and personally, I don’t find her writing appealing to me. I couldn’t comprehend a lot of her writing and there were quite a number of grammatical errors. Though I usually overlook a few errors here and there, author’s writing style coupled with the errors really had me giving it a big thumb-down.
2. Characters
I get that Raven, the heroine, is supposed to be independent and has trust issues since she had a hard time growing up, so she tends to act on her own most of the time. But the fact that she knew it is stupid to act reckless since she had suffered the consequences of her actions, she still continues to do so, making me feel so frustrated!! There is a difference between being independent and being stupid and sadly, to me, she definitely belongs to the latter.
3. Plot
The thing the boys did to “calm” Raven down for to her fear of darkness just made me question why I even continue reading the book. It was so sudden and random and felt so out of place. I feel like the author wrote it for the sake of writing it and there is no deeper meaning to add to the overall story. In fact, since I am not a fan of sharing hero/heroine, this plot here totally turns me off and cements my decision to abadon this series.
4. Ending
Wow, Raven did something that I really think “how dumb” can a girl get and how that is such a typical bad K-drama plot twist, leaving me with a hair-pulling frustration!!
Overall, this book has an interesting plot that definitely has potential to be developed into a great story. However, the author’s style of writing and poorly developed characters and plot just didn’t work for me.
RATING (OUT OF 5):
• Overall: 1
• Storyline: 1.5
• Writing: 1
• Hero: 2
• Heroine: 1
• Steam: 1
• Angst: 1 (very low)
*CONTAIN SPOILERS FROM HEREON*
SAFETY:
• Hero: Maddoc, possessive of heroine but obviously not reciprocated; loyal to his two brothers in name and an extraordinary basketball player.
• Heroine: Raven Carver (age 17), independent and zero trust in others, she doesn’t want to get attached to anyone or anything and always acts recklessly. Despite making a few mistakes with that attitude, she continues doing so. To some she may seem cool but to me she is just too dumb to learn from her past mistakes?
• Safe sex: No, Heroine doesn’t seem to be on any birth control and despite the Hero offering to use a condom, I think they didn’t use it in the end.
• OM/OW drama: No
• Sexual acts with OM/OW: Yes, Heroine was fondled, kissed and given oral by all three Brayshaw boys in order to “calm” her down during her outbreak due to fear of darkness.
• Virgin: No
• Possible Triggers: Yes, an almost foursome?
• Push/Pull: Yes, Heroine kept pushing Hero away, saying she is just temporary fixture in this town and in his life.
• Ending: Cliffhanger
• POV: Dual POV (mainly Heroine’s)
This is a voluntary honest review.
Loved the characters, learning who they really were vs. who they let others see. So much strength in everyone of them!
My first book by Meagan Brandy and it wont be my last. Boys of Brayshaw is a YA Romance although the characters seem early 20’s rather than 17. It’s a bully romance but there is so much more to it that I am still trying to figure out. The Brayshaw world has a lot of secrecy, family feuds and power plays that slowly unfold piece by piece. I love novels like this that have compelling characters and a story that keeps you guessing and is multi-layered.
So the story is told in Dual POV from Raven the heroine and Maddoc the Hero. Raven has become one of my favourite heroines, she is hard core, not one to be messed with and she isn’t afraid to defend herself verbally or physically. Following rules and bending to social hierarchy is not something she adheres to and I love that about her. Her rebellious nature and refusal to tow the line is what gets the attention of the Boys of Brayshaw – Maddoc, Royce and Captain. All part of the basketball team, the one family that rules this side of town no matter who you are, you step down to the Braysahws.
Maddoc, Royce and Captain are all Alpha and have this immediate chemistry. They read each other so well, they know each others next move and work as one unit. They are smart and know how to work their game, they are calculated and purposeful; but Raven softens them. Their persona is a devil may care attitude, they use and dispose once that person has served their purpose, yet Raven challenges them. Having this girl come into their town, their school and not follow as she should gets their attention; but it’s her fight for the cause without knowing the full story or wanting to, without being asked to that has them drawn to her. Raven is taken under their wing as one of their own even if she doesn’t want to be.
I found myself totally sucked into the Brayshaw world trying to figure out what everyone’s play is; but just enveloped in the chemistry the boys have with Raven but especially their relationship as a brotherhood. I can’t wait to carry on with book 2.
