Those were the exact words of my social worker when she dropped me in my newest hellhole, a place for “troubled teens”.
I didn’t listen, and now I’m on their radar.
They expect me to play along in their games of hierarchy, to fall in line in the social order they’ve deemed me fit.
Too bad for them, I don’t follow rules.
Too bad for me, they’re determined to make sure I do.
Inconceivably attractive and treated like kings…these are the boys of Brayshaw High.
And I’m the girl who got in their way.

This is book ONE in a THREE book series.more
The Boys of Brayshaw High are far from being boys. Or at least they aren’t like boys I ever met in high school. Instead they are sexy, in charge, take no crap beasts that will make your panties melt with a wink. Maddoc, Captain and Royce are brothers by choice, with a deeper connection than blood ties, they know each other’s thoughts, they move as one, they are respected and feared. They may be boys but they live like kings.
Enter Raven Carver. She prefers to be called Rae. She’s tough, sassy, gives as good as she gets and is loyal to no one but herself. She’s lived a tough life and has learned to depend on only herself. I didn’t always agree with her, but liked her and only wanted the best for her. She deserved it.
The Boys may be one, but Rae adds another dynamic they desperately need and are not readily willing to admit. Especially Maddoc.
Maddoc and Raven are combustible. Neither willing to give into the other until finally that explosion hits. It’s worth the wait.
There are many moving parts to this story. There are also secondary characters that are more than just fluff. A few that really need to be put in their place. This is, for sure, a page turner with smart and, sometimes, hilarious banter. My frustration comes with having to wait until spring – this is only book 1 in a trilogy. Waiting has never been my forte. (
This is by far the best this year!!
I can’t seem to get enough of the Boys of Brayshaw High. They are domineering, alpha, in control, sexy as hell and take no crap from nobody. In fact, everyone listens to what they say and follow orders.
When Raven is moved to the Brayshaw home she instantly attracts attention, not the kind of attention she likes either. She likes to be left alone and doesn’t take crap from anybody, and I mean NOBODY! But she has caught the attention of the Boys of Brayshaw and at first it’s not the good kind of attention, but she’s not afraid of anyone and this girl can fight her battles. I loved her because she was such a strong heroine.
The story itself was captivating and had me completely HOOKED! I just didn’t want to put my device down because I felt like I was a part of this whole story and I loved every minute of it!
The chemistry between Raven and Maddoc was off the charts! I loved how these guys were so overprotective of everything they cared about and even though Raven didn’t want to belong to these guys, they made sure she fit in with them because she was tough as nails and a loyal person at that and she wasn’t afraid of anything and the boys liked that about her. She earned their trust and now she was going to have a hard time getting rid of them!
I can’t wait for Spring to be here to continue this AMAZING story with these AMAZING characters.
Watch out everyone because there are new boys taking over every book boyfriend out there!
I absolutely loved the way this book played out. Raven “Rae Rae” is the poor kid in the group home sent to a school full of privileged kids, run by the Bradshaw Boys, Maddox, Royce and Captain. Rae immediately gets on the wrong side of the boys and refuses to back down. What Rae doesn’t get, and neither do the boys, by refusing to back down, and by living by her own code, she shows the 3 something they’ve never seen before.
Rae and Maddoc’s relationship is also great to watch unfold, he really doesn’t know what hit him when it comes to her. And the relationships she develops with Cap and Royce are great.
The ending had me ready to toss my iPad, so now I can’t wait for the next book, to see what happens next.
Wowsa – what a way to start 2019!!! Definite 5 star read for me.
This book was EVERYTHING Angsty YA should be. It’s definitely not a sweet YA story. Nope. It’s a delicious, messed up, rip you apart kind of YA read.
Raven is the type of female character I love. Tough. Genuine. Feisty AF. She’s also seriously damaged and complex – the author did a great job on Raven’s backstory – I believed who she was and connected to her in a big way. I felt VERY protective of her by the end of the book and I might have threatened Meagan a little about some things I’m going to need from her in book two. Dammit.
The Boys – well the boys are PERFECTION! Talk about a tasty trio – these 3 are what book bullies are all about. These boys show that family is not always blood & not everything is as it seems. So much still to be revealed – this author likes to leave you hanging and always writes the very best cliff hangers that leave me screaming Noooooooo!!!
Definitely recommend this one.
