Distance sure as hell made his heart grow fonder… But it shattered hers into a million pieces.Langley Vaughn knows she’s never going to make the same mistake again.Who falls head over heels in love in a week? Langley did, and she’s regretted it every day since she handed her heart to a boy with too many secrets and too much baggage. Iker doesn’t fit into Langley’s world, and he made it clear he … world, and he made it clear he doesn’t want to. He left before she even got a chance to try and change his mind or to prove to him how good they could be together. Langley’s spent the last nine months healing her heart and making big plans for the future. Plans that absolutely don’t include Iker… even though he’s back, looking better than ever, and saying all the right things.
Iker Alvarez knows he made the biggest mistake of his life.
At first, the pretty blonde in the red dress was nothing more than a means to an end. But, she quickly became so much more. As soon as Iker walked away from Langley, claiming it was for her own good, he knew he screwed up. He left her so she wouldn’t worry about him when he deployed, so she wouldn’t waste her time waiting around for a guy who was never going to be good enough for her. Only, nine months and a deployment later, Iker still can’t get Langley out of his head… and he totally underestimated the hold she has on his hardened heart. He’s a guy who’s not sure how love should work, or how to go about winning his girl back…he’s about to get a crash course in both.

In Luv Duet Review:
I absolutely loved reading the In Luv Duet by Jay Crownover & Rebecca Yarros. Both books are quick reads you will devour. Langley needs a date for the wedding from hell. Langley is really likable. She is strong, beautiful and determined. When she meets Iker, he is willing to help her. He is caring and devoted and is willing to help Langley, as he needs the money. But what happens when they share more than either expected when they come from very different worlds?
In the first book, we see how Iker and Langley meet and what happens between them. Their attraction is undeniable and steamy. Then we see what happens after those events in the second book. Can they find their way back to each other? I loved Langley and Iker and seeing their journey unfold.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
It’s a Jay book how can you not love it.
“The number-one lesson I learned from watching you, is that doing the right thing isn’t always easy. Most of the time, doing the right thing hurts worse than the consequences from doing the wrong thing.“
Great ending of this two part series. These books have captured my attention for the past two days.
Girl in Luv & Boy in Luv by Jay Crownover and Rebecca Yarros a truly magical pair of stories. I have chosen to review these as a duet together as I read them one after the other and just simply adored them the ebb and flow of the story just competed me, as soppy and stupid as that sounds, I have had these on my TBR pile for ages, and I am kicking myself so hard that I didn’t sink my teeth in sooner. Langley Vaughn what a woman, I would gladly fall in love with you myself, she doesn’t let the money and privilege that she comes from to define her and spoil her, the we meet Iker Alvarez and my heart just grew even bigger. These could have easily been spoiled rich girl meets boy from the wrong side of the tracks and they have a relationship that is two fingers to everyone, but these are so much more than that original story. These stories go so much deeper, and have a much more compelling story, one that I can’t do justice for in only a review. This duet is one that everyone needs to read, I was a huge fan of Rebecca Yarros but hadn’t read anything by Jay Crownover but you can guarantee that it wont be that way for long, as I think I have just found another amazing author to add to y growing list.
What a truly wonderful end to this duet. Concluding their love story in this angst free addictive finale. After all the bitchiness between Langley and her step mum and sister in Girl in Luv, it was refreshing that we see bridges being skimmed over (I’d like to say mended, but that’s taking it a bit too far), we also saw the softer side of the relationship between Iker and Langley, with a large focus been on Iker’s adorable younger brother Gael helping him fight battles of the heart. Again, truly wonderful characters, wonderful writing and an addictive storyline.
The love story between Iker and Langley continues in this second book of the series. This time you have Iker fighting for his second chance with a very reluctant Langley after the conclusion of Girl in Luv. Alas this is romance so we do get a happily ever after but not before Langley makes Iker work for it. Absolutely loved these characters written by two amazing authors.
This book begins nine months after the last ended. Iker is back from deployment, realizing that time and distance did nothing to diminish his feelings for Langley. It just made him realize how badly he screwed up. Luckily, he has his brother Gael in his corner. Langley has spent the last nine months trying to piece her broken heart back together and is shocked when Iker returns asking for forgiveness and another chance. Despite her misgivings Iker wears he down with sweet gestures and she agrees to give him a second chance. However, time is their enemy again. As a couple their chemistry is still off the charts, but they have learnt from their mistakes and you see them grow as they learn to communicate and compromise through the good times and the struggles to ultimately get the HEA. This a great conclusion to the duet. Well written, easy to read, steamy, and you will get pulled into their life/struggles. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed the conclusion to Iker and Langley’s story. Loved their HEA. Real life. Live her dad and Gael too.
Book 1 ends with Iker leaving Langley because he is leaving the country for deployment with the army. Book 2 starts 9 months later when Iker returns from deployment realizing that he made the biggest mistake of his life by pushing Langley away when he left. He never once stopped thinking about her the entire time he was deployed. Langley tried to convince herself time and again that she was over him but the first time she sees him when he comes back she knows that she was never over him. She never stood a chance. Sadly just like their relationship never did.
Just when he comes back, Langley gives Xavier another chance and their relationship is put to the ultimate test. A test that I am not sure that I could have ever endured. But they did and they got the HEA. This duet were my first Jay Crownover and Rebecca Yarros books and I loved them so freaking much. The entire time I was reading this duet my heart was singing for Iker and Langley. I knew that they would make it despite their awful roadblocks. I was so sad that their story was over. I wished that I could have more. Highly recommend this duet but wish I had more.
Oh my god I thought Duet Book 1 between these two authors was awesome but this one just blew me away. Langley has grown in this book, love how far she has come. Then we have Iker and boy here is a man who has changed in so many ways. Seeing these two reunite was beautiful and not just seeing them find their way but the passion has grown. Once again Jay Crownover and Rebecca Yarros shows us that love at first sight does exist and when it comes to grab it right away never letting go. Loved this book and just wow between Iker and Langley. Loved it.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
wow when he broke her he broke her. But love can give you a second chance. But you better earn it. A man who finds love and doesn’t want to lose it for a second time has to fight to get it back and to keep it. A women who loves man but wants to fallow her dreams. But will it all crash and burr or will thye find a way to stay together. Loved this book too. Awesome job you too
So I admit it took me forever to finally read Boy In Luv but I have very good reasons. First freaking hell ladies how long did you make us wait? I inhaled Girl In Luv as soon as I put down (and recovered from) The Last Letter and I loved it so much I promptly pre ordered Justified and went on the list to get my free copy of Boy In Luv. Then I waited and waited and waited, and when it finally landed I couldn’t really remember much of the story and knew I would have to do a re-read but life got in the way and it slowly dropped down the pages on my kindle until I kinda forgot about it.
Then I was doing the release blitz for the duet and decided I would do a re-read and finally get the conclusion to the story. And as always I have to ask why the hell did I wait? Well you know other than the earlier excuses.
So we ended Girl In Luv heartbroken that Iker has walked away and left Langley devastated. And I wasn’t sure how the ladies were going to pick it up from there. They both came from such totally different worlds and were headed in vastly different directions but damn the chemistry between them was so hot. And they just complimented each other so perfectly I needed them to get a happy ever after.
I also kind of needed Camilla to get a really nasty STI from her husband and the wicked stepmother to get hit by a bad batch of botox but I don’t always get what I want. So vengance aside I really wanted to see how these two were going to find their way back to each other and mesh their lives to give me my much needed happily ever after. And to be honest with these authors I wasn’t 100% sure I wouldn’t end up without a happy ever after cause lets be honest these ladies can be mean.
I loved the addition of Iker’s brother, he was awesome and I would love him to get his own book please?!?! But mostly I just loved Iker for going after what he wanted and being man enough to admit his mistakes and work his butt off to fix them. I loved that he was prepared to put his pride on the line to make sure Langley got what she needed. These guys were such a beautiful couple and I loved everything about them and their story. Fingers crossed for future collaborations between Rebecca and Jay.
I am never one to reread books not because there not good, but because there are some many great ones left to read. Have to say I needed to read this one again. It makes so much more sense now that I’ve read Girl In Luv too. Langley and Iker were amazing together, great banter, off the charts chemistry and out of this world love. Definitely a must read duet.
When Riker gets back and goes to see Langley will he fight for her? Will he do everything he can to show her that he is the man that she thought he was?
I am so happy to see these two and watch their story unfold. I absolutely loved these two!!!
Part 2 picks up after Iker is Deployed.
9 months later he can’t get her out of his mind and Langley is trying to move forward with her life.
Loved the story and her dad and his brother are awesome characters that really add to the story. LOVED IT
You MUST read Girl in Luv before this one!
Iker’s got some serious groveling to do. It’s still up in the air whether or not Langley will or should give him a chance to do it. Bad decisions and regret follow both of them around!
It’s very hard not to spoiler the second half, but this is a fun ride following Iker as he tries to redeem himself, Langley as she continues to become the person she’s meant to be and the relationship they are supposed to have.
Highly recommend this duet!
Wow this was an great conclusion to this duet.
As this is the second part of a duet, it goes without saying you must read the first one first!
I am super happy I got the chance to dive into this one straight off after Girl in Luv after the way it ended. I wanted to see if they could find their way back to each other.
Nine months later and Langley is still nursing her broken heart after Iker left her in bed with a note. Shes moved on after graduating and starting her new job. Iker knows he made the biggest mistake of his life leaving her and needs to do whatever it takes to win her back.
I loved this duet. What began in book 1 as opposites attracting became a swoon-worthy second-chance romance in book 2. I know have the urge to read Rebecca Yarros.
