Maximum is a story of personal growth, letting go of fear and love. Neither protagonist is perfect, in fact they both of issues that hold them back. However compromise, listening to one another and wanting to be a better person results in a unique and compelling love story. Maximum and Fleur are both likeable, down-to-earth characters – even though both had a far from normal upbringing. I adored not only them but also their story.
This book doesn’t follow the usual cliche of meet, get together, break up and reconcile. Instead we see a couple work through their issues together. Observe how persistence and respect are used to form a connection and watch as they fall in love. Nothing in life is perfect but it is how we deal with those bumps in the road that can make or break a relationship. Fleur and Maximum might not get it right first time, but they do persevere and endeavour to be better.
I loved the epilogue, who knows if it will pave the way for stories in the future. It was also great to “bump into” some very old friends too.
Love this erotic read!!!
This is a great read for so many, as there are so many elements involved. Former Military, BDSM, Second Chance Romance, there is a little bit of everything, and something for everyone. Kenna is trying to gain control of her life after leaving the Military, and decides that regaining control of her sex life is the way to do that. Griffin rejected Kenna once, and regretted it almost immediately. Now that she is back, he has to try to earn her trust, and her submission.
Although there are elements of BDSM, and parts of the book take place in a BDSM club, this is pretty mild, as far as those types of books go. It focuses more on the romance element, with just a bit of BDSM thrown in.
This is an enjoyable read, and a great series starter!
This book covered every emotional aspect. Great story!
Loved this 2nd chance romance. An injury from military service and guilt and nightmares haunt Kenna. She goes to Blasphemy to get some release by serving a Dom. She finds Griffin and knows he is the only one who might be able to help her get over her demons. Loved the ending!!
A 2nd chance love story, Kenna and Griffin’s story is steamy, intriguing and touchingly heartwarming.
Definitely recommend!
For a novella, this was pretty intense. Kenna and Griffin were involved years ago and their past relationship helped to intensify their current reunion. Things between them are hot and heavy and very steamy with lots of rope play. It’s not common for me to really enjoy a book with this particular element, but everything between this hero and heroine was about healing. I found it to be incredibly beautiful.
Kenna comes home from the Marines broken in body and spirit. She lost her identity and isn’t sure what to do with herself. Besides her time in the Marines the only time she felt free and complete was her time with Master Griffen. He broke her heart and she became a Marine. Can Kenna free her mind and spirit with a new master?
This book was so emotional and made me feel like I knew Kenna and Griffen. Both were missing pieces of themselves they didn’t know how to repair. Bound to Submit was HOT! I have only read a couple of books by this author but love her style. Looking forward to reading more.
Wow, what an emotional rollercoaster!! This book has it all. From tragic loss to steamy BDSM. I loved it all, enjoyed the ride, and didn’t want it to end!!!
There is nothing I love more than watching a big, bad Dom falling in love. I devoured every page and I can’t wait to read more from Laura! Exquisitely written and packed full of devotion, fire and intensity! I enjoyed the twist that Kenna is a Marine and an amputee. This book will forever be in my heart for special reasons. A must read!
This was my first time reading anything by Laura Kaye. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Had the full enchilada of emotions running through it. I’ll definitely be reading more by this author.
I’ll admit that I don’t completely understand the BDSM lifestyle but, in this story’s context I truly appreciate the way it brings Kenna back from her sense of despair. Her vulnerability and determination to “feel good” after her Marine career ended in a horrible explosion is palpable. Her efforts lead her back to the club, Blasphemy and Master Griffin. Griffin regrets letting Kenna walk away after her declarations of love were not met in return. This second chance is full hope and promise for them both. This book is written well with compassion, care and heart. The story is so much more than kink.
Great
Kenna had walked away from Griffin 5 years earlier when he told her he wasn’t ready for a committed relationship. Then she joined the Marines and was injured and lost part of her arm and her best friend. Between the phantom pain and lack sleep, she was barely functioning. She decides to go back to the club and she sees him and he see her and they have a lot to work out.
Great characters, great storyline, great concept. What’s not to love?
Holy Crap!! That was amazing!
We got to meet Griffin earlier in Master Kyler’s book and I liked him then, but then we REALLY get to see him in Bound To Submit. He was young when he had made that one bad choice and he’s lived with that mistake until now, but now he has a second chance. My favorite part of the book is at her apartment, “It’s where you are,” he said. “That’s all that matters to me.” SWOON!
Kenna is dealing with a lot of emotions and thinks that Griffin can help her forget. Slowly, she is healing piece-by-piece, but can she give Griffin a second chance? Can she go through that heartbreak again?
I could not put it down!
What an amazing book! The haunted heroine makes your heart ache. The devastated hero makes you hope for forgiveness. The characterization in this book is fantastic!
Sexy and hot, yes. But this book is soooo much more.
