One minute I was a courier for criminals, making ends meet so I could take care of my little brother. The next, four stunningly hot Norse gods had brought me back from the dead with wings sprouting from my back and a whole set of valkyrie powers. I guess that’s just how life goes sometimes.Too bad our victory over our supernatural enemies turned out to be a farce. The divine home I thought I’d … thought I’d receive is a trap instead. A trap that’s slowly closing in on us, dredging up every painful moment from our pasts.
Can I trust these tempting godly men now that I’ve seen how many secrets they’ve kept from me? And what am I going to do if I have to face my own darkest horrors all over again?
I’d better figure that out fast. Because I’m Aria Watson, and I will not be broken.
Their Dark Valkyrie is a medium-burn reverse harem urban fantasy series. This action-packed, heart-wrenching ride gives you a kickass heroine, four irresistible gods, and Norse mythology like you’ve never seen it before.

Book 2 of this Norse mythology focused RH series I thought improved on some this and didn’t on others. I thought the idea of this memory-driven world intriguing and thought it was cool how Eva Chase framed it and ultimately how the 5 broke the hold the baddie had on them. I thought it was an interesting concept that the Gods and Aria had to face some of their toughest memories and start breaking down more barriers they had erected or change their views on what they did/what they saw others do, to get to the real reason for things, was a good way to progress the story and get some background at the same time. I will say I was hoping for more steam in this one, based on Eva’s other stories I have listened to/read but this one is still on the edge of slow and medium burn. Hod totally jumped up for me in this one. How vulnerable he was was Ari was adorable, all his darkness and the tragic backstory we learn, made me want to hug him and care for him. I thought Thor rose up as well in the 4 of them, with how gentle the war monger could be. I have already started book 3 so we get more about Baldur and Loki, so its a good balance overall of the series, with different Gods getting their own focus. I loved how strong Ari was, how she is the glue that is holding them all together.
Narration comments are the same as the last book. I think Samantha did an even better job with all her voices she had to do, especially the raven. She did a better job with this guys this time I think. No change for Aiden’s narration (duuuuude I couldn’t focus on anything else – like my chores I was supposed to be doing – when he did Hod’s narration haha sooooo good!!).
Already listening to book 3! I still recommend this series, the tension between some of the characters is tough but makes for a good story! I hope the group can overcome this before this war destroys them.
I read the whole series and absolutely loved it! The characters were well written and the story is full of adventures. I loved the unique approach Eva used in the series regarding the Norse mythology.
This series gets better and better. Aria and the guys are still looking for Odin and come close but someone close to them turns their back on them. I love seeing Aria with Thor, Loki, Baldur and Hod and when they are together it’s scorching hot. This story will definitely have you hooked from page 1, great continuation and can’t wait too see what happens in bk 3.
This started right where Claimed by the Gods ended. So many different things , important things happens in this one. Ari learns so much about her Gods pasts and also has to deal with her own horrible past. She helps her Gods see their pasts in a different way, which helps in the long run. They have to find their way out of the Asgard maze so they can find the real Allfather. So good and a must read after Claimed by the Gods. I can’t wait for Falling for Gods!
This one picks up where the first one left us on the cliff….. It continues the same amazing, emotional, sexy, thrilling and thrilling romantic adventure and keeps you on the edge of your seat…. Loved it!
Aria Watson, is caught in a trap and is fighting for the lives of those she holds the most dear….. This is crazy wild adventure that will keep you flipping pages from beginning to end and leave you craving more… Can not wait to find out what happens next.
This was epic, seriously there was so much that happened. Moving from scene to scene so quickly, learning so much about each of the characters so quickly and drastically, the revelations throughout, everyone’s dark secrets, the detail and emotion out into this book. Everything was just so amazing, Hod and his sexy dark tendrils, Loki and his false bravado and cheer, Thor and his realization of character Balder and his inner deviant. They all go through the ringer in this book and I can’t wait for book three to be released so I can find out what happens next!
I am loving this series! This second book starts just after the first finished, so no time lapse.
This book was such a “whirlwind” of a ride! Fast paced and nerve racking, this book grabbed me from the start and kept me captivated until the last page.
I love Ari and her four gods. We get a lot more backstory on the gods in this book and it really brought them to life. Not that the first book didn’t, but this book took it to a new level.
I’m looking forward to seeing what the next book brings.
I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.
The series continues to heat up in this next series installment! Getting a glimpse of all the character’s past is a nice addition to the story and I think will set things up nicely in the future. I loved book 1 and now I can’t wait for the 3rd installment!
I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.
Extremely well written story of a woman coming into her true destiny. With the God’s she has by her side, she is growing and finding her way. A few bits of steam help make the craziness better for Ari. As she is falling from one crazy situation to another due to an enemy, she is falling for her Norse God’s and honestly, who wouldn’t?! Alternating POV. Intriguing ending. Anxiously awaiting the next in the series.
