Liliana Scuderi has been in love with Romero from the moment she first saw him. After her sisters were married off for tactical reasons, she hopes she might be allowed to choose a husband for herself, but when her father promises her to a man more than twice her age that hope is crushed. No begging can make him change his mind. Romero has always ignored Lily’s flirting. Her age and status made … status made her off-limits but even someone as dutiful as him has only so much control. Wanting her when she’s supposed to marry another man could mean war between New York and the Chicago Outfit, and Romero has always put the Cosa Nostra first.
Lily suspects her sisters and Romero would risk everything for her, but is her happiness worth that much? Is love worth a war between the Cosa Nostra and the Outfit?

Lily couldn’t help her feelings for Romero. They were strong for him even after the brutality she say him do. Romero was her love she looked for him all the time when Luca and Aria came to Chicago. When spending the summer in NY she truly knew she was in love with him. Yet her father had given her to an old Captain in exchange for his near 20 yr old daughter. Lily will find love and loyalty to her sisters are more important than her sadist father.
3.5 stars
This series has a great deal to recommend it and I always enjoy this authors work. We finally get Lilliana’s and Romero’s story here and it really was a sweet one.
Lily has been in love with Romero for years what started out as puppy love a crush has gradually morphed into something much more powerful.
Romero has always seen lily as a child one he is fond of he’s aware of her interest but knows it’s impossible. Keeping lily at arms-length has always been easy until now that is as overnight she has become a woman one that Romero now longs for but knows is not for him.
Over the course of a summer, the two grow closer and Romero finally admits to Lily what he’s now feeling and though it’s forbidden he can’t help wanting her for his own. But He’s a mere soldier and Lily is the daughter of the Chicago outfit’s Consigliere.
Everything comes to a head when lily is promised in marriage to a man as old as her father.
The consequences of this union kickstarting another war between the Chicago outfit and New York Famiglia.
This was a great addition to this series I’ve always liked lily but here she was so much deeper than I realised and Romero is actually quite the protector and closet romantic.
These two had so much chemistry and I was rooting for their future happiness all the way.

I always liked Liliana from the other books and how cute and innocent she was. And being a crazy romantic, I really liked that she loved Romero for many years.
I can’t say that they are my favorite couple from the series but I really like the whole secret romance and the way they had to fight to be together.
Um…I’m only rating this as high as I am because of Romero. I thought I disliked Aria…and Gianna…but Lilliana really took me out. She. Was. Insufferable. I get that a lot of mafia heroines are naïve to the ways of the world and whatnot…but this was beyond the pail…I would not have blamed Luca or Dante or even Fabi for putting a cap in either of these two idiots. I’m going to give this series one more chance (because I’ve basically read this entire series simply to get to Growl’s book) but I’m only really hurting myself at this point. I’m angry.
Hands down this is prolly my favourite book in the Born in Blood: The Mafia Chronicles Collection series by Cora Reilly. I mean who doesn’t love a good bodyguard romance right?
This is the 4th book in the series and this is about the 3rd and the youngest girl of the Scuderi sisters. While you can still read this as a standalone there will be major spoilers for anyone who hasn’t read the previous books. So I highly recommend reading this series in order.
I must say I’m a sucker for a steamy, mafia, bodyguard romance. So from the moment I started Bound by Temptation I was hooked.
While in the previous books we saw Liliyana, the main female character, as a clueless teenage girl who had a childish crush on her sister’s bodyguard Romero, in this book Cora Reilly has done a great job by developing her character into a compassionate, caring and a very mature woman. The pain she goes through and the deep sorrow she feels because of her mothers sickness and death in the end and her fathers cruelty is almost palpable. Not to mention how the writer has portrayed her as one of the most strong willed women in the series.
The main male character in the book Romero is the most loyal solider to the NY Famiglia and while being a ruthless killer in the mafia as a made-man, he is one of the most caring and tender-hearted heroes in all of Cora’s book. (Except prolly for Adamo in Twisted Cravings) However it doesn’t make Romero any less lethal except only when he’s with Lilly which I find absolutely adorable.
This action packed, mafia, bodyguard romance had all I could ask from an author. I think I devoured this book in almost one sitting even though I’m a pretty slow reader.
Absolutely loved the chemistry of the two main characters and storyline was well paced and again this is hands down my favourite book in this series. I gave this 5/5 stars and I can’t wait for Cora’s next mafia, bodyguard romance. Which I think will be the next generation series, Dante Cavallaro’s daughter Anna and her bodyguard.
Until then hang tight!

Bound by Temptation is the fourth book of the series Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles and it’s a forbidden love story. It’s about Liliana and Romero, if you’ve read the first and third book of the series you’ll be aware that Liliana is Aria and Gianna’s sister while Romero is Aria’s bodyguard and also Luca’s most trusted man/soldier.

Lili is adorable, brave and a strong girl. Before reading her book, I thought that she was just naive since she was the youngest of her sisters but she surprised me with her strength throughout the book. She dealt with alot of hard time after her mother getting sick and her father who wanted to get rid of her just as he did with Aria and Gianna (yes a total jerk). Lili was fourteen years old when she first met Romero (during the time Luca came to visit when Aria was promised to him) and she fell in love with him ever since. I loved watching my baby Lili growing up and I also loved that she followed her heart even though she knew that the consequences would be harsh.
Romero was a soldier, and he had sworn his life for the Famiglia. He had always ignored Lili’s flirting and he viewed her as a child. After Lili grows up, she’s not the child he remembered anymore and despite his best attempts he couldn’t ignore the beautiful woman she had become. He was doing his best to stay loyal to the Famiglia and he knew his position, until Lili. Romero couldn’t resist the older Lili and both of them fall in love. Everything he fought for was about to get destroyed! Romero is as loyal as you can get but rules are meant to be broken and he would brea them in order to have Liliana. I loved how loving he was to Lili. She was everything he couldn’t have and he was everything she wanted.
“ . , .”
They had a push and pull kind of relationship. She tried coming to him and he pushed her away, even though he wished he could have her. But the temptation was too strong for both of them to resist. They were really in love and all their actions showed that.

Finally, this book was different from the other books in the series and I won’t lie it’s actually my favorite. Lili and Romero’s love story is what anyone would wish for. Giving in and falling in love with each other would cause war between the two mob families and I can’t blame Romero; I would start a war for her. This was also an emotional book but I still couldn’t stop myself from reading it. I enjoyed every single word written and I wish we could get more of them. A forbidden love story? Bound by Temptation is totally what you’re searching for and Cora will keep you on the edge.
A reading divided into tense, fun, romantic and action-packed moments. A couple in love, Romeo and Juliet style, that makes us madly cheer for them and a mother like never before was portrayed. Trapped by temptation will win your heart!
Lily always lived in a pink bubble, could do what she wanted, when she wanted and with what she wanted. But things are different now and she will suffer greatly as she notices how women are treated in this universe. She tries to live up to the “norms,” yet she finds it absurd and when she tries to go against it she is severely punished. It was painful to see the radiant Lily losing its light and ingenuity. When you see who your father really is and what he is capable of, something breaks inside her.
Romero is a 100% mafia man, doesn’t hesitate, doesn’t disobey orders, does everything his superiors say, until Lily comes into his life. He finds himself in a dead end. It’s interesting to see what his life will be like from this, especially since he can’t deny or disguise his feelings for her.
Their relationship will have many obstacles, because unlike the other books this relationship has not been arranged. They have chosen themselves and will have to face the consequences this will bring, especially since it is not only them who are in danger. That is what made me cheer for the couple, the battle they will face to be together. Moreover, their love is almost palpable, even in the smallest details.
The ending is electrifying. There is a lot of action going on and things get out of control, which greatly surprises the reader. It was a tense, surprising ending and a great hook for the next book. The tension was so great that I couldn’t stand still. I hoped that what happened would not happen, but if it were different it would go against everything that was worked out throughout the book.
Cora has a very her way of writing, has no flourishes, is not far-fetched, however it is something nice to read, that holds the reader’s attention. The subject matter in this series is interesting in itself, but she always tries to work something more in her stories, in the case of this book, besides different social classes, Lily and Romero have a considerable age difference.
Really enjoyed this. Lily and Romero…what a match. It was sos week seeing how much Lily loved Romero from a young age and her crush and being sad she couldn’t be with him and Romero realising how much she meant to him. I loathe lilys father so much. These two had such great chesmtriy and their scenes with Luca and Aria were interesting. This was mice to see them all interact. And its so sad how much they missed each together but I’m glad they are together again. I liked how Cora writes family moments. Another really good book in the
4/5
We first met Liliana and Romero in Bound by Honor.
Liliana is the youngest Scuderi sister and Romero is Luca’s solider.
Liliana met Romero at a young age and had always had a crush on him. Romero obviously doesn’t give this any attention.
When Liliana gets older she gets bolder when it comes to Romero. But Romero still can’t act on it because of who Liliana is. He knows her dad would never promised her to him because he is just a ‘solider’, and she can marry higher up.
Liliana doesn’t care about this, she doesn’t want to end up like her mother in a unhappy marriage.
Romero can’t handle the temptation for long. They give in into each other without the people around them knowing, her sisters, Luca and Matteo have no clue. Liliana knows that her sisters love her enough to start a war between Chicago and New York and even though Liliana wants to be happy she doesn’t know if a war between them is worth it.
Liliana is a angel she is the perfect mix between Aria and Gianna. She is knows what she wants but does think about the people who will be effected by it.
Romero is normally a pretty calm person but is willing to cross the line for Liliana.
Liliana and Romeo wasn’t your everything arranged marriage this book was two people fighting for each other with all the odds against them.
Doing a reread of the series after so long, and seeing I have no review for this book pains me so here we go:
Easily my favorite of the series! Pretty sure this reread was just to get to these two. While Luca and Aria are the ultimate mafia couple, Romero and Lily are the couple we needed in this series. Age gap, forbidden romance…. I loved Romero’s struggle in this one. His struggle to do right but wanting who he wants is hard. I love the development in their story, but only wished for a longer book. It went too quick! I can’t wait for more of these two in the anthology. I think a child would do well for them. They’re definitely the type, and I want to see Romero’s protectiveness over a little child.
Lila and Romero are a doomed love affair. She has been crushing on him since she was barely a teen, and he always saw her as a little girl, until he didn’t. Still, he was a soldier and she was nearly mafia royalty. Having both of these characters give in to their passion, I loved that they loved each other more than the confines of the rules. I loved that they both were always willing to put everything on the line for each other. I loved that above all else, their love was deep enough and strong enough to endure all that was thrown at them, and they still came out the other side, together
The narrator for Liliana wasn’t what I expected. She did a good job, but her voice was too old, too deep, and didn’t have the girlish, impish, tonal quality I expected for Liliana. It took me out of the story a few times. Once everything imploded in the last few chapters, the voice matched, but for the majority of the story, it impacted my enjoyment. The narrator for Romero, he was PERFECT!
This is the fourth book in the Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles, a suspenseful Mafia Romance. I love this Series. Liliana and Romero’s forbidden story is suspenseful! Liliana is such a beautiful, innocent, but strong character. Romero is handsome and caring. I love the family bound in this Series. The storyline is captivating. I loved it! Tim Paige and Virginia Rose did an amazing job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, Bound by Vengeance.
Bound by Temptation by Cora Reilly is a mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Tim Paige and Virginia Rose. This is the forth book in the Born In Blood Mafia Chronicles.
I absolutely love this series! Each book just keeps getting better and better. Cora does an amazing job pulling me in from the very first chapter. I was so happy to finally get Liliana and Romero’s story. Liliana deserved her happily ever after. I can’t wait for the next book in the series Bound By Vengeance to be released on audio so I can get Growl and Cara’s story.
Tim and Virginia did a great job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life.
Bound by Temptation
Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles, Book 4
By: Cora Reilly
Narrated by: Tim Paige, Virginia Rose
The Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles has quickly become a favorite series of mine and I am so excited to get to hear Liliana’s story. The youngest of the Scudieri sisters, we have had glimpses of her growing up. Now having the chance to be in New York with her sisters, she is finding it hard to fight her attraction to Romero, Luca’s number one soldier. Romero remembers LIly, but not as the beautiful woman she has grown into. Their forbidden romance blossoms, hidden from everyone until she is called home. Now back in Chicago with her father, things are going to get messy! Will Romero come and fight for his woman? Will she be able to marry for love? This is and exciting story! It has all the elements of a mafia romance that I love. It’s action packed, has ruthless situations, undying passion, loyal friends and unbreakable love. Lily and Romero are the first couple in the series that have feelings without an arrangement, which in this world is refreshing. Lily also proves to be quite a storing woman, even though the baby of the sisters. While I love Lily and Romero, I especially love the inclusion of all the sisters and their husbands, and a good look at youngest! It ties everyone together and leaves us ready for the next installment, Bound by Vengeance. I can’t wait!
Narrated by Tim Paige and Virginia Rose we are treated to a stellar performance. These two seasoned professionals fall into character and let us experience all the feelings and suspense of the story. Cast perfectly, they bring the story to life in a way that stays with you after it’s all over. Loved this team!

This forbidden love story has me captive since Bound by Honor, I knew it was going to be something extremely amazing.
So many tears…
It’s 4:00 AM. I’m tired. My eyes are puffy from crying – this one made me cry alot. I liked Lilly and Romero and I liked checking in with the previous characters. Editing was a little better than the previous book. I’m still struggling with the endings. This seems to be the formula: book starts with a prologue that’s not really a prologue – just a snippet from a scene later in the book, drama, angst, drama, hero (or heroine) does something to save the day, everybody is happy, ending. I’m going to skip the next book for now and read Luca and Aria’s book. I might go back to the next book but I don’t know who those character are and it feels like Dante and Valentina’s book. No rhyme or reason or purpose.
5 stars for Romero and Lily! I absolutely loved this forbidden romance book. Cora Reilly definitely knows how to deliver an angsty book.
This is Liliana and Romero’s story, a couple who shouldn’t be together, but can’t help but defy the rules if it means they get to be with each other.
Liliana is not a little kid any more. During her early teenage years she had an innocent crush on Aria’s bodyguard Romero, but as the years went by, she fell more and more in love. It might have been unrequited at first, but soon enough Romero can’t help but feel lust for this woman who constantly drives him out of his mind.
As soon as Lily notices Romero’s fiery glances, nothing holds her back. She wants him and no force on earth can stop her from having him. And Romero feels exactly the same way.
But as they will find out sooner or later, they can’t leave in this bubble forever. They’re up for an unpleasant surprise.
This story kept my interest. This story is about Romero and Lilly. Romero,is a trusted solder, a brother, not by blood but by trust. Lily had crushed on Romero since he first was her bodyguard. I was a bit frustrated at the first half when Romero and Lilly were constantly putting themselves in danger. I wanted to get to the meat of the story and find out what the rest of the family was going to do to help them or would they kill them? For me, the first half read a bit too slow for a mafia romance . There’s wasn’t enough going on, some added scares etc would have been nice but it was still a decent read, not as good as Luca and Aria though.
This book seriously has me super anxious for the rest of the series. I loved Lily and Romero and am so glad they got their Happy.
