Good Lord!!! Bound by Love was exactly what we all wanted – Luca’s perspective in all the stories in the series. This book was absolutely phenomenal. Luca and Aria are #mafialovegoals and this story was EVERYTHING and more!!
I truly loved this story. It was so wonderful being back in this world and filled to the brim with everything I wanted from Luca in the previous books. It was emotional, sexy and so compelling. I absolutely could not stop reading. We were brought back to the beginning and saw all the familiar faces that we seriously can not get enough of but then we saw new faces that I can’t wait to read about.
I truly loved getting these stories in Luca’s perspective and then some. Cora Reilly proved once again that her brilliant writing ability is only surpassed by the absolute amazing stories she pens. I loved this book so hard and seriously can’t wait for more!! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula
Luca had many things on his plate
The hardest was keeping Aria in check. She was forever doing things to put her in jeopardy. Luca was dealing with his family and loyalties within. He had to kill three of them. Then he had to deal with Metteo and Gianna. Then Danta and the Outfit. Then again Gianna and Lily. Not mention Metteo. Then a war broke out and Aria goes back to Chicago. Luca couldn’t go for this and walked away from her. Will he see the error of all this? Will his love for Aria override his hurt? Can Aria finally not put her siblings first and help to protect her new family?
Love my not be a weakness when it’s real love.
Gosh I love Aria & Luca. This story had you hooked from the beginning. I also like how well it flowed together with all the stories coming together. The passion between Ari and Luca had me swooning until the very end. I hope there is more to come because I was so sad to see it end. Great Read!
OMG! This book is the best one yet! It was a wild ride that had me feeling many emotions. The one thing I loved was the writing from dual perspectives. We get to read what Aria and Luca are thinking and feeling. It is a mob story that feels realistic as you read. It also explains a little more of the previous books because it is written from both persepectives. Great twists and an unexpected gift! I would definitely recommend this book and also all the others in the series!
Luca and Aria’s marriage began as an agreement that would bring peace between two mafia families. But Aria wanted her husband’s love and did everything in her power to make him love her. Luca is not only Aria’s husband but also the Capo, so his word is law and she must obey him. Her desire to protect her sisters and her brother could be considered as the worst betrayal. Luca has never trusted or loved anyone and thought love was a weakness, until he met Aria. Will he understand Aria’s motives, or will he see her actions as proof that he was right to never give his heart and his loyalty to any man or woman? Will their love survive at a time when their enemies prepare to strike? I couldn’t wait to read this book and was not disappointed, it was all I expected and more! Luca and Aria have expressed their feelings for each other and can’t deny their deep love and attraction! But their relationship is fragile and Aria’s feelings about her family could endanger her life and her marriage. Will Luca forgive her? In Bound by Love we experience the passion of Luca and Aria’s marriage and we also learn about the other beloved couples from the previous books in the series! An amazing book, I can’t wait to read the next book from this author!
Aria and Luca. I always love this couple. And I’m really happy we could read more about them. Their love is deep and profound. Luca is still so possessive. I love reading about his love for his Wife. I also love that we could catch up with other beloved characters.
The only thing I didn’t like about Bound by Honor was that it had to end! SO, I was so happy to have more of Aria and Luca’s story.
This book also has dual POV’s, unlike our first, so we get to see the feelings and actions of both characters. There is a lot here- we have some insight into what happened right after BBH, we get A LOT more into how Luca and Aria fared her secret keeping when it came to her trying to help her siblings, we get more how the sisters try to stay in touch with Fabiana, we see Luca and Aria’s marriage evolve and face challenges, and we see if it can survive a heartbreaking ultimate test.
Overall, we span several years here (and my only complain is really at times I’m not sure how many years have passed between certain chapters/mini-stories within) we get a window into some of our other beloved characters (especially Gianna and Matteo), and we lay the groundwork for the epic Camorra stories starting with Fabiano’s tale (BRILLIANT CORA, BRILLIANT!)!!
We have the same steamy chemistry between our beloved Aria and Luca- we see Luca soften, we see Aria get stronger, and we also see how their connection evolves into a true partnership grounded in deep love, respect, trust, and devotion. And, like their last book, we explore deeper Luca’s intense need for trust, Aria’s tension between giving her all to Luca and protecting her family, and the repercussions of half-truths and miscommunication.
I would read about Luca and Aria all day long if I could, and I only wish I could give this 10 stars. Thank you, Cora, for continuing their story, evolving their relationship so beautifully, and creating a meaningful and beautiful bridge between two worlds as you start the spin-off series. I can’t wait for it!
Bound by love is a book that gave me great happiness knowing that it would be published and I was not disappointed at all when reading it. In enjoyment, the different emotions between laughing and crying enchanted me.We can read small parts of Hatred and Temtation events from the point of view of Aria and Lucas showing how the events in these books brought them together and strengthened their relationship as a couple. Then showing how their relationship has flourished in a mature way and that regardless of the events Luca and Aria love each other and demonstrate their love for each other with devotion
Aria and Luca will always have a place among my favorites. Reading this book was something exciting and highly anticipated. Glancing at the future of books in this mafia world. Cora Reilly created a great story filling spaces from previous events in this book in a great way without boring.
Recommended without a doubt they will enjoy it.
I’m not quite sure where to start with this book, but I once again fell in love with Aria and Luca. Having first read Bound by Honor in early 2015, I had a strong attachment to these two characters as they introduced me to a whole other world. Bound by Love brought their story to a full circle, we go from their engagement and follow their lives over a 15 year journey where Aria is happily married with two kids. Their world has been full of pain but also love, which is all-consuming, we see the level of love and respect Matteo and Luca have for each other, their love for their family and wives doesn’t weaken them but acts as their strength. It is very easy to become attached to these characters as they are very raw and real, you easily connect to them as you grow to love them because their brutality is only reserved for those who wish to harm their family.
I don’t know how Cora does it, but she draws you in to this amazing world and on an incredible journey which will make you laugh and cry throughout the book. A very talented author and phenomenal writer.
I was actually pretty scared about another story of Luca and Aria. But as I love Cora’s style of writing and I developed as a reader with her developing as an author, I can’t resist her books.
It is definitely the best book from the whole series. It truly was everything. The aspect that some of you will probably not like is that the main half of the plot is a repeated story of three previous books but from their point of view. That’s the only disadvantage of the book.
And then advantages? Lemme start with the very basics. The author’s writing skills are much improved. Female characters are much more likeable. Truly, I have even had my moment of respect towards Gianna and this is something huge, because I usually can’t stand her.
Then, the male characters? As usual, amazing.
And plot? Well, the very first half wasn’t that surprising as it was basically the sum-up of Gianna’s, Lily’s and Cara’s stories, but the second half? God. Give, me, some, air. I had like three heart attacks. The plot kept me on my toes to the very last page. Especially on last pages.
Things that happen… you are not ready for that, I swear. In the last few chapters there is no end of action and place for reflection on the whole book… no, no, no, not in this one, you guys. In the last few chapters there was so much action that I was truly… shocked. Those heart attacks, you remember?
You are in the lucky place, because the next book is already published, so you won’t have to wait. I had to. And it was the most horrible time for me, because it’s strictly connected to Fabiano and his book (Twisted Loyalties) and he is my baby. Waiting for his book nearly killed me.
Bound by Love will leave you insatiable, ladies, so you can buy Twisted Loyalties already.
I finished this book in one sitting, that’s how excited I was to immerse myself in everything Aria and Luca related.
First things first, thank you Cora for coming out of the dark and releasing both Twisted Loyalties and Bound by Love this year when we had nothing but radio silence from you for years. I can honestly say I did not expect for this book to be released after so long.
I rate this book a SOLID 5 stars not only because this is my favourite couple, but because of how it was written. In this book we FINALLY get to see Luca’s perspective and understand what’s going on in that brutish head of his. I won’t lie, this book had me heartbroken, angry, disgusted and happy all in one – it’s definitely an emotional journey but an amazing one nevertheless.
The novel follows Aria and Luca shortly after Bound by Honour finishes up past the storyline of Twisted Loyalties. It recounts all the big moments from the other novels while still having its own plot and storyline that no one would have thought of. There are also a few new faces we get to meet and a couple surprises thrown in to keep everyone off their toes. It’s definitely not what I originally envisioned it to be yet everything I hoped it would be.
Though the book was quite long for a Reilly novel, something she’s said multiple times in the months leading up to this release, it never felt like it was TOO long.
If you’re as much a fan of Mafia romance novels as I am, you’ll absolutely adore Bound by Love. It was well written and immensely heart-jerking while still having humour and steamy scenes all-in-one.
Finish the sixth book in the series and love Luca the most I can’t wait to read the spinoff that this series has, now with the Las Vegas mafia, it was just incredible, exciting and I loved Luca too much (hate a bit Luca and a lot to Aria), Luca is a bad, rude, crude, cruel, vengeful character but with Aria it is just a sweetness a wonderful, sweet, tender and affectionate being just loves him, God what a way to close the series and leave the doors open for the next series (Fabiano, Nino and Remo I go for you because I will surely hate and love you as my dear Dante, Matteo, Romero, Grow and obviously my love Luca). Of this book I will only say that Cora’s way of writing was wonderful, it is fabulous and definitely evolved more with each book, in this one it is narrated by the 2 characters and in two chapters by Matteo (Brother of Luca) that makes it more entertaining and Agile, it allows us to know everything and understand them better, the series is definitely highly recommended and I really hope that a publisher turns to see it and translate the books because they are incredible stories that need to reach more languages. This book for me is the best in the series and definitely declared me a fan of Cora and Luca Vitiello.
This book is perfection. It has the right dose of angst, action, love, sex, darkness, thrill and tenderness.
What I loved the most is how well written are all the characters and their interaction. Of course the main couple, Luc and Aria are addictive, but also Matteo, Giana, Lily, Romero,… everyone is extremely well defined and very in character. Not sure if this make sense but they are all perfectly portrayed and you can picture them acting the way they do.
I really like to have Aria and Luca’s POV, I missed Luca’s thoughts in their first book but here we have them both and make their story more interesting and complete.
Bound by Love was a roller coaster of emotions.
”In the darkest hour, you are my light.”
“I’ll go where you go no matter how dark the path.”
I felt so dizzy riding this roller coaster with Luca and Aria, but t was definitely refreshing to read the book through Luca’s POV as well as Aria’s. Aria was absolutely impulsive when it came to all of her siblings. She was very stubborn and she risked everything for the people she loves. It may seem annoying since it happened many times, but I understand her strength and her way of thinking. I absolutely loved getting a look at Luca’s POV. As a twisted and complicated character, it showed his way of thinking.
“Maybe I hadn’t made a blood oath, but what bound me to him was stronger than any oath. I was bound by love.”
This book was filled with passion, danger, and love. I have how real their relationship was seeing as their circumstances is different from normal relationships. This was a good second book for this couple and it is definitely one of my favorites! I could only hope and wish for more Luca and Aria! Cora Reilly, you are amazing! Continue to shoot for the stars!
I had no idea this book was coming out. I stumbled across it while looking for something to read over the holidays. This book picks up where Bound by Honor leaves off and follows Luca and Aria over an 11-year period. The neat thing is that it hits all the highlights of Cora Reilly’s other books in the series from Aria and Luca’s perspective (Giannia’s escape, Lily’s disasterous wedding, the reunion with Fabi). I thought Cora did a great job of getting back into character with Luca and Aria and giving us more on their lives. I loved it!
Since reading Bound By Honor and falling in love with Cora Reilly’s words, I was praying and hoping that one day she will give us more of Aria and Luca, who are my most favorite couple written by her. Luckily, my wish was granted and Cora gave us a full length novel instead of only a novella about them. I loved how she wrapped up their story. Starting with their past, Cora granted us a little more insight into their life as newly weds, moving on the the present as a married couple and rounding the book up with a heart-warming epilogue. I loved how easy it was to reconnect with these two. I was instantly attached to them and their story, hoping that their love can conquer all obstacles coming their way. And let me tell you that it wasn’t an easy ride. There was a major issue between them they had to fix, that made me my heart bleed and my eyes hurt from crying so much! After all, nobody deserved happiness more than these two.
When Aria was given to Luca in marriage in order to secure the peace between the Chicago Outfit and the New York Famiglia, people were sure he’d break her. Aria feared the worst from a man like him. A giant brute without mercy. But somehow she managed to get under his skin and ultimately win his heart. Love is a weakness a man like Luca can’t afford. But loving Aria is the purest thing he has ever done. She is the only light in the darkness that surounds him.
When Aria betrays Luca by going behind his back for her family, she realizes too late that she might have lost what she’s fought so hard to get in the first place: Luca’s trust. The trust of a man who never allowed himself to trust someone unconditionally before. Can Luca forgive her? And most of all, can their love survive in a brutal world of betrayal and death?
I can’t emphasize enough how much I love these two. They couldn’t be more different, but made so much sense together. As Capo of the New York Famiglia Luca Vitiello is known for his dark, violent and brutal side. His enemies fear him and his soldiers respect him. But there is also another side of him. A protective, loving and possessive one that only Aria evokes in him. Being raised by a brutal father, he and his brother Matteo were taught from a young age that love is a weakness that had no place in their lives. But luckily gentle, sweet and compassionate Aria will show Luca that he is more than just a man capable of killing. Being born and raised in the Chicago Outfit, she knows that noone is innocent in their world. This is why she stands by her man, no matter what.
Beside getting more of Aria and Luca in this book, we meet some of our beloved characters from the former books like Gianna and Matteo, Lily and Romero and even Fabiano again! This made my heart almost burst from happiness. I missed them all so much!
I encourage everyone to read Bound By Love no matter if you’re a fan of Cora’s Born in Blood series or somebody new to her work. Let Cora’s amazing writing take you on an unforgettable journey to the Mafia world. A world full of violence, where there is no place for love and only the toughest survive. I’m putting this gem on my favorites shelf and giving it 5 well deserved stars!
When Cora Reilly announced that there is going to be another book about my favorite couple in the Born in Blood series – Aria and Luca Vitiello – I was absolutely thrilled to read it. This story is told from multiple POVs but mainly by Aria and Luca. The major part of this great installment is concentrating on important happenings from the past which are now either shown from another perspective or told for the very first time. I found that to be very valuable in order to understand the characters and their complex dynamics as well as how the events from the previous books are intertwined. We also get to see the present and where Aria and Luca as well as Gianna and Matteo and Lilly and Romero are standing which was something I was desperately hoping for. This book had all the ingredients I’m looking for in a good Mafia book: swoon-worthy romance, gut-wrenching angst and breathtaking suspense.
I fell madly and irrevocably for Aria and Luca in Bound by Honor. Now after reading Bound by Love I’m even more besotted with them. They are the perfect example that opposites do attract and that an arranged marriage can turn into a loving, trusting and committed relationship. I admire Aria for her kind and compassionate heart and for always helping the people she cares about. She grew up as the oldest daughter of a merciless and despotic father who is the Consigliere of the Chicago Outfit. She was forced to marry Luca – the dangerous and cruel son of the New York Famiglia’s Capo. His bad reputation preceded him. Aria was terrified of Luca. But with time she learned that her husband also has a soft and caring side that he only ever shows to her. Luca adores his beautiful and fiercely loyal wife. He is very protective and possessive when it comes to staking his claim. Aria is his weakness – something a Capo shouldn’t allow himself since it makes him vulnerable towards his enemies.
What I love about Cora’s world building is that she shows the undisguised brutality of Mob life and its often barbaric and outdated traditions. There is no black or white when it comes to her stories but many shades in between. Her heroes are men who have done many despicable things. But you simply can’t hate them since deep down under their hard masks they have a soft spot for the women who own their hearts and souls.
This was another page turner in this addictive series and I truly look forward to read more about my beloved characters. I’m very excited to find out which couple is next. I’m sure that Cora has a few more aces up her sleeve for her fans. I’ve devoured Bound by Love and highly recommend it to all fans of this genre! 5 well deserved stars!

**ARC provided for my Honest Review**
All you Luca and Aria lovers out there, you are in for an EXPLOSIVE TREAT!!
I devoured this full length novel in one sitting… Hell NO I wasn’t moving for anyone… I was Hooked, I am Hooked… Oh Boy you are all in for a treat.. You have NO idea, what’s coming.. I’m rambling yes I know, but I won’t give anything away, I promise..
This Dark Romance was very well written, and I know all you Cora fans will be extremely happy!! My dark little heart was giddy with satisfaction..
Oh where to start with this book? I thought I was getting a check, an alternate point of view, to a story I already knew. That was what it started out as, but it became so much more, so big, and seperate, and unique, and heart-wrenching all on it’s own! This is a mafia story, these men and women hold no illusions about their world, and who they are in it. It is dark, gritty, and violent, but they are people who love each other, and that needs to find a place in their world as well
If you have read the previous books, any or all of them, you get to see what was going on with Luca and Aria while Matteo, Gianna, Romero, and Lily, have their stories unfold. A little of Cora and Growl and a smidge of Dante and Val, but their stories didn’t play out in New York, so understandable. We also get a wee bit of Fabi to what your appetite.
If you haven’t read any of the other books, you are still in for a wildly emotional ride, because this is complete and stands all by itself. It has enough context that new readers won’t be lost, and experienced readers won’t be bored.
This started out, and I was okay, yeah I know that, interesting, and I was liking it and enjoying the differing viewpoints. And then, a little past about a third of the way in, it hit me, the things we didn’t already know. The stage was familiar, but this story, these experiences were new. I was completely drawn in, enthralled, and couldn’t stop reading. Then it hit, the tears started flowing while my heart twisted, my emotions ricocheted, and the pain of the situation settled over me. Then I really couldn’t stop, I needed to know how they overcame this, what the future held, and, goddess please, stop the hurting. Of course, after putting me through the wringer, and then some, they do.
Then we see the strength that is Luca and Aria, that them together, are so much stronger then the individual. Their love and devotion know no bounds, and we get to witness the forging of the steel that binds them. Aria will always follow Luca into the dark, and be his light to find his way – perfection!
