New York Times Bestselling author Samantha Young writing as S. Young.Niamh Farren has been burdened by knowledge for most of her life. As one of seven fae children born into the human world with the ability to open the gate to Faerie, Niamh’s mission is to guide her fae brethren to do what’s right. Because Niamh has seen what will happen to the human world if she does not protect the gate. … gate. Throughout the years, she’s traveled the world with her brother Ronan, using her psychic visions to find the fae-borne and convince them to stay on the path that will keep the gate from opening. She has sacrificed much … but when she loses her brother to the mission, Niamh begins to lose herself.
For nearly one hundred and fifty years, werewolf Kiyo has wandered the planet as a lost soul. Cursed with immortality, he spends his awful eternity as a mercenary for hire. When the powerful Fionn Mór confides the truth about the existence of Faerie and hires Kiyo to protect one of the fae-borne, he accepts the challenge out of boredom, not heroism. Yet Niamh is unexpected in every way the werewolf can possibly imagine.
Guarding Niamh from her enemies is nowhere near as challenging as protecting the fae woman from herself. If Kiyo is to succeed, he must help Niamh find herself again, and not just for her sake. Ignoring the fierce connection between them may no longer be an option. A new enemy is rising and threatening to rip open the gate between worlds. To remind Niamh of who she really is, Kiyo must make the choice to lower his defenses and give into their bond. Or safeguard his own heart … and in doing so lead the human world to the brink of war.

Niamh and Kiyo’s story was a wonderful addition to the True Immortality series. Kiyo was a broody, grumpy immortal and I enjoyed who he and Niamh each learned about the other’s powers. They are truly what you’d call a power couple. I high suggest reading this book but if you haven’t read the series yet, pick up War of Hearts first!
Niamh Farren is one of seven fae children and she has an ability that the others do not. She has knowledge: of the past and things yet to come. Her visions give her the ability to see things so that she can help the others. Her human brother often helped her on these missions. Sadly, he was killed during one and now Niamh is lost.
Kiyo is an immortal wolf who has traveled in solitude for the past 150 years. Generally he acts as a mercenary for hire, only this time he is hired to protect Niamh; not only from her enemies but to help her find her way.
They definitely start off at odds with each other. But as each new vision brings them somewhere else, pieces of their internal walls crumble down. You can only deny the attraction and longing for so long…
I enjoyed this paranormal story. It was original and I would recommend it to others. Happy reading!
I love paranormal romance and Samantha Youngs writing. I still can’t believe I get now both. Her world building is fantastic. In this book we meet Kiyo and Niamh. Their story is full of some unexpected twists, danger and of course romance. I loved the slow development of their love story. Their chemistry was awesome but it still took some time until they accepted their feelings. This story turned out more emotional than I thought. Kiyo is used to being alone, so understandable it takes time for him to open up. It’s definitely an emotional and dramatic journey with lots of ups and downs as they figure it all out, but I loved to follow their way to happiness.
Another highlight is the setting because the reader get a variety of Europe, Japan, Scotland and Scandinavia. Kiyo and Niamh’s path leads throughout the world and it was great to see some familiar spots. It was a great read with an even more intriguing ending. I can’t wait for Elijah’s book to be available. We also got some glimpses of the previous couples which I loved.
I am so glad that Samantha started writing PNR because her world is intriguing and offers so many possibilities. She definitely came up with a great story and I am excited for the next read.
The best thing to come out of 2020!
I first discovered Samantha Young years ago when she wrote the Warriors of the Ankh paranormal series, so I was delighted when she returned to this genre with the True Immortality series of which this is book three.
I loved the first two books in the series so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Bound by Forever, especially when book two introduced Kiyo and Niamh, the main characters in this book. I was excited to see how their story played out and Samantha definitely didn’t disappoint!
Both Kiyo and Niamh are strong, multi-faceted characters and I enjoyed watching them slowly warm to each other and I was rooting for them as their slow burn relationship played out.
Kiyo was the perfect hero; an irresistible mix of brooding, handsome with a caring core and I loved Niamh’s feistiness and independence.
A large part of the book is based in Japan (one of my bucket list holiday destinations) and I loved the insight in to the culture and sights as seen through the eyes of tourist Niamh.
The plot was fast paced, and full of twists and turns that kept me reading into the wee hours of the morning. Samantha is always great at world building and gives great visual descriptions so I felt really immersed in Kiyo and Niamh’s world.
The book finished on a climatic build for the next book and I can’t even guess at how it will play out, but I’m intrigued to learn more about the new protagonist couple. My only complaint about this book is that I have to wait until August 2021 for book 4!
Gods, do I love a good Fae book. And this one blew me away.
Now, I have to add that I’ve only read this book from the True Immortality Series. I will get back to the first two though, because this was bloody amazing (and I fancy the characters from previous books)!
So, Bound by Forever felt like a slow burn romance (and do I love those!). I’m all about the story, the plot – and executing it, characters with a depth, and tension, lust, love. Bound by Forever gave me all of that and more.
I already had it bad from the first chapter on, when Niamh went to the club, and Kiyo found her so easily and had basicaly kidnaped her. I was so engrossed with the MC’s, her powers and him in his shifter form, anything and everything that followed was just an added magical bonus.
Amazing worldbuilding and spectacular twist!
Bound By Forever is book 3 in S Young’s A True Immortality series and starts right where book 2 left off. This is Niamh and Kiyo’s story and what an incredible story it is. If you love different types of supernaturals, fated mates, and an intricately woven plot…then look no further. 5 for this incredible series! Can’t wait for the final book!
More action and adventure from the supernatural team that is True Immortality, featuring the immortal Fae and and their true mates. Book 3 sees Niamh Farren finally meeting her true love. Too bad Japanese American werewolf Kiyonari ‘Kiyo’ Fujiwara is not on the market for romance or love, in fact he thinks the true mate bond would shatter his freedom, and under no circumstances will he ever be “mate-whipped”. No way, no how. It would appear though that he underestimated the strength of the true mate bond, and he’s going to learn the hard way, because Niamoh Farren is nobody’s fool, and she’s not going to take orders from anybody, especially some overgrown dog. The fact that Kiyo is charged with protecting Niamh is not something that either of them want, but Kiyo is getting paid a lot of money to keep her alive, so he’s going to stick to her like glue, even if she dies push all his buttons. A great series that I’m really enjoying, I’m loving the characters, their abilities, and their back stories, along with all the action fuelled by the bad guys (they always seem to be a step ahead – how do they do that?). It all makes for an addictive, action packed romance. Kiyo and Niamh gave me all the feels with their supercharged chemistry. Off the charts, slow burn romance at its best. Another winner from S Young. Oh, and I absolutely loved reading all the Japanese translations into English. The little sayings and their literal meanings. What a wonderful language.
I really can’t get enough of this series. Whilst I’m sure that book this can be enjoyed and read as a standalone, full understanding of all the characters and myths will be gained by reading the previous 2 books in the series. S Young has also written a novella linking book 2 with book 3 (Kiss of Eternity) which is available to read free on her website https://authorsamanthayoung.com/books/kiss-of-eternity-a-true-immortality-short-story/
I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
I’ve just finished ‘Bound by Forever’ and I knew that I was going to liked it like the previous books in the True Immortality series and yes, I loved it. Wonderful, delicious and emotional book.
I was eager to read this book because I enjoyed ‘War of Hearts’ and ‘Kiss of Vengeance’ so much that I wanted to read more about the characters and their story that we just had a glimpse in these books.
Niamth is on a mission following her visions and taking action on what she sees but she is drawing too much attention when using her powers and putting her life and other supernaturals in danger. Kiyo is a powerful werewolf tired of living and not bothering in enjoying life anymore. Accepting this job of protecting Niamth seems like another well paid job to him. However, Niamth and Kiyo start a journey of self-discovery of things they had been trying to suppress and find out they want more from life that just keep surviving.
Beautifully written as Samantha Young always does, this book is action packed and full magic, sexiness, emotions, dangers, fights, evil, old friends and new enemies, angst and deep feelings. Everything happening for a reason and I couldn’t put down this book until knowing that Kiyo and Niamth had the ending they deserved. Powerful, strong, gorgeous, determined, good-hearted and full of good intentions characters but also imperfect and with flaws that make them more human, dearer and approachable.
Outstanding book like the previous in this series that made me want to take a plane and visit all the incredible and beautiful places described in Japan. I already can’t wait for next book!
