New York Times Bestselling author Samantha Young writing as S. Young.Niamh Farren has been burdened by knowledge for most of her life. As one of seven fae children born into the human world with the ability to open the gate to Faerie, Niamh’s mission is to guide her fae brethren to do what’s right. Because Niamh has seen what will happen to the human world if she does not protect the gate. … gate. Throughout the years, she’s traveled the world with her brother Ronan, using her psychic visions to find the fae-borne and convince them to stay on the path that will keep the gate from opening. She has sacrificed much … but when she loses her brother to the mission, Niamh begins to lose herself.
For nearly one hundred and fifty years, werewolf Kiyo has wandered the planet as a lost soul. Cursed with immortality, he spends his awful eternity as a mercenary for hire. When the powerful Fionn Mór confides the truth about the existence of Faerie and hires Kiyo to protect one of the fae-borne, he accepts the challenge out of boredom, not heroism. Yet Niamh is unexpected in every way the werewolf can possibly imagine.
Guarding Niamh from her enemies is nowhere near as challenging as protecting the fae woman from herself. If Kiyo is to succeed, he must help Niamh find herself again, and not just for her sake. Ignoring the fierce connection between them may no longer be an option. A new enemy is rising and threatening to rip open the gate between worlds. To remind Niamh of who she really is, Kiyo must make the choice to lower his defenses and give into their bond. Or safeguard his own heart … and in doing so lead the human world to the brink of war.

I was really looking forward to Kiyo’s story. Although I found the book to be slow, I did enjoy it. I loved learning about Kiyo. Niamh was an intriguing character. I can’t wait to see how the series concludes.
Wow! This series is just amazing and keeps building and building. I love Niamh and Kiyo’s story. So much energy and excitement!
I love how Niamh and Kiyo meet, it sure made for an interesting start. Getting Niamh to trust Kiyo was not easy but their slow build of friendship was heartwarming. They are both lost and alone and made the perfect pair. There was a lot of emotion to this story, it’s very touching.
So much continues to happen in this series and we’re already gearing up for the next book. I can’t wait to see what S. Young has planned.
Filled with action, adventure, and wonderful characters!
Kiyo deserved his forever mate.
Someone who could match him in strength and wit.
Someone who was not afraid to follow their own path.
Someone who would always keep him on his toes
and Niamh was that someone.
This is the third book in the series and IMO to get the full experience you need to read the series in order. Yes, it can easily be read as a standalone but you will find it more than just another paranormal romance if you have the full picture. The main storyline and the cast are magical.
Kiyo has always been the stoic one. The quiet one that gets what needs doing done – No pesky emotions – No need to weigh consequences as he is firm in the knowledge his choices are made using facts (I must say this is currently not working so well for him).
Kiyo carries his skeletons close to his chest. Trust no one and betrayal never becomes an issue.
So exactly how did this little slip of a woman outsmart him?
Not once but twice?
Niamh is so much more than meets the eye. I admit I have always been curious about her full back story. We meet her in the previous books and we have front row seats when her world was shattered. She is on a mission to right the wrongs while she avoids the truth of her pain. Her heart is heavy and she feels so alone with the burden she carries.
She wants to share the truth but who can she trust?
And shouldn’t trust work both ways?
This was packed with action, angst, adventure, and a slow build romance that will warm even the coldest of hearts!
I loved that we got cameos from some of my favorite past characters and that the “fae sisters” are getting the upper hand … sort of
Another fabulous addition to the True Immortality Series
4.25 stars. This was so good! Bound by Forever was a great addition to the True Immortality series and may be my favorite so far. This is Kiyo and Niamh’s story. Kiyo is a half Japanese, immortal werewolf. Niamh is one of the 5 fae children born to human families that hold the key to opening the gates to faerie, which will destroy the human world. She has been on the run for much of her life, because there are bad people that want to use her to open the gates. We were introduced to Niamh in the previous books in the series. She helped the other couples get together. In return, Fionn has hired Kiyo to protect Niamh and keep her safe from her enemies. So begins their journey and relationship as they travel together on the run. I don’t want to say more so as not to spoil the story.
I really liked this story and I loved Kiyo and Niamh. They were an awesome couple. This book had a lot of exciting, fast paced action and a great, soulmate connection romance. It was a deliciously long book and I didn’t want it to end. It is a slow burn romance for a while, but the pace was so fast that I didn’t mind.
Overall, Bound by Forever was the best book I’ve read in a while. I very much enjoyed Kiyo and Niamh’s journey to love. I really love this series. The world building and characterization is so good and it has clever, intricate writing. I have enjoyed it so much and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
BOUND BY FOREVER is the third instalment in S. Young’s (Samantha Young) contemporary, adult TRUE IMMORTALITY paranormal romance series. This is twenty-six year old, half –Fae/half human Niamh Farren, and one-hundred and seventy five year old, Japanese werewolf Kiyonari Fujiwara (aka Kiyo’s) story line. BOUND BY FOREVER can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is a running premise throughout. Kiyo and Niamh were first introduced in book two KISS OF VENGEANCE.
NOTE: Niamh is pronounced ‘Nev’.
SOME BACKGROUND: Years earlier, Aine, the Queen of the Fae banned all supernaturals from the Land of the Fae, and in doing so prophesied the birth of seven human/Fae hybrid children who would be the keys to the portal back to the land of the Fae. In an attempt to prevent the opening of the portal, a supernatural group of vampires and werewolves formed The Garm, whose sole purpose is to hunt and kill the seven hybrid Fae. Three are dead. These are the stories of the remaining four.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Niamh and Kiyo) BOUND BY FOREVER follows twenty-six year old, half –Fae/half human Niamh Farren in her struggles with blinding and crippling visions of the future, and her quest to remain hidden from The Garm, and a Coven of witches who believe Niamh killed several of their brothers and sisters. Niamh’s visions propel our heroine to act in defiance, acts that have placed Niamh under the watch of Fionn Mor, the former high king (turned Fae) of Ireland. Having revealed herself to the human world, Fionn hires powerful werewolf mercenary Kiyonari Fujiwara aka Kiyo, to protect our heroine but Niamh’s visions are about to pull our couple on a journey through Europe and Japan, placing them in the direct line of fire. What ensues is the slow building, slow burn romance and relationship between Kiyo and Niamh, and the potential fall-out as Kiyo’s return to Japan is met with a debt owed, and Niamh’s visions reveal more than she could have ever suspected.
Niamh and Kiyo are both powerful members of the supernatural. Kiyo is an immortal, something more than a lone rogue werewolf; and Niamh has powers beyond the normal Fae. With the ability to heal quickly, Niamh and Kiyo have faced their own deaths on numerous occasions but someone is desperate to tear them apart, and in doing so open the portal back to the land of the Fae.
The relationship between Niamh and Kiyo begins acrimoniously when Kiyo is hired to protect and secure our story line heroine. Niamh is more than capable of protecting herself but Niamh has revealed her existence to the world, and in doing so, revealed her whereabouts to The Garm and The Coven. Kiyo doesn’t do relationships and keeps secret his immortality to protect who and what he is. Meeting Kiyo stirs something deep within our story line hero, something he is unable to comprehend or understand. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate and intense.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Conall MacLennan, Alpha and Chief of Clan MacLennan,
(War of Hearts 1) Fionn Mor, and Rose Kelly (Kiss of Vengeance 2 ), IT specialist and vampire Bran; Japanese werewolf Alpha Sakura, her mate Daiki, several members of the Japanese Pack, and Astra, a Fae whose powers are beyond our story line heroine’s.
BOUND BY FOREVER is a story of vengeance and betrayal; power and control; relationships and fate. The slow building premise is imaginative and entertaining ; the characters are strong, intelligent and animated ; the romance is fated and spicy.
I have enjoyed every book in this series and Bound by Forever is another knock out by S. Young. Niamh has been losing herself since she lost her brother, Ronan. She has set herself on a destructive path of trying to save people, while also trying to stop the gate from being open to the Fae world. Kiyo, a loner werewolf in the supernatural world, has been hired by Fionn to protect Niamh, but he has to find her first. Once these two meet, the stubbornness and clashing begins. Niamh doesn’t want his help and Kiyo made a promise he will not break. Niamh and Kiyo take us on whirlwind adventure where they have a connection that both try to ignore, and one where your heart will break repeatedly until it finally gets put back together in a beautiful way that matches Kiyo and Niamh’s style. This journey is full of twists, turns, surprises, and moments where you think something may finally happen, but does not, though keep hoping it will. Kiyo and Niamh capture your attention from the start and will have your heart by the end. I can’t wait to see what’s next in this series!
This book takes you on a great adventure into a paranormal world. I was looking forward to read Niamh and Kiyo’s story. They are incredible together. I love how they fought their physical atraction and later even being friends was too much for Kiyo. I get it. He was a lone wolf for so long, that he didn’t know how to trust and how to be open with someone.
But Niamh is such a sweet girl. She cares for everyone and she is just perfect.
This story shows you how friendship and adoration can grow from being strangers to being something more. I love it. It grows slowly but steadily.
I also love how Japan is described. I would love to visit this country one day. I loved the language and it took me back to my studying days, when I was learning Japanese but never learned it. It is very hard to learn. I admire all non-japenese people who learn it fluently.
I highly reccomend this book. It is the third in the series, but can be read as standalone.
I received an earc from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
4.25 stars
ARC provided by author for honest review
I was so excited to read Kiyo and Niamh story and I wasn’t disappointed. Loved the journey they took to Japan and the mythology Young added into it as well. The ending just seemed a little to me.
Trigger Warnings: loss of loved one, mention of rape, mention of cutting, mention of suicide, violence, blood, gore, sexual assault, gaslighting, and murder
I don’t know what to say about this book. But I have definitely found another amazing paranormal romance that I can’t get enough of.
Niamh was a character that when you read the previous book you would want to have her own story. Kiyo oh man can you say loner and hot damn his an immortal werewolf
The chemistry between these you will feel instantly. Even though Kiyo fight his attraction to Niamh it just can’t be denied.
This story was full of twists and turns and slow burn romance, suspense and lots of action. This series just gets better and better and I know it’s one of those that you will want to reread over and over again. I can’t wait for more and highly recommend to any Paranormal reader.
Kiyo has been hired to keep Niamh safe from herself. Neither one is very trusting but trust is what they need for each other. Niamh’s visions are leading her astray and make no sense. Soon the pieces are starting to fit into place. Unable to fight their attraction Kiyo and Niamh soon realize they are fated mates. I love how these two complete each other. So can’t wait for the next book!
4.5 stars!
Another fantastic read from Samantha Young. A fast-paced, exciting paranormal read with great world development, fantastic characters, a whole lot of action and a beautifully emotional love story. I devoured this book, and couldn’t get enough!
This is the third book in the True Immortality series. There is enough background given for you to read this as a standalone, but it contains spoilers for the earlier books in the series. And honestly, why would you pick up a paranormal book halfway through a series anyway? So much has already happened, and the first two books are just awesome, and you don’t want to miss out on those! I definitely recommend starting this series from the beginning so that you get the full picture and appreciate it the way it was meant to be read.
This is the story of Kiyo and Niamh. Both have already been introduced in earlier books, and it’s a bit of a complex backstory so I won’t go into too much detail, but basically Niamh is a fae living in hiding because she’s being chased down by various supernatural factions who either want to kill her or use her almost fathomless powers for nefarious purposes. Kiyo is an immortal werewolf who has been hired by Fionn (hero of book, #2, Kiss of Vengeance) to track Niamh down and protect her – Kiyo’s immortality makes him a one-of-a-kind werewolf, and he is the only being strong enough for the job (there is a fun free short story – Kiss of Eternity”> – which shows us this arrangement being made).
Niamh is an incredibly gifted fae whose life has not been easy. Reeling from grief, loss and guilt, she has taken it upon herself to become a lone vigilante, meting out justice to bad guys that she sees in visions. Her ‘missions’ have her bouncing all over Europe, until Kiyo steps in.
Kiyo is a lone wolf in every sense of the word. He has kept himself attachment-free, and his cold and ruthless demeanour stops him from getting involved with anybody or anything. Looking after a fae is the last thing he wants to do, but he is being paid well do it. And, once he meets the beautiful young creature, he is intrigued.
“I am one of only five beings left in this world with powers beyond anyone’s wildest imagination. I’m capable of things you couldn’t conceive of.” She stepped into him, forcing him to hold her gaze. “And out of all my incredible gifts, my soft emotions, as you call them, my kindness, my compassion, my live, are my greatest. Because without them, I am the darkest, most dangerous being you’ll ever meet.
“Be grateful I am who I am, Kiyo. For everyone’s sake.”
Ooooh, shivers!
It’s not a smooth start for them though. Immediately distrusting of the werewolf, Niamh battles to get free of Kiyo, and we get this wonderful back-and-forth as the two powerful immortals battle it out for dominance. It’s exciting and dramatic, and parts of it are fun, as they bicker and fight, and they have big hurdles to overcome when it comes to gaining each other’s trust.
“There is light and dark in all of us, Niamh. Sometimes life causes us to let in a little more dark than we’re comfortable with. But as long as we remember the light exists to chase away the shadows, we’ll be okay.” He glanced at her meaningfully. “The dark is our imperfect natures, but without it, we’d never realize how beautiful the light is. How beautiful it is as it dances with the shadows.”
This book is a lot more emotional than I was expecting, and I really enjoyed that aspect of the story. Kiyo, who has been alone for so long and has been keeping secrets for centuries, has a lot to learn as he begins to open up for the first time in his life, and Niamh needs to find it in her to trust somebody else to be there for her her. It’s a dramatic journey with lots of ups and downs as they figure it all out, but I loved watching it all unfold (especially when Kiyo gest some help from a fellow werewolf that I was thrilled to see again!).
“You can’t love someone if they’ve never shown you who they really are … I’ve only ever shown one person who I really am. And I’m looking at her right now.”
The romance is a slow burn, but so, so worth the wait! As I said, there’s a lot that they have to learn before they can even begin to get involved, but the build up is fantastic, and the chemistry sizzles, so by the time they actually get there, I was almost delirious with happiness (and fanning myself at the hotness) as they finally figured themselves out.
“I want you,” he repeated and pressed his hand harder against her heart. “But I want this too. If you can’t give me that, you need to say so now because I can’t take one without the other. Not with you.”
Her whole body seemed to sag into him. “You already have it,” she confessed. “I feel like you’ve had it forever.”
From Eastern Europe to Scandinavia, Scotland, France, Japan and more, it’s a whirlwind journey for Kiyo and Niamh as they follow Niamh’s visions, leading to one hell of a showdown that is exciting, suspenseful and action-packed. I loved the tie-in to Kiyo’s past as they visit his home country, and the story twists and turns as a new threat emerges – one that has the potential to destroy the world as they know it.
This is a great read, with a really satisfying ending, including an intriguing glimpse into Elijah’s story up next. We get to catch up with the couples from the previous books, and I am loving both the strength of the fae sisterhood, and the ‘bromance’ dynamic as the guys all interact. So fun!
This series is turning into a PNR fave! I am loving the action, excitement and the passionate, emotional love stories, and I can’t wait to see how it’s all going to finish in the final book.
I loved this one – 4.5 stars!
I am newer to the paranormal side of Samantha Young, but let me tell you, she has captivated me with her stories in the True Immortality series. Bound by Forever by S. young (AKA Samantha Young) brings us the story of Niamh Farren and Kiyo. Kiyo is a werewolf who is also an immortal and a loner. When he is hired to protect a fae, he never expects Niamh and her effect on him. She is grief stricken and a bit lost. But Niamh wants nothing to do with Kiyo and that gives us some fun back and forth between them. Theirs is a slow burn enemies to lovers romance that was emotional and steamy.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
4.5 Stars!
Niamh Farren is a beautiful 26 yr. old Irish fae-borne woman born into the human world. Her magic was limitless, and she was one of the most powerful beings on the planet. As a result she’d been on the run since she was twelve. She was a psychic who had spent most of her life trying to decipher and follow her visions. Humans and supernaturals alike were drawn to her, and she tries to blend in while anticipating enemies lurking in the shadows. Her gifts become burdens when tragedy strikes and she loses the one person that is her home. Consumed by grief Niamh is completely lost. She’s lonely, sad, and unpredictable. She’s been careless and is bringing too much attention to herself. She hardly recognizes herself anymore, and has become a bit of a wild card. Being one of the Fae with special abilities to open the gate to Faerie carries great responsibility. When she seems to veer off her intended path, she crosses paths with a grumpy wolf named Kiyo that is a mystery to her. He’s possibly the most beautiful man she’s ever seen, but also the most irritating.
Kiyonari Fujiwara is a Japanese American immortal werewolf who has lived the life of a nomad. He’s a lone alpha who has been an underground fighter and a mercenary for hire. He’s cold, opinionated, quiet, broody, loyal, honorable, and always on guard. He doesn’t let anyone get too close to him, but he accepts a job from one of the few people he trusts. Fionn Mor hires him to protect Niamh. Failure wasn’t an option, but she makes it very difficult for him to do his job. Her capabilities were endless, and she was constantly on the move while being hunted. She appears delicate and vulnerable, but she’s fierce, and a force to be reckoned with. She challenges him at every turn and becomes a thorn in his side. Kiyo took pride in his unwavering self control, and she made him feel unhinged. In his world emotions are weakness, but when they begin to creep in will he lower his defenses for love?
Bound By Forever is a novel by Samantha Young writing under her pen name S. Young. This is the authors third book in her True Immortality series. It’s an adult paranormal, slow burn, enemies to lovers romance that takes you on an action packed journey through Europe and Japan. It’s an exciting adventure in the supernatural world of the Fae, werewolves and vampires about fate, destiny and self discovery. It’s an emotional, beautiful story full of danger, suspense, and passion where two souls are bound by their undeniable connection.
Ahh…I loved this. Loving how these men keep falling for these Fae woman. It’s kinda comical actually. These big brooding men, saying they will never have mates. Ha! So we have a lone Wolf, Kiyo, who is hired to protect Fae, Niamh. Things just don’t go as easy as he thinks they should. She’s a tricky one. Hard to hang onto. And she can’t seem to shake the Wolf. The more time they spend together the closer they get. Always someone after the Fae. And in this book it is no different. While reading you will end up captured right along with Kiyo and Niamh. These two are amazing together. They’re an amazing team once they work out all of their bugs. Even get some cameos from the first two books. I always love that! Ties it all together. So grab your copy today and enjoy the wild ride you’ll experience in this book.
In ‘Bound By Forever’ we meet Niamh. Niamh is one of seven fae children born into the human world with the ability to open the gate to Faerie. Yes, she is fae.. But she was born from a human mother and has always wanted the normal things in life: love, friendship.. peace. But she is definitely not ‘normal’. Her life has been all about making sure the other Faerie’s stay on the right path and don’t open the gate. But after her brother was murdered, she has trouble staying under the radar of her enemies. Without Niamh’s knowledge, werewolf Kiyo has been giving the task to keep Niamh save from her enemies.. and especially herself.
Kiyo has been a werewolf for many years and he is unlike any of his kind. Kiyo is cursed with immortality and has always been on his own. He is definitely one you would call cold. He has known all kinds of hurt and he promised himself never to ‘feel’ much again. And Kiyo definitely exceeds at that.. Until he meets Niamh. Niamh is almost to good! She is kind, even if people don’t really deserve it. And from the moment Niamh and Kiyo meet there is a connection between the two of them. And unfortunately a lot of drama too.
‘Bound By Forever’ was definitely another great book by S. Young. From the moment I started reading, I was completely hooked to the story and the characters. The chemistry between Niamh and Kiyo is flying of the pages, and I just loved those two so much. They are very different. While Niamh can easily admit to herself she is attracted to Kiyo. Kiyo tries his hardest to be cold and unkind to Niamh. And he definitely tries to convince himself he doesn’t feel anything for the fae except a sense of duty. I loved reading this book through both Niamh and Kiyo’s point of view.
Although the romance was really bloody good, and made me swoon from the beginning till the very end, their was also a lot of suspenseful moments that kept me sitting on the edge of my seat. Their where several moments throughout this read I found myself unable to do anything but keep on reading just so I would know what was going to happen next.
The paranormal aspects in this series is also something I love. I love the paranormal stuff, but especially when you can almost imagine it to be something real. And in this series I can easily imagine myself walking besides the characters. (Definitely not as cool as these characters though! LOL!)
What I also loved was seeing and hearing little bits about the characters from the previous two books. These characters are all connected, but you can definitely still read this book as a standalone.
I for one can’t wait to read the next book in this series! ‘Bound By Forever’ is definitely going on my Favorite Reads of 2020 list!
Oh my stars this book! I have been trying to think of something adequate for this review for this book and honestly, I am coming up short. This storyline as a whole throughout the series is beyond mind blowing and original. My heart races with each story and Bound by Forever does just that and more. I am not sure why I connected more with Kiyo and Naimh but I was so completely wrapped up in their story of survival and love. While these two really butt heads, I find it was the kind of foreplay banter that makes you grin as these two get on each other’s nerves to finally give into that all encompassing feeling that they have for each other.
The one thing I loved about this story is the concept. Adding the lore behind Kiyo gave it that much more depth and seeing how all these Fae like Naimh are all intertwined makes it just that more awe inspiring.
There are some heart racing moments that will keep you on your toes with things thrown at these two and there are such passionate moments that will have you swoon and want Kiyo for yourself. Which in all honesty, Kiyo is mine. I am not sharing him. There is just that wow factor with him and how his past plays into his future that makes you want to love him just that much more. Naimh is such a fighter that you cannot help but adore her every moment. These two together are an explosion! If you haven’t picked up this series from S. Young, I highly recommend it. It is one of those series that you will never forget!
I will say that this book took longer for me to get into than I thought it would. Especially since the first two gripped me right from the outset. I think it was because Niamhe wanted nothing to do with Kiyo and they kept working against each other. It definitely worked with the storyline and made it so much better when they decided to start working together and actually trusting each other. And then of course the fighting their feelings was fun to read. Overall even with the slow start for me I really enjoyed this book and the direction it took. I’m sad that there is only one more book after this but I am excited for it.
*I received an arc for an honest review*
Bound by Forever is such a fantastic read that will suck you into the paranormal world. Niamh is a force to be reckoned with. She has the ability to see things as part of the fae world. Kiyo is and immortal wolf who is his own pack set to protect Niamh. Neither saw a bound between them forming. Once they give into their bound their chemistry is off the charts. Kiyo and Niamh are amazing together as they come together as one of the bounded pairs. If you haven’t read the True Immortality series yet you really need to get hooked on it fast. I love Bound by Forever and what Samantha Young brings us. I can’t wait for more to come.
Good lord, I’m exhausted! There’s something about this series that demands your full attention while reading it, there’s twists and turns throughout, one wrong assumption and you’re thrown for a loop. Kiyo is one strong minded immortal werewolf, but he has met his match in the also immortal fae, Niamh. Things start out pretty complicated and shakey between these two characters, but Kiyo has a job to do, and that’s to protect the immortal fae or his forever life will become a living hell. This story had a lot of emotional baggage to get through, especially for Niamh, but the mercenary werewolf soon realizes that there’s more between the two of them that he’s willing to admit. Loved the backdrop of this story, loved the steamy connection between these two unlikely characters, still reeling from the events that happened, and will need to sort out Echo and Elijah’s meaning in this whole thing. The author definitely gives enough background in this book to read as a stand-alone, but you will want to read the first two books to get the rich history in this series, you won’t be sorry. The funny thing is I’m not a paranormal fan, but this author has a knack to make even the strongest minded non lover paranormal reader changer her mind. Everything she touches turns to gold! Loved it, would highly recommend it.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
I am in love with this series and this story of Kiyo and Niamh was superb. The angst in the book had me sitting on the edge reading and I could not put it down!
Fabulously written! I just loved it!! I loved how we had a glimpse at part characters too. It’s going to be a sad day when this series is over!
