Amelia grew up in a world of half-truths. She knows she’s an Elder, but has no idea what that means. Her father reminds her daily that she must maintain control, but he refuses to explain why. Even worse, she’s betrothed to the prince of the Immortals and doesn’t even know his name. Finally breaking free to live a few normal years at a community college, the last thing Amelia expects is to find … is to find her best friend in a cheeky southern girl, or fall for a self-assured human who sees her for who she is, not what she will become.
As she learns more about herself, Amelia realizes the line between love and duty is a thin one. As her power continues to increase exponentially and her questions are slowly answered, Amelia must make the ultimate choice. The question is, will her head win the battle, or her heart?

Awesome first book in a series. I immediately downloaded the series and read them straight through.
Interesting read, great characters and pace good read.
You won’t want to put it down
The story is so good and so interesting that it’s unfortunate where it ends. Gotta get the sequel. . .
This is one of those books that’s going to grab you from the prologue and not let you go. I finished this book about an hour ago and I still can’t get it out of my mind. I’m just dying to read the next book (which I do not have handy unfortunately!)
We start with a prologue that gives us a hint into the past that the main character spends most of …
Excellent young adult fantasy and romance. Well written and plotted.
Enthralling world building as it has new, fresh ideas. Suspenseful as you never quite know who to trust, even at the end. Look forward to the rest series.
I think this is an amazing book and that the author did a good job. I love the romance and enjoy learning the characters problems throughout the book.
I couldn’t put the book down! Definitely a different feel than Twilight, Vampire Diaries or even Charmed. You could definitely feel emotions as you read and I couldn’t help visualize what I was reading. For it being the first book of the series I already fell in love with some of the characters.
Really interesting until it turned out to be witches. 🙁
The story and concept was very interesting, but I wasn’t as into it as I thought I would be. However, I was so curious to see what would happen with Amelia and Aidan that I couldn’t put the book down.
i cried so many timesi couldn’t onpen my eyes.
A great read when you have nothing else.
This was full of poor punctuation, words left out of sentences, added words to sentences, that made it hard to read. No proof reader means unprofessional and amateur author.
more for a younger reader I think. Teens to 20 somethings
Started out strong and then slowed down in the middle, too many secrets from Amelia. If she would have just been told what she was this could have been a kick a$$ book, but they failed it. SO much potential, just not used. Blah.
Interesting concept, but the plot was confusing and drug out, I didn’t finish the book because I was bored. Maybe if the story was reviewed and polished up several more times it could Be pretty great, modify the pacing and action a little bit.
