I read these because of the slight intertwining portion for Stealing Summer and I am SO glad I did. These were amazing.
This is Lexi Blake writing as Sophie Oak and YUM.
Each of these is an interconnected standalone so you need to read them in order. They are quick and sexy reads and by the end you are completely obsessed with these characters and this world. Just a quick review for me but they were amazing.
I loved the strength of the heroines and the tenacity they showed book after book even when seated down. The heroines shined and the guys were just along for the ride. Girl. Power. But like, alpha yummy power too. Shifters and Magic and Vampires, OH MY.
5 stars
Meg is in a job that leads nowhere and divorced from a butthole. She is rendered unconscious and when she awakes, she’s naked in some cage. There are strange people everywhere. When a handsome man starts inspecting her, she is strangely attracted to him. Beck is a king hiding out. He is looking for a bond mate for him and his twin brother. A bond mate is supposed to bring them together and release their powers. Beck is the warrior king half and his brother Cian, is the intellectual half. Cian is slowly fading and if a mate is not found, he’ll die. Meg at first wants to return to her own plane but slowly falls for the intriguing twins. Beck is dominate but has been taught that is not how to treat women. Meg is submissive and wants that type of relationship but Beck thinks she only wants it because he does. A hag wants the brothers powers and the only way to do that is send Meg away and kill the brothers. Can Meg get back to her men before it’s too late?
Meg is like a mama bear protecting her cubs. Beck needs to get his head out of his ass. Cian is so sweet he’ll give you a toothache. There was times I would have slapped the crap out of Beck. There are vampires, gnomes, ogres, brownies, and a village who needs their kings. Some parts were hilarious and some was a little gross. M/F, M/F/M.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for Bookfunnel *
I don’t think there is a genre that Lexi Blake / Sophie Oak can’t write the heck out of. She is a consummate storyteller. Bound is a re-release stand alone tale of a woman transported into a realm that is not her own. She is surrounded by an unfamiliar land, that she makes hers. Meg isn’t the kind of character to lie back, put her hand to her forehead and swoon. She will make sure that her world is what she makes of it. And conveniently, it includes a couple of very handsome Fae brothers.
You can’t go wrong in one-clicking this novel. Just do it. You won’t regret it!
I am generally a military hero/security company/ action romance reader, Lexi is one of my go-to authors. I am not a fantasy reader, so originally when I heard that she had a faery series, hmm, OK i’ll bite, how bad can it be it’s Lexi? Her Thieves series pulled me in so when Bound was released, there was no way I wasn’t going there. This has everything you could want in a book, action/adventure, handsome twins, a beautiful maiden and one hot vampire. Lexi also intertwines characters and concepts from her other series, so there is always a little nugget to be on the look out for as well. Such a terrific story teller, and one that will pull you in and not let go. Definitely worth the trip into the Lexiverse.
Paranormal Romance, books I thought I would never get into. Lexi Blake has a way to suck you into a story that you can not put it down. Beck and Cian are twin brothers tring to get back the throne they had lost when their uncle killed their parents and sister. But they need a mate to complete them, to join them together as one. Meggie is the one, the human taken from her meaningless life, but now she has a purpose. To love these men and make them one. This story is filled with fairies, vampires, trolls brownies and more! It is funny and the plot will keep you turning every page wanting more. And the menage scenes are amazing!!
Lexi Blake has such an incredible imagination. I always marvel at her creative output especially in urban fantasy. There are all manner of beings in Bound, from vampires to goblins to trolls to brownies and more. Beck, & Cian must find a wife and soon in order to fulfill their destiny. Megan is no shrinking violet and will not be pushed around by any man, much less two of them. These gorgeous men need Meg in ways she can’t comprehend. What does she have to offer them? Settling for less than what she wants from them both will not happen. Along the way she falls deeply in love but there are dark forces afoot who may keep this trio from their forever HEA.
Bound is just what I needed in my reading world. Adventurous and suspenseful, great characters and over the top heat and hotness pour off the pages. All set in a paranormal world.
Cian and Beckett are Symbiotic twins and kings without a throne. Two halves that equal the whole. They share a soul. They are each other’s balance. Even though they share a soul and look identical the brothers are very different. Beckett is the warrior. Stern and dominant. He has a rough and raw edge to him. Beneath that intense exterior Beckett is loyal, caring and the true alpha that he is. Cian is the intellectual half. Logical, affectionate and definitely more dramatic. Cian is all the things that Becketts not, and vice versa. With his intellectual side being so vast it’s very easy to get lost in his own head for extended periods of time. His own brain transporting him to another time and place in his life. Cian is sensual and tender. A romantic if you will. Neither brother is balanced. Symbiotic twins need a third to balance them fully. A triad. Cian and Beckett are fighting off the worst of them selves in order to win the thing they need most.
Megan’s boring and mediocre life took a drastic turn when she woke up within caged bed in a world she’d never seen. For someone who got plucked off of her plane of existence and shoved into a world where she knows nothing and no one and the people she encounters are the stuff of fairytales, she handles the situation a lot better than I would, that’s for sure. Meg takes this experience with a grain of salt and goes with the flow while making her own mark. She’s kind and caring, adventurous and a bit sassy. An ordinary woman who has what it takes to be a good queen.
Paranormal Romance is where I started my love of romance reading. Just a few weeks ago I was talking with my book loving gals, that I had been craving a really good paranormal read. Bound satisfy that craving and then some. This book completely consumed me. All sorts of mythical creatures with Lexi Blake’s personal twist on them. I should’ve known from the get go that I was not gonna put this book down. The characters are rich and unique. We get to see them at their lowest of lows, go through their personal growth and see how they connect together. All the while we are in this crazy world, with creatures of fairy tales and a plot that kept my fingers flipping pages on my Kindle.
Wow, that’s all I have to say, when I first started reading this story. I’ve not read any paranormal type stories from Lexi, so I was very intrigued, and I was not disappointed.
This is not your usual faery tale, this is so much more. We are taken on quite an epic adventure, with so much intrigue, so much battle of wills between Meg and her men, Beckett and Cian. I loved it, I could not put the book down and cannot wait for the next story in the series.
I need more!!!
Lexi Blake writes some of my favorite books, and this is no exception! Bound is one of the few books I missed when it was released under Sophie Oak, and I’m so happy to see it re-released now – a brand new story to get sucked into! Beck and Cian tug at my heartstrings, and I also want to whack them upside the head at times. The chemistry is off the charts, and I was so sad when I realized the book was ending. Don’t hesitate; Lexi Blake is a one-click author of mine for sure!!
Had me hooked from the first page! DEFINITE must read!!! The connection between Beck Meg and Cian…..omg!!!
I was so excited when I heard this series was being re-released, since I didn’t get to read it initially, and that excitement was not misplaced. Lexi Blake delivers another fabulous story. It’s super-steamy, naturally – ménage and dominance in a Lexi Blake book couldn’t be anything else. But it’s so much more than hot sex. Drama? Yes, this book delivers that. Humor? Absolutely! A cast of characters that you hope to see again and again? Definitely. Tie-ins to the rest of the Lexiverse? Yes indeedy. And at the core, a story of growth as Meg, Beckett and Cian find themselves and each other. Both Meg and Beck were listening to old tapes about what they were or how they were expected to behave and watching them break free from those expectations was satisfying. I wasn’t certain about Cian, at first, but he quickly overcame my doubts. This book had all the feels – and I’m super-glad that I only have to wait a week for Dante’s story in Beast!
An awesome read! I hadn’t read one of Lexi’s paranormal books before but I’m definitely adding them to my wish list. Beckett, Cain and Megan’s story kept me on the edge all the way through. Can’t wait for the next book. If you like paranormal romance you definitely need to read this book.
Bound was a faery tale like no other. Perfectly ordinary Megan Starke thinks she is having one heck of a dream, only to realize she is in a time and place very different than her own. One where vampires, faeries, goblins and more roam the land and where she is to be the prize in a bloody tournament.
Beckett and Cian Finn were supposed to be heirs to the Seelie Fae throne. However, their murderous uncle had other plans. Now, Beck must find their lifemate. The one woman they can bond with too keep both him and his brother from fading. From the first look, Beck knows that Megan is theirs. The one woman who can bind both Cian and Beck together and make them whole again. But, can they convince Megan that staying with them is what she needs or will she leave them behind in search of a way back to the life she left behind.
When I found out that Lexi Blake had written a paranormal trilogy, I about flipped my lid and couldn’t wait to get my grabby hands on these books! She has an amazing way of creating completely kick-a$$ woman, who understand the value of submission and alpha heroes who are willing to risk everything for the women they love.
Bound was an epic adventure and battle of wills as Meg had to learn to not only navigate a brand new world, but her new husbands as well. And, while they may currently be dethroned, they are still the rightful kings, which makes her a queen.
But, not everyone is happy the twins have found their mate, and danger lurks around every corner, which leads to amazing suspense and twists and turns as Beck and Cian must work to find out who they can and cannot trust as they keep their love safe from those wanting to end them all.
Beck and Cian are truly two halves of the same whole. Cian is sweet and playful and sexy and so damn smart and Beck is all sexy alpha . . . and only meg can tame him. Together, they are perfect for Meg, if only she can trust in herself and them enough to give them both her heart.
Bound was one of the most suspenseful and unique paranormal romances I have ever read . . .and so hot it nearly set my kindle on fire! I cannot wait to continue on with this trilogy, as vampire extraordinaire Dante’s story is up next, and, I have to say, after getting to know him in Bound, I can’t see what Lexi has in store for him! 5 stars!
I can 100% tell from reading Bound by Lexi Blake/Sophie Oak that I am in for the reading ride of my life with this trilogy. This story is super rich in amazing Fae and other magical creatures. The author has created an exciting magical world consisting of many different planes. (Can you believe that on some of these planes COFFEE is almost impossible to find? Ouchy!)
The storyline in this book flows flawlessly and evokes many magical images as well as uber hot, sexy scenes to entertain readers. This story is quite intricately plotted and sown with many intriguing characters. The three main characters, human Megan Stark and symbiotic twin Fae and true heirs to the Fae throne, Beckett and Cian are all very entertaining and likeable personalities. Their struggle to be together and have a HEA makes for a sexy yet enchanting read. I loved this story and can’t waitfor book #2 Beast.
