First off, (Yes, I said OFF!), I ADORED THIS BOOK! TOTALLY!! I finished it early in the morning and – OH MY STARS! – it was awesome! There was so many twists and turns, gasping moments and surprises, times were I was rooting for Danica and BOOING Benn and Gorde!
If you like your book boyfriends (plural!) on the purple side, then one-click quickly on the latest story from the writing duo of Renee Rose and Rebel West, because this is one story that will make your toes curl and might even bring a tear to your eyes. One of the things that I’m enjoying about this new series are the varying Zandian personalities from the men and the sassy human females that seem to vex them at every turn. Okay, there’s a bunch of other things as well, including the chemistry between the characters, the sizzling scenes together, and the yummy happily ever afters. And I’ll add that I really enjoyed Danika, as a character and all she had to go through to get her HEA. Renee Rose and Rebel West’s “Bought by the Zandians” is book 2 in the Zandian Brides series (it’s a standalone!) and it was grand fun to read.
I keep thinking we are not going to get more of the Zandians, then, SURPRISE!!! Another sexy go round with the Zandian warriors as they attempt to repopulate their planet.
This book can be read as a standalone, although it will probably make you want to read others in the Zandian series.
The relationship between Gorde, Danica, and Benn grow as she tries to keep her secret. They have great chemistry and warm, loving feelings towards one another. There are also a couple of unexpected twists and a tad of suspense in this book that just make it more intriguing.
If you like alien romance tales, this book and series should definitely interest you.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy.
Interesting and exciting action, this story has a lot of things going for it. There is so much action, both violent and sensual, that it is impossible to put Dow. The emotionalism will drag you in and make sure you stay riveted to the end.
This is the first book I’ve read in the series, so yes it can be read as a standalone without the feeling of missing anything. I absolutely love paranormal stories and this story was fantastic. It was everything that paranormal lovers enjoy in a story; it had everything I enjoy in paranormal reads. It truly did not disappoint and I will be reading the first book in the series because yes, I enjoyed this one just that much. It’s hard not to love Danica, Benn and Gorde. Besides enjoying these characters, there was chemistry, steamy scenes and a bit of suspense within this story that kept me wanting more. This was an entertaining read and I was completely happy with the ending and I look forward to reading more books from this author in the future. Would I recommend this book? Absolutely!
A romantic fantasy tale with much sensual heat. Much action and adventure throughout this story. The characters are well developed within the context of the tale. The main female character is living a lie to protect her young and has to make some hard decisions along the way. Her strength of character shines through. She appears to have some magical ability along with her young. The two main male characters are strong, fierce, passionate and protective of their mate. Through all their trials and tribulations there is growth in maturity by all three of the main characters.
A good read for science fiction fans who has enjoy a good romance.
I received an advance review copy of this novel and I am leaving an honest review.
Danica is trying to escape an evil master. She is purchased by two Zandians. They take her back to their planet. The three are living together until a secret threatens to tear them apart.
Super spicy romance with BDSM themes. The Zandians Gorde and Benn are alpha yet caring. The entire Zandian series is amazing. I like that the stories are somewhat interconnected yet stand alone.
Fun alien HEA. This whole series is fun and easy to read. A steamy relaxing book series.
The Zandian story continues in this book. Zandia has been reclaimed and now needs to be repopulated. Scouts are being sent out to find other Zandian or suitable mates.
I loved Danica. She was so strong, not just for herself, but for her unborn child. She has gone through hell and all she wants is for her child to be safe and loved. And I enjoyed reading about her change and embracing everything that was happening.
Gorde and Benn, they were not your typical heroes. They were far from perfect and I didn’t like how they responded after finding out Danica´s secret. Specially because they lied to her in the beginning as well and didn’t have the most honest interest in her. I am on the fence about these two.
I enjoyed the book. It was sizzling and had a lot of action and a interesting storyline.
The one thing I didn’t get why this is labeled as a RH book when it is a menage.
Danica’s story is a compelling one, and the highlight of the story. It is one of a mother who would do what she had to do in order to protect her child. Though we don’t know much about her personality prior to meeting the Zandians, we do see that she goes through changes both in personality and talents. The reader is given small clues throughout that eventually come together to reveal the full story. The relative freedom of Zandia and the encouragement of new friends and experiences allow Danica to fully explore what life has to offer and what her interests and capabilities are.
But coming to Zandia also has conflict for her. She carries a burden with her that that no one can help her with that she must take on by herself. After this burden becomes increasingly unbearable, she’s metaphorically stabbed in the gut and goes through a long period of anguish.
The main drawback is that by contrast, I found the two main Zandian characters very unlikable. It made it feel like the relationship was one of desperation, of not knowing anything better, rather than something genuine.
When Benn and Gorde buy Danica, their thoughts frequently wander to her rarity and value. They don’t immediately tell her that she isn’t their slave, as slavery is banned on Zandia. They use the excuse that not telling her right away was for her own safety, and though that may have been true to an extent, they didn’t think twice before taking advantage of her.
The theme of lying to protect someone appears again with Danica, only hers is for a far nobler reason. But when Benn and Gorde discover her secret, they don’t pause to consider the legitimate reasons why she withheld information from them. They say things to her and about her and her child that are so reprehensible, it’s hard to believe she would be willing to take them back with so little apology. In the end, though they make some apology, it is brief and her actions still appear to be held in their eyes as being the far bigger sin. There is no effort to atone or make up for their reprehensible actions. They see an example of Tazz, a Zandian who betrays their people, but goes on to remedy his error and do the honorable thing. And though Benn and Gorde make note of this, they don’t seem to learn enough. Tazz ends up being the honorable one, while Benn and Gorde remain slightly-redeemed hypocrites. Tazz’s story line also aligns with our main storyline when Tazz’s mate expresses that all she wants is safety for herself and her children. Danica, knowing nothing but oppression and abuse, does not know how to dream of anything more than safety.
The Zandians really seem to struggle with the trauma humans live with, and the fact that that trauma, which is far too deeply embedded in them, will logically dictate much of their behavior, fears and reactions. One would think that after so many of them have interacted with these humans, they would have put together some sort of guide as required reading for anyone who has interest in mating with a human. Even those who are mated to a human make very little effort to explain to these two Zandians the reasoning behind Danica’s actions or serve as an intermediary between them.
Danica is a runaway sex slave who ran away from her Akronian owner but got caught by a slaver and is on the auction block when Zandian warriors spot her and realize she’s a human. The Zandians, Benn and Gorde buy her and bring her to their ship to bring her home to Zandia but, and this is a big but, they let her think she is their slave. Zandians do not keep humans as slaves! Danica is very worried because she has a secret that cannot be revealed, she is pregnant by her former owner, a very evil, warring species that only keep male children to be trained to fight. If a female is born, both mother and baby are murdered. Danica hopes to make it to the planet Jesel where she is told humans are free. Benn and Gorde keep Danica as their sex slave, they keep the fact that their species doesn’t keep slaves from her. When they finally confess to her that they cannot keep her, she pretty much
accepts their confession and loves their planet. The Zandians are given Danica as their mate by the King if she agrees to wanting them. There is still her secret that she fears to tell anyone because her baby is from a warring planet species and Zandians don’t allow that in their world. There is much more to this story, there are lies, betrayals, secrets and lots of steaming hot sex with quite a few punishing spankings along the way, but the main message I took from it is, a mother’s love is a strong and unbeatable thing, nothing is too risky if she can keep her child safe from harm. On another note, know that they do get their HEA, that is an important thing for me to really enjoy a book and I loved this one!!!
More Zandian’s are finding their mates. There seems to be some kind of mechanism that lets the big males zero in on just the right female. This story has a new fascinating element to it and it really adds to the story.
This is one of those stories that thrust you into the action on the first page. You are quickly introduced to the characters and the world (more detail is added throughout the story) and the pace doesn’t slow down. The suspense and danger aspects to this story kept things intense, and the passion between Danica, Gorde, and Benn kept things heated up. The emotional connection that I had with Danica made this story gut-wrenching at times, but it also made me love it even more. This series is a definite one-click!
Awesome mixes to the Zandians world I really enjoyed reading this book great story plot steamy love scene great Happy ending. No spoilers here I voluntarily review this book for my honest
