Before Liz Lemon, before “Weekend Update,” before “Sarah Palin,” Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey’s story can be told. From her youthful days as a … youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon — from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.
Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we’ve all suspected: you’re no one until someone calls you bossy.

I read Bossy Pants by Tina Fey a few years ago and it still remains one of my favorite comedy memoirs — most likely influenced by the fact that she’s also one of my favorite comedians. A self proclaimed SNL geek I’ve watched every season since I was a toddler — and once tried to see the show live until my business trip was unfortunately …
From the title of this book to the author to the witty writing to the borderline self-deprecating humor, I loved this book. I’ve always been a fan of Tina Fey’s writing (SNL, 30 Rock), so learning about her life leading up to those big breaks was amazing and funny and had me laughing out loud at almost every turn. One of my favorite memoirs!
There are no words for how funny this book is. Hilarious is just too weak. They need to invent a new word. Get on it, Millennials. You’re all great at making up new terms.
I’m a Tina Fey fan, so I might be biased, but unlike other books about people talking about their careers and the challenges they face, two things really stood out from this book: 1. It feels very real (more so than many other books of this nature), and 2. I laughed a lot.
Tina Fey’s collaborative work has always tickled my funny bone in a most …
This book partially inspired me to write my own book, in that it is just a person talking about stuff that has happened in their life. As simple as that, it’s something almost anyone could do. Where Bossypants differs is that not everyone has been a writer and actor for Saturday Night Live and Hollywood movies. I almost worry that it’s only …
Tina Fey and the people that she writes about add up to a collective cast that I’d enjoy being friends with. I’m also glad to hear from a successful woman that it’s taken a lot to get where she is and sometimes luck plays a role.
Funny but serious…my favorite combo for reading material.
Fey is one of the top comedienne’s working today. Funny, whip-smart and always entertaining, this is a fast, furious, fun read.
Absolutely hilarious. One of my favorites. I will never forget reading this on my kindle in the dead of night while trying to rock my baby back to sleep and laughing so hard that I woke him up… several nights in a row. I highly recommend to ANYONE who wants a smart laugh.
I’d suggest listening to the audiobook to get the full impact of all of the jokes
Very Interesting read. It was fun to listen to Tina Fey tell her story. Where she came from. What work she did. What she learned from her family both home and work. What made her tick.
If I’m honest, I picked this book because her movies kill me. I wondered if she was as funny. I don’t watch SNL much and I’ve never watched 30 Rock. I am happy to …
A very light and heart warming read that is guaranteed to keep a smile on your face and will even manage to have you bursting with so many giggles & a few gut busting belly laughs that you can count on some tears of joy to make an appearance somewhere in between your blissful free spirit, happy tears and hearty belly laughs. Bound to leave you …
I enjoyed this as an audio book and highly recommend it. I usually love reading print books – currently mostly in ebook format. BUT audio books where the person telling their story does the reading are my new guilty pleasure. Add in the author being someone who has made a career out of comedy and making people laugh and I’m hooked. The text …
I appreciated the humor of Tina Fey after this. And I could relate to what having a kid and what others say to you does to one!
Enjoyable quick read about Tina Fay’s life and career.
Humorous real-life tales. Tina Fey is equal parts funny and smart. Her wit is not to be missed. Highly recommended!!
A great short, funny read. I hope she writes more books.
Life is hard. We all need a laugh. Do yourself a favor and read this book.
I laughed so hard reading this on an international flight the guy sitting next to me changed seats.
Loved this book.
