He was the fuel for all my schoolgirl fantasies… friend’s baby sister. But faced with the full-force of Duncan’s particular desires, I became exactly what I’d been fighting to leave behind—the naïve schoolgirl, too innocent to deal with the needs of a man like Duncan.
But I’m not a scared little girl anymore. I’m ready for Duncan to focus the intensity that made him a world-renowned surgeon solely on me. I’m determined he’ll be the one to take my innocence once and for all.
And I’m not giving up until he claims what belongs only to him—me.

Sara and Duncan’s story in Lark Avery’s Bossy Surgeon is disturbingly hot – and I mean that in the very best of ways. This superbly written story is also pure fun and with just the right degree of romance. One word description: yum. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
Sara grew up in love with her brother’s best friend. But one night when she doesn’t understand what is happening, things go south and they stop speaking. But when she moves to New York, it is because Duncan is there and she is hoping to get another chance with him.
Duncan wants more with his friend’s little sister, but she isn’t ready for him still. But when he gets a call that she is hurt, he does the only thing he can do, he saves her in more than one way. But what will happen with his best friend? Is Sara ready for him now?
This is such a hot, quick read. The characters are great and the story, although short, is full of action, love, lust, romance, emotions and a HEA. I received an ARC of this book from the author.
Duncan is best friends with Sara’s older brother. That should make what she is feeling for him off limits….only it doesn’t. Hidden feelings along with little not-so-subtle hints are always there. One night, Sara decides to act out on her feelings, climbs into bed with Duncan. Only the response from Duncan is not what she was anticipating. No this one is humiliating and hurtful.
Five years have since past. Duncan is on of the top surgeons in the hospital. A call from his best friend from the past has him a little agitated. A woman was mugged. The worst part is WHO was mugged, and now the best friend is asking for help from Duncan. To watch over this woman.
Face to face five years later…lots of changes, in a lot of ways. No more a naive little sister, and no more a man hiding behind a mask. All the truths come out, all the feelings that were hidden as well. They begin to realize that it took five years of a misunderstanding and hurt feelings to bring them to this point, but it is their honesty, forgiveness and love that will carry them for the rest of their lives.
The great character and storyline development kept me totally engaged until the turn of the very last page! I look forward to reading more from this author!
Great read. I loved it. https://storiesinreview971130128.wordpress.com/2019/01/07/my-review-for-bossy-surgeon-by-lark-avery/
A quick, exciting read that will keep your toes curled as Sara and Duncan sizzle as they burn with love and long pent up desire. Their passion propels them into a brilliant happily ever after. Good and entertaining. Not to be missed.

Bossy Surgeon is a great quick read.hot, sweet, steamy and enjoyable story, well written, interesting characters with off the charts chemistry that will melt your kindle. well done! I voluntarily reviewed an
advance reader copy of this book!
This quick read was deliciously fun and steamy. A brother’s best friend story that offers heat, heart and charming touches of humor. A perfect read for when you’re short on time, suffering a book hangover, or just want something light but spicy. Just delightful!
I’m not really sure how I feel about this story. It’s a quick read, with a little back story. The characters were likable enough, but the story lacked a real plot for me. I appreciated their feelings for each other and understood their reactions to the situation they were in, but it didn’t really feel like a complete story. With that being said, I did enjoy what I’ve read.
