Thirteen years before Emma Dumas bought me in a bachelor auction to teach me a lesson she stole my heart down on Key West. I fell so hard for this girl I made all the promises. Only with Emma, I really meant them. And then I disappeared. But it wasn’t my fault. Let’s just call my reason “Family Business”. I’d tell you what that business is, but then I’d have to kill you. Just kidding. I can’t … is, but then I’d have to kill you. Just kidding. I can’t tell you what my family business is because it’s so secret, even I don’t know.
My point is… I didn’t ghost. It was a weird twist of circumstances. And OK, yes. I did hook up with pretty much every girl on the island that week. But after I met Emma, I was ruined. She was the only one I wanted.
It’s been thirteen years. I’m a changed man.
I STILL want her. I have ALWAYS wanted her.
But it’s kind of hard to tell her that with a gag in my mouth and a hood over my head.
Bossy Brothers: Jesse features a bachelor auction gone wrong, four smart ladies who botch a crazy revenge kidnapping, a power dream date with fast cars, private jets, and expensive yachts, lots of ex-sex, and a happily ever after that proves… sometimes the best man for the job is a woman.

I was so happy to have a new series I could sink my teeth in. It’s got everything. Jesse is super bad boy charming, Super strong females, twist turns dark magic and lots of really good sexy times. I will be buying the whole series and audible books too. I can not say enough good things about JA Huss. You just have to read it for yourself
This is my official review by the author but not my first read ever. I got drawn to this book by the blurb!!
This is a story of a boy and a girl, they were wild together, fell in love, were young and reckless together…until the only boy she ever loved LEFT HER! Fast forward to 13 years and by a kidnapping and impromptus auction incident(s), they meet again. But now they are older, more mature and both very successful. Jesse get’s reminded who Emma really is, the sassy, strong and beautiful girl now turned bombshell woman. Their chemistry is undeniable and insane, but neither will budge. That is followed by their banter, mystery, drama, danger and so much laughter and fun!!
This story is sexy and intriguing. The sex scenes are steamy and the plot was adequate. Just when I thought I had figured it out, BOOM – TWIST! Jesse is total BOOKBOYFRIEND material, even if I wanted to sort of kill him at certain parts (especially the beginning). Never underestimate a heroine that has had her heart broken and out for revenge!! One sitting read and I am intrigued enough for Jonathon’s and Joey’s story.

This is book one in the Bossy Brothers series. And I absolutely loved it!
Jesse and Emma had me laughing. Especially with their “power” struggle.
Their date was great and I may have been a little jealous.
With J.A.’s books, I love how she doesn’t come right out and tie up all the mysteries in the first book. You will need to read the following books to get everything tied up with a pretty bow. I can’t wait for the next 2, hopefully 3, books.
I’m hooked on the Boston brothers.
I have soo many questions about what was happening at the end. No, I won’t post them. I’ll wait until the answers come out. Usually I have a clue, or an idea about what will happen. I don’t right now with this one.
I loved the EOBS also!
Jesse by JA Huss is the first book in the Bossy Brothers series and will captivate you from start to finish in this wild ride of a story. I loved the witty banter and continuous push and pull between Emma and Jesse. You see they met years ago and Emma thought they had a special connection, but then she finds out there were 3 other women who share the same heartache. Now the women decide to take revenge and so the crazy ride begins. I loved this original second chance romance and cannot wait to read more of this series.
4.5-stars. Happy reading!
I loved this story. Even though I loved this story it did take me a little longer to read however, it had nothing to do with the book its self.
We meet Jesse Boston and Emma Dumas. These two meet when they where younger and were pulled apart. Emma did not know the reason for Jesse’s disappearance at the time. Fast forward 13 years and they meet again. However, many things have changed in those years apart. For one Emma is know part of one of the richest companies in the world. Their meeting again ends in an auction and kidnapping.
Emma and Jesse still have the same chemistry they had when they were younger it is now just stronger. Jesse met his match when it comes to Emma. She is not only sassy but also very bossy. She holds her own when it comes to what she wants. She is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in and also is not afraid to take actions to make sure that it happens.
This story did throw some curves when it comes to Jesse and his family. We are introduced to some of the family history that leaves many questions unanswered. The brothers are pitted against each other and unfortunately someone most come out on the bottom.
Will Emma and Jesse get a HEA or will family secrets end it all? I can’t wait to find out more about Johnny and Joey when their stories come out.
Bossy Brothers: JESSE by JA Huss
I am voluntarily reviewing this ARC.
This story is every woman’s fantasy for every d-bag we have ever encountered. I was high fiving our heroine, Emma, throughout this, sort of second chance book. The scoundrel in question, Mr. Jesse Boston. He seduced four different women, thirteen years ago with promises and lies, then disappeared. He lied to all of them, except one. He meant every word he spoke to Emma, but still disappeared because of family crisis. Those women meet and realize they all have Jesse Boston in common and become friends, and business partners of the most successful cosmetics line in the world. Scorned and pissed, they make a plan to kidnap Jesse. Make him see that he didn’t ruin them, they are doing just fine, and maybe make him suffer, only a little bit. The problem is, as the plan unfolds, Emma remembers why she fell for him all those years ago, and maybe, isn’t over him. He is charming and open and broken, however he never forgot the one that got away, but is it to much water under the bridge for these two. This sexy, somewhat wakado, book was super fun to read. I love Emma’s strength and sass. She is just everything to me in this book. This is another great read by JA Huss.
Is there such a thing as rom-com suspense? On TV they call it a dramedy. So I’m thinking Bossy Brothers: Jesse is a rom-su-edy. There is laughter, romance, action, suspense, set against a backdrop of revenge, mystery, and a second chance romance.
Jesse was the bad-boy Boston brother. A carefree, take-no-prisoners kind of guy. He hurt women emotionally, he’d say what they wanted to hear then drop them like a hot potato and move to the next victim. Jesse’ vices of drugs, booze, and women were his response to a crazy home life. During his last big teenage fling he hit on Emma, Mila, Hannah, and Natalie. The women compared notes then joined forces and developed a successful business.
Now their idea is a mega-billion-dollar cosmetic business. For thirteen years they work to put their company on the map and resolve to get back at Jesse. Their need to make him pay for the way he treated them back in the day is still consuming their thoughts, especially Emma. The stars align when a billionaire bachelor auction put Jesse on the auction block, as they hatch a plan to give Jesse a date he won’t soon forget.
Jesse’s story starts on the lighter side, although the revenge plan is dark. Emma needs her revenge. She does! It’s just that the old Jesse keeps showing up to make her question what she is doing. Eventually, Jesse turns the tables while they both play a one-up, “I’m bossier than you” game where the fun begins. Then BAM! JA Huss uses her old tricks and slaps us smack dab in the middle of a crazy mystery/suspense tale.
I enjoyed the heck out of this story. At one point, I expected one of the Misters, Spenser or someone from Huss’ past works to show up. The mystery is unresolved because we need the other brothers to give their take on the events, but Jesse’s story has a solid for now ending. I can’t imagine where Julie plans to take the unresolved threads, but I am confident that it is going to be an exciting and bumpy journey. Bossy Brothers: Jesse is another JA Huss must read. I love it and can’t wait for Joey and Johnny to release.
Emma and Jesse’s Storm was laugh out loud in the beginning. Jesse is the misunderstood and privileged spoiled brat everyone loves to hate. That hate doesn’t come unwarranted from Emma and her friends. He used and tossed them, but there is more to it then they know. So when the opportunity to get revenge presents itself, what do they do? Kidnap him of course! Lol. JA Huss did such a good job with these characters, and the plot twists/mystery!
This is a read you won’t want to put down!
We have a funny, witty love/hate relationship between Emma and Jesse. When they come face to face he feels like maybe this could be a 2nd chance for them. I loved watching these two try to out do each other and impress each other and their antics. I was laughing out loud more then once. I was really getting into their 2nd chance at love. I am also looking forward to reading about the other brothers and their stories.
I’m still processing the book.
I love most of of it but kinda hated other parts….maybe because I don’t understand everything yet.
It was so hilarious from the beginning until mid point.
You knew there was underlying darkness and mystery.
I enjoyed the unfolding but was left utterly confused at the end.
This is a series so I’m assuming answers will be given through the books.

Can one night of revenge and an auction lead to a do over for a first date? Emma has loved Jesse since the first night they met 15 years ago. To Jesse, Emma was the one that got away. This book was fun, sexy and a little mystery thrown in. Can’t wait to see what the other Boston Boys are up to!
Enter the strangely weird and bizarre world of the Boston brothers AKA the Bossy brothers Trust me Jesse Boston is not the only the only bossy one in this romance suspense. JA Huss never ceases to capture my interest with her intricate stories and fabulous characters.
Ultimate revenge gone wrong? As their million dollar auction date plays out, Emma and Jesse turn the tables on each other so quickly and often that i got dizzy. The “oneupmanship” game between these two goes from the ridiculous to the sublime. Then it gets all too real as history starts to replay itself. They say you can’t go back again but sometimes we try anyway. The problem with that is that you may learn things that you didn’t really want to know.
What an amazing start to a new series! WHEW! JA Huss is one of my top authors, but this may be my newest favorite book!! Everything about this book is perfect! The storyline completely sucked me in! I was intrigued by the plot, but the story is so much more! The characters – I LOVE THEM!! I need all these books right now!! FIVE STARS!!
JA Huss has written another great book! I loved Emma! She cracked me up and the wonderful way she took control endures me to her. This is a great beginning to another series. It’s a bit weird and I’m
going crazy wanting to know what’s going on! Can’t wait to see where it goes.
Oh, I so hated Jesse from the first 10/20% of the book. Granted I had only one part of the story from Emma and her gals but still, he was so not cool even for a teenager. After 13 years from when Emma and her business partners were dumped by the infamous Jesse she is out for revenge: you don’t treat a girl like this without being any consequences. Now Emma and her friends have a beauty empire, they are successful and “so over him”. So over him that they plan his kidnapping to teach him a lesson :)) Oh boy, these girls cracked me up with their debauchery and the way they interact with each other. And Jesse, not a saint but not the devil either (at least for the past 5 years). Their relationship develops quiet beautifully and it can’t be any different when 2 amazing characters are part of it and there are so many laughing out loud moments. Don’t worry, you still get sexy times 😉 Enjoy!
Wow I absolutely love this story. We meet Jesse Boston and Emma Dumas. After a weekend to remember back when they were just young and dumb teenagers. Fast forward 13 years and after both of them becoming insanely rich either by family or hard work and an impromptu auction and kidnapping, have them meeting back up again.
The chemistry and back and forth banter between these two had me laughing my ass off. Jesse definitely met his match when it comes to sassy Emma. She is one pocket rocket and can definitely hold her own. This is a ‘who has it bigger and better’ game between the two of them until we are thrown the biggest twist that I would never have thought of. It threw this story on its head and gave it a super serious side. Brothers against brothers and old truths revealed.
This story gripped me and I read it in one sitting. Jesse is a solid book boyfriend and I just can’t wait get Jonathon’s and Joey’s story. Hell I even want to know Zach’s story
So listen up. I want to give it 5 stars because I finished this book 2 days ago, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it.. not because it was a cliffhanger (it really kinda wasn’t- the mystery was definitely buikt), but because I’m just itching for more. I want more of this world and more of these characters. I absolutely loved the wittiness, the mystery, and the suspense of it all, I just devoured it! I did not want to put it down.
But I feel odd about the last few chapters. I know JA Huss played it the way she did to be able to build on to the mystery in the following books of thr series, which I totally understand and TBH anything I’m say is going to sound stupid, but I just felt like I might have needed a little more to the suspense/mystery in the end. With that being said, I CANNOT WAIT for more and to see where she twists and turns this plot! It’s my favorite part of JA Huss’ stories!
I am very excited to start a new series from this author. She has a way of finishing the story and still continuing to build on it at the same time. I adored take-charge Emma and cracked up when she started snapping her fingers at Zach and handing out orders to him too. She’s my kinda girl! This was a very enjoyable read. There was humor, angst, intrigue, sex, and love. And I loved every bit of it!
BRILLIANT PERFECTION!!
Author JA Huss writes Jesse (Bossy Brothers #1) with humor, lively characters, and an amazing plot.
The story is endearingly flawed, impressive, intense, suspensefuly mysterious. A brilliant, non-stop entertaining read, which is extremely arrousing, I mean scorching hot, and captivating!
Jesse had a perfect mixture of action, suspense, mystery, and a touch of comedy among other things. The unexpected twist and turn of this highly entertaining first installment in the Bossy Brothers series, will keep you glued to the page, and on the edge of your seat until the very end.
I highly recommend this book. Can’t wait for the next one in the series!!
I truly didn’t know what to expect from Julie this time around but oh my word, was I pleasantly surprised! This story is EVERYTHING! I’m not even sure I can write a review that does it justice.
Emma is fiesta and fiery and bossy! So bossy! Jesse is intense and so very adorable. I love everything about these characters and their band of merry friends and family. I love second chance romances but this is one of these tales that has so many layers that are begging to be peeled away and with each passing chapter, I got more and more engrossed and invested.
Julie did what she does best, which is blanketing her plots with intrigue, suspense, humour and lots of steamy encounters, leading the way for even more brilliant things to come! I can’t wait to see what the other Bossy Brothers have in store for us.
