Thirteen years before Emma Dumas bought me in a bachelor auction to teach me a lesson she stole my heart down on Key West. I fell so hard for this girl I made all the promises. Only with Emma, I really meant them. And then I disappeared. But it wasn’t my fault. Let’s just call my reason “Family Business”. I’d tell you what that business is, but then I’d have to kill you. Just kidding. I can’t … is, but then I’d have to kill you. Just kidding. I can’t tell you what my family business is because it’s so secret, even I don’t know.
My point is… I didn’t ghost. It was a weird twist of circumstances. And OK, yes. I did hook up with pretty much every girl on the island that week. But after I met Emma, I was ruined. She was the only one I wanted.
It’s been thirteen years. I’m a changed man.
I STILL want her. I have ALWAYS wanted her.
But it’s kind of hard to tell her that with a gag in my mouth and a hood over my head.
Bossy Brothers: Jesse features a bachelor auction gone wrong, four smart ladies who botch a crazy revenge kidnapping, a power dream date with fast cars, private jets, and expensive yachts, lots of ex-sex, and a happily ever after that proves… sometimes the best man for the job is a woman.

Bossy Brothers are the boss! Don’t miss this story!
I had a ridiculous amount of fun reading this and I cannot wait for more Bossy Brothers!
Okay, so Jesse and Emma have history. History that Emma wants revenge over … Let the games begin!
I’m not gonna lie and tell you that some of this is a little far-fetched and OTT, because … shenanigans LOLOL However, I will say that it’s because of its OTT that this story is just plain fun! It worked. I personally found it to be a unique plot with eccentric twists. Both Jesse and Emma sparked off the pages in personality. Their banter had me eye-rolling and laughing thru most of this book. What can I say, sometimes OTT works and sometimes it doesn’t. This worked and I loved I enjoyed the heck out of it! Go forth and enjoy!
Holy Wow That was Good! Another winner from Julie!! Jesse Boston is the youngest one of three VERY RICH brothers. Emma Dumas was the girl he ghosted thirteen years ago. He didn’t mean to disappear but he can’t tell her why either..for her own safety. Now he is back and wants to reunite with the girl that got away. Too bad she has different plans for Jesse! She wants to teach him a lesson…and so does her three friends he burned too! When Jesse ends up as the Batchelor at the Billionaire Batchelor Auction, Emma knows that’s the perfect place to get her revenge. What could possibly go wrong you ask…apparently ALOT! Omg, this was a laugh out loud, sexy, enemies to lovers, Steamy romantic suspense and I need more now! I couldn’t put this down! Told in dual POV.
This might be one of the books I like the least out of all of J.A. Huss’s books. I don’t know. Just didn’t like that it started out with a felony kidnapping and drugging. It was just a crazy plot that stretched belief a little too much since it wasn’t very nice. Still, it wasn’t terrible and I enjoyed the romance AFTER that craziness.
Loved this quirky LOL romance. Steamy enough to blur the lines yet funny enough to drool for more. Loved the EOBS, too. Great job.
I love this author! I got hooked on her books at Audible and I keep listening to her books
Emma Dumas, love her name, she and her three bff’s are out for vengeance. Their victim is the gorgeous billionaire Jesse Bosse. The way they go about their revenge cracked me up because they are so unorganized!
After the revenge Emma and Jesse still have feelings for each other. This is a fast paced storyline so I can’t give too much information but you really have to listen or read this book! It’s so, so very good! Oh and the narrators are amazing
Emma and her best friends own a very successful beauty products business. They are wealthier than they could ever have imagined and live a life they used to only dream about. They are all attending a charity bachelor evening one night and once they learn who the ‘prizes’ will be they hatch a plan to seek revenge against Jesse Boston.
Jesse Boston is a player, well he was when they were all teenagers when over one summer they all fell for his smooth talking and sexy bedroom moves. Individually they had a moment with him and the last one was Emma. Emma was so into Jesse that summer and she truly fell for him, only to be left heartbroken when he simply disappeared.
The girls have been waiting years to get their revenge so winning him at the auction will guarantee them all a private audience with him. Poor Jesse has no idea what he is in for! Emma is feeling a bit conflicted about seeking revenge, she still harbours feelings for him but she has to do what they all agreed on.
After the revenge is dished out, Jesse insists on having his date with Emma. She was never just another notch in his belt. He remembers everything about that summer and he plans to show her just what she has been missing since he last saw her.
This is the first story in the Bossy Boys series and I listened to the audio version which was narrated by Ava Erickson & Teddy Hamilton.
A highly entertaining and interesting story. I devoured this book and enjoyed every second of it.
If this book was written with the main roles reversed we’d all be screaming about how wrong it is. So I am screaming at how wrong it is this way. Its ridiculous, illegal, immoral, obnoxious and glorifies kidnapping, drugging and rape. So this was not for me. They were both immature idiots.
Wild ride from start to finish ! I really enjoyed this book.
Ahhhh. Back into the confusing minefield of a JA Huss series that slowly unveils it myself book by book while adding more suspense as you go.
Jesse is great! That is all. Troubled youth. Stand up man who is as human and real as you can find.
Emma is bossy! She had an insane plan. Insane I say! But it brings her back in time to 13 years earlier. Reliving those moments in time changes her entire demeanor. The girl next door becomes the bossy, one-upping, determined woman. She is his match and she will fight for him!
I had to take mental notes and re-read sections that may be important for coming books. But at the end of Jesse I had two thoughts. One-WTH?! Two-Go Emma!!
The narration was great!
Jesse and Emma are both so unexpected and endearing. I love how their story starts out surrounding one situation from their past and reels me into another side of the story that revolves around something that does more than pique my curiosity. Hang on tight cause this is one wild ride.
I really just don’t even know how to sum up this book. JA Huss never disappoints. I was completely sucked into this crazy ass story. It was funny, cute, and a little bit dark and mysterious. I was completely in love with Jesse and I was very enamored by his two brothers Joey and especially Johnny.
Jesse is the first book in the Bossy Brothers series. It follows the youngest Boston brother as his one night stands from 13 years ago kidnap and drug him to get revenge from on him. Emma and her three best friends met at a bar and found out they all slept with the same guy who made all these promises to them after having a one night stand and bailed on them. Together they form a cosmetics company and become success stories. The only problem is that Emma hasn’t gotten over that one night stand and talks her friends into getting revenge. So, they decide to buy him at an auction, kidnap, drug, and act out their revenge on him. The only problem with that is that Emma still has feelings and things get a little tricky when Jesse acts his revenge for all the things she done.
So I really ended up enjoying this book by the end. It was a crazy, messed up story, but I couldn’t help but laugh at Jesse and Emma’s antics. I’m not gonna lie, I thought Emma was really pathetic and her attempts to one-up Jesse created some funny power plays between the two. There were some really sweet moments between Jesse and Emma. As much as they tried to get revenge on one another, they both let down their guard without noticing and exposed their true selves to one another. It was really sweet to see because they shared personal and vulnerable moments with each other without realizing it. I was also very intrigued by the other brothers and Zach. I kinda loved Zach even though he’s not in the book that much, but I liked his close relationship with his cousin Jesse, and how Jesse took care of him. I can’t help it I loved Jesse. The man tried so hard to get back at Emma, but I loved the fact that he didn’t care all that much, he knew that Emma was the one. Jesse’s emotions are raw and real and I loved that. He didn’t lie to himself when it came to Emma and you could feel the happiness he felt from his time spent with her. Not to mention he is hot as hell and the foreplay was off the charts.
The only reason this book is not 5 stars is because I couldn’t help thinking how pitiful Emma was and how stupid her plan was. I mean these are grown ass women who are exacting revenge on a guy who fucked them once, said a bunch of nice things, and never talked to them again. So what? It was 13 years ago. Their plan was to kidnap, drug him, tie him up, and do what exactly? They didn’t think about it until after the fact that they might go to jail because they were committing a crime. I didn’t like the fact that Emma thought she was too good for Jesse because she owned her own company, had tons of money, and could buy expensive things. That was pathetic to me because Jesse is rich as well, so why would those things prove that she is too good for him. I mean she bought a huracan to outdo him and make a power play like a guy or something. It was so dumb. Lastly, as much as she was trying to get revenge on Jesse, she truly wanted to know if everything that happened between them was a lie, and when Jesse was being honest and real with her, she questioned it the whole time. That’s one of my pet peeves.
So all in all, I ended up really enjoying this book. I was surprised how quickly I read this book. By the end I ended up liking Emma because she finally accepted him and was real. She had his back and I really liked that. I loved Jesse even when he was being an ass, because as much as he wanted to get revenge for what Emma did to him, he couldn’t help how much he wanted to be with her. Even though I was a little annoyed with Emma, it didn’t hinder my enjoyment of this book. The end was really good. It left a lot of suspense that I’m dying to know and understand. The Boston family has got some skeletons in their closet and I’m so curious about the rest of this family. JA Huss does not disappint.
OMG. OMFG. WTF? This ending man. LOL. This is the best book. This one seemed like it was going to be a little more light romcon but then there is some creepy weird stuff in the end which I can’t reveal because obviously I don’t want to spoil it. But it’s one of those “JA Huss things” and it worked it’s way in. I can’t wait for the audio on the next book.
First of all, I love a good enemies-to-lovers book. One of my favorite genres! Second, I always get excited when JA Huss starts a new series! This one starts out kinda light and funny, but you just know, as a fan of hers, that it’s gonna get really real pretty soon. And it does. I cannot wait to dive into the rest of the books about these brothers and find out what is going on in that building!!!
Absolutely loved it. Jesse is a douche, rich, arrogant, no clue and hit rock bottom several years ago. He’s suckered into a bachelor auction for his brother Joey and sparks fly when Emma bids on him, a lot of money, but why. Emma is the girl he left behind but doesn’t recognize her, she recognizes him though. I love the overall concept of “bossy” and it’s so entertaining to see them try and one up each other, it’s hilarious. I loved Key West but the absolute best part was his voicemail though, total swoon worthy.
I can’t read to read the next one in this series. Highly recommend this series and J.A. Huss.
Rabbit holes abound in this one! Julie takes you in, makes you smile, makes you laugh out of your chair and then she throws for this huge loop and you have a stomach drop! It starts as a story of teenage love/lust that ends badly and a revenge plot served up in an ice block!
Just when you envision someone going to jail, she flips you with blackmail then turns into a swoony love story. But, it ain’t over yet. Then you get the drop. The fearful moments that make you wonder who the hell are these people? Yeah, like that.
Just when you think you are figuring it out, nope, you are wrong!
I have had stories lead me through a hall of mirrors but none like this. I so freaking loved it! Julie Huss, you are amazing. Excuse me while I go chase more rabbits with Joey.
Going for a Ride…
I loved this book! I love how JA Huss takes you for a ride in her books. So buckle up and hold on! This is going to be FUN!
I loved the characters and the notion of revenge for an encounter that could have been more for Emma and Jesse, but his drug/alcohol addiction and father’s death cut their time together short. Who waits for 13 years to get retribution for having been dumped and also having sex with several other young women who went on to incredible success. They both have baggage enough to fill several freight trains!
This is such a fun book to read and then we get a mystery towards the end that is very intriguing and I want to know more! Emma and her business partners are such a great group of ladies. They are smart, successful, loving and loyal to each other no matter what. These 4 ladies first met 13 years ago at a bar and found that they all had something in common – they all had knew Jesse Boston for a night!
Thirteen years later, the 4 ladies have created a very successful cosmetic company and are very successful. They decide to get jesse Boston back for what he did to them and Emma especially wanted some kind of closure! The adventure begins but nothing goes as plan when they are the auction which is hilarious. When Emma gets her “date” with Jesse, this is when everything just goes crazy. The two of them are so funny and there is a lot of chemistry between these 2 individuals.
Their ensuing adventure, which started out with each trying to one up the other, ends up with both of them getting to know each other and their past better while enjoying their adventure. But something comes up and Jesse feels that in order to protect Emma, he needs to not be with her but she’s not having that. Emma takes charge and they start to find out more of what is going on with Jesse’s family and the Boston’s very confusing and sordid past.
I love that the heroine and her friends are strong women who is not dependent on anything or anyone for their success. I love how Emma can take charge and make decisions in her relationship with Jesse and even though Jesse is a strong male, he is not afraid of Emma’s success. I can’t wait for the next Bossy Brother’s book to find out more about the Boston’s family history!
