From New York Times Bestseller, Vi Keeland, comes a sexy new standalone novel.
The first time I met Chase Parker, I didn’t exactly make a good impression.
I was hiding in the bathroom hallway of a restaurant, leaving a message for my best friend to save me from my awful date.
He overheard and told me I was a bitch, then proceeded to offer me some dating advice.
So I told him to mind his own … advice.
So I told him to mind his own damn business―his own tall, gorgeous, full-of-himself damn business―and went back to my miserable date.
When he walked by my table, he smirked, and I watched his arrogant, sexy ass walk back to his date.
I couldn’t help but sneak hidden glances at the condescending jerk on the other side of the room. Of course, he caught me on more than one occasion, and winked.
When the gorgeous stranger and his equally hot date suddenly appeared at our table, I thought he was going to rat me out.
But instead, he pretended we knew each other and joined us―telling elaborate, embarrassing stories about our fake childhood.
My date suddenly went from boring to bizarrely exciting.
When it was over and we parted ways, I thought about him more than I would ever admit, even though I knew I’d never see him again.
I mean, what were the chances I’d run into him again in a city with eight million people? Then again…
What were the chances a month later he’d wind up being my new sexy boss?

Expected this to be a light sexy read, but it was much more than that. The characters were well developed and their backstories were interesting. While I liked Reese, l really liked Chase in all his sexy, funny, tortured glory. I listened to the audible version and the narration was spot on.
Well I’m not sure where to start with this book….All I really want to say is I Wish my boss was Chase Parker, and chased after me with the determination and sexy talk like chase did to Reece but unfortunately that’s not likely for me, but this was the best book to make this fantasy amazing and everything I wished for.
If you want a book to make you laugh, get frustrated and make you happy the this the one for you.
Absolutely loved this deserves its 5 Stars and Vi Keeland is an amazing author who I now see is at #1 on the New York Times Best Sellers List what an amazing achievement and just proves that the Indie authors we love can achieve anything love all you guys 🙂
Well I have to honestly say I don’t read office romances anymore but this book by Vi Keeland, you just can’t not read 🙂 loved it from beginning until end. although for me it was a slow start but it picked up nicely. I really loved the interaction and banter between Reese and Chase. Who wouldn’t be charmed with Chase 🙂 Definitely a great enjoyable read.
And on a side-note, I hope we get Jules and Christian’s story….
I can Not express how much I loved this book!!! #ChaseIsCocky #ApparentlyCockyReallyWorksForMe. Chase is everything you can ask for. Confident, sexy, dominant, swoon worthy, funny and so much more. Reese was strong, funny and perfect. This story draws you in from the first paragraph and leaves you wanting for more with the last sentence. Vi Keeland is an amazing storyteller and knocks another one out of the park. A must read!!
Bossman was absolutely amazing and definitely one of my favorite new books I’ve read so far this year! I immediately fell in love with Chase and Reese and their story, and couldn’t have asked for better main characters. They were truly awesome, especially together, and I loved their personalities and chemistry with one another. I also loved how their relationship progressed in this book, and their banter and conversations with each other were always interesting and entertaining. I truly loved reading every single page of Bossman, and I especially loved that Chase and Reese’s story was told from both of their POV. Most of it was from Reese’s, but I also loved getting to read several chapters from Chase’s as well. He was a piece of work at times, but also had a sweet, thoughtful, and yes, dirty side to him. 😉 Chase Parker has definitely been my favorite book boyfriend of the year so far, and I’m not sure any other’s will be able to top him. He was just about perfect, and so was Reese.
Most of the secondary characters were wonderful as well, and they definitely made the book extra interesting and entertaining to read. I really loved and enjoyed Vi Keeland’s writing style, and thought she did an excellent job with Chase and Reese’s story. She had a perfect balance of humor, romance, drama, and everything in between, and I couldn’t have asked for a better or more perfect contemporary romance novel.
The epilogue was absolutely perfect, especially for Chase and Reese, and had me smiling from ear to ear. I was deliriously happy with the conclusion, but I was actually really disappointed when I finished Bossman because I wanted to continue reading even more about Chase and Reese. Their story was definitely memorable and one of my top favorites I’ve ever read. I would highly recommend Bossman to everyone and anyone who enjoys a fantastic and excellently written contemporary romance. I am honestly in love with Vi Keeland’s novels, and I will certainly be reading more from her in the future!
Holy moly cow I loved this book so, so, so much! It left me with a big ole chessy grin on my face.
Chase is ah-mazing. He amused the hell out of me. I really enjoyed Resse, especially them bantering back and forth. They give good banter.
I thought the story line is great, the friends are great, the pace is great. This book just had all kinds of greatness for me. I freakin’ loved it! I’m still smiling about it while I write my review! *happy sigh* I must have this book for my bookshelf.
Loved it. Nuff said.
Is there love at first sight? It could be debatable.
Is there love from the FIRST chapter of a book? ABSOLUTELY!
That’s how I feel with this book. At the end of the first chapter I already loved Chase. By the end of chapter 2 I had no choice and I was completely delighted with him. I had no choice. And that had never happened to me with another H, that is, from the first chapter? No.
The plot although it is not new, it is not boring or trite. The characters, both main and secondary, please you and are unique in their styles. The chemistry between Reese and Chase was out of this world. Vi Keeland knows how to take the story to a good rhythm, in which you can’t stop reading. I think it’s one of those books that has everything you need to be a reading that you’ll remember.
The story starts with soon-to-be jodless Reese Annesley calling her BFF on the phone, asking her to save her with a fake emergency phone call whike she was on a boring datd with a guy named Martin. And then… One gorgeous guy overheard her convo and thrown flak on her phone trick. Not a good impression considering that guy was oozing with sex appeal.
Surprise, surprise. Said gorgeous guy sat on her table with a blonde in tow, and soon, Reese’s boring twosome became one heck of a double date. And soon, the delicious man named Chase Parker and his insanely awesome made-up stories became legendary. Totally insane, I tell you!
It won’t be long until he encountered Mr. Parker again, this time in a gym while she was going out with Bryant, and her “middle school friend ” became her long lost cousin, twice removed. Chase and his impossibly believable stories surely had me laughing like a baboon howling at the moon.
Remember Reese’s almost out of job status? Well, well, well.. Not for long.. Luck was on her side as she found her way to Parker Industries, a company specializing at products for women’s intimate needs. And guess who was gonna be her boss? Yep, none other than Chase Parker himself, and man, what a tingling, titillating and tantalizing (trouble), er.. work she was gonna be in.
What happened next, was a big cat-and-mouse chase, with libidos running high, sexual tension getting frustrated by the minute and extremely agitating self-control on Reese’s part. Gosh, I couldn’t help but admire this girl’s guts, dodging Chase Parker like that in favor of Bryant. Oh I love her for not succumbing to temptation while she was still dating another man. See, there’s no cheating involved in their love triangle right? Way to go Reese! You are one fiery, sexy and smart lady and I love you already!
But we all know the inevitable was imminent, one way or another. Soon Reese would act upon her desire (secret, secret!) and all hell would break loose with Chase Parker and this totally charismatic reader (yours truly, ahem) became totally bonkers. Woah!
I can’t fully divulge the whole story.. But one thing’s for sure. Bossman was a terrific and devastatingly delectable read. Never had I encountered a male lead who was not only ruggedly handsome, intelligent boss, but also impressively patient, caring and unexpectedly broken man. His past with Peyton caught up with him, turning this hot and sexy read into an impossibly heartbreaking story in the end. A story that made me say, “Chase, oh Chase… Come to mama and let me hug you babe”.
Yep, I went totally bonkers, I tell you. This is my very first Vi Keeland book, and I want to punch myself for not discovering her soon. I knew I remember Colleen Hoover highly recommending Keeland’s Cocky Bastard, I was just too darn stubborn to read it at that time. Now I have to read all of Keeland’s books from now on! She had me laughing and rolling on the floor and crying like a baby in a short span of time. Lady, that’s one heck of an accomplishment to me. Thank you!
This book was absolutely amazing. I love the characters and background story. Vi Keeland’s characters are so funny, witty, sexy and strong. They can make you laugh and cry at the very same time. Another amazing book.
Very good and entertaining read. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, romance and characters. The plot wasn’t terribly deep or complicated but it was a romantic escape from life.
This is one of those instances where I wanted to see what all the hype was about regarding a book. I love workplace/office romances. I loved Vi Keeland’s book We Shouldn’tWe Shouldn’t and that was an office romance. Also, I see the high almost 5-star reviews here, even some from my Goodreads friends. All of that adds to the shock value I faced when I started reading this book. I almost DNF’d it but forced myself to continue because I figured there had to be something profound that happens to change my mind about it, however that never happened.
I found myself bored throughout the entire book and surprised at how flat the characters were, typical and cliche this plot was. Books like this are why I originally used to not want to read romance novels. The cheesiness factor of it all didn’t appeal to me. I felt like this book was throwing up every romance trope on me as humanly possible.
If I listed every reason, I’d have to mark this review with a spoiler so I won’t discuss anything that would be considered one.
I thought I was going into a sexy, fun office romance with witty banter. Instead, in the beginning of the book once Chase Parker, CEO of Parker Industries, millionaire and tech genius acts like a pathetic loser and chases after the heroine, Reese. Reese and Chase meet exactly how the blurb describes. I was just expecting this really hot, sexy, confident man based on the blurb and instead, Chase is kind of nerdy, pathetic and in my opinion chases after her way to much. Ugh.
One of my biggest pet peeves in a romance novel is when the hero chases around the heroine desperately. This is where I admittedly have a double standard because I LOVE books where the heroine chases the hero. My favorite books are those where the heroine has to fight for the hero’s love, enemies to lovers or hero hates heroine. That being said, I’m sure some people out there read this and loved it because of how much Chase ran around begging Reese to give him a chance. This is where I think a lot of READERS have a double standard because I read a lot of reviews for The Monster by LJ Shen recently where the negative reviews discussed how the heroine didn’t have enough of a backbone. In general, I see negative reviews people write about “weak” or “pathetic” heroines. Honestly, that makes me want to read a book more.
You guys, this CEO Chase was trying to hard I was getting so angry as I was reading this screaming at my kindle “just sleep with him you bi***!” lol it’s funny but this book was the cause of a day and a half of anger and frustration.
There are a few other tropes that I despise in this book. Then the end was so dragged on when we knew what would happen. It was an hour of wasted reading time. This book was the epitome of everything I dislike in a romance novel aside from a fade to black scene because this book had actual sex scenes which were subpar at best.
LOVED IT!!!
This was a great story about how you always need to live in the present, not the past.
It was both heartbreak and beautiful.
BOSSMAN by Vi Keeland
This is a entertaining story about Chase and Reese. They meet when she is on a date gone bad and he calls her out for trying to get a friend to rescue call her. He shows up at the table with her date with his to act like he has a history with Reese. He spins a wild tale for the date. Imagine her surprise to find he is the owner of the company that she is interviewing for. This is a romcom that has plenty of sexual exploits and plenty of twists and turns. I give this 4 stars.
I remember reading this one on the Chapters app. The book is better than that. This was a work of art.
Holy cow!! Loved this book. I could not put it down.
Chase and Reese’s relationship is sexy, sweet and addicting. Their personal tragedies have affected each of them to be tentative and shy about committed relationships. In the beginning, Chase starts out expressing his blatant sexual desires for Reese and Reese declares she needs to keep a professional distance from her boss. As they spend time together in and out of the office, they can’t seem to keep their hearts from getting involved.
There are some rules, funny interactions, sexy times and some bumps on their journey. Definitely worth the ride. Don’t miss this one! It will be going on my read again and again list.
Wow What an Incredible Story.
I thoroughly,thoroughly enjoyed Boss Man.
Chase and Reese blew my mind with their romance, they were super sexy, sweet and adorable and they were destined for eachother.
I Love the way Vi Keeland writes her stories, they are always so much more than a simple boy meets girl romance. There is so much depth and emotion behind each character, and both Chase and Reese had experienced traumatic events in their pasts. So their connection was so much more than a sexual one…Chase is super Hot the things that man says and does made me weak in the knees..lol..
I relished this book chapter by chapter it was unputdownable….it intrigued me and I couldn’t stop reading until the end.
An Excellent read about Love,Loss overcoming fear of what if’s and having the courage to love and move on, to live for today and leave the past behind and to forgive yourself from blame for other peoples actions and for things you could not control.
Loved it to pieces.
Magnificent 5 Stars
h: Reese
H: Chase
(Dual POVs)
I loved the way these two met! So interesting and original! I couldn’t get enough of Chase’s unwavering flirtation and charm! This book is so much more than an office romance. It took a few turns that I did not see coming and I absolutely loved the unpredictability! My heart hurt so much for Chase when he was struggling I couldn’t be happier that these two were able to move forward from their pasts and give in to the overwhelming feelings they had for each other. That epilogue though so stinkin’ cute!
Favorite quotes:
“Nothing to be jealous about.” I leaned in. “My vibrator and I have already enjoyed a vivid three-way with you.” -Reese
“We’re really doing this, huh? Going to be a couple out in the open with my long-lost, middle school, second-cousin boyfriend who is also the bossman?” -Reese
”You know the worst part of this? You were the first person who’d made me feel safe since I was a kid.” -Reese
An emotionally beautiful, romantic story. Chase and Reese has scorching hot chemistry added with a sweet, and fun friendship.
How did I not read this book? I love this authors writing. Chase is the true Bossman.
I was hooked from the first chapter and I couldn’t put it down. A fabulous book which was humorous but also had a serious side to it as well. Reece and Chase are perfectly matched in and out of the office!! You will love it!
