Lord almighty, Tia Louise writes the most amazing men. Patton is hard, he’s aloft and kind of a jerk. His employees refer to him as the devil and while this all might be true. Meeting Raquel was just what he needed to loosen up. Occasionally, meeting one single person can change anothers life for the better. Raquel changed Patton’s life; even then, Patton changed Raquel’s. Let me just say, Boss of Me was HAWT! Like insanely how! It has to be Tia Louise’s sexiest, hottest book she has ever written. These two had amazing chemistry that felt alive between them.
I love every single letter that Tia Louise wrote in Boss of Me. She writes to my heart and it just sticks with me. I’m always so endeared to the way Mrs. Louise creates her characters. With Patton, we get to know him and we dive right into a traumatizing part of his life, the time he was in the military. The outcome of that former life still lives solely on his shoulders. I was deeply invested into this story… into Patton and Raquel’s story and their lives. I enjoyed the secondary characters so very much!! I would love to know so much more about Patton’s friends.
What pulls me into every single one of Tia Louise’s books is her name on the cover… her name. Every time though, I fall for her characters and her fluid writing. I love the way this book has a huge range of emotions. It’s a serious up and down on the feelings scale. The ups and down was specked with banter and lightness that the heavy, darkness needed. You can’t even go wrong with Tia Louise when her name is on a cover and Boss of Me is no different! It’s a gem!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
Starts with Patton 7 years in the past in a jungle south of the border with Taron and Sawyer on a mission to save a fellow marine. Marley was kidnapped and they rescued him. Then it goes to the present with Raquel talking on the phone to her sister Renee. Raquel ends up working at Fletcher International, Inc and Patton is her boss. Love how the story goes and ends! I recommend this book!!!!!
Hard to keep up with all the guys names at times. You dont really get to much back story on Patton you know more about Marley and Raquel. The secrets dont come till the end.
Marine buddies Patton (George) Fletcher AKA The Devil ,Taron Rhodes ,Jerry Buckingham and Swayer D’Artagnan and Marley aka Martian Randall became brothers serving together going through one of the roughest battles and memories they can’t run from.
Patton took over his fathers business Fletcher International after serving he got handed the reins. He took it and kept his brothers in arms by his side. Swayer left to build a peach farm he wanted peace. Taron’s barely holding on and Marley is so far gone he cant even escape the memory that terrify him. Patton is the only one who isnt living in the past. He’s cold he wants to prove he’s better than his dad but also still trying to keep his men safe. Him keeping them safe is coming with a cost. He might lose everything protecting his men.
Raquel Morgan aka Rocky is Renee’s sister she once worked at Fletcher Inc. she left and never said why and had a break down. Her sis still hasn’t told her what happened but is telling her sis to beware of the boys club. She’s lost everything but still keeps fighting for what she wants. When she meets the Devil himself she loves pushing his buttons shes not backing down
“We’re all worse on the inside. We saved our man,but we’re all scarred by what we left behind.”
“Patton Fletcher is a devil. He’s not the devil, but he’s definitely one of them.”
“These nightmares don’t end”
“What makes her special?”
“I can’t help it. I’ve never the devil.”
“Your eyes…”
“They were the first ting that captured me.”
“Rain feels good during tough times”
“You’re with me.Go back to sleep.”I’ll keep you safe”
“All I can think is if this is wrong. if he’s the devil, then takeme to hell. I’ll go willingly”
“I didn’t protect my chin.”
“I thought you might need backup, I’m pretty good in a fight.”
This forbidden office romance was so intoxicating! It started with Patton and his friends caught up in a heart-pounding, and tragic event that left them scared and broken, never to be the same. In present time, Patton still feels responsible and fiercely protective of them all. This along with the pressure of expanding his business has made him surly, and demanding. Raquel Morgan was a top graduate in her class and has landed a coveted position with his firm. Her sister, Renee, worked for them years ago, leaving abruptly, and warns Raquel to be on guard. But Raquel is a fighter, and she won’t let the pushy Boss run over her. The attraction is instant between them. Patton loves how she challenges him, and Raquel has never had such a primitive reaction to a man. I was totally seduced by the sexual tension between Patton and Raquel and the exchange of power they both fought to control. Their attraction was magnetic and their chemistry so explosive they couldn’t stay away from each other. I loved how she made him want to live again, and he opened her up to a world of possibilities. But in a world of power, and money, it is important to watch your back. When secrets are revealed it could not only bring down a company, but could tear Patton and Raquel apart, breaking both their hearts. This story touched on so many emotional and raw topics with honesty and empathy. I was moved by these flawed characters, I cared for them and cheered for their HEA. I especially loved the epilogue and how swoony Patton was. I really enjoyed this engaging, poignant, and steamy romance!
Patton and his friends had lived through so much in military. Once they got stateside, Patton wanted to help them. He got them jobs and tried his best to help. Raquel gets hired one day at her dream job and she’s so excited. She knows Patton won’t be easy to work for but she wants this job. Can they get along? Can they ignore attraction they both feel?
Boss of Me is a great standalone enemies to lovers/ office romance. I loved it. I loved Raquel aka Rocky. She was feisty and tough and never gave up! Patton, a former Marine was broody, bossy, swoony alpha male. The chemistry and passion between Patton and Rocky was off the charts. I loved loved them together! I am hoping a few of the secondary characters will be getting books!
I promise you’ve never read an office romance like this. Yes, it’s smart and sexy. Yes, there’s some sneaking around. But there’s so much more going on. Secrets, emotions, interesting secondary characters and slimy coworkers kept me turning the pages. Patton’s backstory drew me in as much as his sexiness. Raquel was equally awesome. Tia started a whole new world with new characters and she nailed it!
Patton Fletcher is the devil, but he’s also the boss. When Raquel (aka Rocky) starts her new job she is warned to stay away from her boss, but what happens when the devil lures her in?
I LOVED every single moment of this book. There was so much more to this book than it just being an office romance. Patton comes from a military background, but after things went south he took over his fathers company. He runs things a certain way and he feels responsible for his brothers. Raquel graduated top of her class, reading to start her life in corporate America. She wants to be there for his sister, wants to make sure her sister is okay.
I loved the chemistry between Patton and Raquel. There was an instant connection with those two and it just continued to grow and grow. Patton is an intense man and he seemed a little lost when it came to his feelings. I loved that Raquel tried to listen to the warnings, tried to ignore and fight the attraction she had for Patton.
Boss of Me is full of steam, romance and emotion. This isn’t your average office romance, there is a lot of depth to the story and to the characters that will draw you into their lives and to their stories and for the secondary characters will leave you wanting to know more about them.
Boss of Me is a MUST READ and definitely one of my favorites for 2019.
I suppose I’m having an off day because I found this book to be…average I guess is the best word. I felt the chemistry but wasn’t WOWed with the plot of the story. It had so much potential and just never got there for me.
The parts what I did like;
I liked Pattons dedication to his friends. He knows they are both struggling and wants to help them even when those methods are a bit strange to me. Raquel was a firecracker. She was smart and driven and knew how to stand up for herself.
Maybe if I’d read this at any other time in my life I’d be fall hard for these characters but now I’m giving it 3.5*!!!

Where you begin, I end…
Sometimes it takes a good fall to really know where you stand. I believe this phrase perfectly describes the relationship between Patton Fletcher and Raquel “Rocky” Morgan.
Patton is the head of the family business Fletcher International. He has the reputation of being roughshod over his employees when he believes they are not pulling their weight. His staff call him “The Devil” and he lives up to that name. What no one realizes is that he is very much a broken man with memories from being in the military. They haunt him relentlessly. In military terms he and his brothers in arms experienced a “soup sandwich” which means a mission that went horribly wrong. He has spent all his efforts in trying to make up for this by protecting and taking care of his military buddies ever since.
Then we have Raquel Morgan. The nickname “Rocky” describes her to a “T”. She is smart, feisty and strong. With her newly acquired MBA in her pocket she joins Fletcher International. She dismisses her sister Renee’s advice to not “fall” for Patton. Watching Raquel and Patton square off was a delight to read. Raquel brings out the “gooey” cream center of Patton’s heart to the surface. She is the soft to his hard.
My heart went out for this couple as I found myself in the cheering section willing that they have a HEA. There are a few twists and surprises along the way but you need to read this to experience the whole journey.
Enemies to lovers, office romance, great characters.
This was a good read with a perfect balance of hotness, story line and leads to a hea.
Patton Fletcher is an intense broody hero, a retired soldier who is used to not only bossing people around but watching over those in his care. I guess even though he has now left the forces he can’t switch off and has an intense constant worry for his friend Marley who he and his team rescued when he was taken and held hostage while serving in the forces and Marley hasn’t been the same since, most of the plot focuses on Marley. To be honest I was more intrigued about Marley, he had more going on in regards to angst and drama and I would be really interested in reading his story.
Raquel was the new hire in his office, she was clever, extremely intelligent but at the same time didn’t come across as a nerd, she was likeable but not exciting. There was instant chemistry between the two but the push and pull didn’t last long at all, so I wouldn’t really class this as an enemies lovers story as I know it but it was good and entertaining.
Boss of me was a romance that had a little angst, a good plot, hotness and a heartwarming hea.
Holy wowza, if ever there was a “sexy devil”, Patton Fletcher would be it. You could also add cranky, bossy, and frowny (is that a word? For him it is). He’s also a little broken, very loyal, and has a heart of gold. Let’s not forget hot & sexy as all get out. In walks Raquel, a surprise to him. She’s young, beautiful, extremely intelligent, and quite a bit of fight to her. There’s instant chemistry between them, even through his crankiness and comments. She proves herself quite early on, and manages to break down his walls, even with so many things going on. I loved this book, I loved these characters, and I loved the feels throughout. This is a must have!
Sexy as sin. Tia’s books are always so HOT! Boss Of Me is all the things! Angsty and sweet with a broody alphahole brought to his knees by a spitfire heroine. Towards the end I didn’t think it could get any better… one word: epilogue. I cried my eyes out in the best way! A definite must read!
Oh, that cover…I could stare at it all day! Boss Of Me is a sexy, smoldering romance that burns with chemistry right off the pages. Boss Of Me is not part of a series, but it does interconnect with some of Tia’s other novels which makes it fun to find those easter eggs if you are familiar with her other works, but also doesn’t make it necessary to have read them prior to the release of this book.
Patton is a former marine now running the family business, Fletcher International. The motto of “never leave a man behind” is something he stands behind and something that he has a hard time letting go of even in the business world. His former marine teammates currently work with him and sometimes he is so driven and committed to protecting those in his close circle that he is blind to the rest of the world around him. That is until Raquel “Rocky” Morgan starts working there.
Raquel finally opens Patton’s eyes and his heart to a world he has been missing. For the first time Patton finds a reason to smile. Raquel is smart, confident, beautiful, and a fighter. Everything he needs and never knew he wanted. If only he could keep her once she finds out the secret he’s keeping.
Raquel began working at Fletcher International with the warning, beware, Patton Fletcher is the devil. Of all God’s angels the devil was the most beautiful one and Patton fits every description she could ever imagine that fallen angel to be. He also doesn’t seem to like her. A constant scowl on his face whenever she is present, but that doesn’t stop her from trying her best. She didn’t earn the nickname Rocky for nothing. She is a fighter and she never gives up.
The more time they spend together, the more Raquel realizes that the description of Patton being the devil must be true. He has bewitched her, woven his way into her heart and she is unsure of how to stop it. She likes her job and doesn’t want anyone to think she’s using him to climb her way to the top. Falling for the boss was never on her agenda, but what do you do when you want your career and the man that comes with it?
When things turn dicey at work can Patton and Raquel still work together as well as they work in the bedroom or will secrets and conflict rip them apart?
Boss Of Me had so much potential, but a few times I felt the lack of flow in the story. There is a coworker who blatantly harasses Raquel and yes, we are in the #MeToo era and things can go too much the opposite way. So while I respect that Raquel wanted to do her job and prove herself on her own merit, the way that particular part of the story played out (I don’t want to spoil the plot) I felt it could have been handled better. I loved the romance between Patton and Raquel and the other characters gave the story great color, but everytime this particular plotline came in it felt off. That’s the only way I can describe it.
The interconnections with other books was great and I enjoyed that immensely and the two main characters have intense chemistry. If you enjoy workplace romances, this will be a book to add to your TBR!
Raquel/Rocky and Patton… their story is breathtaking from the very first page on, thrilling and panty melting hot!
I loved all characters, side and main characters, for being crafted very detailed and vivid. I expected them to step out of this book at any moment.
They seem so real when they question every thought they have and what they feel for each other. Both are extremly caring and protectiv of their loved ones and that makes them even more relatable and profound.
The plot is twisted and fast-paced with some unexpected bumps that keep the tension on a high level.
I loved every single moment I spent with this dream couple and did not want this fantastic book to end.
This is my third ARC from the Author. I’ve read Make Me Yours and Stay and enjoyed reading them so much… so I know from the outset that I will enjoy reading this book as well.
It’s an enemies to lovers and office romance… it’s very sexy and swoony. If you’ve been following my blog, you’d know that I’m not really a big fan of fast-paced romance. Call me old-fashion, but I like courtship and build-up. I’m too anxious and guarded to be in a whirlwind romance… but of course, you can’t help it if you’re being pulled into someone’s orbit. That feeling of excitement and that adrenaline rush when you see that certain someone… feelings are feelings. It can be very relentless. So while I’m not a fan of those, the author makes it work… so far Patton and Raquel are my favorite Tia Louise couple!
I was so eager to know what happens next—excitedly turning page after page, and if I hadn’t been sick and hadn’t been taking meds, I would devoured this one overnight.
The book centers on love and brotherhood and dealing with PTSD and substance abuse.
If you’re a fan of Melanie Harlow, Corinne Michaels and Rebecca Yarros, then this is the book to pick up next!
Boss of Me was such an enjoyable read! This sexy and steamy romance between Rocky and Patton was packed with plenty of emotion, angst, drama, and steam that kept me hooked until the very end.
These two characters just had that chemistry that couldn’t be denied, even when they tried to keep things professional after that first, super hot kiss. Patton just couldn’t help himself and just wanted to be around her more and more. And Rocky felt the same way. She had been warned by her sister about not wanting to fall for the devil, but after all the time they spent together, it was inevitable. As far as the ending, I was a little surprised at how quickly everything wrapped up. It just seemed to move a little fast for me. Don’t get me wrong, I still really, really enjoyed the book – and I can’t wait to see what Tia Louise comes up with next!
Boss of Me is a workplace, enemies to lovers, military romance that burns slow and burns in so good. Raquel Morgan is fresh out of Vanderbilt and already landed her first post grad job at the prestigious Fletcher International in Nashville. Patton may be the devil but when her took over for his father he turned it from a commercial real estate firm to one the top tech based companies. When Raquel enters the picture, he’s cold and indifferent to her. But soon the ride starts to change and their banter gets interesting. I loved this book so much. I loved all the secondary characters and I do hope that two in particular get to tell their story.
Wow I absolutely love Tia’s Books ,but this book had me hooked from the first page and Its a stand alone and hot damn its enemies at work turn out to lovers and more. I’m absolutely grateful to read Tia’s Arc of Boss of Me and I can’t wait for more from her and please can she write books for the other men in this book? Lol
Now back work at his father’s company Patton Fletcher finds himself attractive to the new hire ,but she doesn’t give him a chance and gives him attitude.both.
Raquel starts her new job but her new boss is sexy but is a jerk . When things go wrong can she help her boss or will she regret ever working for him.
This book was absolutely fantastic and Tia has done it once again and let me say that you will absolutely fall in love with this book and the storyline flowed and the characters were absolutely awesome. I found myself laughing and crying and wanting to kick a few butts in this book.
Raquel is just brilliant!!
I’ve been dying for this book since it was first announced. I’m a big fan of this author and whatever she does I luv no matter what it is. When I found out a bit more about the book and Patton I knew he was goin to be a brilliant character. But God can this guy be frustrating at time. He hasnt had it easy the militarily didn’t really go the way he had planned things happened that were hard to undone. But he is a leader and he will alway make sure is team is ok even if they don’t need his help or guidance. His friends and ex militarily team have alway been close growing up together made there connection so strong they were his family. But Patton liked things a certain way and his work place was the same. Things might of been hard but he had a company to run and it was goin to a success. He had plans and they had to go well so his mind is on work even though with there is craziness goin on. Things get a lil complicated when a stunning dark hair blue eyes woman comes walking into there offices. It’s has been a long time since a woman like Raquel has turned his head. But Patton is her boss he couldnt do anything about his feels he would just have to fight whatever feels he has for her. It wasn’t goin to easy for him and she wasn’t going to make it easy either.
Raquel is a brilliant character I really liked her from the start. She is a beautiful intelligent woman. Raquel has worked hard to get where she is and now she is in the corporate world she was going to show what she could do. She knew working at Fletcher International wasn’t going to be easy. She has heard thing about Patton but she was hoping they were just rumours surely the guy couldn’t be the devil right. She soon found out what he was like. He might be sexy but this guy does a mean streak but Raquel saw him differently. Patton wasn’t as bad has everyone was saying he could be mean and his temper was and at times but he just liked control and when he didn’t have it he wasn’t used to it. He had control over everything. Deep down Raquel couldn’t hide her feelings for him but she knew if she wasn’t careful she could fall hard for him.
I really enjoyed this book it was brilliant from start to finish I luvd it. The characters were so good and I mean all the characters not just the main ones. I m really hoping that we get more from the other characters Taron is a great character I really need more from him. I would luv more from Marley and Renee to they are really good characters. There is so much to find out about them all.. So fingers crossed there is his story soon. I really liked Patton and Raquel together they were smoking hot and the attraction to each other was crazy. Raquel really brought out the better side to Patton. He thought he was this hard guy and didn’t show his feels but he couldn’t help pouring them out to Raquel she made him feel and it was great to see the change in him by the end of the book. I would highly recommend this book. I luvd everything about it and I’m hoping to get more from these character.
