Boss of Me by Tia Louise was a fun and feisty office romance.
Patton is a complete control freak. Ex special forces, he still feels responsible for the men in his unit, who he feels are his family. After a mission goes bad and changes them all, he continues to try to make it up to them giving them everything, including jobs and high paying salaries. But, they don’t necessarily want to fit into the world he has created for them.
Raquel is a fighter. She is super bright and ready to take on the world. She knows Patton is ruthless, after all, her sister worked for him and abruptly left her job never really saying why. She knows she certainly can’t fall for her boss, but when their chemistry continues to climb off the charts, it’s hard for both of them to resist.
But, a jealous employee has the power to ruin everything by spilling secrets he doesn’t even understand, including Patton’s company, his reputation and his new relationship with Raquel. Secrets hardly ever stay secret . . . and I loved watching the truth come between Patton and Raquel as this couple had to figure out if it was worth it or not.
Boss of Me was angst filled romance and I loved every page of this feisty couple. It was easy to see from page one that it would not be an easy happy ever after, but it was totally worth it. 4 stars!
Tia Louise is one of my favorite authors. I love how she develops a stroy and it is not rushed. She gives little intriguing details that draws readers in. And she does this so well in Boss of Me.
Patton and Raquel are pure chemistry. They are drawn to each other right from the start. I love the connections of Tia Louise’s other books. You don’t have to have read them because this is a complete standalone…. but a scene with Stephen and Remi and Patton in a room….. it’s like Alpha males at it’s finest.
The backstory of Patton and the guys is so well written with why Patton is the way he is and so protective of thoe in his life. Raquel- she grows so much throughout the book. She has a great relationship with her sister- who is the one who first warns her of Patton.
There is such a connection for Patton and Raquel that is shown throughout the book. I could not put it down. I was sad when it ended, I wanted more of them and all the characters. Tia Louise one again gives readers an incredible book!
When I saw Tia Louise had a workplace romance in the works, I wanted in. And let me tell you, Boss of Me was everything I love about her writing. Smart. Sexy. Sassy. Sweet.
I really liked Raquel. She tackled life head and it’s problems head on. She didn’t let anyone or anything stand in her way. Even her new and intimidating boss, Patton. Holy hotness that man! Broody, protective, domineering, powerful. And a goner when it came to Raquel.
I loved the back and forth. The push and pull. The banter. The give and take. The anticipation. How they each let down their walls only to throw them back up a moment later. But my favorite thing was seeing a softer side to both of them. Patton being tender. Raquel letting him lead. Things were looking better for these two until one meeting changed everything.
Full of passion, secrets and romance, Boss of Me was an office romance gem. Tia Louise blended the workplace dynamic with the right touch of family, loyalty, drama and duty to keep me glued to my kindle. And that ending! Oh my happy heart. It was just perfect for Raquel and Patton.
I was hooked on the characters from the start Once I started I couldn’t put it down. Chemistry between Patton & Rocky is is off the charts. They burned up the pages!
I absolutely loved this book. Tia Louise has done it again with this amazing story.
Boss of Me is a stand alone, contemporary, office romance from another new to me author. Patton and Raquel’s chemistry is hot, hot, hot and firing up the pages of my e-reader, whew!!!
Patton is an ex military who have inherited a real estate business from his father. Since that traumatic rescue mission, his bestfriends had never been the same. So, when he was given the reins to run his father’s business, he took his bestfriends to work with him. Through his leadership, they have expanded and with a new deal to broker, he was hoping this will bring him enough, in case his friends wanted to get out of business. He felt responsible for what happened to them at the jungle and he felt that this was him giving back to them.
Raquel or Rocky, started her first work at Fletcher International, to where her sister worked before. After mysteriously quitting, falling off the radar and relocating to Savannah, her sister gave her tips and a warning to never fall for Patton and to not let him bully her to quitting. Too bad, she doesn’t let anyone be the boss of her. However, one look at Patton and she was a goner.
I would describe Patton and Raquel’s chemistry as intense and inevitable. From the get go, they are instantly attracted to each other however they tried to keep everything professional. Raquel’s no-bullshit attitude and sharp wit hooked Patton’s attention like no other woman before her. What follows is a hot, steamy, romance with some mystery, twists and turns that made a page turner read. The secondary characters are not to be ignored too. They have their little side story and I loved that they will have their own book. Loved it and couldn’t wait to dive in the next installment.
Patton is the most perfect broody alpha boss. His military background and partners created for a very interesting story line and I loved the merge of two genres that are usually separate. Raquel comes to work for Patton’s company and blows into his life. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and I found myself completely cheering on their story line. I loved the dynamics of the partners together and their history and friendship now.
I found the story to have an incredibly easy flow to follow and now I am nursing a book hangover without Patton to curl up with.
Tia Louise delivers a great office romance with Patton and Rachel.
The steaminess and buildup between Patton and Rachel will have you captivated. You get so caught up with the characters and the story you don’t even realize you have devoured the book.
Tia Louise has always entertained me with her writing and I always love her characters. This is a book you will enjoy.
Boss of Me is a standalone office romance, enemies to lovers, and military romance. Patton is a handsome hot alpha boss. Raquel (Rocky) is a beautiful woman, feisty, wise, and strong. Their chemistry is like fire. The secondary characters are also great. This story is beautifully written, emotional, intriguing, and captivating. The ending is beautiful. I loved it, and I highly recommend it! Lucy Rivers and Teddy Hamilton did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed this story. Looking forward for more books written by Tia Louise.
This is my first Tia Louise book and I cannot wait to read more. I want to read Ethan and Remi’s stories and I hope Sawyer and Taron get books as well.
This book touched on some tough issues and dealt with some hard emotions, but it did it in a way that did not make you feel overwhelmed by them because while they were important, they were not the focus of the book.
Raquel “Rocky” Morgan earns her nickname. She is a fighter. She is strong willed, stubborn and knows how to get her point across, but she also knows when to back down and step aside. She has landed her dream job and is the perfect fit for it. She isn’t going to let the sexy devil, better known as Patton Fletcher stop her from achieving her dreams. I loved how smart she was but also how vulnerable she could be. She didn’t plan on falling in love, but love is exactly what she got.
Patton Fletcher has demons. Many demons so his nickname as the devil fits him. But even the devil has a heart. Patton has so much going on in his life that he doesn’t have time for love. He barely has time to breath. He carries so many crosses and doesn’t even let himself think of dropping one. What he needs to someone to help him carry the load and Rocky is the perfect fighter for that.
I loved these two. They were so great together. Even when they were fighting each other, you could feel the chemistry coming off the pages. I really look forward to reading more book from this author. I enjoyed her writing style and the world she built.
Absolutely loved this one! Patton was the perfect level of alpha asshole and he met his match in Rocky. Their banter. Their chemistry. Their underlying affection was so great! There were definitely times I wanted to junk punch him but that’s why I loved him.
Definitely recommend.
I received a copy of this book from the publsiher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
They warned me not to take this job. They said y ou were ruthless, impossible to please…I said I was better than them. I wouldn’t fall for your charm, your arrogance, or how secy you fill out that suit. I wouldn’t fall for your deep brown eyes or the way that muscle moves in your square jaw when you’re pissed. I said I could resist you. I was wrong.
I love enemies to lover romances and Boss of Me just happens to be one with a smoking hot alpha man who just happens to have a miilitary background. What more could a girl ask for in a man. This is the story of Raquel Morgan and Patton Fletcher.
Raquel has just graduation with an MBA from Vanderbuilt and is ready to start her new job that is all lined up in Nasheville with Fletcher International. This is the company that Patton Fletcher took over from his father and he has huge plans for the tech-based company. Not only is Patton the boss, he is also ex-military and he is determined not to fail in his plans becasue two of his teammates from the military work with him. Every move he makes is for them and to make sure they are taken care of. That right there is enough to make you fall in love with Patton!!! Not to mention he is alpha male with a mouth that just might make your kindle melt. Once these two lay eyes on each other all bets are off. Nevermind that Renee, Raquel’s sister has warned her not to fall for the devil himself but Patton is very focused on his business and those he cares about. What happens when these two meet for the first time. You have to read to find out. I loved these characters. I love the way they interacted with one another, how they fought their attraction for each other. How Raquel drew out a side of Patton that no one ever sees. However when you have worked so hard for a MBA and have your dream job, is it worth risking it all? Some risks are well worth taking. We just never know which ones. You have to read to find out what happens. I am jealous all of you get to experience this book for the first time. I am sure I will reread it one day, but there is nothing quiet as magical as a good enemies to lovers romance to get the blood pumping and the kidnle melting in your hands.
Two hard headed people, instant chemistry, love/hate office relationship, yep Boss if Me is a hit for me, I read it in an afternoon. Alpha Boss Man Patton was loyal to his military team/brother’s, and he’s grown his family Fletcher business. But when the newest hire walks in, he’s met his match with Rocky(Raquel), she feisty and she won’t go down without a fight. You could feel their chemistry coming off the pages. If you like office romance reads, then this book is for you.
4.5 Stars
Boss of Me is the all new stand-alone novel by Tia Louise. It was an amazing tale about loyalty, friendships, and love. Ms. Louise takes you on an incredible journey with Boss of Me. Patton and Raquel’s story is full of hot as hell chemistry and love we all dream about.
“ Patton Fletcher, I exhale a sigh. He’s either going to be the best or the worst thing that’s ever happened to me…”
Both Raquel and Patton are fantastic characters. They were well developed and I seriously fell in love with the both of them. Patton has a horrible past which had made him hard and only focused on work and his friends. He has no time for a love life but that all changes when Raquel comes and starts working for his company. She is smart, feisty, and confident. She completely throws him for a loop. Neither one have any idea how much their lives are about to change.
I seriously loved this book so much! Well written, full of amazing characters Boss of Me was so much more than what I expected. I highly recommend reading it!
Tia never disappoints. She always gives me what I need in a great read. There was plenty of emotion, drama and steam to keep me entertained and turning those pages faster. The chemistry was off the charts and the sexiness was oh so steamy. The story was intriguing and captivated me from that first page. The characters were engaging and kept me on my toes. Boss of Me was just an enjoyable read.
Raquel “Rocky” Morgan is starting a new chapter in her life. But she hasn’t counted on her boss. Patton Fletcher is a man of honor, works with friends, but he has something against having an outsider join his team. He’s also a man of many talents and may even surprise some people.
This story flowed very nicely. Nothing seemed slow and not making sense. That includes our author’s choice for one of Raquel’s coworkers. The one thing that I couldn’t agree with is that the author says it’s an enemies to lovers. The enemies seems more one sided and part of that may be because of the advice that was given to one of them. But maybe it’s more a frustration of “will we” or “won’t we”. There’s actually a second thing I couldn’t agree with and that’s the military romance. Since these men are no longer in the armed forces how can that be unless you think of it as once a soldier always a soldier. So when you think of it like that than the genre would fit with this book.
With the nights getting cooler in my neck of the woods, having a hot and steamy read is a great way to stay warm. There were times where I kept wanting to tell them to “get on with it already” but if they listened to me than the story would have been over and that’s not what I wanted. The author made me happy though with what came after the ending. There’s an audiobook version coming out and I can’t wait to see who her narrator(s) will be.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Omg! I just finished this and I’m left grinning ear to ear! Tia totally nailed it!!
This is an enemies to lovers (which is my favorite BTW) / office romance!! Patten Fletcher is the devil. That’s what people warned her about when she took her new job but they didn’t tell Raquel just how sexy, broody and mouthwatering he was! She’s determined to resist him but with one small heroic moment, she’s a total goner!
Patten and “Rocky” have such intense chemistry!! And omg! The drama! I knew something big was about to be revealed!! Had me waiting on the ball to drop! Such a good read that kept me intrigued! This book had me laughing, had me sad and had me so happy! Get ready for the ride!! When I seen the end I was a little disappointed but SURPRISE! We are let with an epilogue and I absolutely adored it!
Boss of Me has everything that I love in a book and so much more! Patton and Raquel thrown together in the business world. Patton is a private man. He is ex military, stoic, intelligent, and very alpha male! He runs his father’s business all hands on ! He likes to know what is going on in every nook and cranny of his work world. So when his partner hires a international associate without his knowledge it takes him off guard. Raquel is a smart, savvy business woman that is able to read and speak several languages. That alone makes her quite an asset but throw in her quick thinking and incredible business mind and she is a force to be reckoned with in the boardroom . Patton does not like to be caught off guard and that is exactly what happens when he comes face to face with this brilliant beautiful young woman . He does not want to be affected by her and he certainly will not let on that he is . Everything about her is tempting to him. Just the sight of her and he is off kilter. I loved their sassy, witty banter that you truly knew was sexually charged !!! This book had so many elements that I loved !!!!! Great job Tia !!!!!

. . , , , . 3.5/5 !
Raquel was young and fresh faced, ready to make her mark in the corporate world. She’d landed an incredible opportunity close to home, but her sister Renee’s mysterious departure years prior from the very same company left a ton of unanswered questions and apprehensions. Raquel aka Rocky was not only gorgeous and capable, but she was extremely intelligent and lively! She didn’t let a man’s world dictate where she was going and how she’d get there. I loved that she stood up for herself time and time again in this book.
Boss of Me had a lot going on. Each character brought their fair share of baggage and demons. The males in the story all had a scarred and tumultuous past due to their time served in the military and the troubles that followed. Patton the hero had a troubled past and held his military brothers close, hoping to help them succeed in life when he‘d felt that he’d let them down in the past. I wanted to like the side characters but something about how negatively they were cast made it very hard to like them, especially Marley. Patton, while a class-a jerk, proved to have a giant heart and charismatic demeanor under the hard exterior. But I don’t know if it was enough to win me over completely, given truths that came out late in the story. I him but he wasn’t book boyfriend material for me.
The romance was so hot and satisfying! The sparks were flying, the chemistry was sizzling and the attraction was explosive. I will admit that the sexual relationship between Rocky and Patton was my favorite part of the read!
The ending of the book seemed extremely abrupt. I would have loved another chapter or two post reconciliation of the H/h. Thankfully the epilogue brought some really pleasant closure to Patton and Rocky’s story along with some other characters.
! ’ !
Boss of Me by Tia Louise was a nice surprise. An office romance that was sweet, charming and full of steamy chemistry. Raquel is ready to take on the world after earning her MBA. She is strong and beautiful. Patton is moody and determined. What he does is everything to him, because it helps those he cares about. Then she walks into his world and turns it upside down.
I loved the chemistry these two shared and their back and forth bantering. She gave as well as she got. But he was everything they warned her about. He was bossy and a complete alpha, but she also softened his rough edges as well. I loved watching them fall and experiencing their journey.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
„He’s either going to be the best or the worst thing that’s ever happened to me…”
Tia Louise created seductive, alluring and super steamy office romance that intrigues right from the start. The sexual tension is pouring out of the pages and makes you squirm from excitement. I loved how she described lust between main characters and how they couldn’t keep their distance. But Boss of Me is not only about passion. This book contains also emotional depth and unraveling our characters’s issues was touching.
I love broody, cold heroes, who give the impression that they’re made of stone. Patton Fletcher, an ex-military and CEO, seems to be exactly like that. During his military service he saw and experienced things that are always in the back of his mind. But time shows that he cares deeply and would do anything for his loved ones. He’s intense, very protective and sexy as sin.
Raquel is a perfect mix of beauty and brain. She’s a hard-working fighter, who’s determined to prove her worth. She’s also very brave, because despite being warned about Patton Fletcher, she’s persistent to take the job and guard her heart from the devil.
Instant spark and off the charts chemistry aren’t helping with keeping things strictly professional. Both Patton and Raquel are fighting with the attraction they feel toward each other, but desire is too strong. But what happens, when you open up your heart to a person, who can easily break it?
I loved this story so much. It struck me right in the feels and I coudn’t ask for more! Troubled heroes are my fav and Tia gave me one exactly like that. I just love when moody and cold men are changed and brought to their knees by a woman. This story has also a plot twist that keeps this story real and balanced. I was really excited to know the outcome of the standoff our characters ended up in. I need to mention brilliant secondary characters too! I really hope that Tia will write their stories. I’m very curious about Patton’s buddies from military and their future. These men deserve their happy ending I would love to read about it!
