Boss with benefits was a bad idea.
Getting pregnant by him…
Pure stupidity.
Cocky McCockerson was my first on a long list of firsts.
My first crush. My first lover. My first kiss.
When he left without a word he became… my first enemy.
12 years later he’s back from the military.
Armed with a panty dropping smile and enough swagger to charm the entire cheerleading squad.
And I’m the idiot … squad.
And I’m the idiot that agreed to let him stay at my house.
I was doing an excellent “ish” job of minding my business,
until I walked in on him in the shower.
We agreed. Just once.
Screw my broken heart. I can keep it casual.
His charm and big stick aren’t fooling anyone.
Just when my hatred was subsiding.
He secretly becomes my boss.
Guess I’ll hide this baby bump a little longer…

New level of pleasure
This book was AMAZING! I could hardly put it down. I was TOTALLY engrossed in the story, and I desperately NEEDED to know what was going to happen next.
This was a second-chance story about Katie and Mark. They dated for six months back in high school. He left abruptly and she was left heart-broken, and had no idea why he left so suddenly, and without a word.
Fast forward ten or so years, and it’s set in New York. Katie works at a bar called Hey You!, and has done so for years. She loves her job there. Mark comes in unexpectedly one day, but it’s to meet with and congratulate his best friend Josh, who is getting married to Cassidy, who is also Katie’s older sister. Mark is also there for another reason – to make an offer on buying the bar she works at. Things were always going to get messy from this point!
And there was drama, plenty of emotions running wild, some angst and regret, lots of miscommunication and refusal of admission of true feelings. It was exciting and frustrating, but also beautiful and loving and very passionate at times. When these two were together, sparks really flew!
Surely the history they shared would count for something positive and (hopefully) real. It was a wonderful story that (eventually) warmed my heart. This is one I would definitely recommend, and I wish I could give it more than five stars!

Here we have a very promising romance. But it is so so so so repetitive. The first 2/3 of the story, over and over and over again and again and agin the same issues – wanted to say something else there but…. –
Anyway. The story as such is quite good, if one leaves out all the repetitions. So – and because it is quite well written – I am giving it nice three stars and not less as I was inclined to to because of the endless repetitions, but because of how well written it was I decided that three were better! This author clearly has good ideas and is very articulate so well done on that front.

Second Chance to Love!
It was great to continue Cassidy and Josh’s story while falling for another great couple, Kate and Mark. The reader is rooting for them to forgive the mistakes of the past before it is too late.
There were a few parts that were cheesy or predictable, but the fantasy scene makes up for it all! (I don’t want to spoil it, just read!)
This is my 16th book by Aubrey Wright!

And another excellent book from Aubrey Wright. This one was hot and entertaining. I love the genre of enemies to lovers and this one is superb.
The twists and turns that the characters took really were enjoyable and the addition of a secret baby just blew it away
Can Aubrey Wright get any better? This book proves she can and does

Though he is her boss, they seem to be drawn to one another. Some people may think it is strange about mixing business with pleasure, but you can’t help when you are in love. The book is a must read!

Overcoming Past Mistakes
Mark & Katie loved each other when they were younger until he abruptly left town, leaving Katie heartbroken for yrs. Upon his return, there are mixed signals between them. In public she keeps him at a distance but alone, it’s like they are back in their teens. Will she ever forgive him for leaving & move towards a HEA she dreamed of years ago? Life is complicated for these two lovers.
Beautifully written with 2 people who deserve to have a HEA. A love so strong & so rare, the author has captured it perfectly. I would recommend this novel as your next one to read.

Aubrey Wright can always be counted on to deliver a wonderfully complex book with lots of emotion and steam that is also very thought-provoking. I liked the MC of Mark and Katie a great deal but I did notice a few (not many) discrepancies in the timeline like who knew who, how they knew them, when they last saw each other, etc. Nothing that kept me from being able to follow the storyline or was any type of hindrance to my enjoyment of it in any way at all. I am always happy to pick up a book written by Ms. Wright because I know that I am going to be in for a real treat!

Mark Sampson, just back from L.A., is looking to purchase a bar in Brooklyn. “Hey You!” is a successful business that seems exactly like what Mark wants. He visits the bar to check it out personally before he and the owner come to an agreement. But he never expected to see Katie Marten bartending! She was not very welcoming to him, as he had walked out on her without a word back in high school. He had been her “first” for everything, which made him that extra-special guy a woman never forgets – then he broke her heart without a backward glance.
Katie has gotten wise to men and never gives a guy a second chance. She had learned her lesson and would not make that mistake again. But seeing Mark standing there in front of her, despite her warring emotions, the old attraction is still there – and he feels it too. Will she open her heart and give him another chance? How will she feel if he does buy the bar where she works and she has to deal with the BOSS?
This is a cute story that will keep the reader busy with the laughter, love, surprises popping up along the way. Grab your copy and enjoy!
This book is amazing! Another wonderful story by Aubrey, the tale of Mark and Kate is filled with love, loss, and second chances. Mark and Kate dated in high school and she was over the moon in love. So was he but when he left without a word, Kate’s love turned to hate. Ten years later, they are back in each other’s lives when he shows up at the bar where she works. He’s looking to buy it and move to New York from LA. Their relationship is tense at first but the attraction is still there. Soon they are hooking up but they both try to stop once he buys the bar and becomes her boss. While in Miami for her sister’s wedding, a whole lot of stuff hits the fan. Events and people from their past come to light and things get a little messy when she finds out she’s pregnant. An old high school rival of Mark’s starts trouble after being out bid for the bar by Mark. He threatens the happiness Mark and Kate are finding together but in the end, they take the initiative, tell the truth about their feelings and the baby and beat Paul at his own game. They return to New York where they begin their lives together, happy that he showed up in the bar that night.

Mark walks into Katie’s bar ten years after he left her without a word. Katie never forgave but tried to forget everything about Mark. Mark has returned to New York after successfully owning clubs in LA to buy the bar Katie works at. The spark is still there but they keep denying it. Loved this back and forth angst between these two and throwing in a crazy admirer is the topping on the cake.

As always, I’m enthralled with the story. Aubrey Wright, you’ve done it again! I thought for a moment I’d be disappointed and could’ve wished for a lil bit different ending but that’s why you’re the writer and I’m the #FanGirl. The spitfire in Katie got on my nerves but Mark was the ripple in her pond. Another HEA and I can’t wait for the next read <3
No Spoilers here! Sorry to disappoint
Mark left with no word or letter and ten years later he walked into the bar I worked at Hey You! Katie was angry with him but still wanted him and had to fight her feelings and told him he could only talk related to work. But that didn’t work very well for the both of them. So many twist and turns in the end Paul got what he deserved. Mark and Katie finally got the HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC.
Mark and Kate, I mean Katie, used to date back in high school and he was pretty much her first everything. Things seemed like they were going great until one day he left town with out a word, not even a note or a call. Now years later she’s living in New York, working at one of the coolest bars in Brooklyn when Mark shows up. He’s an up and coming business man who’s ready to make a new for himself in New York City and Hey You!, is just the place to start. The only catch is Hey You! happens to be the same bar that Kate works at their history makes things slightly complicated. When he needs a place to stay for a few days while she is out of town she reluctantly agrees to let him stay there with the assumption he will be gone before she gets back. When she returns home all she can think about it getting a hot shower and a nap but when she walks into the bathroom and finds a naked Mark in the shower, suddenly plans change. What starts out as one time to break the sexual tension soon turns into a few times but when the consequences catch up to them they will be forced to not only talk about the past but deal with the pending future.
I loved Mark and Kate’s story so much, this was probably my favorite so far by this author! Its got some 2nd chance romance/enemies to lovers vibes going on that will suck you in right away. Their banter is spot on, especially when Mark’s cocky side comes out! The plot definitely has some intense moments that kept me on the edge of my chair and I was so happy to see how things ended in this one.
I highly recommend this book!

A young love ended by immaturity and what was thought to be by the right thing. Mark comes back into Kate’s life after 10 years through a possible business transaction. Kate hates Mark for the way he left, but Mark was hoping that the letter he sent would have eased the situation. Sexual tension runs high between them and they agree to have a once time deal so that there won’t be tension at Kate’s sisters wedding. Once is never enough and Mark comes to realize he had loved Kate along but Kate is stubborn to realize her feelings. Through a surprise and blackmail everything works out and the love that had nen there all along prevails.

I love great second chance’s love story, Kate and Mark’s story is heartwarming. Met in high school, dated for months and one day out of the blue Mark is gone, without a goodbye. Katie has was hurt and because of that has never had a serious relationship. She’s the use them and leave them kinda girl; 10 years later they meet again. Both keep fighting their feelings, business gets in the way, evil business associates a side. This is an entertaining, well written story that kept me fully engaged from start to finish.

I had a hard time getting into this book. It started off great but soon began a slow decline into overly written. Her constant correction of her name from ‘Katie’ to ‘Kate’ is redundant. The book gets over explanatory at times.
The characters were great and the story line is great. I love the supporting characters. I
