This was such a fun read! Sonia is an assistant to a very attractive but very demanding millionaire CEO. But circumstances present an interesting opportunity and a deal is struck between the two. And that’s when things get really interesting. Brad seems like the typical millionaire CEO: Good looking, suave and resistible. He does get bored easily with his women. However there seems to be more to him than first thought. Yes he is flirty and loves hearing how good looking he is but he can be sweet and even swoon worthy.
The interactions between Sonia and Brad are hilarious. Sonia gives as good as she gets with Brad. She is an adorable bookish nerd but I think she doesn’t realise how pretty and smart she is and downplays herself. Drunk Sonia was certainly a lot of fun! After spending more time together outside the office, both characters change and their dynamic shifts.
There were some amazing characters here: adorable ones like Mary, stubborn ones like Mason and young but wise ones like Sarah. I love especially loved Ava, Sonia’s friend. She was a riot who was funny and chatty:
*She sighed overly loud. “Tall, dark, and oh-so fine. Give my love to your BILF.”
Boss I’d Like to-yeah, right.
How about Boss I’d Like to Kill?
“I’ll tell the BILK you said hello. Bye.”*
The story was a humorous romantic story but it was more than that. It’s about family ties and deeper connections. It’s about realising your worth and that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. There’s always more than meets the eye and sometimes the thing we are looking for is found right in front of us.
Finally! Finally, I romantic comedy that pulled me from my slums of blah-land and had me laughing and smiling again. I will not lie. I was nervous about going in. I mean, another book about a secretary falling for her boss. But this book delivers it all!
Let me tell you peeps! Mia Kayla held me from the beginning until the end with this one. I loved the dynamics of the love-hate relationship that Sonia and Brad had. The growth between the two was amazing and the humor. Oh! let’s talk about the humor! I mean BILK aka “BOSS I’D LOVE TO KILL”!
Sonia and Brad just thought they knew the other person only to realize that they truly did not know the other at all. I loved how falling in love with their love story.
The supporting cast from Brad’s brothers and nieces to Sonia’s huge family were all fantastic. I loved learning about all of them. They could all get their own books in my opinion. I cannot wait to get more in this series.
Enemies to lovers -boss and employee – a great story!!! Brad and Sonia were such a fun read. How I wish I worked in their office. There was banter, flirting, slow burning romance – I just couldn’t get enough. It was funny, sweet, sexy. I loved these characters. Their story gives you lots of feels. I’m hoping for more with Brad’s brothers stories!!!
Office romance at its best. Awesome banter, tough cookie heroine and grumpy but swoony AF boss. I think this is Mia’s hottest book to date! 5 BILF stars!
Mia Kayla has, once again, captured my heart with this amazing enemies-to-lovers read that I could not put down.
Sonia has worked for Brad for years and during that time she has done every single unreasonable thing he has asked without question. But when he asks her to help him with his niece, she feels that is taking things too far. So she makes a deal with Brad. In order for her to help him, he has to attend her friends wedding as her boyfriend.
As Sonia learns more about Brad as a person and not a boss, she starts to see that he may not be who she thought he was. I couldn’t get enough of the back and forth with these two characters and I couldn’t help but fall head over heels in love.
This might be my favorite Mia Kayla read yet and I can’t wait to see what she brings us next!
I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review. This book was a slow build up to a HEA. There were a couple of times where I was sure the book was going to follow a common romance recipe but the situation was in the book to develop the characters in a certain way. It was a sweet romance. There were the standard romance misunderstandings at the end, but they didn’t last long and the characters were level headed and the HEA came quickly afterwards. It was perfect. I really get frustrated with those misunderstandings where one character runs away for a few months before they realize they belong together. The banter between the characters was funny and I ended up reading this book over one day because I wanted to know what happened between the H and the h.
