This is another sweet, clean romance from one of my favorite authors. I found it very enjoyable to read. It has a humorous section to it & an HEA. I received an ARC. This is my honest, voluntary review.
Another Sweet Romance in Amor, New Mexico
This is a nice and heartwarming romance set in New Mexico, the latest in the Amor series. The plot is straight-forward and well done. The people, their emotions and situations all ring true. This story is built on the prior stories and a reader will get more by reading the whole series in order. It can stand alone quite well. I received the ARC book for free from Booksprouts and this is my honest review.
Zoe and Stephen had funny first meeting throwing marshmallows at each other during the Amor camp fire stargazing event. But when she realizes he is there to buy up businesses and rebuilt Amor, she turns into a prickly hedgehog and tries to thwart his attempts. Stephen has the mayor behind him and he is reasonable with the business owners and not threatening them. And she feels an attraction to him, but he’s only temporarily in town, right? This was an opposites attract romance in that he likes order and she likes chaos and to be spontaneous. He has dated many women casually and Zoe has never been kissed. There were a lot of funny moments in this book and it was great to catch up with the characters from the previous books in this series.
Book five in the Borrowing Amor series a well written story that I was not putting down until I finished reading it. I want to read the next book in this series. The mayor’s assistant, Zoe Flores and real estate developer Stephen McAllister will have a lot to overcome before they get their happy ending, especially learning how to talk to and be honest with each about what they are doing and feeling. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Oh dear, I really didn’t connect with the writing on this one. Made it hard to even like the characters. Definitely not my cup of tea.
Why do today’s authors feel the need to include multiple play by play sex scenes? If I wanted porn, I would buy porn. I will not buy anything by this author because there are authors out there who know how to let us know the couple has been intimate without turning us into voyeurs. So I will miss out on some excellent storytelling.
Enemies to Lovers
Zoe and Stephen make such great enemies! So much conflict, so much tension, so much… attraction. They are on opposite sides but drawn together.
It was really fun to read. A great Sweet Romance.

Borrowing Kisses #5 – It is always delightful to return to Amor and watch the next couple journey to their wedding. Zoe’s a little bit of a nut, but she’s always been a good character. Her love interest is an interesting addition to the series. This is a well written, clean series with good characters and good storylines. The characters from this small town are part of each book in this series, making it a good experience reading the next addition. There’s always humor, love and understanding in each book. After reading so many, it’s hard to review without a book report wanting to emerge. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout. 4*
Borrowing Christmas #1 – This is my first read by this author and I enjoyed the storylines. The characters are interesting, funny and sincere. Many good things happen in this cute, quickly read second chance at starting over and a first for romance. Learning to trust is difficult when coming from a bad background, but buckling down instead of under is most of the battle. This story is better than I expected. I found this book on Booksprout. 4*
Borrowing Love #2 – Personally I would read this book after reading Borrowing Time, it’s the before to this after story. This is a sadder, more toned down book than Borrowing Christmas. I liked all of the characters, especially Zoe; but Ruby, poor girl, had a hard row to hoe. She lost all her family except her brother and four years later is still lost. An old high school friend comes to town and shakes her up. The good storylines moved at a fast paced keeping the reader’s interest. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout. 4*
Borrowing a Fiance #3 – This is my favorite of the series, more than Borrowing Christmas, which I love. It is hilarious; the stuff that goes on in this story had my sides hurting from laughing so much. The characters are really likeable and loveable. The storylines mesh well with the characters growing into who they should become while discovering what is important. The white sands of NM are an important character too.
This fast paced story is very entertaining and quickly read. There is so much more to this story, but this is a review, not a book report. If possible, but not necessary read Borrowing Christmas first to get the foundation to this story. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout. 4*
Borrowing Time #4 – It was difficult to read this book since I had already read the third book of the series; spoilers. I actually think this book should be read before Borrowing Love since it’s about how Ruby and Clark met and their romance. Of course, I read them backwards and I suffered since I knew their future already. A quick, entertaining read with interesting storylines and characters, humor and dogs. This is a good story but Borrowing Christmas is my favorite. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through her newsletter. 4*
